Enjoyed our stay very much. Great bed and linens. Powerful shower. Big tv. Fridge in room. Would definitely stay there again. Wish we had a higher floor on the front..

Staff pays good attention to you and the to the hotel. Many hotels are overrated in terms of stars. This one is old school 4-5 star hotel.

Hotel staff helpful and friendly. Room and public areas clean and well maintained. Located near Metro, Dupont Circle, Adams Morgan, Georgetown, museums and any embassy you can think of. My wife and i enjoyed a wonderfully romantic three day weekend exploring this very interesting neighborhood. We loved hanging out at Dupont Circle in the evenings after a day seeing the sights. The Anderson House, right next door, is a must see!

I've known about the Fairfax at Embassy Row for over thirty years. It was the first hotel I stayed at in Washington in 1979. Times have changed, but the hotel has maintained in stately presence in the market. It's older, so rooms tend to be smaller, but the condition is excellent, the service superb and I'm happy to report that under Starwood management, the old lady still has luster. Great value too., especially for the location. I miss the old Jockey Club, but otherwise--great property. I'll be back.

Great location, central. Close to dining, metro. Friendly staff, clean, good food, good service. Would stay again! My 14 yr old loved it too.

The hotel was lovely, staff accommodating and I would stay there again in a heartbeat if I was staying alone. The room my husband and I had was very small for two people - the king sized bed took up most of the space - and the bathroom, while nice, had no counter space on which to put toiletries or a hairdryer which made that room seem even smaller than it was and made it less than ideal. Cleanliness and staff friendliness are the more important issues to me, however and on those scores, it was terrific!!

We stayed 2 nights and payed the $22 wifi fee. We found our selves in need of printing services and we were charged $6 for every 15 min on the computer that was in the business center and then $.79 a page for printing. We spent almost $40 just on internet and printing because paying for wifi access does not get you business center access as it should. The first night we stayed we decided to order breakfast in bed for the next morning we filled out the order form and placed it on the outside of our door at a reasonable hour that evening. The next morning the room service arrived thirty min after our requested delivery window and they forgot part of our order. The food was tasty but that doesn't make up for the tardiness. Additionally the paper that we had requested was not delivered and the front desk was hostile about it when we called. The parking garage was $47 a night which is outrageous even for DC and you have to valet park, which means you have to tip, so we spent a total of just over $100 on parking. The concierge was very personable and friendly but when we told here we were looking for a nice french dinner she sent us to a place with red checked table cloths and I found a maggot in my meal. We sent the food back and promptly went to a different restaurant. Maybe the concierge misunderstood "nice french restaurant"?in any case we told her about our experience and hopefully she wont send anyone else looking for good french food there.

This hotel is perfectly placed, 5 min away from Dupont Circle. The rooms has smalls and the wifi is just too slow to display a simple webpage... Don't choose this hotel if you need an efficient internet connectivity

Not as expected for a 5 star hotel. The service was not good at checkin, after that it was better. Rooms are small, but well mainteined.

Given we stayed in Washington DC during a National three day Holiday weekend, when we arrived a day early, the staff was extremely accomodating. We moved the next day to our reserved rooms without a sigh or frown. The hotel location was trendy and convenient, service excellent, and this Fairfax lives up to the five-star standard of service you would expect.

I would definitely stay here again. Location was walking distance many dining areas and a short cab ride to major sites.

parking stinks. should not charge guests for parking

The hotel was definitely a disappointment given the reviews online and the other options available in Dupont. The rooms are old and look like they haven't been updated in decades. The service was mostly friendly, although I was charged for in-room internet even though my booking on hotels.com explicitly indicated free wi-fi in the room. The employees at the desk were not accommodating on resolving the discrepancy and in the end charged me for the internet anyway. For the price - stay elsewhere!

This was a very well-managed hotel, outstanding concierge for suggesting restaurants. The room was quite comfortable, quiet and functional. The location just two blocks off of DuPont Circle is perfect, close to everything but not the noise and crowds.

Staff was wonderful. Would definitely stay again. Only issue was they charge for Internet in your room.

We loved it

This is a classic DC property. Beautifully appointed, attentive staff, comfy beds and amenities. The only drawback: my room was located on the back side of the hotel right about the trash dumpster. As a result, I heard trash bins rolling out and being dumped at 11;30 at night and the dump truck picking them up at around 6am. This did not make for a good night's sleep. Ask for a room far away from the trash bins. Otherwise a really great hotel.

The Fairfax is an exceptional hotel. It's incredibly clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It's in a great location to explore the city and being close to the numerous bars and restaurants at DuPont Circle is a great advantage. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We would return and book with Hotel.com. We were extremely pleased and would highly recommend it!

Loved location, service and hotel experience. Only downfall was on access to valet vehicle. Occasionally needed to retrieve something fom the car but did not need to have car brought around. someone would lead you to the vehicle, but had to go down into the bowels of the hotel, through the kitchen. Would have been great if easier access on own, but guess that's all a part of a stay in a huge city.

We were welcomed very warmly and any need that we expressed was well taken care of. The hotel was lovely, has rich history of it's own that we enjoyed hearing about and was very clean. We loved being near some of the beautiful foreign embassies and had no trouble with travel in the city.

Overall it was very good. The location and proximity to DuPont circle and Metro are key and fantastic. The hotel itself doesn't feel 5 star. I'm sure there are 5 star rooms but you probably won't be in them. 3 star room with 5 star service. We were made to feel welcome and that our business was important to them which made up for the physical shortcomings of the room. Oh yeah, and parking will cost you fifty a day plus tip.

What a great hotel. The service was fantastic from the valet to the check in people to the concierge everyone made us feel special. The room was spacious and extremely comfortable. The rate for the quality of room was great. You can't go wrong with this hotel.

Wonderful place with some old world charm and elegance. Very clean and comfortable with a very helpful friendly staff. The dining room was first class with a varied menu and each dish very well prepared that we had, plus a good wine list. They printed my boarding pass for my flight out, no do it yourself. It is a convent location in the middle of beautiful embassy row with several close by attractions I visited. It is also not too far a walk to the Mall, various monuments, and the Adam-Morgan restaurant scene. I will stay there on our next visit.

For the rate, this was a lovely, perfectly clean, and convenient hotel. All of my typical pet peeves for a hotel were alleviated immediately: great water pressure, accurate climate control, and quiet hallways. They were even kind enough to let me check in 3 hours early. I highly recommend this hotel.

The stay here was great: the room and lobby were very clean, the staff was helpful and friendly, and the location was near enough to everything that we could walk most places. Valet parking was $47 for the weekend. The rates for food and drink seemed kind of high, also for room service, so we passed on all those options. My only complaint would be the expensive wifi.

I booked a stay at this hotel for a romantic Valentine's Day weekend. My boyfriend and I received such poor service from the hotel staff, I will never stay at a Starwood again.

Nice place the right side of the hotel is next to a catering company who laods their trucks all night long and refuse to stop. The hotel had to call the cops twice, and said they have problems with that company all the time.

It was great to be on Embassy Row very close to Dupont Circle. We were super close to the Metro and within walking distance to the White House and other must-see sites. I didn't try any of the food or the restaurant, but the bed was very comfy and all of the staff was very nice. It was great that there were large umbrellas available because it rained on us.
