Absolutely delightful!

It is a nice place, quite fancy. Our room looked out over the elevator and was right by the service station where the maid carts sat outside our room all night. It was a long room and from the bed the tv was about 30 feet away. The ceiling was high and the room never did cool down much. The front desk did not apologize just informed us that they knew of the AC problem beforehand. Breakfast was good for 40 bucks, We'd rather stay at the Galvez where you are waited on. We won't be here again. Now we can say been there, done that.

Great hotel for a quick, romantic getaway. Rooftop bar offers a wonderful view of Galveston and the sunset and provides a perfect place to relax with a drink and a good book midweek in the off season. Selection of good restaurants is within walking distance, as is the Strand and the tall ship Elissa.

Blessed

Very disappointed in hotel management or front desk for disregard of the importance of finding our keys left in our room for us 30 minutes after we left. I was told it may be Monday before we heard back from hotel. totally unacceptable since we had just left 30 minutes earlier at this was Saturday at 2:30. I told them where to look to find them and it still took four phone calls and being left on hold for 20 minutes after my wife had gone through ever piece of luggage we had over a stressful 2 hours waiting for some word back from our calls.

Beautiful place and gave us a complimentary bottle of wine for our honeymoon

Gorgeous in the heart of historic Galveston. Ultra high ceilings, great design and decor. On site dining ok, many restaurants in surrounding area, but also many closed businesses and some sketchy characters. If fully restored the area would be a great tourist place, as is, there were too many boarded buildings, a trolley ride that has been closed since 2008 because of a some hurricane and never restored, and just a sense of not ready for prime time. Walking distance to port. No self parking, must use valet at $18 per night, but if parking for a cruise, you take your car to sister hotel, Hotel Galvez, and they valet it for you for free for duration of cruise. Shuttle goes back and forth between two and also to port and back. Would stay there again, but might try Hotel Galvez instead..

Great hotel—they found out it was our 20th anniversary and had a complementary bottle of wine and chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us in the room at check in. If you’re staying in Galveston, and not wanting to be on the beach, I’d highly recommend this hotel. The restaurants are better in this part of Galveston as well.

We enjoyed this hotel to perfection. It has a feel of real luxury with wonderful lighting and high ceilings. The bar and lobby areas are so tastefully designed with tall palm trees growing through the floors. Rooms are spacious and gorgeous. The rooftop terrace has lovely views of historical Galveston and the seating is cozy and comfortable. Service is excellent. It will be our hotel of choice whenever we visit Galveston

We went down for the reggae festival, stayed one night. Very comfortable, clean, great service

Booked a suite for a Thursday night with three people planning on one person sleeping on the sleeper sofa. After dinner and drinks, we got back to the hotel to find no sheets for the sleeper sofa. Called down and waited and was delivered one sheet with holes in it! Yes, took a photo! We must be strange but we use a top sheet and a bottom sheet! We ordered a second sheet for the sofa while we put the holey sheet on the sofa. Finally got it and then discovered there were only two bath towels. So be sure to order your sheets and towels when you check in! The employees at the front desk, door/valet/bell, and bartender at the lobby bar are really nice and great at their jobs! Sent an email to the hotel a couple of days ago and haven't heard anything back.

One of the nicer places I have stayed. Super clean, wonderful decor, pleasant staff.

Will stay again, friendly staff, clean room, close to beach without the smell.

Huge rooms, very nicely appointed, great staff and location.

We stayed in a small room at first that was nice, even though it's windows weren't exterior windows. They were windows looking into the interior. We got very lucky and were bumped up to a suite because our plumbing broke, and that seriously made our trip better. Being in the Historic District was very nice because we could walk to little cafes to eat. They do have very good service though. They only problem with cleanliness was that they seemed to neglect cleaning under a table in a corner because they probably thought nobody would notice. I didn't look anywhere else to see if it was clean, but generally the rooms were clean and nice. I would highly recommend staying there.

My ONLY complaint was when we checked in to our room (209) the toilet had not been flushed. :( The toilet did require extra work to flush though. And then during our ride back from the Hotel Galvez the driver seemed to not be very enthused about his job. We are pretty upbeat people but if not, he would have depressed me. Not something people on vacation want to hear. He was hispanic but I did not see his name badge. Everything else was amazing and I would definitely recommend your hotel to others and return when we could. Thanks for everything!!

Wish I would have stayed longer!

What a wonderful historic hotel. The rooms were good sized, spotless, and the beds were so comfortable. The lobby had a nice bar, a small restaurant with Starbucks coffee, a free gym, and was withing walking distance to many nice restaurants, bars, and shops. One could use the sister hotel which had a beautiful pool, spa, restaurant, and was across the street from the beach. The sister hotel was about 1-1/2 miles away and The Tremont House offered a free shuttle hourly or, if you valet parked, the parking was free at the other hotel. Parking cost about $18/day, but offered free and in and out privileges. It was my 50th birthday and they set us up in a larger room (440) and had a bottle of wine and some cheeses waiting for me. Two other couples traveled with us and they were just as happy with the hotel. We would definitely stay at the Tremont House again!

We enjoyed our stay, guests have the use of the pool at the Galvez Hotel and that is a nice perk. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance and the staff is very friendly.

The room had an old Victorian feel to it. I wish our view would've been better, but we didn't spend a lot of time in the room so it was no big deal. The hotel was centrally located, so we were able to do a lot of "sight seeing", visit local shops, and even took a carriage ride. The staff at the hotel were very helpful, and kind. Everything was done for us from valet parking our car, to opening every door, to even pushing the buttons on the elevator! The only negative is that we didn't get a chance to visit the rooftop bar. Maybe next time.............

I have stayed at this hotel several time. Everything was as advertised and expected. If you are looking for comfort and quality, this is the place to stay in Galveston.

Staff was great. Good location for walking and exploring. Will go again.

Enjoyed our stay very much, Clean, comfortable rooms and friendly, accommodating staff. Was inconvenient to have to use valet parking every time we wanted to come or go. Would be glad to recommend it to others.

Love the accomodations at this hotel...bathroomsare superb..lighting fantastic..bed linens heavenly. Only complaint is that the rooftop bar doesnt open until very late in the evening around 5pm daily and food choices in restaurant are not substantial. More like health food. I would like a good steak added to the food lineup.

They charge $18 for valet as if you are in downtown SFO.

Fantastic hotel, except they need new pillows.

Let me start by saying that this is a gorgeous hotel. B e a u t i f u l !!! Comfortable and beyond. Great food. Only negative was not being able to get to the hotel because of post Mardi Gras city celebrations street closures. I was a little aggravated having to walk 2 blocks (without my luggage) didn't want to carry it. I explained upon departure on Monday to the Front Desk Manager that some sort of notification would be a good plan to the guests of such a fine establishment.

Over all everything was fantastic! The bar upstairs was beautiful overlooking Galveston. I would like to request refrigerators to be in the rooms since we had nowhere to put our anniversary cake.

Went down for Mardi Gras and had a blast. Hotel is a must stay for us anytime we go to Galveston.

great renovated grand old hotel. Staff is very attentive, rooms are on the small side but very comfortable. I would suggest a street facing room if you want a quiet night as the rooms facing the open lobby are noisy with guests at the piano bar until midnight. Valet parking is prompt and they have a shuttle to take you anywhere in town including the cruise ship terminal. If Eric Hale is playing at the piano bar, check him out he is incredible.

Comfortable, classy hotel with very attentive staff. Close to shops, restaurants and all of the rich flavor of Galveston. I highly recommend this hotel and plan to stay there again on future visits.

I have been to Galveston many times but had never spent much time in this area, referred to as The Strand. The Treemont House is in the perfect location for walking to art galleries, shops, docks and restaurants. Be aware you will have to park on the street or pay for valet parking. The Treemont House is a beautiful hotel and the room was spacious and tastefully decorated. The beds and bedding and towels were all wonderfully soft and inviting. Staff was friendly and helpful.
