Clean, comfortable and convenient with pool and wifi. Would have preferred fresh breakfast to be available rather than purchasing packeted foodstuffs. Otherwise very satisfied

We stayed at the Candlewood on the last night of our vacation for an early flight out. Location and ease of access to the airport was phenomenal - it took us less than 5 minutes to be in the airport parking lot. The bed was not very comfortable, but everything else was beyond expectation. Standard room comes equipped with a full-size refrigerator, a stocked kitchenette with dishes, sing, microwave and stovetop. There is also a large desk, and the bathroom was nice and clean - though the shower pressure was not great. The best feature of this hotel is the "honor system" snack area. Food and drink items from as little as 25 cents. Free laundry and fitness center are in the same location. This by far has more amenities than as standard 2-star hotel.

It was our first stay in a Candlewood suites hotel and we could not have been happier, We found our room to be clean, quiet and the staff was very friendly and helpful.The hotel was centerally located,only 10 to 15 minutes away from downtown Tampa or St. Petersburg, 15 minutes to Clearwater beaches. I would recomend this hotel and would gladly stay there again.

The room was larger than most hotel rooms, and I liked the extra large desk area to work on.

The Candlewood Suites experience was top notch. Nice staff, big rooms and central location was a real plus. Industrial neighborhood kind of typical for the Clearwater area. Absolutely recommended.

Great staff nice room. Only down side was very few restaurant choices nearby.

Nightly rate was higher on this stay than in the past but I have never been unhappy about my stay. Clean, quiet, conveniently located to most of what I need and the fitness center is better than most.

Very dissatisfied. In our five day, four night stay, our room keys had to be changed three times because they wouldn't open our room, we were woke up by maintenance earlier than we wanted to be, and went without hot water one of the days.

Don't get me wrong, this hotel filled our need for a place to stay for one night in the area. However, it isn't convenient to Tampa, nor is it convenient to Clearwater Beach. The area, located within skipping distance of a work release facility, is downright scary. Understandably, the front door was locked when we arrived after dark and we had to be buzzed in and had to announce ourselves. Beyond that, the room was clean and the hotel had a "market" and exercise facility. Everything else about the hotel was as advertised and we were able to get a good night's rest and be on our way the next day.

I stayed only one night due to early business meeting.Very nice fitness center. Would have appreciated a free breakfast or some type of restaurant.

Loved the hotel and the staff. Our stay was wonderful. The rooms were gorgeous. Loved the gym....free washer...dryer...and snack area. The staff was energetic and very friendly. Def going back there each and everytime we come to clearwater. Loved loved loved it!

we enjoyed our stay at candlewood. the room was neat and comfortable..we loved the kitchen area, it was neat and very clean which is important to us..the only draw back was they entered our room while we were gone without telling us. all in all it was enjoyable and wood stay at a candlewood suite again.........

rooms where all redone real nice

I booked this hotel as other customer reviews said it was nice however the hotel was under construction, the elevators did not work, there were paint chips in the hallways, the hallways smelled and the are surrounding the hotel was SCARY! I would NEVER book with this hotel line again after they charged me the same amount as nice hotels on the beach. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!!! HORRIBLE!

Room was clean, comfortable, new, big and nice! Especially, the bed was a way better than other hotel beds in the same price category. I will be back again!

The hotel is in the midst of rennovations at this time, but what they have done looks great. The rennovations did not interfere with our stay. The front desk was extremely helpful and kind. We would not hesitate to stay there again. I was a little fearful when we first read the reviews, but it seems that there is nothing to worry about any more.

We are locals who had to have our bungalow tented for termites. I work at the criminal complex just down the road, so we chose this site because it was close and they had a small apartment style room. We loved this place for the price. The people were so accomodating to help with our frozen food, even though they could not give us an early check in. We have traveled extensively, and this was a hidden jewel witihin our own area!

The hotel was nice, but we had booked a room with two queen size beds, and when we arrived we were given a room with one queen size bed. When we asked about it at the front desk, we were told that they only had rooms with one queen size bed. We were told that they also had a one bedroom suite, with one queen size bed and one pull-out sofa, but that those rooms were already booked. The room was clean and service friendly.

Hotels.com site states a 2BR option. This facility DOES NOT have suites with 2 beds which was a major issue!!! Could not get through to anyone at hotels.com to switch the reservation; on hold after being transferred for almost an hour!

We did not get the room we had booked and paid for. Front Desk Clerk was not helpful at all, and somewhat rude. She seemed to have a negative attitude regarding us booking through Hotel.com. I called Hotel.com regarding this issue, and we did comeup with a resolution to the problem. We spoke to another guest that was there with her son, she too, had a problem with not getting the room she reserved. So this was not an isolated incident. The room was clean, however,the hotel in general, was in need of some repairs. Outside door would not open with room key everytime; door handle in corridor was broke and hanging, carpets could use a cleaning. I will not return to this hotel in the future, and would definately NOT recommend it.

We stayed here 4 nights and enjoyed it. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was extremely clean. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Although not directly located at a particular destination, it is central to many of the gulf beaches in the area. It took is only 20 minutes to get to a number of beaches. We would definately stay here again. A positive experience overall.

The place looked nice yet it was more of a budeget inn or motel 6. The bed was the worst i have been in. Cable or sat t.v. was not working or they had less then the basic service. It was way over priced for the room. I will not recommend them to anyone at that price.

The excercise room was clean and bigger than some larger chain hotels. The room smelled a little of bleach, but we opened the window to air out. Laundry was free to wash and dry and there were snacks to purchase. The front desk had DVD's to loan out, The pool was spotless, though a little noisy from traffic. We felt safe there. As someone said previously, the bathroom towels were nice and fluffy without the hotel odor, just like at home.

I booked this room less than a week before the St. Petersburg Grand Prix after having read several positive reviews through Hotels.com. Overall the experience wasn't bad but I can't say I would recommend these accommodations to family or friends. The choice of number of beds was made available through Hotels.com but upon arriving at Candlewood, found out that all the rooms at the "extended-stay" facility were only furnished with single queen beds and that no roll-away beds were on the premises. This proved to be inconvenient for me and my friend with whom I planned to share the room (he wound up borrowing a cot from friends he was visiting in town). I also thought the facility was non-smoking but an ash tray was provided in the room, and it wreaked of smoke. All my clothing smelled of it after a three night stay. I shouldn't have been surprised by any of this. The cost of the stay was reasonable and the location while not providing the most secure feeling proved safe enough and was a reasonable distance from downtown St. Pete. In the future I'll do a little more research before making reservations for accommodations.

We arrived from out-of-town to attend a wedding in the area. Our room was not ready when we arrived at 2pm but we realized that we were early (check-in was at 3:00). The desk help did nothing in the way to accommodate us when we asked her if she could possibly give us a room that WAS ready. Our room was finally ready at 3:15. If an employee isn't willing to help paying customers, then s/he has no business in the service industry!

The room smelled like smoke. There was a burn hole in the comforter cover. We requested a different room and was told there were no more rooms.

Good place to stay. The building was clean, the customer service was friendly and helpful, and the room was everything we needed. The pool wasn't in front of the building, as most hotels/motels have them - it was more private, on the side of the bldg and had a privacy fence around it. Candlewood Suites is a keeper.

We were just doing a weekend get away and this was a nice way to go...Lots of nice towels!!! Need more counter space in the bathroom. Lots of extras like a toaster and teapot. Nice...

Enjoyed my stay. Lots of restaurants in the area. Close to freeways with access to area's attractions and beaches. The hotel was clean and well maintained.

Very nice clean and worth it. Loved the snack room they have available 24/7

I was never a customer at candlewood suites, but the experinece was totally AWESOME. I enjoyed the service the amenitied, the room I can't begin to say how pleased I was by the whole place . i would most certainly stay at another one again , But for those reviewing , the toom was great the towels were not cheap little towels the bathroom clean and spacious. the fitness center was true health club quality , not a home gym knockoff crap others try to pass off. the movie and music selection was a surprise and the kichenette was a shocker, I just expected a microwave ans mini fridge, I could stay there a month easy.Overall I am 5 out if 5 impressed , happy and look forward to seeing another Candlewood suite again , cheers oops the staff were phenomenal and helpful, even, ran into some repeat customers who swear by the place, I agree ewith their accolades totally

What can I say! The staff was excellent! The room was very comfortable and so was the price! Keep it up and you may very well get a five star review!!!

Absolutely the worst hotel stay of my professional career. I made reservation online, and it took almost 20 minutes to check in. The person behind the desk never said a word to me. I tried to engage conversation, but nothing. My co-worker had the same problem. Almost 40 minutes for the two of us to check in. the only thing said to us was, we charge 25 dollar deposit on top of the bill. The noise was ridiculous. The remotes didn't work in either of our rooms for the tv. My tv had reception that was unwatchable The whole experience was a great learning experience---Never, ever, will I stay at a candlewood again.

very clean, updated, the only bad thing I can say is it is not located in a good area (as far as things close by)

The hotel was very nice and the room was clean and comfortable. The TV was an old tube TV instead of a new flat screen, which was quite disappointing. The real problem, however, was that the inputs on the TV weren't working properly. I had my PS3 hooked up to the TV and could hear the sound from it, but couldn't see the picture. If I changed the channel I could see the picture for a split second, but it would then go black again. Overall it was a nice room, but not being able to use my preferred source of entertainment was extremely disappointing.

It was great that we had our own little kitchen area with a good size refrigerator but there was no ice anywhere on site. We had to find a gas station to get some! Everything else was great!

Great hotel, loved the Cupboard idea, personally prefer suites over hotels. Loved having our own fridge, microwave and range. Loved the option of being able to borrow free DVD's from the front counter and to be able to pick up your own fresh towels when you want to as opposed to unscheduled visits from housekeeping.

Good value and spacious enough for 3 people. If you are flying out of St. Petersburg definitely worth considering.
