Clean and adequate for an overnight jaunt. Furnishings a bit out of date but well maintained. Good choice for a less expensive option.

Very basic place, small basic rooms with basic stuff. If you want basic this is it...now all you need to do is be sure you get a good rate and that's why you shop on Hotels.com. I'd say that much of the rate I paid was for the location right by the Horseshoe where I was in a poker tournament. Generally for this rate or slightly more I get a brand much further along the hotel quality scale, but generally this motel does a fine job, the rooms, especially in the front wing downstairs are nice and quiet and the Johnel's restaurant is good and only 20 feet from the front door of the hotel. This is one of the three closest motels to the Horseshoe casino (6 miles away) and of the three I'd say this is the nicest but not by as much of a margin as the rates might otherwise indicate. Still, the room was basically clean, the shower basically works, and the continental breakfast is well, you guessed it, just basic. There are nice cookies at night and 24hr free coffee in the lobby. The staff is fairly friendly and newspapers are free.

I have stayed many nights at this hotel and the rooms are always clean and comfortable. The hallways are kinda dingy, but I dont spend much time in the hallways so no big deal. For the price and the location, I recommend this hotel.

I spent Monday and Tuesday nights at the Ramada Inn and Conference Center. The hotel offerred a convenient location relative to I90, which lead me to the McCormick Center in Chicago. The cost for two nights was less than half the cost for a hotel in downtown Chicago. Breakfast was free, albeit quite spartan- basically high sugar and carbohydrate laced; the coffee was good. The adjoining restaurant appeared to be quite nice; however, I opted for a Chinese dinner at a local bistro. there is a good selection of restaurants nearby.

Older motel. Newish lobby. Rooms small. TV fuzzy reception. Free cold continental breakfast was just OK. Mediocre coffee free 24 hrs in lobby. Bathrooms small and dated but mostly clean with some floor wear though around toilet. In room coffee single brew was fine...same stuff in more expensive places. Price was right and it was close to Horseshoe casino. Nice Greek owned diner right next door with bar maybe 20 feet from hotel.

They've done some work since the last time I stayed there. No mold growing in shower. Rooms are small, no fitness center, free continental breakfast, nice restaurant nextdoor. No elevator so if you have lots of stuff and don't want to haul it upstairs be sure to request a downstairs room. It's an older hotel but if you have business in Hammond or want something very close to the nearby Horseshoe Casino it's not bad...just don't expect anything other than a very basic no-frills clean stay.

Perfect location for my visit to Chicago. Good place to stay overnight for picking up my university student. Good value. Nice breakfast. Very convenient.

We chose this Ramada because we were visiting family in the area. We missed having an elevator but the suite we had on the second floor was quite satisfactory.

In town for the Erykah Badu concert and the hotel was great for an overnight stay.

The first room I was given smelled of smoke so bad that I gasped when I walked in. The ants all over the bathroom floor were the reason I asked for a new room though... The second room was better, but the tv did not come in clear and the bathtub was stained. When I took a shower, dark brown water came out of the faucet for about 2 minutes. LOVED the free shuttle to the casino, that was the ONLY positive.

The hotel was very clean and comfortabvle. I would recommend this hotel.

The shuttle service to the casino was great. The shuttle driver was very nice and we didn't have to wait at all.

Everything was clean and the staff friendly - it's a very old noisy hotel and not insulated well - the heater unit had no continuous fan setting - so it would run (noisily) and then shut off - but due to the lack of insulation the room would immediately cool down and the fan kick back on - not a good night's sleep. The restaurant out front was excellent!

It was a great value. Clean, and beautifully decorated for Christmas! The staff was very friendly and courteous. Cookies each nice made a delicious impression!

Hotel was in a questionable area of town, no bathtubs in rooms other than handicapped roms, and I was not offered a room with tub or an explanation even though my daughter is handicapped. Room was not cleaned thoroughly as there was a ziplock bag full of water from the previous occupants; maids only give one shampoo/soap/no conditioner despite there being four of us in the room. The breakfast is mostly average at best pastries and cold cereal-the waffles are square frozen ones to put in a toaster and are not Belgian waffles; this is the extent of any form of hot breakfast. The coffee tastes metallic and is still unpalatable even with sugar and creamer. Interior of the pool was peeling and floating in the water, leaves in the pool, poor customer service overall-the best customer service we received was when I presented the dirty ice bucket to the front-I did get a new one despite the main on my hall not answering her pages because she was eating pastries and gossiping with her co workers where all the customers could see. Despite the fact that I have not only complained to the front desk staff while there but wrote on the comment card, about the most I have received as far as an apology/room upgrade/money refund is a clean ice bucket and blank stares. Thoroughly terrible; I've stayed in many hotels and this is one of the worst, especially for the star rating.

Excellent location, very convenient for a long drive to Chicago. Much less than staying in Chicago. A great value. Good breakfast.

Stay was very convenient since we had a wedding reception at the conference center that connects to the hotel. We all slept very well.
