I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely choose to stay at the Holiday Inn Harbourview again.

The staff are simply remarkable! From the young lady at the front desk to the housekeeping staff, everyone is concerned that your stay is as good as it can be.The facility itself is in need of a major overhaul to bring it up to a standard that is befitting the room rate! Location is directly across the harbour from Halifax. While tour boats charge a $25 bill to take you for a ride in Halifax Harbour, $2 will get you a nice 10 minute ride across the harbour to the heart of downtown Halifax...the terminal is a brief walk from the hotel.

Special mention for Tia, Front Desk; Theresa, Restaurant and Jo-Anne, bar. These people endeavoured and suceeded in making our stay of 6 nights memorable. Try to get an odd number room as high as you can for great views of the Harbour. Great location on opposite side of river to Halifax which is easily reached by bus or preferably ferry which is an experience in itself

great location to halifax ferry. Not too much close by for restarurants but downtown halifax is very close vith many options.

The sink was across the hall from the bathroom, that was odd. I have a few complaints- the bathroom was dusty (thick dust in some areas) and there was a hair on the ledge of the tub, we were not notified of the parking charge upon arrival. We would be fine with charges if they were mentioned before the bill came. The room was fine, the firm/soft pillow signs were a great touch. We mentioned that it would have been nicer if the room had been cleaner but the staff at the front desk didn't seem too concerned.

This was the first time I have ever been asked to pay for parking. I would have thought that the price we paid / night would have covered that. Other than that, no complaints.

we stayed 2 nights June 22 & 23 in room 410 and thought the room was just average....the bathroom could really use some upgrading. The food was excellent in the 101 cafe however they are renovating and should be running power tools when customers are not there. twice this happened which was very frustrating as having a conversation was near impossible....

Very convenient for the bridge to Halifax centre

smallest bathrooms in the industry! Dining room closed for a function...staying in a hotel and NO dining option!! who does this?? staff had a ho-hum attitude about it, saying " isn't it great, somebody booked the whole dining room" NO it's not, we were hungry! on line profile shows non-smoking rooms, and other rooms...property is completely non-smoking, incl. balconies and outside areas. Tired rooms, hard beds, just a dissapointment over all

The hotel was clean and the bed was very nice. Rooms are standard holiday inn rooms. The service wasn't great, I asked about parking and if we had to pay, they said no, sure enough the $23.00 parking bill showed up the morning of check out. Asked about where to find the ferry the front desk clerk told us it didn't run on Saturday nights. I told her my schedule said it did, she ignored me. I walked around and found the ferry terminal and sure enough it ran until just about mid-night. The lack of clear and correct information from the staff is my only complaint. Otherwise the hotel is in a great location, 10 minute walk to ferry terminal and very affordable.

Clean and comfortable. Only thing is that you have to pay for parking, was not notified before hand.

Overall we had a pleasant experience for our stay in Halifax. The room was clean and compfortable and the view of the harbour was impressive. Just an observation, some of the furnishings were starting to show their age.

staff was freindly and helpful I would stay here again.

I've stayed at many hotels but this one was one of the worst. The bathroom was extremely small and the toilet was really low which made it hard for my mother with arthritis to get up. The hotel restaurant has extremely slow service (we waited 45 mins to get an order of toast and an order of bacon and eggs) and it wasn't even that busy that morning. I was disappointed with the location as well. They advertise being walking distance to the ferry terminal but it is a walk all downhill (which means uphill coming back) and it took a lot longer than 10 mins (more like 40) with a small child and an elderly mother. All in all I would not stay there again.

Good location to visit to visit Halifax and clean but worn-out. Noisy AC and the room we got was very small compared to other Holiday Inn hotels. Good price

Hotel was very clean with extremely comfortable beds. it was quiet.......no banging doors or loud noises. Enjoyed the close vicinity to the ferry crossing to Halifax. We parked at the ferry crossing but it was close enough to walk. Would definately choose this hotel again.

Very Pleasant. Not a problem

location good for my needs,not a bad place too stay

There was one thing I was not happy with. One morning I tried to sleep in so I put the do not disturb sign on the door, however, guest services proceeded to knock on the door, woke me up and there goes my sleep. I recommend for the staff to respect the do not disturb signs. All else was wonderful.

Upon booking room, I was told that there was a complimentary shuttle from the Halifax Airport to the Holiday Inn Harbourview, therefore we cancelled family coming to pick us up. Upon arriving at the airport, we were informed we were given the wrong information when we booked and there would be a charge to use the shuttle as there is no complimentary service to this Holiday Inn. The staff at the Holiday Inn said there was nothing they could do about the charge as we had booked through Hotels.ca and it was not their problem. When we booked our room we said we would be arriving around 10:00 a.m. and they assured us of early check-in. Upon arrival to the hotel at 11:00 a.m., we did not get a room until 2:00 p.m.. I am not sure where everyone is getting their information but I wish there was some communication. That was strike 2 on the hotel. Otherwise, the stay wasn't too bad. Still peeved about the shuttle fee.

Not to the stardard of the chain. Room are noisy and restaurant services too long waiting time to get a table. Went elswere for breakfast. In all would not recommend this hotel at present condition. Sorry.....

This hotel had potential but was disappointing in the details. The bathroom to our double room was tiny and the sink, across from the bathroom was less than convenient. The television was blurry at best and there was no mini-refrigerator or microwave included in the room. Finally, the mattresses were soft making a good night's sleep difficult.
