Hôtel Le Royal Lyon - MGallery Collection - ليون

We stayed Hôtel Le Royal Lyon - MGallery Collection for 2 nights. Basically our travel to France was " budget tour", so when we first found the hotel, we wondered if that was the right one or not.(one of the reason was the hotel has no sign of "MGallery Collection" just to have "Le Royal) So we wandered around the neighborhood for a while, and at last we realized that really gorgeous-looking hotel was the one we were going to stay!!! Everythig was so nice there, from the building, equipment,cleanness,atomosphere, location to staff, above all concierges were really kind and helped us a lot, they gave us splendid service. Although the weather was really bad, we fully enjoyed our stay at Hôtel Le Royal Lyon - MGallery Collection thanks to them. Thank you very much for your making reservation for us. We really appreciate that, you made our stay in Lyon special one!

The Hotel Royal Lyon is perfectly situated in down-town. It's very close to the old town and well surrounded by restaurants. My experience was rather disapointing as I had prepaid a Superior room with a double bed. I found that when I arrived that they had put me in a room with two singles. I believe that this room was also smaller than the room I had reserved. This was maddening as the hotel was full and there were no options to reinstate me to my proper room and as all fees had already been paid. There was no offer on the part of the staff to return some of my money or in any other way compensate for the lapse. The staff, in dealing with this issue, lacked professionalism and insulted my husband. I would have expected rather better in a hotel of this calibre. We have stayed at many ordinary Mercure hotels with no incident. No compensation was offerred and no one seemed remotely concerned with the lapse. I think I would choose another hotel when visiting Lyon again, despite the quality of the materials in the room and the location. The attitude displayed towards me soured what I had expected to be a very pleasurable couple of nights.

Overall as advertised. The only thing that really put me down was the strong smell of old place. It was all over - including beddings. If you're smell-sensitive - please consider another hotel.

The hotel is well located on Place Bellecour and within a short walk of the Old Town, the Funicular, the shopping area and a good variety of restaurants. The rooms are tidy but small - comfortable beds but you wouldn't want to stay in them for very long other than to sleep. Service was generally very good. The hotel provides a catering school service and the students were excellent. The lady who ran the restaurant at breakfast, however, was extremely rude and pretty useless. She kept us waiting a good 5- 10 minutes for a table at breakfast without explanation or apology even though there were several tables free. She was very much the exception. There were one or two disappointments. The hotel restaurant was closed for dinner on Sunday and Monday and it was full the other nights that we were there - we couldn't book for dinner any night. This was a particular nuisance on Sunday evening when many if the nearby restaurants were also closed. The bar is also quite expensive. One brandy and one gin and tonic cost 33 Euros. For a typical French hotel (good and not so good) it was a pretty good choice.

From the check-in to the departure was definitely 5-star service. The staff was very helpful and prompt in meeting our needs. The room, as expected, is small for American standards, but the bathroom was rather spacious with a deep tub and shower. The bed was very comfortable. We had a nice view of the square from our room. The extra touches, such as turn-down service with pastries, a good night card with the weather forecast, free bottled water every day, as well as providing bathrobes and slippers added to our overall stay. The breakfast was also 5-star with high qualify foods - hot and cold. We would definitely return.

The location was perfect. right beside metro and central for walking. Hotel is quirky. Rooms quite small but lovely. Balcony looking out onto square.

The Royal is a well-maintained older building in a location convenient to public transport and a ten minute walk to Vieux Lyon (or one metro stop if you prefer). The staff is professional, helpful and generally gracious. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have encountered in a hotel. The room at the de luxe category was quite small, though the bathroom was large.

The staff is extremely attentive and friendly-there is a hotel/restaurant school on the premises and it shows. The rooms are large and well appointed. Great value.

This hotel was just divine and right in the heart of Lyon. We were upgraded to the large corner room at the front of the hotel. We had 3 windows overlooking different aspects of Lyon. The room was perfect and beautifully appointed. I would stay here again!

Perfectly situated between the two rivers and overlooking the central square in Lyon. Adjacent to a metro station and restaurants on your doorstep, this classical hotel ofers everything a traveler could want. The service from the staff is impeccable and the rooms have the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Try the bar for an aperitif before venturing out on an evening. We did not try the restaurant as the main attraction of Lyon is the gastronomical attractions that lie around every corner. There are lots of opportunities to walk off the excess pounds should you have the energy.

Very Smart Hotel in a great location with what I think of as typically French city style. The staff were English speaking, very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay. The drive up to the front of the Hotel was a little daunting as there was nowhere to get off the busy road to unload the car and arrange parking, so as the French do I just stopped and left hazard lights on, know one seem to mind and the car was soon valet parked. Our room was a good size, the best we’d had on this trip, classic French décor with a massive and very soft bed, good size bathroom and all very clean and fresh. The room was well furnished with two big windows over the main street one having French doors to a small balcony all well sound proof once closed, a fridge with mini bar, effective quiet air-conditioning, robes and slippers provided not forgetting a big telly. We did not have tea or coffee making facilities and since breakfast was an extra this would have been nice.

We loved our stay at the Hotel Le Royal Lyon. The hotel and rooms were beautiful and elegant. The staff were great. If you drive there, valet is 19 Euro and there is also a public car park under the Place Bellecour.

The hotel is nice and very charming. The rooms are a bit better than average for France, but not so big. They are comfortable. The only problem is the bed was not so great. but not terrible. Check your bill at this hotel. They charged me for breakfast everyday I was there, but I never had it. They fixed the error when I brought it to their attention. the location is really good and I think the value was good for the price.

Very nice hotel with beautiful and quite large rooms. Friendly staff who were always helpful. Nice RED bar with good music and tasty Champagne! Breakfast was good but rather expensive. € 20.00 pp is much. However, for a day or two it is acceptable.

This hotel is part of a hotel school, so the staff is very professional, the building looks newly renovated, and service is great. The location is convenient to just about everything while being in a neighborhood that isn't terribly loud at night. Best hotel that I stayed in during my 5-city trip through Europe.

Beautiful, modernized, old hotel maintained in outstanding condition. Breakfast is served either in the dining room or via room service for the same price. I ordered breakfast to my room and was dissapointed. However, when I went downstairs and spoke to the Concierge about this a half hour later, she sent me up to the dining room and I had a feast! (And I wasn't charged twice). Across the square are the finest stores in Lyon, and a brisque five minute walk brings you across the bridge to the oldest part of Lyon. I will definitely go back to Lyon and I will definitely stay at this hotel.

We were very pleased with our stay at the hotel. We made a reservation via hotels. com for an early check-in and were most happy to be able to check in at around 9:30 am after our long-haul flight. After freshening up, we were able to catch the sightseeing bus tour at 10:45 am and the bus stop was only literally 100 m from our hotel. The concierge made a good recommendation for lunch at Le Sud. We also tried the restaurant at the hotel, which was also nice. We liked the deco of the hotel. The room was a bit on the small side though the bathroom was spacious. Valet parking was available at around EUR7 for overnight. One minor issue is that the hotel was out of electricity for some time during one afternoon but I guessed that's more the problem of Lyon, rather than the hotel itself.

Acceuil chaleureux, literie excellente, petit déjeuner parfait. Certaines chambres, surtout leur salle de bain ne méritent pas plus de 3 * . Corridor à rénover absolument. Odeurs de cuisine dans l'escalier et les corrdior.

Hôtel plein de charme, idéalement placé. Nous avons été séduit par le confort avec l'impression de dormir dans de la ouate. Le petit déjeuner avec ses produits "maison" nous a émerveillé.

Séjour très sympathique passé dans cet hôtel se trouvant en plein coeur de Lyon. Possibilité de garer sa voiture dans un endroit sécurisé à proximité de l'hôtel, personnel avenant, peu de bruits. Juste la literie laisse à désirer, sinon tout était parfait !!!

très sympa, bonne situation géographique, chambre bien équipée et très bien insonorisée, literie excellente, mais couloir d'accès aux chambres qui mériterait d'être refait et mobilier de la chambre vieillissant, abimé. On ne s'attend pas à cela compte tenu du niveau de gamme de l'hotel. Cela gache un peu le plaisir..

Cet hôtel est quasi idéal en termes de localisation à Lyon (hyper central, métro au pied, ...) et de confort: tout récemment rénové, silence absolu même côté place, ... Petit bémol: un peu cher par rapport à la taille de la chambre dans laquelle la baignoire est réellement trop petite, où manque un petit fauteuil... mais ce sont des détails. Accueil très pro et.... membre de l'Institut Paul Bocuse ce qui permet des petits déjeûners très raffinés.

Great location and very clean modern rooms, however a wee bit small. Only negative aspect was restaurant that obviously had quite high ambitions, but fell short in execution. It was noit a disaster, but I expected higher from students at institut Paul Bocuse.

Si un nouveau séjour se présente sur Lyon, ce sera très probablement ma destination pour dormir. merci de votre accueil ...

Als regelmatige reiziger, zo'n 3 maanden per jaar verblijvend in hotels over de wereld. Twee dagen in dit hotel verbleven. Hadden een royal suite geboekt. Genoeg ruimte alleen de kwaliteit laat te wensen over. Douche was van slechte kwaliteit, tegels los, delen van het plafond los en als je de douche aanzette knalde de douchkop eraf. Regular koffie was op en niet te leveren. Ontbijt is prima. Valet parking ook. Ligging gaat wel. Het is gelegen aan een plein dat weer aan een grote winkelstraat ligt. Niets bijzonders. Leuke restaurant s vind je toch in de oude stad aan de andere kant van de rivier. Tweede dag gewisseld van kamer. Dit werd een junior suite. Op zich wel prima. Maar ook hier laat de kwlaiteit die je zou mogen verwachten te wensen over. Bruine kalkaanslag door de hele douche. Vies tapijt etc. Voor twee nachten slapen prima te doen. Maar absoluut niet voor deze prijs.

Hotel tres bien situe, chambre spacieuse. Restaurant petit mais à decouvrir le soir. Petit dejeuner copieux et tres agreable.

Für das Fète des Lumiers liegt das Hotel optimal. Aber auch andere Sehenswürdigkeiten sind via Metro Station Bellecour schnell erreichbar (z. Bsp. Lumière Museum. Einzig negativer Punkt ist der hohe Frühstückspreis: 20 Euro und darum haben auf dieses verzichtet.

Romantisk og hjemmekoselig hotell! Vil spesiellt bemerke sengen, den hadde ”Royal comfort”, det er den beste hotellsengen jeg har sovet i! Et hotell jeg absolutt anbefaler!

Hotellet är hur fint som helst, ligger nära allt och har högsta standard. Som svensk blir jag dock irriterad på att det kostar €20 extra per person för frukost, helt orimligt dessutom för macka, jos, marmelad yogurt och kaffe...
