Entrance was impressive but room (junios suite) was worn out, propably from 60's or 70's without any renovation. I guess that is one reason for the low price.

Comfortable, clean and convenient location. Excellent holiday spent!! highly recommended!

We stay at the Copthorne Orchid for three nights. We found the hotel in all respect, as very good. Good location and overlooking the sea. Daily shuttle bus service to the market was a bonus. We would certainly come back to stay here again. Nusrat & Sheekeb

Totally disappointed. Thick dust on the door frame. Towels provided dont look clean and one of the towel is torn.

Well what can I say .. it is not to the quality you would expect from a mellinium hotel. The front desk staff was good and it was nice having a relatively private beach area but that is it. The Hotel is run down and dirty. Lights were not working, TV never did even though we asked for it to be fixed a couple of times, walls had black smudges, Vents you could see were filled with dust and I would say thats what got all of us sick on the trip!! the bathroom fixtures had parts missing, tub had paint pealing on the sides, bath mat had black mold stuff on it ( at least wash them out in hot water & bleach once a week. Same goes for the shower curtians) towels we got had torn ends. food is so so , there is an indian restaurant about a 2min walk to across the street which you can get everything at and cheaper, so eat there. Not worth getting the breakfast. A one star hotel !!! it does have potential if they cleaned it up, take out the disgusting carpet ( keep your slippers on when walking around the room) put in tile, paint the place inside & out, use some of the batick prints they have have for curtians, bed skirts and covers, clean the vents. & make the bathrooms like they did the lobby and pool area. The lobby area is the only modern nice looking clean bit. None of the rooms or outside areas are.

An unexpected surprise as it had an unassuming small entrance - My requirements for my accommodation was to relax by the sea following a 4 day stay in a town hotel. All my requirements were fulfilled ie not too far to access the town for continued sightseeing as the traffic from Batu Ferringhi to the town centre is a nightmare; access to a beach, pool, spa; access to good local food. I had all the above including a very very comfortable queen bed, excellent courteous service from all, clean common areas, good room service and the food was reasonable and delicious, free internet at the coffeeshop (expensive in the business office). Downsides were: the hotel is old and need refurbishing, extra attention to details in cleaning of my room would have been appreciated, air conditioning noisy and at times had a strange smell. Overall the comfort, the price of the room (booked via net was amazing value) and the truly courteous service made my stay and I would return.

After staying at the Copthorne in Singapore we did'nt hesitate to book again with the Copthorne,as the one in Singapore also needed a facelift so does this one, the room was clean with fresh towels and linen everyday. The breakfast wasn't that great but was enough to get you to lunch time. Staff should be highly recommended as they make you feel like royalty they are at your service with a smile at all times even great to joke with. The location was perfect with the bus stop right outside and the fares are cheap as well as the hotel shuttle you are never stuck to go anywhere.We would definately stay there again ....

Hotel romm was very satisfactory. Staff were helpful. The beds were too firm for us.

On our 1st night here, we decided to eat at the hotel restaurant since it was too late to head out. The restaurant made us the worst pizza we've ever seen, smelled or tasted in our lives. The wine tasted sour and old like a bottle that has been left unused long after opening. My minestrone soup had cauliflowers in a weak thin broth that tasted of nothing. We decided to be decent and send back just the pizza, a request that met with a lot of resistance. Also paid for a sea view room and got the last room in the row which mainly looked out to 2 buildings by the sea. The payment page said nothing about a partial view, and our friends down the door were not as unlucky. I wonder why we were. Try to avoid staying here if you can. If you have to, then def avoid the food!

The hotel is quite old, but it a very good place to stay for a vacation trip, the room is big, and I was actually upgraded to the deluxe room from superior room, overall, the hotel is worth the money, I will recommend to everyone.

The experience was unpleasant even before we saw our rooms. The receptionist who checked us in was rude and surly, who turned smirking into a competitive sport. Her first words to us were "Reservation?", instead of "Good morning" or "Hello". When we asked when our room would be ready, she simply said "No idea", with a shrug. When we asked for a feedback form, our room was magically made available on the spot. The room itself had missing drawers, missing cabinet knobs and sand in the sheets. It was also lacking towels, which took housekeeping half an hour to send up. Wi-fi is not available in the room even if you're willing to pay for it, but you are welcome to re-live the area of the dialup connection if you're desperate. The beach layout itself was a disappointment, consisting of a few deck chairs strewn about in a cursory manner. If you're driving to the hotel, best not to park in the underground carpark. If you stand downwind of the sewage pipe that runs through the carpark (helpfully labelled "swage pipe"), you will smell its contents. The trek from the carpark to the hotel lobby will take you past a garishly red corridor, during which you will pass a karaoke lounge and - god help you - whomever is caterwauling in there at the moment. On the relatively thin upside, the bathroom was acceptably clean, you only have to flush the toilet twice each time and the shower pressure was decent. Wi-fi in the coffeehouse is free, and you can stay there for as long as you want to use it because the staff are too busy having a grand time behind the counter to come over and take your order. If you must stay in Tanjung Bunga, try its neighbours instead. Every single one of them looked like a better bet than Copthorne Orchid Hotel Penang.

This hotel was a pleasure to stay at. 24 hour reception was a bonus with late flight arrivals. The staff were excellent and very good with local knowledge. Buses at the door, free hotel shuttles go well also. Yes I will stay again.

As others mentioned the hotel is a bit old however with the price it charges it really worth every penny. Bed a bit hard, the tennis court side is very noisy because of the fan, a bit of sea view and the pool area is nice. Breakfast is very simple. Rapid Penang is right outside of the hotel and it brings you to George town and Batu Ferringhi. Overall, I enjoyed the stay and if looking for last weekend by the pool with a bit of sea view this is a good deal.

The hotel is not that accessible to the city area hence it is good for private functions like retreat. Not much selection of local Penang delights. Limited food choices. Overall the rooms are clean.

On the beach - I mean right ON the beach with a perfectly maintained gorgeous beach garden and fabulous pool. Breakfast was excellent. The room pristine with comfortable beds and fine amenities. We had some difficulties with our next destination and the staff sorted it all out for us. There are restaurants nearby but not much else to do other than the Toy Museum adjacent to the hotel. However, the hotel provides free shuttle into the centre city and to the night markets where we found a brilliant restaurant and amusement for the evening. We also hired a car and driver at a very reasonable rate to take us to points of interest. I would definitely stay there again.

The room is big and very convenient for those with small kid Seaview Good swimming pool with cafe provided with free wifi... has personal beach with beautiful landscape I can conclude that everything is ok except the hotel need for a new painting

(1) Outside of hotel needs to be painted, it seems hotel very dirty and hotel short of fund for painting. (2) New papers of each languages shall be provided for different races.

The Copthorne Orchid Hotel, Penang, is a "medium-older" style hotel (I would guess 1970's built) in good condition. Large open-feeling rooms, big window/doors, beach views. Service was excellent and helpful. WiFi Internet was NOT available per room, but only @ a common entertainment area / pool-side, which was a slight inconvenience, however that area was very pleasant to remain at, anyway. Over-all I'd give the Copthorne Orchid a 4 out of 5.

It is worth for the money, nice and clean, beautiful seaview. Only the mattress, pool tower need upgrade!

The hotel was very nice compared to the price. Very nice clean swimming pool, great location and the view from the hotel was super from both the pool and the room. Service was very good (for Malaysia). The only minus was the in-house food which in my opinion was too pricy. The free shuttle busses made it easy to get around as the location is close to both Georgetwon and Batu Ferringi. All in all - the place I would surely go again next time.

it was much more then we expected.compared what we payd. beautiful hotel. very nice people, and they all speak very good english.

Room is very decent and nice, however, I think the particualr room we checked into had a small issue with the bed. Because the TV is in front of a corner of the bed, if you sit at THAT corner, you'll feel it sink! Probably because that is everyone's favourite spot! Another thing that could have made our stay a little better was the TV. Reception was poor, screen was small, and the number of channels were quite limited. I'm pretty sure many familes go to Penang for holidays, bringing their children along (we met many familes there), but surprisingly, there weren't any kids' channels! Everything else was good. Hotel provided free shuttles to the city, main shopping areas and night market, had nice big pool, small but decent gym. Only "bad" thing is that it didn't have a good access to the beach. And if you're on the 9-19 floor, your seaview is most likely blocked by an irritating private condominium just beside the hotel

Hotel was good , well run, the only down side was the bedroom decoration it was very tired and the furniture was needing upgraded

switch inside room cannot function. my room have 5 current switch but 2 of the switch cannot function well. Blanket no so clean, still have some hair was left on blanket. but overall still nice. nearly beach. i think i will consider for staying this hotel again. hopefully the cost of hotel will reduce again.

Hotellet hadde en egen liten privat strand, noe som var ett stort pluss. Ellers var det langt fra alt. 15 min t markedet og hovedstranden, fra 20 - 45 min inn til sentrum, avhengig av trafikk. Etter vasking av rommet var det bestandig laaaange svarte hår i senga å i badekarret, ganske ekkelt. Rommene var gammle og luktet røyk. Trenger seg virkelig en oppussing

The hotel has a secluded private beach, the beach is rather rocky and not very good so not an ideal place for swimming. However since the only very few people use to beach it size problem is easily remedied. There is also a private pool, very clean and also not very crowded. Hotel facilities are old, but all basic amenities are provided with good standard, considering the price competitiveness there's not too much complaint.

今回は7年ぶりの二度目の滞在でしたが、古さもさほど感じることなく、満足しました。部屋もマンション側ではなかったので良かったです。ただ無線ＬＡＮは部屋でＯＫにしてほしいです。だめならばせめて１階のロビーでも使用したいです。 次回はよろしくお願いします。

훌륭하진 않지만 갖춰야할 시설들을 적절히 갖추고 있고 모든 객실이 바닷가를 향해 있는 점이 좋았다. 해변에 입지했지만 해변의 크기는 작아서 딱히 매력적이진 않음. 객실을 오래되긴 했지만 쾌적했고 직원들의 서비스도 괜찮은편. 유럽등지의 나라에서 학생들 단체 여행 숙소로 많이 이용되는 호텔인듯.

如题，且入住时候没有收任何押金，类似汉庭的无停留，很方便，自助午餐比较丰富且价格合理，唯一的瑕疵是客房无网络，只能到餐厅上网，位置离乔治市和巴都丁宜之间，景色秀丽

Nice staff, good room. My booking was at the tower buildning, but I wanted a full seaview, so I changed into the terrace buling (floor 3-6, deluxe room). from there the view was just amazing, watching the sunrise and the sunset and the beach and the sea. It`s well worth paying a bit extra for that. Own balcony. I am not a swimming pool type of person, but it looked great. I preferred to bath in the sea. There are bulit some stones to make a shelter from the waves, and inside this area it is nice to have a bath. Not many people at the beach, sometimes only me, but this wasn`t either a school holiday period. More people by the swimming pool:) Food expensive to be in Malaysia, but that is usual at resorts at good as this, and there is food stalls nearby for those who prefer that. I would say in walking distance in this area not much to see except for the sea. But that is enough:) Shutter bus for free to Georgetown every day leaves the hotel 1130, and returns 1730. No internet connection in each room, only in the restaurant/ swimming pool area. A bit slow in periods, but overall working quite good. The hotel has a nice garden.

Trevlig och mycket hjälpsam personal. Hotellet är nästan finare än på bilderna och en hiss till stranden är aldrig fel! Maten var också bra även om den är dyrare än om man äter ute. Prisvärt hotell!

Ett hotell med ovanligt trevlig personal som gav lite familjekänsla. Buss som går var 10:e minut minst till Centrala Georgetown, tar cirka 30 minuter. Hotellet har även en egen strand som är ok. Många och bra matställen i närheten.
