I really enjoyed my stay. The rooms were nice and comfy.

We had a great experience. Quality room and bed, nice and convenient location, friendly staff & good tips from concierge. If there was a minor gripe it would be cost of in room WiFi as other places may include it - that being said the business centre has computers with internet. Thanks for making our 3 night stay so enjoyable.

At first we found it odd that there was no information in the room about the hotel itself (services, fees, etc.) nor its owner, but then a friend told us that the hotel had been sold but the deal had fallen through or something . . . Anyway, the hotel clearly had no identity, from its inconsistent decor to its difficult to locate loby. The worst part was that we couldn't seem ever to get enough towels; one evening it took three calls to housekeeping before they finally delivered to us the two clean bath towels that the maid never left that day. Also, the room didn't have a coffee maker, and there was no place downstairs to get a cup of coffee. Thank goodness for a Seven-Eleven nearby because the hotel wanted $10 to deliver a pot of brewed coffee to us (plus additional service charge and gratuity). Fortunately, we had a deal on the room price or else we would have felt cheated.

The hotel was absolutely fabulous. Location is PERFECT for all city attractions, most importantly shopping! The hotel was very nice, we had a wonderful view of the Chicago river. Everything in our room was perfect. The only problems were between the room and outside. Crimson lounge is located right from the lobby, and I don't know if there was an event or something going on but my sister and I got the impression it was sort of a party hotel. There were tons of young adults down our hall with music blaring, but when they were asked to turn it down they did immediately. Also, we would find half drank cups of alcohol all over the hotel, and once on the floor or the elevator. The worst part, and the sole reason for my overall rating of a four was that when we were leaving there was a dirty toilet brush on the floor of the elevator. All these things were surprising to me though as the hotel was otherwise flawlessly clean and the staff were incredibly polite. I would stay there again, its my hope that was just one bad weekend.

We enjoyed our stay at the Sax! The staff is very friendly and willing to do anything to make your stay the best!

We were overall very pleased with our stay at the Sax. The location was great, there were plenty of good restaurants closeby, and it was just around the corner from Andy's Jazz Club. Our only complaint about our room was the location directly across from the elevator bank but it ended not being too noisy. There was a mistaken minibar charge on our final bill but the hotel removed it immediately at checkout. One thing that was kind of cool -- when it began to rain the hotel distributed nice, big umbrellas to all the rooms on our floor. Good customer service!

There was no microwave...no refrigerator...the wifi wasn't free...no breakfast... Not quite worth the price

Very good hotel, great location. Only minor complaint - there needed to be a comfortable chair in the room as well as the desk chair.

Great hotel and staff. Perfect location, close to both the red and brown line and Michigan Ave. Will stay there again.

We went for spring break week, wasn't too crowded. Apparently hotel changed ownership the day we checked in, though it had no affect on our stay. The location can't be beat, on north side of the river, walking distance to most tourist attractions, right next to the House of Blues. I felt the double bed room was a bit small for 2 adults and 1 child. TV channels are limited. Beds could be a little more comfortable but weren't terrible. Wireless internet costs extra, but front desk gave me a complimentary access code which worked the entire stay. Bathroom was decent. Toiletries (except soap) are communal so if you don't like that idea, bring your own. There is no fridge, only a mini-bar. There are stores nearby to purchase your own refreshments and such, if you desire. The price to park our car was a bit high but was worth keeping it safe considering we didn't take it out at all during our stay. Bellmen were pleasant and welcoming. Overall, I was pleased with the stay and the value we got through online search.

The staff was very accommodating. I was even upgraded to a suite because the person at the from desk felt bad for met with all my driving and traveling. This a old looking hotel with carpet from the 80's. Their were stains on the curtain that separated my room from the living room area.. UGH disgusting. I absolutely hated this hotel. Will I go BAck. NO!!!!!

The sax is pretty close to everything and it was clean and comfortable.

The staff were lovely and helpful. The hotel is close to the subway and walking distance to shopping and other attractions. We had a great stay and would certainly go back! For the price and location, the Sax Chicago is a great choice.

We stayed here for a long weekend and were very pleased with our experience. The location is ideal, the surrounding area had some great restaurants, shops and walking tours! Highly recommend this hotel!!

This is a great, easy, convenient, comfortable, and clean place to stay.

I have stayed in many Chicago hotels. I go to a convention every year for the past 25. Usually, I stay in the Hotel 71, Hard Rock, or Blackstone Renaissance. This is my first time at the Hotel Sax and I was very impressed. The location is wonderful, close enough to Loop locations but not IN the loop. You feel very much like you are in River North but also you are a bit away from that hubbub. For me, perfectly situated. I don't know if all rooms have a view, but it looks like the hotel only faces north and south. I had a great view out my window to Marina Towers, the river, and the old Carbon and Carbide building. The hotel bar is oddly victorian in decoration--someone told me it was an old blues club. But Bin 36 is a top notch winebar / restaurant. My only tiny complaint is the fee for WiFi, but there you can work in the lobby or there is a close Starbucks. Great choice and I'd definitely go there again.

This hotel looked really cool on-line, but in reality it was pretty disappointing. There are NO amenities what-so-ever. The room had a broken lamp, banged up furniture and dirty windows. The Pay-per-view did not work and you had to pay for Wifi.

Capable, friendly staff across the board. Concierge very helpful. Restaurant good and lounge really cool. Located in a great place. Very comfortable room..

Loved my stay at the Sax Thompson in Chicago. Within walking distance of so many restaurants and sights. The staff was friendly and accomodating. The room was luxurious and comfortable. I will definitely be going back!

My wife thought it was free and she filled out the log in. We were charged $15 for her mistake and they would not reverse the charges.

Very comfortable hotel in downtown chicago.We were very pleased with comfort of the beds after long haul flight. Also its close to river walk and clark st/lake blue line station making it easy to get from Ohare airport. We would go there again. Restaurant next door was a little expensive and we didn't like charged 6 dollars for water in the room ..but this is minor point and there are plenty of other eating places Recommend this.

My daughter and I stayed for 2 days. Hotel staff extremely courteous and helpful and nice!! Price very fair. Location sooo convenient - we walked to Miracle Mile with no problem. House of Blues right next door! Room was clean, comfortable.

This was a great location and a fantastic hotel. The staff was very helpful and courteous. I have found a new favorite Chicago hotel.

We liked the hotel and our stay was pleasant. Our only complaint would be about a few little things. There was not a comfortable place to sit in the room. The desk chair was not conducive to relaxing and we had to sit on the beds when we were in the room. Also, the bathroom was nice and big, but it would have helped to have a couple hooks on the door, near the shower, etc., to place a towel, robe, etc. When we ordered breakfast through room service, there was no place to really sit and enjoy our meal.

Ive been coming here for just over a year now....i love it. Cozy rooms, pleaseant staff, good location. I've proabably stayed here 20 times already, and always feel welcome and comfortble. My only issues are that I hate payong for wireless, as ts a silly thing to charge for. Also, it would be nice to have just a bit more as far as in-rrom service, like a coffee machine. Otherwise, always a good visit.

convenient location close to all things chicago has to offer. i would definitely stay there again!

I highly recommend the Hotel Sax. It's close to everything, the staff was super accommodating, it was clean, comfortable, very safe and the rooms spotless. It was well worth the money. I will stay there again.

Very trendy hotel with small rooms. Lots of Eueropean guests, business road warriors contrasted with locals and kids. Accessible to everything withing walkin distance.

The Sax Hotel was perfectly situated, close to all the major landmarks in Chicago and surrounded by several excellent restaurants. We were satisfied with our stay in general. Something that could have been better was the concierge service, which was very limited and not available in the evening hours. Also, the hotel was not associated with a conventional restaurant. Bin36, which is the hotel service, is more of a wine and cheese bar. This was inconvenient for late arrivals when all you really want is a hot meal after being on a long flight.

The staff at Sax were very pleasant and accommodating. I needed a quiet get away and my room gave me that, peace and quiet. The location was also great and within walking distance of where my meeting was located. There are also good places to eat within walking distance as well.

We have stayed at Hotel Sax on more than one occasion and continue to be really happy with our experiences. The rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable and it is QUIET which is hard to come by in many hotels in Chicago. We love the location and try to stay here if we can.

Great service, cleanliness and over hospitality. I've stayed at this hotel many times and it never disappoints. The bell staff, front desk professionals and the concierge are super nice and helpful.

Great hotel..great location. Service was wonderful and concierge was very informed about area and services. Didn't realize the had free (very good) coffee in the lobby early in the morning!

Good location for a meeting I was attending. Handy to Merchandise Mart and good shopping just across the river. Good value for money
