Wonderful!!!

Easy access, friendly & helpful staff, comfortable room and breakfast. What more could you ask for????

I booked this hotel because it was close to "Walkway Over The Hudson". I'm not a very picky person, however, cleanliness is important to me. The hotel is a bit overly priced but I'm still glad I stayed here. The staff was nice (freshly baked cookies was a nice touch) , breakfast was decent and they offer 24 hour coffee and tea, plenty of parking spaces (although it seemed the hotel wasn't full), and free internet. Our room was clean with the exception of a strand of hair that I found on my bed, nice size with a sofa bed and coffee table. The bathroom was a good size and the view would have been awesome had we stayed during the summer as it was on the first floor, room 104 and faced the outdoor pool. Overall it was worth the visit and I would stay here again.

We stopped in Poughkeepsie to visit Vassar college in town and Colombia and NYU in the city. The location is great. Train station is literally 5 minutes away. So, we took the train to Grand Central ($22 peak time and $17 return) which worked for us as I did not want to deal with finding parking in Manhattan. Service at the hotel was A plus. Front desk was excellent. Breakfast is included, the standard Holiday Inn fare. I recommend this place

The room was pretty nice and comfortable. The shower head was terrible and the drain plug was broken. Does not result in a very pleasant showering experience. Other than that it was a decent place for an overnight stay.

There was blood on our sheets...

Enjoyed our stay! Only problem was having hot water at 10:30 AM. Perhaps all the other guests who showered earlier used all the hot water??

I'll come back to stay again.

All together, great hotel. Only negative, shower produced very little hot water. All other aspects were very good !

I've stayed here many times to visit my daughter attending The Culinary. Very convenient, clean, and friendly staff, so I will definitely stay again. There were warm chocolate chip cookies on the front desk when I arrived, perfect to unwind after a long trip with a cup of tea from the 24 hour beverage station. The shuttle service wasn't running, so I had to take a taxi from the train station, and the desk clerk refunded my fare. That was top notch!

Some noise from the road could be disturbing at night.

Nice enough place. Most others in the immediate area are very sketchy. Only stayed one night so I don't want to gush, but had a positive experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast bar, while a little bit small, was good quality. Kids up to 18 stay free, no pets. I just couldn't get comfortable with the pillows provided. The bed was neither bad nor good. Disliked that the fridge was deactivated so it was not cold on arrival, and then we couldn't tell if it was working right after we turned it on. Didn't think to compensate with ice from the machine.

Room was very clean and comfortable. The Staff was very friendly and helpful. The only draw back was there was no place to eat with in walking distance. Since I didn't have a car that was a bit of a problem. Next time I visit I will rent a car. I would definetly stay here again.

Nice basic hotel. A bit older, but pretty well remodeled. Nice breakfast.

Overall it's a great place to stay. Roomy and clean with a large refrigerator and a microwave. Free breakfast could use some more variety though. It's only two miles from the world's longest elevated walking path...the Poughkeepsie Walkway. A must see.

Close to son's wedding venue. Convenient to main highway. Very comfortable

It was most satisfactory. The cookies were wonderful.

Excellent service from front desk. Good breakfast, although pancake maker was not working. Location good for out of town, but on busy road.

the rooms are always clean. no problem with the service.if there is a problem it is resolved with out any excuses. for example: the first room given us had very loud guests next door. could hear them over the t.v. the manager at the desk changed our room immediately,no problem.

Everything about this hotel was perfect. Clean, friendly service, COMFORTABLE BEDS and much much more. Don't hesitate booking this hotel. This place was great!

Pretty surprised that this this hotel was given such a high rating. It was at best very average and not one bit better than other less expensive hotels in the area.

The hotel was fine for a college visit. Very clean. Our only complaint is that most of the channels listed on the card in the room did not have a signal.

We checked into the hotel, took a shower in fifteen minutes, and left. We returned that evening, gathered our two bags, and checked out. It smelled like cigarette smoke, was musty, and humid. Couple that with the fact that we had to wait ten minutes for a broken elevator and it was horrible.

My 2nd visit to this Holiday Inn Express to visit my daughter at the CIA, and as good as the 1st. Great staff; very helpful; and I had a free, surprise upgrade from a double to a king room when I checked in. Pool and exercise room are very nice; very filling and hot b'fast items; only complaint is the ADA bathroom was nice and spacious, but the toilet paper was on the opposite wall from the toilet: not an easy reach for me, so can't imagine how disabled would manage. Will definitely stay again.

There was no vending machines for water/soda or snacks.

Overall, the staff here is outstanding and go out of their way to try and help you / see to your needs. They are very concerned with your comfort. The facility itself is nice, but the rooms show some signs of shoddy construction, bed is "ok" and the wireless internet is slower than my phone's 3G connection. On the plus side, the complimentary breakfast is outstanding. Would stay here again, especially if I can get a good discount.

Clean, spacious room with great size refrigerator. Nice looking decor - great bathroom and comfy bed. Breakfast was great as well.

Overall this place is a nice stay. Clean and neat rooms. The breakfast sucks (the food is more like synthetic). The service at the reception is mediocre (at its best)...otherwise, all well.

We were in town for a soccer tournament in Highlands.. this was very close and had a variety of places to eat nearby. The room was very clean and the A/C was EXTREMELY COLD!! Which I loved and controlled myself!! The pool was great for the kids! Will stay here again next year!!

Hotel employees extremely nice, and helpful regarding restaurants - and just generally very friendly. I appareciated it after long drive. Basic, clean room - nothing special, but perfectly okay.

With a summer in the high 90s, I picked this hotel because of the pool, and I was not disappointed. It is not a full-sized pool, but neither is it a token mini-pool. It is well screened and shaded, half 3' and half 8'. I could do laps easily. My husband is more interested in cleanliness and amenities of the room and the quality of the breakfast. He was delighted by both. Everything is new and updated. We would certainly recommend this hotel very highly as good value for the money.

Transportation in Poughkeepsie leaves a lot to be desired. The Holiday Inn Express shuttle will take you where you want to go....rental car agency, train station...when you want to go. You can leave your car and take the train to NYC. The service was excellent and friendly!
