Old school when it is at its best ! Why stay on the Strip when you can stay down town, the perfect Las Vegas experience. Recommend you stay a few nights down town and the rest on the strip.

Perfect location for access to down town. Great room price--great room.

The bathroom smelled of urine but come to find out it was the shower curtain smell, I think

Room was very clean and comfortable. Close to a lot of things to do all night long. Beautiful huge pool and fish tank that was a fun time. The only thing was they said over size shower and tub but it was a basic shower tub combo. Hotels usually give you complimentary coffee in your room but here they charge you 10 dollars for 2 cups. Wow that's more than starbucks!

Pool area is far too crowded. Restaurants are quite good.

We were really pleased with everything would stay there again.

wish I could have won some money

First, I paid for an upgraded suite in the recently renovated Rush tower. The room is decent, but not worth the extra expense. I visited my cousin's room in the Carson tower (lower rates) only to discover that the rooms are not terribly different. In fact, he had a much better view and a quieter stay. If that's not bad enough, the maitre d' (named Blaze) at the Grotto was extremely pompous, pretentious, and rude. Plus, many if our party had different rooms in the Rush tower. After the maid cleaned the room, our cards stopped working. Hotel management tried saying that we demagnetized the cards with our cellphones; yes, the six of us managed to demagnetize our room cards with our cellphones at roughly the same time. I guess we're gifted that way and the basic laws of probability don't apply to us. But hey, mistakes happen, right? My issue is that hotel management was patronizing and rude in handling these matters. So, if you hope to receive good customer service for your money, you may want to reconsider your accommodations and avoid the Golden Nugget!!!!

My stay was great the hotel is beautiful the room was great. We had 3 people stay in our room our only complaints is that they never gave us 3 glasses to use, they never replaced the coffee cups so we ran out of cups the blow dryer wouldn't work on high if you used it on high it would turn off and I would have to wait to turn it back on or use it on low/med. This is the 3rd time we have stayed there and outside of those little quirks we would stay there again.

Overall the hotel and the service was very nice, but there didn't seem to be any perks or deals. They even charge you for the in room coffee. Never had to pay for that before! Ever!

Bed was uncomftable location was horrible

Nice and fun but this hotel is far from the strip...

Long check-in, key card wouldn't work first time

Checking in was quick and customer service very nice...they checked us in early no problem! Rush Tower was booked, so we stayed at the Carson Tower. I was very pleased with the room...the bed...the best I've ever slept in as far as hotels. I couldn't believe it... Food was excellent...ate at the Grotto and the Grill! Didn't get a chance to try the sushi place...but will definately next time. Pool was great..always entertained by the sharks and fish.. and the slide a lot of fun. Was able to find a chair fairly easy. People staying there all seemed very nice as well.! Will definately come stay again! Played a lot of video poker and the bartenders were great! Always checking your drink and giving refill if needed! Love the Golden Nugget!

Our first stay here and we had our three kids, 8,10,&11...they absolutely loved the pool , and so did we. They were able to swim while we got some play time at the card tables thereThe room was very big and was a perfect fit for all of us. The room was also very clean and up to date. I was very satisfied. The one thing I would like to see change is the check in wait line. A bit long but for the great service it was well worth it!!! Vegas is not a place for kids but this hotel made it a nice stay for us and the rate was awesome. Lots of choices for breakfast lunch and dinner within walking distance, and souvenir shopping at great prices right downstairs..

We had a great time. We weren't too pleased with the over crowded pool. Apparently in order to go to the "adult only" pool, you have to have reservations so be prepared if you don't want to be surrounded by kids.... EVERYWHERE! Also if you want coffee in the morning, bring your K-cups. It is a Keurig machine BUT you have to pay $10.00 for 3 K-cups. We stayed here previously so knew ahead of time to bring them. We went to the "club" Gold Diggers and it was pretty nice. Overall it was a nice stay.

Hotel and facilities were great. Room had plenty of space and was nicely furnished. Good facilities with shops and restaurants within the complex. The hotel was a long way from the strip and the rest of the night life.

would be better if customers made aware that a reservation is not guaranteed unless you buy vip pkg.....also had problem cashing out chips because of one person shooting the sxxx. had to complain and got my chips cashed at a supervisor desk...line was approv 30 deep and waited at least 20 minutes...never seen this before at any casino

i enjoyed my stay very much

Very nice location....Will attend again

Although this may be one of the cleanest hotels in Fremont I was'nt all that impressed. The food was bad, I did like the pool area. We checked in and a few hours later I discovered the shower did not work, we called the front desk and they were not very helpful in trying to fix it. They wanted to give us a discount on the room for the shower not working which we refused . We asked to be moved to another room with a working shower and they wanted to charge us for THEIR shower not working! We did ask to speak with a manager and they eventually moved us to another room but it must not have been cleaned too well because the bathroom reaked of urine. I didnt feel like going through another hour long argument to be moved again and since it was only a one night stay we just didnt use the bathroom unless we really needed to. All in all the casino and pool area are nice, the service and rooms are not all that impressive.

I was very satisfied with the hotel and its amenities. The staff was courteous and pleasant. I can't wait until my next stay!

I stayed in the Rush Tower and the rooms are wonderful. Big bathroom with robes, slippers, nice TV, sitting area, and lots of space. Very quiet at night but only a short walk to the excitement on Fremont St. One gripe I had was a lack of electical outlets. I had to iron my shirt in the bathroom because there are no outlets in the bedroom/living room area. Odd. The Italian restaurant, Grotto, was perfectly decent and had a reasonable price. The pool is amazing.

This hotel is not really family orientated. I have a 9 and 11 year olds and there was little to do for them at this hotel. We ended up staying an extra night but booked it at a place with more kid friendly amenities and it cost less.

Loved it. Can't wait to go back. No need to leave the hotel. Everything was there. Great dinner at the chart house with awesome bartender from Jersey.

There is nothing negative I could say about this hotel. I always enjoy my stay at the Golden Nucket. This year I booked a room for my mother and seperate rooms for my two brothers. I was able to request-in-advance, a disabled/handicap room for my brother and a little scooter to assist with his mobility. The Golden Nugget staff gauranteed that all my brothers' needs were met upon chech-in. My family had the best of times during our stay at this hotel.

If you are going to stay in the fremont and not go to the strip the hotel is nice. Rush tower rooms are big and plush. The italyan restaurant there is expensive and the food was okay. I would definitely stay here again.

I really liked the atmosphere - However had some issues when we rented the cabana on our first day and found ourselves sitting in full shade by 2pm when we were told we would be in full sun. The front desk did nothing to rectify the situation - were it not for our waitress (ashley) you would have one very disatisfied customer!!

The Golden Nuget is very well maintained for its age. The help was awesome. Thanks to there craps lessons, I made out pretty good. I would stay again, and I would recomend Hotels.com

beautiful place. THE ONLY problem or issue we had was it was far to walk to casino, with our handicapps. shoujld have been a shorter way to get there. otherwise fantastic

Golden Nugget is really nice in decor and bedding! Awesome comfort. Totally updated. Pool is interesting, but poolside chairs crammed in like sardines in the sunny areas, or pay to be on sundeck up above. No specials or coupons from anywhere in the hotel,unlike other places in downtown area. Quite cheap on room rate, but very expensive otherwise for buffet, drinks, etc. Still great to be there when going to Fremont Experience..just stagger to room!
