Terrible hotel,...staff members dont help at all, in special if they have problems with availability of rooms...you may sleep on the road. DONT STAY THERE!

Overall I liked my stay pretty much except for the following issues. One problem I had was that the shower temperature moves around without control from hot to cold. This happens when the pluming is very old. I had a similar situation in Hotel Irazu in Costa Rica before they remodel all the rooms. On the other hand there were very small mosquitoes and roaches in the room.They need to fumigate. I had a room on the back side of the swimming pool and not in the main building. Maybe the main building is better maintained. I will try that next time.

If you need to go to Kingston for business or pleasure (north is much better for pleasure) then the Wyndham is a good value. Central location in the downtown district, good facilities.

My stay at the Wyndham Kingston Jamaica Hotel was great. The staff was very polite,and if I had any questions they were quick to answer and help if I needed help.

Location is good and near to local shops, food places etc . Rooms are big and spacious, however had to move the coffee maker from the table as there were no eletric points nearby. Security at the hotel wasnt that impressive as there seem to let anyone off the street into the hotel without any questions. Some of the receptions also have no manners and need further training on customer care and dealing with the public. Overall my stay was fine, i would stay there agin

Excellent service from friendly, cheerful staff. Well equipped, comfortable rooms and many on-site amenites. Good location near shops, restaurants, bus station and a lovely, well kept park.

Was a very comfortable stay. Rooms was clean and bathroom was spotless. Staff was great and willing to please,since I had forgotten to request a refrigerator ,by day two upon my request one was given to me. Location was great, close to several clubs,stadium,restaurants and lots more surrounding hotel. I enjoyed my stay and plan on staying there again soon.

I am training for a major event, for this reason I book only hotels with gyms/fitness centers. There is a gym on the premises but what you are not told is that you have to pay extra in order to use the gym. The room were not very clean.

This is my third stay at the Wyndham. Wonderful upgrades done to the rooms, and lights and decorations for Jamaica 50 years of independence. Close to everything and great atmosphere. Why pay more to stay anywhere else. Take advantage of the stay 3 nights for 30% off deal. Book for 3 nights first, then when you want to checkout, check back in for the 30% off deal.

I am very disappointed with my stay at the Wyndham. I was informed of the beauty and service of this hotel through friends in Jamaica, so I was eager to book reservations. I felt that our room was grossly overpriced. Our room was less than average room with a TV on a table, and a stale odor. When asked to see another room, we were shown a room, very much like the first one except it had a desk and a TV stand for an extra $100 per night. Definitely not worth it. I have stayed in other hotels in JA for half the price, and enjoyed much better accommodations.

I am surprised that the Wyndham chain allows their name on this property. This is the second (and last...) time that I stay there. Too expensive for a room that should rate at no better than 2 stars. The first time I was by the pool and the room was small and "old". So I asked if they had newer rooms... they said "sure, just ask to stay at the Tower next time". Which I did, the room was larger but just as old. I have to say that the staff is very friendly, the pool area is nice also and there is a great Italian restaurant there. But beyond the lobby they have really invested NO money in up keeping this hotel. I even went as far as to ask to see their Executive Suites... large TV but otherwise no difference otherwise. In my opinion, not worth the money. Too bad...

I have stayed here a couple of times. Staff is excellent; breakfast is fantastic, but the rooms are kinf of old, especially the ones not in the main tower; next to the pool area. The carpets of these rooms need to be replaced - some areas even torned!. So.. if they coudl update some of the rooms would be great.

The staffs and the hotel in general was great, however the guesthouse where I actually stayed was a bit disappointing. It was clean and comfortable but my problem was with the furnishings, and the adjoining door to my room. One could see that the furnitures are outdated but more importantly all of the drawers were malfunction and difficult to open and close. My main problem was with an adjoining room that was not properly secured before I occupied the room, I had to call the desk in to get someone to fix some temporary screws to bolt my side of the room before I was able to leave my room, it was a little tacky and inconvienient other than that my stay was very good, I enjoyed the everything else and I would stay there again, but next time I will try to stay in the main hotel which I am sure is better.

Hotel needs major furniture upgrades, ended up with an adjoining room, with some noisy drunk male guest at 4 AM in the morning. Also smoking on the balcony in a non-smoking room. Food is overpriced. Bathroom has old fixtures and bad water pressure from shower. The only good thing about the hotel is location and the pool area. Needs major refurbishing.

Excellent. Hotel is very pretty, has excellent pool, staff are friendly and helpful, nicely located, good gym, good food.

It is good to stay at this hotel because it is closed to stores; however, it is not sound proof. You can hear the noise outside and even the noise of the people from the next room.

i enjoyed my stay thoroughly and intend to go back next month.the pool area looks amazing at night and i give kudos to the staff,especially the ones who work the restaurant and bar.its the hospitality business and they have that concept just right

We stayed for one night each time on our journey to and from Montego Bay. Although our stay was short, it was comfortable. Rooms were clean and front desk staff was very helpful. Breakfast at the Green Market was adequate. Unfortunately time was not on our side and we could not enjoy the other facilities.

This hotel is centrally located. The staff are most friendly, helpful and courteous. They respond to requests in a very timely manner. The only downside is the rooms need to be upgraded, carpet, television, bathroom, etc. This should be done ASAP.

I was a regular visitor to this hotel when it was under Hilton ownership. At some point over the last four or five year, Wyndham took over and, apparently, thought it did not require any investment. It was already tired when in Hilton hands, now it has lost even the Hilton cosmetic niceties. Unless you're in the tower block (old Hilton executive rooms), you're exposing yourself to the lifestyle of your neighbour. Thin walls and a locked passage door ensure you'll know what he, she or they are up to in intimate detail. I was not too fussed by the cockroach in my bathroom. But, I made the unfortunate choice of searching under my be for an errant coin. Plastic bags, a condom package and a olive pit ensured that I searched no further. There are few business hotels of any merit in Kingston. This is another that drops off my list.

My Wife and I enjoyed our stay the staff was amazing the parking was free,the location was easy access to great shopping and Emancipation Park just across the street for those beautiful evening walk.

After a long wait at the front desk we were checked in. Get to the room and it is completely dirty - bed sheets/towels on the floor. A complete disaster. They shuffle us down the hall to another room. We got room service and were told it would be 30 min. Then they called back 40 min later and said it would a little longer. About 20 - 30 min later they finally brought our meal. The meal was just ok and not worth the prices. The prices on the menu are in US dollars and the bill came in Jamaican dollars.... hummm. Shortly after we checked in my husband tried to exchange money at the front desk and they told him his name was not on the room and that I was the only one who could exchange money. We were just at the desk maybe 15 min earlier where the lady clearly saw my husband and when I went to exchange the money she apologized and said she made a mistake and his name was on the room. Unorganized??? They have cups for tea and coffee in the room and our were visibly dirty. I wanted tea, but there was no way I would drink out of those dirty cups. In short, stay somewhere else!!!

my stay at the wyndham hotel was ok if your not fussy.Some of the staff were not pleasant at all bearly get a smile from them no goodmorning how are you nothing unless your tipping them.The refrigerator did not work they had to change it twice.the microwave didnt work had to change that also,but inform me when and why i was not getting one right away.On the third day the bath tub were clogged up had to call front desk took them forever to fix the problem.For that price i would've thought i would have a pleasant stay.The room need to be renovated.the carpet is dirty and musty,and the furniture need to be rid off.On my floor which is the 8th floor, they were painting omg i couldnt breath because of the smell of the paint that was coming through,didnt want to be a nuisance so i didnt complain,i just let it go.The area is great everything is walking distance which is fabulous.I wouldnt go back.

workers are very helpful and frindley very clean hotel food is very good. i would recomend.

Perfect spot ("fi a yardy who just wa'an stay outa di mix.")If you're heading home and you just want to relax away from frenemies, then it's all you need. The restaurant was a bit over priced, especially since some items are lacking in authenticity, but there are local spots close by, like Scothie's or Sweetwood. If you want true jerk tho, just check out di man dem in front a Quad. There are 4 nite clubs to choose from, if you feel like dancing, and ladies if you forgot to pack something sexy, they have a shop in the lobby where I'm sure you'll find something.. If you crave a patty, Juici and Tastee are right up the block, if you need cash and your a BOA customer, they have affiliation with Nova Scotia and they're right up the street as well. As for the hotel itself, it was a bit run down, it's lacking in consistency as some rooms have upgrades while others don't. The internet sucks and you don't get a fridge or microwave unless you ask, and you're not told about it, so you don't know to ask (HMPH!!!) I had a few distasteful incidents, However LYNDA at the front desk and GREGORY the telecommunications Supervisor both rectified my issues and made my stay quite pleasant. If they're not gonna make the necessary upgrades then they'd be smart to lower the rates a bit. All in all, I would definetly go back. If all you want is to lay about the pool, go walking or just plain vegging, it the perfect spot, great view of the city from the rooms. I'll be referring to all my acqaintances and will be taking my husband on our next "getaway."

The Hotel is central in new Kingston. The staff were very helpful and the hotel clean with all amenities in a very safe location

Overall my stay was ok. The room I was in needed upgrades, ie; TV was not flat screen, and 19" only, and did not work, and cable was also not working right. The iron did work and I had to get a new one. Hotel wing just needed overall upgrades for the money spent. It was like staying at a Days Inn, or Red Roof inn. They are ok, but not for the money they charge for the room.

Service at front desk, housekeeping, and Terrace Cafe were outstanding. Room was clean, although the hotel is aging. Pool was clean and suitable for swimming laps, especially early in the morning. Pool Bar is good for informal dinner. Highway noise on the front-side was very loud on Friday night and kept me awake most of the night.

The staffs are great and helpful, however the hotel manager need to have a rate for the JUTA transportation, they are a rip off. The room service prices are reasonable but pay attention to your bill. We did not realize that the tips were already included in the bill and we gave the waiter tips again. There is a supermarket within walking distance of the hotel that you can also get your alcohol very reasonable.

We booked this hotel after Aeroplan arbitrarily added an extra day to our flight itinery and our resort was unable to accomodate an extention at reasonable cost. We were somewhat apprehensive about staying overnight in Kingston, given what we know about recent drug-related unrest and the City's overall crime rates. However, the hotel is situated in the business district and was a pleasant oasis in which to spend our last moments in Jamaica. Our room was spacious, nicely appointed and clean. The food... both from the restaurant we had breakfast in and from room service was reasonably priced, tasty and well prepared. The poolside ambiance was very nice, especially after dark. The festive lighting in the evening was very nice & we appreciated the presence of hotel security. We did venture out and stroll the neighbourhood during the first afternoon. We were hungry and wanted to find a quick bite of authentic fast-food cuisine. So we bypassed the KFC, Pizza Hut and Burger King... choosing, instead, to visit the local Juicey Patties. It was yummy and we were not disappointed! While we were approached by some street "vendors" on route, we did not feel unsafe but remained mindful not to venture too far from our lodgings. The only negatives we really had about this hotel were: - The rooms had no fridge... not so good when you have leftover pizza from Room Service. - The staff at the Pool-side Bar seemed much less attentive of serving the white guests vs. the black guests. (As skin colour or ethnicity is really a non-issue for most Canadians, we found this both an interesting yet sad reflection on what appears to be a racial divide within Jamaican culture.) We would certainly recommend a stay at this hotel for anyone who travels to Kingston.
