W Chicago City Center - شيكاغو

Pros: very cool lobby, very chic design. Rooms extremely clean! Great snacks, etc. Cons: Rooms/bathrooms are pretty small (like a European rooms). Not a lot in the immediate area. Note: wifi not included and very expensive!

The rooms were incredibly small. For a W location, I thought it would be a little more romatic and trendy in the rooms. The shower was small, outdated, the room was tucked away in a corner, we stared at the side of another business building, the valet was blocked by police cars, so I couldn't even valet my car properly. I just wish it was more like other W locations I have stayed at.

Let me start by saying that I love this hotel. I've stayed here a few times before and hadn't written positive reviews when they were warranted, but that's how it goes. They used the adjective "spectacular" very loosely when describing my room. The room was one of their smaller rooms, and the television wasn't facing the bed. Definately not worth the money spent. The first thing I noticed towards the head of our bed was what appeared to be a blood stain on the matress. White bed sheets didn't hide it very well. I notified the front desk and they promptly sent someone up to walk me to my new room, which was much less spectacular than the room that I originally had. I'm not sure that I'll stay with them again after this experience.

This is a lovely hotel with some great amenities, including a first-rate "business center"

W Chi City Center was an excellent value for a weekend night stay. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The front desk allowed us early check in at noon. The hotel itself is in an old building but the rooms are pleasant, chic and modern. Comfortable and nice appointments. They serve great morning coffee,too. The W is a convenient, walk to Chi Loop theatres and sites. Plenty of fast food restaurants are close for a quick breakfast/lunch.Only four blocks from River North, too. Definitely recommend to out of towners for a weekend stay downtown !

The valet parking was terrible, but very wonderful stay overall! The staff went above and beyond!

For a major city hotel, the W is well priced for what you get. They accommodated my request for early check-in, which I appreciated. I had a long day of business meetings, so I just ordered room service and I have to say it was very good. I had the Gorgonzola garlic bread and the butter salad. The portions were a good size and it was all very tasty. I had a corner room, and the bathroom was VERY small. It did not bother me, but I thought I would point it out. I read reviews that said to ask for an inside room, and I am bummed I did not heed that advice. The "L" goes by every ten minutes and you can definitely hear it.

We needed a place to kick it for the night before we traveled on to Dubuque from Chicago and the W stole the show. The only downside is that it's not 100% clear where the check-in desk is after you walk in the main doors. We had to flag down someone on the wait staff in the restaurant to tell us where to go. If they fix that issue, I'd probably give this place a 5.

The overall look of the hotel was nice. However, the room was smaller than I thought it would be (we booked the regular room). The only complaints I have is the very small bathroom sink that did not give us hot water or enough water to wash our hands! Also, we were constantly woken up by people closing their doors because our neighbors closing their doors would cause ours to shake. The room was clean and the hotel staff were very nice.

I'm not one for lengthy reviews. This is an all around awesome hotel. The staff was Very accommodating and the hotel was clean. They were also nice enough to upgrade my room. I would defiantly stay again.

The hotel was nice, clean, and modern. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful in all aspects from the check in, to concierge, to the bar staff. However, the rooms were tiny. I recommend not staying here if you appreciate not hitting your elbows every time you try to turn around in the bathroom :)

i didnt get to check in until late, and the room was just an ok price for the amount of time i actually ended up getting to have my room for. The location is great but i dont think i would stay there again because of the hassles i had

we were placed in a handicap accessable room that allowed water to run all over the bathroom floor when taking a shower.

it was perfect since I was attending the BI Summit in the hotel. I never left the hotel, so am not familiar with the surrounding neighborhood; however this is significant because everything I needed for the three days and two nights I was there was available within the hotel. Perfect for a business trip.

I wasn't overly impressed with this W. While the lobby was modern the floors and rooms were obvious remodels. The lighting was also lacking. Track lighting in the bathroom would have been helpful. Sometimes function over form is preferred.

The room was incredibly small with little to no storage space. The people were great and the decor was very nice. Overall we enjoyed the hotel...just wish there was a dresser!

Once you get past the lobby, the hotel is really in rather sad condition --- gouges in the door frames, stained carpets, etc. Plus, my floor had an overpowering and pervasive smell of a wet, dirty dishcloth, which was very unpleasant. Room was small to the point of being uncomfortable.

Staff were extremely nice and helpful. Location was perfect. However for the money, not really worth it. I likely will stay somewhere else next time.

This hotel is very modern and trendy. HOWEVER....putting aside fashionable lamps and cabinets, the beds and pillows are cheap and uncomfortable. The bathroom has no fan. The ipod dock can't charge your iphone, they jip you on the number of towels, no free wifi, and not enough outlets. The bed was definitely the biggest disappointment. At the prices this hotel charges, to have such mediocre accomodations is a shame. Keep your trendy lamps and cabinets. That is not what I want to pay for.

The hotel was a disappointment. I've stayed at W hotels in different cities (Dallas, New York, New Orleans) and generally have had a good experience. This property was tired. The restaurant, IPO, was terrible. I ordered the chicken, it was warm on top and cool on the bottom. Seemed like the kitchen heated it up and then let it sit on a counter under a light or something. The flavors were dull. The wine list by the glass was boring. I was told that they had a better selection but changed the list because they couldn't keep so many bottles open (not a thing to tell a customer, sounds like an excuse). Frankly, I had been travelling all day, it was 9 PM, I hadn't eaten that day, I was hungry and I ate the meal. The waiter asked me how my food was and when I told him he offered to buy me dessert. I thanked him but told him that I didn't eat dessert. He didn't buy my wine or offer to pick up the tab for the meal. Seems like he didn't want to do anything else about it. it's kind of funny, if I didn't like the meal, why would I like dessert?

The hotel was exactly what we were looking for, a great birthday weekend experience. The interior was super modern with elegant touches, the staff was helpful. Our room was HUGE and it's in the middle of the city. Don't hesitate, book t!

It was our first time at the Chicago W. We were suprised at the when we entered the room - it was very tight. The bathroom was very basic and old. There was a lot of noise in the evenings and especially from the subway. I dont think I would stay at the W again.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was only one person at the concierege desk and one person at the reservation desk the whole time so there was a wait. They had Acura shuttle rides all day and night long so I did not have to pay for a cab only but once. The room was beautiful but none of the tv stations came in, in either of the rooms I was in, in the hotel. The lobby is beautiful with a great atmosphere.

I must admit that this W was well below the standards of other W hotels. The beds were soft, the room was smaller than I expected, and the bathroom was cramped. The service was good enough. And the bartender at the artisanal cocktail bar was as pretentious and inattentive as I can imagine.

Stayed in a "splendid" room and was very pleased. The bed was more comfortable than my own bed. The room and bathroom were very spacious and clean. The toiletries were really nice. The decor throughout the hotel was chic, although lighting was almost too dim. I didn't care for the all glass bathroom door and the noise coming from guests walking thru the hall, but everything else was very nice.

The room was absolutely wonderful. It didn't feel like a 'hotel' at all. Spacious and so many extra touches. The staff was so helpful and friendly. A great place to stay!

Stay was fantastic, and room was great. We had a corner room, which was more roomy than others in the hotel. Bathroom was tiny but functional if you're ok with getting ready one-at-a-time. We did have to call to get our room made-up after returning on a Saturday evening, but it was probably our fault since we slept in late Saturday morning. Concierge was outstanding -- completely hooked us up with a complimentary entree and dessert at a great Asian/sushi place in town! Would definitely stay here again. :)

Great place, loved the room and the atmosphere was wonderful.

Wonderful hotel but small rooms! But rooms were adequate and very modern. Truly the only part that was s,allish was the bathroom!

I booked a stay at the W for my mother who was coming to visit Chicago. For the price this place was AWESOME! Right next to the CTA, super clean, and makes you feel posh even hanging out in the lobby.
