Very good location. Old hotel. I didn't like the smell of the towels. The room is small but clean.

Great location close to the train station and to the Duomo and other tourist spots. Lots of little cafes in the area and a coin laundry not too far away. Fairly newly renovated. Breakfast was good, but basic, and had a nice view from the 6th floor (when it wasn't raining). It was great to make our own tea in our room after a rainy day. The staff was friendly and helpful. My granddaughter and I would both recommend this hotel to others.

Nice hotel at a great location! Easy to get to from the train station (walking distance) and close to all attractions. View over the Duomo from the roof top terrasse where we had breakfast and drinks before dinner. Staff was very helpful in printing vouchers for our tickets to the Uffizi! We recommend!

good central location pleasant helpful staff didnt have to pay for internet stored suitcase on the day we left English news channel nice atmosphere - not posh but very clean and welcoming - very enjoyable stay

Excellent location you have Florence on your doorstep. I would fully recommend this hotel, for a visit to the city and also to use as a base to visit other areas around Tuscany eg Pisa As the train station is only a few minutes walk with good train services.

Stayed 4 nights here. Location, location, location. Very quiet rooms despite being on a well-traveled street. Breakfast room a little small, but works. Wi-fi was intermittent, but you should be outside in Florence anyway.

Very nice hotel. Unlike other European hotels, our room for three was not cramped. The third bed was set apart in a separate area with its own TV. It was like a small suite. The breakfast was good. The hotel was very close to the Duomo and to shopping.

Nice, clean and easy to find. Parking was close (train station) only 500 meters from hotel. Great stay will use as my Florence hotel.

This hotel is very nice! Clean, comfort, reasonable price. Breakfast is great with many choices. Location is perfect!

This hotel is close to the major tourists' spots and quite some good restaurants nearby. The only problems are the wireless network not working well and the frontdesk only told me to wait as they are not technician.....Good and nice room and convenient location if the frontdesk has the knowledge to resolve the wireless issue.

Best location to the Dumo and restaurants. Wine Bar in the evening on their roof terrace was great as well as breakfast which was included was extensive and up on the terrace. Very well located to walking every where.

I really love it. If I go to Firenza next time, it would be my ultimate choice.

Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent price and location. Very statisfied. Thank you, we stayed twice in 1 week. We decided to choose Best Western throughout our "european vacation". Will return next year.

Hotel Laurus is in a great location. My only issues were that the bed was super hard and the mattress was very uneven making it difficult to get good rest. The staff is nice, breakfast good and room comfortable other than the bed!

My wife and I stayed here on the third and final leg of our honeymoon and we couldn't be happier with our choice. The location was perfect, less than five minutes from the Duomo with an amazing view from the rooftop, and even from our room, too. Speaking of our room, it was the only hotel we stayed in that allowed us to control the A/C. It made for a very comfortable stay. Also, the breakfast was very good, and we had an amazing view of the Duomo every morning as we enjoyed a rare hot breakfast. I loved the self-service coffee machines. The front desk scheduled a day trip to Tuscany for us on the one day that the museums were closed; they did it for us on a Sunday evening when most places were closed. Coming and going, the front desk always had a smile and a 'buon giorno/sera' for us. Couldn't have been bappier with our stay and we highly recommend it to others, especially honeymooners. I have a feeling we'll be back to Florence, and we'll be sure to stay here again. Mille grazie!

I was a little leery as this hotel was rated as a Best Western a little lower in star quality as others that we stayed in Rome and Venice......but definitely a pleasant surprise! Clean modern and affordable. Service at the front desk was non existent but then again we did not need as we had our days planned. Safe and secure and modern. Worth the stay!

I would just say that the hotel had a great location otherwise the service wasnt that nice. They were not friendly or helpful.

Only a 10 min walk from the Train Station & walking distance to every major attraction in Florence. Staff was very friendly & helpful. Would definately recommend this hotel.

Location can't be beat. Everything was great, including the rooftop bar. Only warning is that street facing rooms can get loud at night.

This hotel was an excellent choice. It was very clean, room was of decent size, it is close to everything; about a block away from the Duomo. I can be very picky about certain things. There is not a negative thing of great value that I can say about this hotel. The staff was friendly with the exception of a male front desk staff. I did not get his name, but an a scale of one through four, I give him a two. The rest of the staff was very friendly.

Just a great hotel in such a good location for a city break. No complaints at all.

I all all about a good hotel for a good price, and hit every mark! I couldn't believe how close this was to everything. The Duomo was a block away,the pedestrian area was about half a block, and the train station was a couple of blocks away (10 minutes if you walk as slow as me). I felt a bit stupid for taking a taxi fromt he train station once I realized how close it was! The hotel recomended a restaurant near the Medicee Chapel, and we ended up going back a couple of times. There is also a self service laundry within 2-3 blocks. The view from the terrace was great, we enjoyed a glass of wine up there many evenings! The staff at the front desk was pleasant but not as gracious as all the other hotels we stayed at. The room nice and laid out well. There nwas room in the fridge for our water bottles and wine. The bathroom even had a tub! There was a lot of street noise with the window open, but it was silent with the window closed.

This hotel is very centrally located between the train station and the Duomo. The room and the hotel where very clean, but the air conditioning is controlled by front desk so you have to call to get it turned on EVERY time. The staff was ok, but not as helpful as other Italian hotels I have stayed in. Overall the location is enough reason to stay here. You are in the middle of everything.

We visited Florence for 3 days in April warm in the 70s, and this hotel location was within easy walking distance to Duomo, Train station, and main attractions. Even the Ponte Veccio was a 10 minute walk. Breakfast was excellent with addictive coffee and expresso. Bed was average comfort. Recommend for a fair price and 3star hotel. Our room faced street, that was noisy with windows open in the morning, however, we were up early.

This hotel has perfect location within few minutes walk to all the great churches and museums. Most importantly Near to train station. It has all the amenities to make tourist stay comfortable. Perfect booking thru Hotel.com, went like clockwork.

For booking are hotel online we really got luck with this one. It was our first trip to Florence Italy and we found the best hotel to stay. We were there for 10 days and everyday was so great. The staff was so friendly, helpful and nice. It was a pleasure to come back from a day of tourist stuff everyday. The breakfast buffett was so good. Everything was fresh and well stocked. The view from the terrace was spectacular!!! The staff there was terrific. We were close to some tourists stuff but that didnt matter we liked walking everywhere. It was so quiet. Didnt know if there were people staying near us cause we didnt hear a thing. We will most definately be back and wont stay anywhere but thing. It was that good and everyone should stay there

Our stay at the Laurus was very comfortable; staff is efficient and very helpful and willing to accommodate any needs. The hotel is just a block or so from the Duomo, and within walking distance of all the attractions in Florence.

Situated in the centre of Florence, two minutes from the Duomo. The Laurus is a comfortable 4* hotel on seven floors, with the breakfast room, bar having a rooftop terrace with a view of the cathedral. I was slightly concerned that the hotel might be a bit noisy, being so close to a busy square and church bells but it was very quiet. My room was very clean and cosy, albeit not very large for a double. There was free wired internet access (collect your cable from reception), a flat screen TV, minibar, safe, ample cupboard space and a big bathroom with bath and hand-held shower. Complimentary tea/coffee making equipment was available on request. Breakfast was served on the top floor and as the weather was so nice I always took this at one of the terrace tables. The breakfast buffet was good, with yoghurt, fruit, cold meats, hard-boiled eggs and cheese, a hot buffet of scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages and various cakes and croissants. Hot and cold drinks were from self-service machines. My coffee was very good, with freshly-ground beans. All the staff I came into contact with were very pleasant and helpful and put up with my barely adequate Italian :o). Free wireless internet was available in the lobby. It was wonderful to step out of the front door and right in the centre, so within easy walking distance of pretty much everywhere in the city. There were plenty of restaurants, cafés and bars nearby and the San Lorenzo market and the central indoor produce market were just round the corner. I booked my room six months ahead, so got quite a good rate, given that hotel rates in Florence are generally pretty fierce. I enjoyed my five night stay and would certainly consider using the hotel again.

This hotel is within walking distance of the train station and very well situated to everything that Florence has to offer. Florence is a walking city so I was not disappointed. I had been to Florence before so I knew that location was extremely important for me. You could walk out of the hotel for dinner or a gelato and feel comfortable in the area even late at night since everyone eats much later than we are used to in the USA. Breakfast at the hotel which was included in the rate was a wonderful way to start the day and I really appreciated the tub to rest my tired feet before dinner! As hot as the city was in August, my room was comfortable with a pre-set temperature on the AC. I really enjoyed my stay in Florence thanks to Hotel Laurus.

The Best Western Premier Laurus met all expectations. This hotel is within easy walking distance to the train station and also close to all major tourist attractions. The room was beautifully updated and spotlessly clean. The air conditioning worked very well and the room was very soundproof. The staff were always helpful and very friendly, recommending dinner spots that were excellent. I would definitely stay here again and found that it was probably our favorite place in Europe.

This hotel was in the perfect location, just a 2 minute walk from the Duomo cathedral, which is the main site in Florence. You can see it from right outside the hotel, which is awe-inspiring upon first glance. The rooftop has an amazing view as well. The hotel room we stayed in was recently renovated and was just perfect. Very clean and comfortable with 2 twin beds. I would recommend this hotel for anyone. It was great.

The hotel was in a fantastic location, close to all attractions of Florence. The roof terrace is spectacular and is a lovely place to eat breakfast, the views from the terrace and of the Duomo are incredible. The staff in the hotel are evry helpful and accomodating, and made the stay very welcoming. The room was a good size with a big bathroom. Would stay here again, and would recommend to others.

We just returned from two weeks in Italy and stayed at five different hotels, all of which were rated four stars. This hotel was the worst of the five hotels we stayed in and I don't think it deserves a four star rating. There were large black unsightly marks all over the walls in the room and a large puddle of water on the floor where the radiator was leaking. We were then moved to a smoking room even though we had requested non-smoking. On the third try we finally got a habitable room. Their incidental charges were much higher than the other hotels. Internet charges were 5 Euro for 30 minutes, compared to either free or 2 Euros at other hotels. My husband was charged 8 Euro for a draught beer, approximately $12, which was really out of line. The other hotels we stayed at had a mixture of Americans, Europeans, and Italians staying at the hotels, but this hotel seemed to be primarily Americans. The hotel had absolutely no charm unlike the other four star hotels we stayed at, and the front desk staff wasn't cordial and welcoming as we experienced at the other hotels in Italy. On the plus side, there was a nice continental breakfast included, and the location was convenient to the train and bus stations and walking distance to all the sights. However, the convenient location didn't make up for the lack of charm and condition of the rooms, and I would not stay at this hotel again.

This hotel is conveniently located - just a ten minute walk away from the train station and just steps away from the Duomo and other main attractions in Florence (well, Florence is a relatively small city and everything is within walking distance). Hotel room is clean. However, I expected the reception staff to be more friendly and accommodating - they would answer your questions but I felt they are somewhat annoyed by the questions a normal visitor would ask. Internet is free but you need to buy the cable for EUR3 as there is no wireless connections at the hotel rooms. Overall, the hotel is ok but I wouldn't stay here again and would not recommend this to my family or friends who intend to visit Florence.

We were pleased in every way with the Laurus al Duomo. It was extremely convenient in the heart of the city on the same street as the Duomo and still quiet and peaceful for sleeping. The staff was great helping us book dinner reservations and other questions. Don't miss the free breakfast on the rooftop patio. If you go with a car you should know that to park it for the day is an additional 30 euros per day which must be paid in cash to the valet.
