Coming in at 4 am. we had no choice but to stay. Filthy, stained tile floors you wouldn't let your feet touch. The walls were gouged and stained with what appeared to be food stuff. The furniture was aged and broken. The room stank of mold. Any metal in the room including the door hinges and hardware were so rusted, it was as though they were left underwater. The bathroom was gross and the door wouldn't shut. The shower ceiling had exposed drywall from a long ago repair and the toilet was not secured to the floor. The bathroom also had no screen in the window that overlooked a filthy dirt alley. Parking was a joke and I was told to park anywhere around the block even though most of the spaces belonged to the many apartment buildings. I don't understand how this place rose to a 2 star rating. It's just Nasty.

My stay was terrible. We got to the hotel around 5:30 PM. They didnot have our room and no 2 queen size bed rooms.Only 1 King bed room. 4 adults are not fitting in 1 bed. that was why I specified 2 queen beds. The person at the desk said they would check with the hotel around the corner to see if they had a 2 beds in 1 room. the two properties were owned by the same group. We got a room at the Tropic Cay around the corner from Avalon Beach front inn. We got a room with 2 double beds by the pool. There was a band that played outside the room until 2 AM. Not relaxing at all. The toilet stopped up when it was used once. I went up to the front desk to let them know. They said the man with the plunger was not at the hotel at the time to come back later. I went back a little while later and I was given the plunger to unplug the toilet. The tv did not work. I was told the reception was out and they did not know when it would be back on. The door was not secure. The lock had been broken into before our stay. We didnot feel secure. It was an awful experience. The room was really old and not well kept at all. We will never stay there again.

I don't know where to start...well, I guess I would start by saying that location is perfect and that's what you are paying for only!..Front Desk Dominican and Anglo Ladies were pleasant and helpful, --I do feel for them and all the struggle that they go through--the 3 shift Africa American lady needs to learn how to work at the front desk and deal with customers. Hotel is in need of a major renovation. Most of the rooms are extremely awful. This hotel should not be on Hotels.com database and it should be rated down to .50 instead of 2. If you like to stay at run down hotels then this one is for you. Personally, what a mistake I made about booking this hotel. Sorry, but I am just been bit honest and polite in compared what we experienced!

One of the worst hotels we have ever stayed it, especially for the "Spring Break Price." We would have been better off at a local Hostel. The lights and tv did not work when we showed up. There was no fitted sheet on the bed- just a flat sheet that was too small to cover the mattress. There was random hair all over the bathroom. We wore sandals in the shower- it was dirty. The curtain did not cover the whole window and there was a huge gap between the door and the frame. The "free wifi" did not work in our room- guess we were too far from the server. The only thing that worked well was the AC.

The photographer gets kudos for his on-line photos of this hotel for the most creative shots. The hotel is nothing like the photos shown. Kitchen in this hotel means - microwave, 4 cup coffee pot, dorm fridge, and 2 burners. No pots, pans or kettle, no way to boil water for tea. Tiles were peeling off the floor. No plug for sink or any soap or towels to wash your dishes. All but one of the chairs around the pool were broken and unusable. The only thing going for this hotel is the location which is steps to the beach.

We had to walk through dirt and rocks with our suitcase-no sidewalk. The room still wasn't ready at 5pm. The maid pulled towels out of a hefty bag that were all balled up and then HUNG THEM in the bathroom. While waiting, we noticed blood stains dripping down the handrail of the stairs outside. Clearly there for hours or...... The door was aluminum and beat to H---. Beds horrible and generally gave us a sick feeling. Didn't even open our suitcases. We went running out of there----SCARED!!

Great location and you get what you pay for in terms of money spent on the room. Room was clean and staff were very helpful!

Hotel was dirty, TV. no cable, 11 channels(local), to make it work you would have to wiggle the cables in the back. pool dirty,i stayed two nights, thru out that time the same garbage i walk in on when chcking in, amazingly enough i walked out on. house keeper would not give me toilet paper because i was checking out at 11:00 am the NEXT day, and it was 3pm the day before, i would not have toilet paper for more than 12 hours, so I had to go and buy one. theY charge per night A LOT , and deposit IS HUGE and i dont understand why..OVERALL THE MOTEL 2 BLOCKS DOWN WAS CHAPER AND CLEANER, IT ALSO OFFERED CONTINETAL BREAKFAST..ONLY DOWNSIZE WAS WALKING 2 BLOCKS TO THE BEACH, HAD IT NOT BEEN SOLD OUT, I WOULD HAVE GONE THERE...IF YOU DONT CARE ABOUT CLEANLINESS, AND COMFORT, THEN THIS IS THE HOTEL FOR YOU, ME NEVER EVER AGAIN....

We came for spring break and was not expecting much. This place is absolutely so disgusting, we had to leave early. The beds have blood stains and are not washed even if you request it. We are college kids on a spring break and this was way too much for us. STAY AWAY and go to another motel.

The efficiency they gave me initially was filthy with a rug that had multiple stains, it was missing a refridgerator, the TV didn't work, the bathroom window was stuck open meaning anyone on the street could look in, and as soon as I used the toilet it overflowed. The efficiency they moved me to didn't have a door knob or door number. The front window was cracked and everything was incredibly shabby. The parking was impossible and even though they charged me for parking there was no space available. The beachfront location, though, is very hard to beat. Still, there are many other beachfront properties that you could stay in rather than this one - and you should!

The only thing good about this hotel is its location - right across the street from the beach. The hotel is in terrible shape, with paint on all the doors and walls peeling, furniture is old, bathtubs chipped, windows don't even completely close. Free wi-fi did not exist - we could not get it in our room. Would NOT recommend staying here. Really surprised it is even on Hotels.com. Obviously hasn't been evaluated by anyone from there in a while!

Hotel VERY run down. Smelled moldy, couldn't open windows. only saving grace is great location.

We missed our connection at Fort Lauderdale Airport and next flight was 13 hours later. We live in Jacksonville and decided it would be better to rent a car and drive the 4.5 hours instead of waiting 13 hours. We had been traveling all night from Central America and needed some rest before make the trek. We grabbed a room close to the airport for some sleep. The staff was amazing and very helpful. They allowed us to check in at 8am and gave us a nice room. The only negative thing I could say about the room was the window unit a/c. When we turned it on it was so loud we couldn't sleep. So we turned it on left it running while we got some breakfast. We came back to the room to get some rest but had to turn off the a/c as it was too loud to sleep through. only got about 2.5 hours of sleep as the room became too hot to sleep in. Like I mentioned before the staff was really great in accommodating us for the short period that we needed the room for.

The pictures on the website are NOT accurate. This place was a disaster. Filthy and just run down.

the hotel is old and dirty. however, it is directly across from the beach and much cheaper than surrounding hotels in the area. its a 4/5 block walk to tons of restaurants and bars. It really needs some updating but your paying for location.

Could not stay because the front window was cracked 4 feet and the curtains would not close.

My room was gross. Would not use the shower. Great location, good staff, but rooms need lots of attention.

This is an old motel and it shows it. It is an excellent location on Ft. Lauderdale beach. My wife and I were a bit apprehensive but after a few drinks at the adjoining bar we relaxed and everything was fine. If you are looking for a cheap place in a good area this is it but it is not for the weak of heart. It needs a LOT of maintainance. The door handle was loose and hard to open with the key. The A.C. didn't work very well. The shower and kitchenette need updating. Old T.V. but we only needed a bed for the night before our cruise the next morning and this did the trick without breaking the budget. It was probably as clean as it could be considering it's age and condition. The pics on hotels.com were a little misleading. I suspect they fixed one room up really nice and used it for the pictures. The people at the front desk were polite. If you're picky you will hate it. If you are not uptight about these things you might like it.

I would not recommend a homeless person staying there.Do not get taken in by the photos, it looks stunning on the outside, but step into the room and it is dark even with the single light in the room, peeling and dirty paint work broken cistern top for the toilet, I could go on and on but I had better stop. (Don't stay there.)

Unfortunately this was not the best choice ever made. The location was fine, but the maintenance of the hotel was deplorable. It seems as there was a break in through the adjacent room's door, which was fixed (door molding was just nailed) but not properly repaired/finished. The bathroom was filthy, scum all over the shower door and frame; toilet did not flush well; carpets were dirtly - need I continue? When we asked the clerk for another room, she mentioned that they were all sold out, however the sign still read "vacancy available". The other thing that worried us, was the fact that there lots of "parties" going on - many open doors with people walking in and out. When brought to the same clerk's attention all she said "well...." Next day however, stopped at an Embassy Suites and paid the same price with complementary cocktails and breakfast - not to mention a very clean and comfortable room.

The pictures of the hotel are deceiving. The rooms are in horrible repair. I checked out at 3:00am because I couldn't sleep. It felt like I had things crawling on me all night. The place is discusting.

the room was very old paint need update no coffee pot in room for price ive stayed in better places ,the only thing going for it was the beach was accross the street.

The room is nothing spactacular. I just needed a convenient place to sleep and clean up and this location provided just that. A perk, it is right on the beach (the calm side), close to nice places to eat and the woman running the front desk was very polite and accomidating. I would stay again for a night.

Worst hotel ever. Same owners as the hotel next door. You could sleep in your car and have a better place to stay.... extremely disappointing!

Decent place to stay. This is a budget option so expect accordingly but this place is perfectly acceptable. A bit worn and shabby but clean and comfortable.

The rooms are in desperate need of repair. We asked to be moved to another room. The second room was not much better than first.

Wow this was no where near worth what I paid for a little more I could have done a walk in special at a nearby resort and would have been 20 times better. When checked in they could not find my reservation. They eventually did after stressing me out. Than they wound up charging me for room which was paid for. Had that little battle at check out. When checking in asked about internet.Yes and she said iI will reboot it that will be hhelpful. Than gave us codes for surrounding places. Well my room was directly behind the hours keeping shed and steps. You guessed it no internet. Now I had papers that needed to be taken care of. Went to office clerk said sold out could not room change. This place was lucky if even half was sold out. None the less I spenthalf the night sitting in courtyard searching for signal..yeah got weak so had to move aaround. I got no rest and would have been better off in my car at McDonalds using their internet. The room well looked liked it was refurbished about 30 years ago. Air condition was above door and was ready to fly away it was so noisy. I really wish there was something nice to say. I died think I saw a little area where might have breakfast...not anymore.

Get what u payfor good location nice people and quiet. If you want a place to sleep it is fine

Location was BEST - across street from premier ($300) properties - property is MUCH older-needs updating- stayed there 3 times - - 1st was great - -2nd building double bed - refrig -but last two -since I travel alone - got single bed -no fridge - although requested double -( ask for double )- single bed is not very confortable - room is old/ dingy - other issues with bug spray /past smokers (ALTHOUGH REQUESTED NON SMOKING) - would stay there again- only because of location and very nice staff

The hotel is exactly what you expect from 1.5-2 star hotel. Old , cheap but the service was great

Highly recommend paying the difference for the room with a kitchenette at the front of the building. I had req'd a queen or king bed, but was given one with 2 fills; I was moved to one with a kitchenette and a king for no up charge. If looking for budget, this is it! Great staff.
