The hotel window on ground floor broken no one ever came to fix. Rooms are really small....no vending machines and ice area was filthy.... Have to say for the money this is not the place to stay!

My husband & I and our two adult children stayed at the hotel on two separate occasions over the Christmas period. We all really enjoyed the experience - from the wine tasting each evening, to the friendly, helpful staff, comfortable, clean rooms, very convenient location, great restaurant - we couldn't have hoped for more. We'll definitely stay here again when we're next in San Francisco.

Good location. Clean. Nice wine tastings. Guy at the front desk was VERY helpful and friendly in suggesting local restaurants.

Tuscan Inn is an excellent hotel for any purpose at any time. I have stayed at this hotel for more than 4 times and the quality of service and rooms are just superb.

Everything about the Tuscan Inn was first rate!! I would stay there again on any return trip to San Francisco. Do not change anything!!

great location safe walk to warf and to tour bus hop on off can get all over san fran for under 60,00 for two day pass. Rooms are clean breakfast is contenental good coffee crisants which are fresh (better then Ive had in France) w crm cheese and jelly Wine hr at 5pm which is very nice beautiful lobby w fireeplace. ED was a staff member who was friendly and kind and very helpful I would recomend to family or women traveling

Very close to Pier 39 and shops. Room was big, very clean, very comfortable. Staff was courteous and helpful. Will definitely choose this hotel again for our next stay in San Francisco!

I decided to stay at this Best Western for the first time ever because it was listed as owned by Kimpton. I did see the resemblance in the carpet, and tile type motif but, it was just not quite what I had expected. Location was fantastic but, Sheraton was down the street and even Holiday Inn Express which is probably a better choice for me. I had a window facing the courtyard but, it was not much. The room was small and the bathroom and bedding not really attractive with just a blanket for show on the feet end. Service was good, professional people and attentive and lobby was nice. I would not spend as much as I did for New Years again to stay there but, maybe for less if I had to and had no other options. Did say location was great no fantastic! 1 block from Pier 39 and 4 from Ghiradelli Square. We had parking on the street the whole time. Lucky. By the way, I grew up in San Francisco but, came as a tourist after 20 years.

The hotel needs to do an upgrade. It's expensive and everything looks old. They charge for everything, even parking.

The hotel staff was courteous and helpful at all times. We liked the convenience of grocery shopping next door and we never used transportation (other than shuttle and BART upon arrival) to get where we needed to be. We made the trek to Coit Tower in about twenty minutes and were close enough to take a break in our hotel before going out again to see the sights. The hotel has coffee and tea available in the lobby each morning and wine in the evening. Great way to meet other guests.

Nice walking distance to wharf and IHop. I would stay here again.

Not a luxury hotel but very good value. Very well managed. A tight ship. highly recommended.

The good: great hotel great location, withing walking distance to the pier. Very cozy. Good surrounding neighborhood. The bad: the rooms are a bit too small. No self parking, valet only-$44 valet charge

Parking was expensive, location couldn't have been better. Easy access to all bus lines, and cable cars. Close walk to all piers! They did not clean our room for two days, we had to ask them to replace coffee, and for fresh towels. The concierge was very helpful, as we're all other employees there.

We had a wonderful visit in San Francisco. The Tuscan Inn was a perfect location and the staff very pleasant and helpful. We plan to make this an annual visit.

Evven though our room was a bit noisy due to the street traffic, the hotel was great! Great people, great location. will definitly go back

excellant location for anywhere you want to go . Wine happy hr each night was super. Hotel even had a happy hour. Bartender from Boston was super as to what to see and do in the area. Overheard someone on the pier say they had the best restaurant and it was very good. Pat from Philly

Stayed for 1 night stopover and found hotel to be clean and comfortable. Rooms are compact. Handy to pier attractions. Restaurant attached was great for dinner with good food and service. Would stay again. Book the hotel car to/from the airport for 4 or more people. Cheaper and better than shuttle or taxi.

The hotel seemed to be well maintained and nicely decorated. I enjoyed the location too - very close to fisherman's warf and trolleys. There is even a Safeway grocery store across the street.

The room was small, but the mirrors gave the impression of more room. Still, we weren't there to stay in the room. The bathroom area was very small and difficult, if not impossible, for two people to use. It was a bit inconvenient that in order to have the light on in the toilet area, the light in the sink area had to be on. (Not good if partner trying to sleep.) Still, the room was fairly nice, the staff was fantastic, and the location was perfect for what we wanted to do. You are well within walking distance for Pier 39, Little Italy, and Ghiradelli Square. Also, Cafe Pescatore (attached to the hotel) was a very reasonable Italian restaurant. Parking wasn't cheap, but it was valet parking, and the lot was well-protected and insured, so it was worth it. Plus you get in and out privileges, which you don't always get with public parking lots. Overall, my wife was extremely happy with our choice of hotel. It was pretty well maintained and the staff was great. Location, location, location - is important. There are better and worse hotels in the area, but this was a really good option and made for a pleasant weekend. I definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to visit this section of San Francisco for a weekend.

Excellent and beutiful hotel the only problem was the shower. I took about 5 min before we were getting hot water. from that point the water would fluxtuate from hot to cold in a matter of minutes.

My family choose this hotel for its great location near all the "touristy" hot spots in San Fransisco. It has access to all the major cable car routes, too. Bonus, after we check in we found a Safeway (grocery) right across the street to save on travel necessities. Overall the hotel worked out great, but do keep in mind the price of overnight parking can be higher then you think. Look into it before choosing your location.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was close to the Wharf and Pier 39. The staff were friendly and polite. The room was comfortable and clean. We really enjoyed the wine evenings so you mix and talk to other guests. I wuold recommend this hotel for visitors to San Francisco.

We stayed here our last night in San Francisco. Staff helpful and friendly. A big plus was the free wine reception from 5-6 PM. Man doing the pouring was a super conversationalist. 3 types of wine, generous servings and they even gave a "last call." Another plus was the free luggage tag made from your business card. Hotel has restaurant and room service, so no freecontinental breakfast, but Safeway grocery is in the next block. Negative is $40 a night for valet parking.

Was in San Francisco on a business trip. I normally stay at business hotels, but a friend had told me about this hotel at a fraction of the cost. The room was pleasant and staff excellent. It was not as clean as I would have expected, but that statement must be measured against someone with a military background and German mother. I would clearly stay at this place again.

Kudos to the hotel fro offering a wine reception and opportunity to meet others staying in the same hotel (even little pizza bites offered!). Nice welcome. Hotel is close to everything and in safe setting. Rooms are VERY cozy (ie; small) but not spending much time there, this was not an issue. Only "complaint" had to do with finding out about parking costs AFTER we had already checked in..no mention of cost when checking in, and none until checking out, at which time we were told it was $44. YIKES!

If you want to stay by Fisherman's Wharf, you can't go wrong no matter which 3 or 4 star you pick--they're all pretty good. The Tuscan, though, really shines with better than expected customer service, and something most of the others lack--personality. It shoots for a sophisticated European Inn feel, and mostly delivers. The rooms are small, that's a given in SF. The batrooms are a little institutional, but how much time are you spending in there, anyway? The only improvement I would make is to the lighting. It's a little dim even with all the lights on...

Good location and really helpful staff. Italian resturant attached to the hotel is great. I'd stay here again.

great place to stay. we had a blast. friendly staff. we can't say enough about this hotel, this was a bucket list trip that was so great. thank you ever so much best western hotels.....thank you. it was a very memorable trip.... the restaurant was fantastic too....loved it. nuf said......thank you again and again.

We stayed for two nights in October and were very happy with the location of the hotel and staff working there. They had a wine invitational every night from 5-6pm for hotel guests which was a nice way to start the evening. The room was clean and all the amenities were available. The bed was a little stiff and was a double not a queen, which made a difference for me and my husband (both 6 feet tall +), but if we weren't traveling with one other person, we could have just gotten a king bed and it woudn't have been an issue. The bathroom was very nice with new fixtures and I was excited about the tall vanity (again, I'm 6 feet tall), and the bathroom was roomy. I would recommend for light sleepers to ask for a non-street front room (North Point St.) At night (no matter what time of week) the wharf gets a little louder and I was woken up several times by motorcycles, an arguing couple and then the trash/recycling trucks early in the morning. Other than that, it was a great stay. They also helped arrange transportation to the airport (it will be about $50 + tip for a towncar, which would be the shortest ride and best deal for 3 or more people or $16-18 p/ person for a shuttle).

This hotel is located perfectly for people visiting San Francisco. It is a block away from the Wharf and takes only 5 mins to walk. The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. We are a family of 4 and we found that the rooms were comfortable and large enough for us. I would definitely recommend this hotel for your stay.

hotel had a very nice lobby and restaurant. The rooms were too small and the decorations were awful. We were unable to open windows (no screen) and the TV was fuzzy and not clear. The other best western I stayed at had a continental breakfast but this did not. I ordered a pot of coffe to my room and was provided with a package of coffee and fake cream.

We booked the hotel on the day we arrived due to the apartment we had previously booked being a disaster!! The booking clerk helped find a room for three nights and we decided to stay for another seven nights. The hotel was very comfortable and clean, however it did lack a few luxuries in the bathroom and also breakfast was not included. It was a very convenient location and we felt quite safe at all times. Close to Broadway, Fifth Avenue, Times Square and also Metro. Nice restaurants close by and Irish pubs serving affordable meals. We probably tried them all on 45th and 44th Ave!!!For us this hotel turned out to be our saviour but it is not a personal hotel and I guess you would book something smaller and more expensive if you wanted this. Location 10 out of 10 and the rest an 8!!

The location of the Hotel is great, right at Fishermans Wharf. The service from the entire staff was very good. The only negative was the bathroom was quite small. I would stay there again and would recommend it to others.

Perfect location to many attractions. Everyone we dealt with at the hotel were helpful and very plesant.

As first-time tourists, we chose the Tuscan for its location--only a block from Fisherman's Wharf, good restaurants, cable cars, etc--but the hotel itself was more than satisfactory. An appealing covered entry, comfortable beds, a decent restaurant, a free wine party in the afternoon, and very helpful,cordial staff all made our 4-night stay there an excellent experience.
