The only thing I enjoyed about this hotel was the location. UVA is a gorgeous campus and there was lots of restaurants within walking distance. The hotel was under construction and the lobby was a mess. Not a huge deal, but you were not able to access your room, and had to use exterior entrances. I can deal with that part. When I arrived at my room, I noticed there were several dirty glasses outside my door. I was concerned that someone was already in my room (luckily not) and then glanced around to see LOTS of dirty glasses outside many of the surrounding room. NOTE: when I checked out the following day, the glasses were all STILL there. Overall, I didn't feel my room (or the hotel itself) was super clean. The A/C was an old, loud window unit, which was annoying. My overall impression was not good. I would choose somewhere else if I stayed in that area again.

The hotel stay was wonderful. It was located on Main Street (College Row) two blocks away from The University of Virginia. We used the accommodations because we were attending a bowling tournament, which was taking place less than 5 miles away. Without a doubt, would recommend to others. It was very nice, clean, and the service was great.

Very nice hotel in good neighborhood. A short walk to the restaurants and bars - near the University.

the onlt thing i didn't like was being charged .50 cent for every local calls.

The air conditioning in our room was horrible as the humidity level was not controlled and there was no way to adjust it. Everything in the room felt very wet. Turning up the temp to make the room a little bit warmer did not help. What should have been a very comfortable sleeping situation actually felt like we were sleeping in and on top of wet linens. This would not be a place I would make a choice to stay again.

Nice place to stay. Close to UVa and the "corner" where you can shop or eat. Close enough (mile or less) that we walked to the downtown mall for dinner and a concert instead of dealing with parking. Staff was friendly at check in--no problems that needed staff after that. Room was next to the ice machine that made a loud humming noise, but couldn't hear it at all once we were in the room with the door closed. Overall good experience.

Room was ample in size but held an odor of sour towels that distracted from the comfort of the bed and room. The front desk had difficulty with my check-in because it was prepaid through hotels.com. Once this was resolved the room key, which was supposed to open the garage gate to park, didn't work. This mean going around several blocks to find the way to the hotel, park in the circle and start all over again.

Conveniently located with friendly, helpful staff. I would stay there again.

I arrived hotel after 2pm and was turn away because room was not available. The manager didn't know when it would be available for check in. The hallway on my floor smelt cigarette heavily. Room carpet is damp and smell like wet dog. We have to take the trash out ourselves because nobody clean our room for 3 days.

perfect location next to down town mall and UVS. service was great. all people were very helpfull

Best location if you are visiting with a UVA Student but don't expect it to be up to Courtyard standards. I guess the hotel remains full because of its location and the mamangement does not feel compelled to be concerned with quality.

We came in a little late, nearly midnight, and the staff was very courteous, helping to get us into our room very quickly. I chose a couple of bottles of water from the little convenience store, and the gentleman waived the charge.

Would have been nice to have a small fridge for the price.
