Right by the PATH quick ride in to Manhattan. Nice, clean hotel. A little more street noise than expected but otherwise excellent.

Location was the best. After the hustle of NYC it was easy to return to a relaxing atmosphere.

Loved, Loved, Loved this hotel!! Beautifully decorated. The beds were very comfortable. The room was very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Great location especially the close location to PATH train. Would definitely stay here again!!!!

This hotel is in a great locations. Directly next the Newport path train station, this hotel offer everything you would need on a trip to the city. Rooms were comfortable, staff was great.

Great hotel. Near mall, very safe area, nice. Room was clean and comfortable beds. Would definitely stay here again. Right next door to the PATH station that leads you into NYC. Very convenient, and just down the street from Carlo's Bakery! :)

Courtyard was located near PATH (Port Authority NY-NJ) in order to use the system it was only a 20 second walk. Very Convenient. Our concern with the stay was that Hotels.com was not aware of what the deluxe room was. We reserved a room for 4 that should have included 2 queens, pull out sofa, micro wave, fridge. Upon arrival we were offered only 2 queens. There was no such option in the Courtyard. After calling the front desk, we were given a micro wave and fridge. We were booked on the 9th floor. The 10th floor was closed and under construction. This was not conveyed to us by Hotels.com during our booking and we were only told upon arrival at Courtyard by the front desk clerk. Usually info like this is supplied on the hotel website. For the amount we paid, we endured to many inconveniences during this trip with hotel.com.

Very convenient location to the PATH. Valet parking was reasonable $16 for 24 hours. No breakfast though which I missed.

Anything I asked for was handled positively and efficently. The location is ideal with the PATH right next door. Everyone from engineer the first night when we discovered a clogged bath tub drain, to the maid who let me in to retrieve something were terrific. The front dest personnel were professional, yet friendly. John deserves a special compliment. He cuts a fine figure and addressed all my questions and concerns in a NY or should I say NJ nano-second.

There is nothing the matter with this hotel. It is in a good location for Jersey City and right next to the PATH. The staff is perfectly solicitous. Perhaps if I had used more of the hotel amenities, I would have been more comfortable with the price.

Excellent hotel. Good value for money compared to Manhattan hotels. Tube to WTC and 33st just across the corner from the hotel and big shopping mall just across the street. Clean rooms and nice bathrooms :)

I stay at the Courtyard in Washington, PA and it's way nicer, especially the bathroom. This one could use some updating. Location is primo though.

Staff Was Helpful And The Metro Station Is Adjacent To The Hotel Which Is AWESOME!!!! The Rooms Were Quite Small And Very Crowded For A Family Of Four. Asked For Two Queens And Ended Up With A A Queen And A VERY UNCOMFORTABLE Spring Loaded Sofa Full. No Attempt Was Made To Correct The Problem But They Were Courteous. And We Were There For A Christmas In New York. So We Just Coped And Enjoyed NYC And Hooboken Carlos Bakery Is Phenomenal The Cannelloni Is Like SEX For Your Taste Buds. Now Getting To The Hotel Is A NIGHTMARE...Traffic Is Horrendous Make Sure You Plan NOT To Go at Rush Hour It Turns Out To Be Rush Hours...Literally. Be Ready To Pay A Pretty Penny..But The Attendants Are Nice. All In All An Alright Hotel.

Cons: Service was not upto par. The front staff was not as courteous as you'd expect. We reached at 4pm and still the room wasn't ready, however there were not at all apologetic. Sofa bed in the King bedroom was only a skeleton of spring. They didn't provide any extra mattress. Another set down was NO Breakfast Pros: The parking charges were $16 per night which was reasonable. They do serve Starbucks and there is a breakfast place right across the street. Many restaurants nearby. Its a stone throw away from PATH station which is the USP for this hotel. Prompt Room service. I would recommend this hotel for a short NYC visit.

Enjoyed our 2-day stay. Great location with entrance to Subway station right next door. Only negative was that the hotel's coffee shop was closed most of the time (by design). I would suggest they keep that open all day since visitors on vacation don't have a regimented schedule (unlike business travelers). There are convenient shops right across the street so it wasn't a big issue. Another suggestion is to keep subway maps to the City. Again, no big deal but would reduce the stress of trying to figure things out on the fly. Hotel staff were very helpful in that regard. I would return to this hotel on the next trip to NYC.

The hotel was very clean. Lobby was very nice and staff was friendly. The PATH train entrance was right beside the hotel and could not have been easier. Only complaint if you can call it that was no view of NYC skyline.

Nice hotel right next to the Newport PATH line to NYC. Made it very easy to commute there every day. Lots of shops and restaurants across the street from the hotel as well. Carolina was very helpful in a room upgrade to meet the needs of our family. Thanks!

This hotel was very clean and most importantly, no bed bugs! The staff were friendly and helpful and the Bistro was convenient in the morning for a quick breakfast and Starbucks coffee. The pool and hot tub were nice too. This hotel is right next door to a PATH station which takes you right into Manhattan. It was very convenient. There are also a few great restaurants right next to the hotel. Overall this was a great visit and I would recommend this hotel!

Many positives: Very helpful staff. Good, clean and comfortable accommodation. Good room size. Very conveniently placed for cheap, easy and quick reach to New York city centre using the subway station next to the hotel. Convenient and easly accessible small gym and a swimming pool downstairs. Clean and quiet surroundings. Some negatives: Bathroom, although clean and well maintained, needs moderinizing - not very convenient shower control. Not many choice of good eating places at walking distance. Not catering for tea in the room.

We booked this hotel at the last minute, due to some spur of the moment plans, and it was an excellent. It was easy to find, the staff couldn't have been any friendlier or more helpful, and convenient to the train station to Manhattan. We would definitely stay there again.

Whilst located in New Jersey City, this place is so conveniently located for the (clean and safe) PATH (tube) into New York City, that it would be madness to pay the 3x price for New York City accommodation. It also enjoys local bars and restaurants along with a decent shopping mall. Staff were great and always smiling. Definitely going back there again.

Great location near path train for Manhattan , so you don't have to pay the tunnel 8$ every time but the room was so tiny and the bed comforter didn't have a cover, just didn't have one. I've seen motels with better bed linens than this 3 stars hotel. Breakfast not included, for that price it should be.

Clean, quiet and modern hotel. Nice patio. Convenient location with restaurants and path nearby. Recommend taking in the beautiful views of lower Manhattan along the harbor walkway which is around the corner. Newport had everything we needed and we felt very safe in the area!

We had a three night stay at this hotel, the staff was great, the hotel was clean and affordable with valet parking and was right next to the Path station. We were able to visit New York city via Path and not have to worry about driving or parking. We had a pleasant experience at the hotel and I would definately return.

Room is small (king size bed with sofa bed). The staff is nice and helpful.

This hotel was amazing, from the people to atsompher . The staff members were very nice and polite. My fiancé and I stood at this hotel during our anniversary and enjoy every minute of our stay. If we get another chance we would definately stay their again. I would recomend this hotel to my friends, family, or anyone who is looking to have a relaxing and quiet couple of days.

To my Bermudian people this is a great hotel to stay if you go away just to shop. You can walk.... very close to shopping areas like: Target, Home Depot, Best Buys, Pepboys Auto, Staples, Modell's (sports stuff) , BJ's whole Sale Club, Bed Bath & Beyond Most of ALL Newport Center (Mall) right across the street. You name it... Victoria's Secret, Macy's, Kohl's, Foot Locker, Lids (shoes), Payless...SOOOO much more... Happy shopping...

The biggest advantage of this place is its location next to subway. Highly recommended for those who can use subway..

WE loved the size of the room, to bad there was no refrigerador and sodas /water at all. Our floor did not have any vending machine so we could at least buy some water or sodas. We liked the pool as well and the parking was very affordable. Good places to eat outside.

The hotel was great, easy access to the city, clean, nice staff.

It is right beside the path to get to NY. Customer service was excellent. Complete thumbs up!!

For three people, prices in Manhattan were exorbitant, and the reviews were often worrisome. We chose the Courtyard Marriott in Jersey City, where we got a lot more for our money. The hotel was spacious and comfortable, and the staff were helpful and genuinely friendly. The PATH train station is right next door, and the fare into Manhattan costs less than a subway ticket. The trip is about 20 minutes. For three people, we got a double room with a sitting area and sofa bed. We have no complaints at all about the room. The wifi was free and worked very well. There is a small bar/restaurant in the lobby where we ate the first night because we were tired after our long trip from Europe. It was very reasonably priced and much better than we expected. We ate breakfast there both days, and had dinner there our second night also.

The hotel was fine -- the room was nice, clean, with plenty of natural light (and the curtains allowed for a sleep-in). We used this hotel for some meetings over the weekend in Manhattan because of price (nearly half that of Manhattan hotels), room size/brightness, and the proximity to the PATH train station. The only real negative is that we found out that the PATH schedule is really slow at the weekend, so perhaps I'd recommend it for weekday stays -- it's not viable for buzzing round the city during a weekend day and then popping back to change or freshen up for the evening. Parking was very easy and at a civilised price.

This is the second time we have stayed here. It had been improved from the last time. We enjoyed every minute - helpful staff, good food, easy access to the internet, good facilities. There is also easy access to a train which goes to Manhattan which is also of great benefit. Surrounding areas include a mall and a lovely waterfront walk. Hotel room was amazing and the bed was comfor.tabl - perfect after a long day exploring. When we go to New York again, we will definitely stay here, and we would recommend to our friends and family

Very, very convenient to PATH to NYC. Literally just around the corner made access to the City very easy. Despite proximity to mass transit, the hotel grounds were well maintained. No parking lot to speak of, was draw back in using our vehicle. Staff was pleasant and interested in helping.

Location! Location! Location! This hotel was simply amazing for so many reason but mainly for it's great location next to the PATH...literally next door...10 mins ride brings you to 33rd/Broadway. Staff was friendly and room was more than satisfactory. Great neighbourhood; safe and with a variety of restaurants seconds away not to mention a mall across the street (Newport Tower Mall). We were in NYC for New Year's Eve and were amazed that we were back @ the Hotel no later than 1:15 am from Midnight in Times Square. I highly recommend this hotel and we are planning a return visit in the fall.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Nice neighborhood with mall and resturants right there. Also easy access to NYC, Path stop right next door! Ease of parking with nice in and out feature. An easy ride to Hoeboken less than 5 minutes away! Our room was spacious with 2 queen beds, couch and a desk. Newly renovated lobby was very comfortable and inviting. Loved it here and would definitly return.

The room was clean, no smell, well kept, bathroom was good, shower had good pressure and temperature
