This hotel is nice, my only downside is that the location is in the middle of nowhere. It is near the airport and nothing else. Be prepared to drive to anywhere else.

There is no restaurant on premises, but a vending and microwave are available. Airport's bar and restaurant was open for business. Room quiet and clean. Good cable channels, but all of the HBO channels seem to have been set for Spanish language.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great! The room was very quiet and clean. The location was perfect for our purpose (close to the freeway). The choice of restaurants for dinner were plentiful and not too far.

Stopped here on the way to Redwoods National Park -- easy drive to fine dining (Eureka or Trinidad) and park attractions. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful with suggestions and promotional materials. Property was clean, and modern in an obviously rustic environment. Excellent breakfast for families.

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The staff were so nice and helpful. The pool was comfortable and fun. Everything was clean, breakfast was great.

Great place just as long as you don't want to use your cell phone. The cheerful staff will explain to you that this is a known problem. It seems that ever since they installed the metal roof a few years back there's been no cell phone service in the building. The front desk helpfully suggests that you sit in your car in the parking lot when you need to use your phone -- which is exactly what we had to do. Too bad, because it's a lovely property and we had a good stay other than the cell phone fiasco.

The location was excellent. Just outside of town. Easy access to the major highways. The restaurants were all local and easy to get to. Good quality for the price.

Located 20 minutes north of Eureka in the middle of no where.

Stay was below average. Holiday Inn charged my credit card an additional 100 dollars without informing me, even though the room was prepaid in full. I will never stay at another Holiday Inn because of this practice. In addition I informing my friends, relatives and business associates of this practice and asking them to boycott all Holiday Inn Express locations.

fair.. room was not cleaned daily.

the shower tub was draining very slow. you're standing on 3 to 4 inches of water that should have drain already. the towels doesn't smell fresh and clean. the pillow cases looks like were never replace. one thing good though is the breakfast.

Far away from town. AC in our room didn't work and we asked 3 different staff for help and they all provided different answers, none of which worked.

The hotel staff was friendly. The room was clean with a nice bathroom. It was quiet . It had everything we needed. It was close enough to visiting the beaches and some redwoods. I just wish the bed and chairs were more comfortable.

Great location

Christina at the front desk was a delight. The staff was great and very infromative about the surrounding area. The free breakfast was very good and allowed us to sleep a little longer - that really helps on long trips.

Everything was great. The breakfast alone was worth it, but the pool and accomodations were outstanding. Had a fridge twice the size of other hotels. Would definitely stay here again!

I was impressed by the hotel. It was clean, large rooms and sizable bathrooms. The surrounding area was very nice too...I felt safe. Other towns that are close...like Eureka all seem a bit run down...I was glad I chose this hotel. I would stay again.

Great hotel. The room was well kept and comfortable, internet service worked great, and the breakfast was excellent. The hotel is located near the beach in a grassy area by the airport but not much else near it. We liked the quiet and could hear a few birds chirping.

Loved the stay. Location outside of town away from major highway was quiet and enjoyable. Easy access to Redwood National and State Parks. It is a little pricey, but well worth it. My only regret is that we were not able to stay longer.

It is quite possible that being given the room right next to a side entrance door that slammed shut all night soured me to this Holiday Inn. It's just fine on the surface. Nice lobby, near the airport, just off the highway. The not so great was the fact my room reeked of smoke, the mattress was protected in such a way that whatever plastic they covered it with made loud crinkling noises and was generally uncomfortable. Then there was the fact that somehow the AC/heating unit interfered with the television causing static on the screen whenever the unit was turned on. I was planning on stain 2 nights but needed to go elsewhere to get some decent sleep. I also think it is very overpriced for the location.

The hotel is very clean and comfortable. I slept better even than my own bed at home. Friendly staff too. The location is not convenient if you don't have a car. Overall, great experience.

Attractive hotel with great service and efficient staff. Clean room.

This was the 4th hotel on a mini vacation road trip involving staying at five hotels. In terms of overall cost and appearance, it was by far the best hotel we stayed at on our journey. Too bad, it was just a layover on our road trip home – no major attractions. The Good: The room was spacious and the furniture modern and in excellent condition. The sound proofing was above average and the hotel offered free breakfast. The Bad: The hotel uses the typical external AC/Heating unit. As a result, it was a little noisy.

This was our third stay at this hotel. It's always been very clean, well maintained and a very pleasant place to stay. I'm originally from the area and think it's the best hotel in Humboldt County.

This hotel was in line with what I've come to expect from Holiday Inn Express. It certainly isn't a luxurious hotel, but the room was clean, the bedding was the newer type (with sheets covering the comforter, so you know it's not some bedspread that hasn't been washed in several months) and the room had a fridge, which is always nice. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful with finding places to dine. The location is right off 101, which is convenient for people just stopping overnight.

We have stayed at quite a few hotels near HSU and they were small and in need of upgrading. We stayed at the Holiday Inn for 5 days and it was very roomy and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast every morning was very good. The Airport in next door but we never heard a plane take off or land. The only downfall the shower had no shelves for shampoo/conditioner ect. I would definitely stay again and recommend to others. :o)

The hotel feels brand new, and has many great features - including a nice lounge area with a double-sided fireplace. Service is always helpful, friendly and present. Breakfast is good for what it is - it's nice to have warm protein options, even if done cafeteria-style just by virtue of the value prop of a HIN. But eggs are hot, sausage is good, and the space comfortable, clean and homey!

I stayed in a Jacuzzi suite and it was perfect. by far one of the finest hotel rooms I've stayed at outside of Las Vegas.

highly recommend

The only good thing about this Hotel was the free breakfast. Everything from pancakes,biscuts and gravey to bacon and eggs. The bed was hard as a rock. be carefull of the large incidental fee charged to your credit card, to put back on it in five buisness days.
