Everything you could want in a fine hotel and much much more. There is a feeling of royalty and charm that is both preserved and updated. Dinner at Epic was top notch. The Library bar makes you feel like a movie star of days past. Wonderful from start to finish!

Upon arrival everything was excellent, the only thing was my room was not prepared. The last guest left the privacy notice on the door knob, so beds were not made and room service was still there. After notifying the front desk, we were given another room and a complimentary $50 towards the lobby restaurant. Once things were settled our stay was most enjoyable. I shall be recommending this hotel to others and will be staying there again whenever I visit Toronto.

We usually love fairmonts across Canada but this was our first time at Toronto's fairmont. We had to wait until 6 pm to get our room! Customer service surrounding this was terrible!! Shocking and soo disappointed. We had a small child and so it was worse to wait that long :(

Only two issues - the exterior of the hotel is being restored, so the grinder tools began at 9:00am - very loud and annoying,... and the room was not finished being cleaned. Hangers, TP, garbage on the floor in the center of the room when we arrived, other than that the cleanliness was fine. Comfy beds, in room thermostats, lovely suite, awesome bellman!!!

The room doors are solid wood but allow every sound from the hallways into the room. Very poor for sleeping, I won't return to this hotel.

I am surprised that this hotel charges $16.00 per night for internet use. Many hotels I have stayed at include this service as part of the room charge. I would think that a four star hotel such as this would include it. There is a lack of information available in the room regarding restaurants and points of interest. Apart from the services provided in the hotel, there is very little. A yellow pages phone book would be very helpful.

My husband and I just returned from a quick weekend getaway and decided to stay at the Royal York. Location was perfect as we were going to catch a Basketball game at the ACC center. 5 minute walk was all it tok to get there. We loved the underground shopping area and the easy access to other shopping areas like the Eaton center. The location is very close to the St Lawrence Market, which has lots of food and items on Saturdays. As for the staff, very friendly and accomodating. The only drawback from this hotel is the condition of some of the rooms. Our bathroom was far from ideal, however it worked. The Bed was clean and that's all that really mattered to us. We don't tend to hang out in our rooms for very long.

I was a little upset after I left the hotel. I realized that a $100 deposit was taken off of my VISA for incidentals; I was not told about this deposit and am upset that I have to wait a few days before getting it back. Other than this, my stay at the hotel was fantastic and I would go back there again.

Classic hotel, great service, rooms are smaller due to age but are well appointed. King bed fit fine with 2 chairs and a desk. Hotel Barber was great, ask for Katherine.

I didn't know much about Toronto, but was told that the Fairmont was a nice place to stay. I had a great time, the staff were very helpful, and the location was perfect for the full downtown experience. The receptionist took the time to give me a tourist map along with a map that highlighted the many underground tunnels. The hotel itself is also very nice incorporating the 1920's art deco style along with all the modern conveniences. My wife and I joked that it reminded us of the hotel in Ghost Busters. Needless to say, I would deifintely stay again!

The service was excellent. The condition of the room was needing some repairs. The room was overpriced for what it was.

Everything was good except that there was no coffee pot in the room so I had to get dressed in order to get my first cup of coffee

How long will this take the only thing inconvience was that you cannot get to the parking garage hope that this do not take long

This elegant, historical, comfortable, close to everything location is my hotel of choice when in Toronto. I recommend this for all your hotel needs when there.

This hotel is all about class and location. I wont stay anywhere else.

hotel and services were great but the room was extremely out of date and small. have stayed at several hotels in the area with much nicer and larger rooms for far less. Wont be going back again

The rooms are tiny. The neighbours were up all night yelling and swearing and their noise kept us up all night. Then in the morning the neighbours on the other side of us were making noises we could hear EVERYTHING! Have stayed there before, and knew rooms were small, but the noise was unbearable. Bad nights sleep and not feeling rested the next day makes it difficult to enjoy the weekend away.

The location is a bit removed from most attractions, but it is fairly central, and the posh atmosphere is enjoyable. In terms of proximity, it is a quick cab ride or drive to most places you may wish to visit (it is near the public transit system as well.) The hotel is quite comfortable, though the rooms are not particularly large. My only real complaint is that it was difficult to find parking on my own. I would have had the valet do it but the lineup was enormous and they weren't moving particularly quickly.

Great hotel, treated with class, and the best pizza hut I've ever had. Upon checkout, Valet parking was 20 minutes late, but they were busy. Not the best 4 star hotel but close thanks to its great service.

Great Location - some stand out service but it is starting to show its age and I am starting to prefer modern and sleek to old and grand. The location is outstanding and the hotel has a special place in my heart so I will return but would always recommend with that caveat

For a hotel that has a perception as being prestigious, the quality of the room didn't leave me with that impression

We had an overnight stay. The room was quiet, comfortable bed, nicely updated. Check-in was quick and simple. Valet service took less than 5 minutes. The Fairmont met our expectations. We would stay there on our next trip.

Guess we expected more from the grand old dame. Weren't thrilled with our stay. It was OK, not great. Breakfast buffet was great.

The Service is Awesome!

We were not aware that the hotel was under rennovations, the pool and hot tub were unavailable for use although they offered use of a pool and hot tub at near by locatins not as cnvenient as on site. Room was clear however hair dryer and tv wre broken. Staff was very courteous and repaired tv right away and replaced hair dryer. Hotel valet parking was expensive guess that is the cost of things in Toronto. Hotel has great access to Air Canada Centre and underground to Eaton Centre and other shopping.

Just fantastic!

Stayed at the Royal York mainly because of it's proximity to the ACC. We were in town to catch the game. the hotel is somewhat dated in areas but it was good value for the money. Parking location and getting to and from the lot leaves a bit to be desired.

The staff had greeted as very well, the room was clean, the new year set up of making sure their were no parties or strangers entering upstairs was fair. the curtains in the room are the only complaint that they don't close fully so in the morning the light shines through.

Located in a great part of down-town Toronto...an endless list of entertainment possibilities. The hotel was beautiful, but the room was very small! My son-15 y/o-and I were very disappointed that the fitness facility was off limits to him!!! We won't be back.

Love the hotel, always have. But room that I was given was less of a joy to the previous ones. Bathroom being the size it was was a dissapointment. A staff lounged on a side table which I passed a comment to her that it wasn't a chair. I maybe should have kept my mouth shut but after she stood up and I passed. I turned around to her sitting back on it. I felt the class of the hotel I was thrown out the window at that moment. I know New Years is a busy season and staff is overworked but standards still need to be met. The Fairmount Royal York should achieve them all the time. Unfortunately not this time.

The Fairmont Royal York hotel is a place I have often glanced at thinking about how beautiful it must be. New Year's Eve 2011 was my first time in that luxurious hotel. I was impressed by the splendor in this hotel. What a magnificent place to spend a night! I have already recommended this hotel to family and friends. I hope to return in the future.

Absolutely horrible showering experience in the room. No water pressure at all. I should have showered in the health club facilities. Besides that, decent hotel with a nice health club.
