My husband and I wanted to stay in Marin County close to San Francisco, but also close to Point Reyes, Napa and the Muir Woods. The Acqua was perfect! Not only is it close to the highway (without the noise), it's located right on the water. We borrowed the (free!) loaner bikes and took beautiful rides around the neighborhood. Plus, two excellent restaurants are within walking distance right down the road. More pros: excellent breakfast spread, cool look/feel, friendly and helpful staff. We will definitely stay there again next time we're in the area. Highly recommend.

The Hotel has a clean, understated, modern decor. It must be a good place to work because every staff person we encountered from the desk clerk to the wait staff at breakfast was friendly, smiling, and seemed to enjoy what they were doing. The entry to the Hotel faces Hiway 101 but it backs up to the San Francisco Bay Trail with great views of the Bay and Mt. Tam. It is possible to walk/ bike for miles on the Bay Trail beginning at Aqcua's back door. (They offer bikes for guests at no charge.) It is less than a 10 min. walk on this trail to a couple nice restaurants. Because of the close proximity to 101, there is some highway noise when sitting outside or with the sliding balcony door of the room open but not when the door is closed. The inclusion of a full lovely breakfast in the morning, wine at cheese in the late afternoon, fresh cookies in the evening with the price of the room and makes Acqua a great value in addition to a fine place to stay. I highly recommend it.

The people at the desk were most helpful. They printed us maps etc. The breakfast was excellent!! We were there to go to a wedding. Some other people at the wedding stayed at the Acqua also. Sitting outside our room (107) and reading Sat morning was very nice. Our rate is 5 stars

The hotel has a contemporary 'boutique' style look and overlooks a section of The Bay to the rear with the main road towards the front, so is a good location if bringing a car. The cleanliness of the hotel was first class and the staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast was included in our room rate and was the best we'd had in the 2 weeks we travelled around the States. The ground floor rooms doors are accessible from the outside of the hotel but security seemed fine. Upstairs rooms are 'contained' within the hotel structure.

was very nice we had good time .i enjoyed the view on the water and the mountain, every thing was clean ,good service , good locations

The staff not real friendly! Room nice but not very clean:( don't think we would stay again! Oh nice cheese fruit and wine though...

everything was awesome for a great price! LOVED the breakfast! can you let us know when you're offering rooms for such a deal?

It was convenient so I didn't have to drive home from a work event late at night. It's a great hotel an a beautiful location.

My boyfriend.called the room a box with an interesting view. No space to sit or relax and the lobby was cold with a fireplace that doesn't generate heat. The breakfast was very good- get there early. Make sure you ask for a really large room. I personally thought the room looked like a large pantry for the maids.

The location of the hotel was great - centrally located to all our outings during our stay. The only complaint was the Acqua only had 2 bikes available at a time, so I missed out on the family bike ride. The morning breakfasts were exceptionally tasty and extra points for the weather because we were able to eat outside overlooking the water. The only complaint was the bed being too soft, but all & all a great stay! Our family is looking for the next opportunity to stay at the Acqua.

The hotel location is convenient both to the City and Sonoma and Napa Valley wineries as well as the coast. Great central location! We were able to pick up some of the freeway noise from 101, but not as much as we originally feared we would. Great shower, wonderful breakfast (the waffles are fab!!). The hair dryers are a bit out dated, ours died after the first 45 seconds, a back up was available at the front desk. The staff were extremely friendly and accomodating. Will stay here again and again.

At one time this must have been a Motel 6. The noise level in the Hotel was very distracting to sleeping from both the highway just outside the Hotel and the cement hallway floors. The metal doors slam shut and thus you hear everyone on the floor returning to their rooms. The views are spectacular and the main lobby looks inviting but the room was dirty, the bed was very uncomfortable and the sheet was torn. The furniture was worn out, the carpet was dirty and stained. The bath was clean but the shower had mold. Breakfast was more than adequate with lots of choices and well set out. I would pass on this one if you want a good night of sleep.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Acqua. The bed was fantastic! The location is right on a lagoon, which made for lovely walks with our poodle, who came along for the "ride." It's in a great locale, with lots of good hiking trails within a 5-minute drive. We really liked their night staff, Ian, who was so friendly and kind. Even the fog was beautiful - as it was receding in the morning, while we were eating their continental breakfast looking out at Mt. Tam - we were also greeted by the most beautiful rainbow I've ever seen! Highly recommended - great rooms, great service, a great experience overall!

I'll start the review with my conclusion: We would (and will) definitely stay here again. We stayed in a junior view suite and the operative word here is "view". The hotel is adjacent to a large body of water with various types of birds and ducks, and there is a paved walkway on which to stroll. It is a very tranquil place, and despite the proximity of the freeway really quite peaceful. The hotel also has a second-floor deck that overlooks the water. They have a nice breakfast every morning (no hot items) in the upstairs area that leads to the deck mentioned above, and a wine and cheese reception in the afternoon. We had a little bit of difficulty finding the hotel because the layout of the roads in the area confused our GPS. It's not in the middle of a lot of other businesses and the signage is understated so keep a sharp eye out for it. This hotel more than met our expectations. They have a great staff and made us feel welcome.

This is a wonderful property in a prime location. Mill Valley is a great place and you have really great access to HWY 101, the GG Bridge, SF, and easy access to I-580 and the East Bay. My lone complaint was that my room was very, very loud from all the highway traffic from 101 and the frontage road. That aside, it was a great place to stay.

A very nice place to stay and right along the water of Richardson Bay. Very convenient and super service.

This is a lovely clean, modern, stylish hotel everything is comfortable and simple and very good for the price. The views over the Bay are a nice touch and the staff are very pleasant. It was very convenient for us as we were hopping between San Francisco, San Rafael and Mill Valley. It was very near the freeway which suited us, but if you want to walk out of the door to shops or anything at all it would be better to stay in the sister hotel in Mill Valley. Breakfast was great but there is no bar or other facility. Only complaint was the noisy ice machine in the corridor

Great hotel and great location. BEAUTIFUL views of the little bay from our room/balcony and from what I could tell, ALL the rooms faced the bay, which is a super plus. As soon as we walked in I felt relaxed. The room was clean and there was a lovely hint of eucalyptus, which aided in the relaxation levels. We had a king size bed and boy was it comfortable! The wine and cheese hour was a nice little bonus and their free continental breakfast is quite a nice spread! Cereals, waffles (!!!!), bagels, muffins, croissants, fruit, coffee, teas...seriously, the best free breakfast spread I've seen in a LONG time! The staff was great. Professional, courteous and informative. I would totally stay here again, especially with the great rate I got through Hotels.com, and I highly recommend it to others. If you're going to stay in that area and want some luxury, it is much better and more affordable than the surrounding hotels. LOVED IT!

I've always been curious about this hotel having driven by for years and decided to give it a chance since we needed a place to stay for a night during the holidays. The location is convenient being right off of the 101 Freeway, but overall, the feeling of the hotel was modern, yet somewhat sterile and cold. There was a very large tub and shower and the view was nice, but it wasn't the kind of place I would want to go back to.

I was traveling on business with a co-worker, she was given a room on the first floor and I had a room on the second floor. My co-worker's room was located outside next to the freeway, she could hardly sleep as the noise from the freeway traffic kept her awake. My room was located on the second floor in a corner by the ice machine; I was awakened every time someone would get ice, which was often until about 2:00 AM, and by any activity taking place in the hallway (people talking, doors slamming and footsteps). Everything else about our stay was nice, the staff was extremely friendly, the hotel is very clean, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good.

I used to stay here more often but the hotel has gone down. My room had issues that need to be repaired - cracked sink, non-working fridge w/ice build-up and heat that wouldn't regulate. In addition, the highway noise is awful - glass very thin and it sounded like I was sleeping outside most of the night. The location is convenient, however, the attention to detail and comfort has been better in the past. I'll find somewhere else to stay from now on.

I specifically chose a water view room after reading others reviews. Indeed, am so glad I did - it was lovely, quiet, spacious. The second I stepped out of my room I could hear Hwy 101 and I can't imagine having a room on the hwy side. If noise doesn't bother you, then go for the price of those rooms, but as a business traveler, I often need to be able to rest well. Otherwise, the hotel is great! Breakfast offerings were nice and the coffee was great! Very close to the Golden Gate Bridge.

This hotel property is absolutely peaceful and rejuvenating even while being located easy on-off to Hwy 101. The decor is soothing, the staff extremely helpful, lovely views out over Corte Madera Creek and the estuary contribute to the feeling of get away. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone who needs to travel to the Bay Area. Wine and cheese in the afternoon is complimentary as is the am breakfast. Wifi is free and easy to use. Coffee, tea, and snacks are in the lobby anytime. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

I believe the Acqua Hotel has some better rooms, however we did not see them. It was explained to us that the rate offered through on-line travel services does not qualify for those rooms and none were available anyway. It was a clean but very very small room. Reminds me of some rooms we found in Europe. The hotel is on the 101 freeway and I mean 100 feet away. It is noisy. There was a gap under the door that let it all in. It had a minature patio with a nice view of a local lake, however the door was stuck and wouldn't open. I wouldn't have enjoyed it because of the noise. The free breakfast was nonimal with boiled eggs, good coffee and other stuff. We would not stay there again or recommend it although the nicer rooms might have improved our experience. It's location is convenient to the city once you find it. If you decide to try it, don't depend on your GPS to get you there. Mine took me by it twice before I gave up on it.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights on our trip around California, and it was by far the best hotel experience we had. Excellent service, large clean room and a very good breakfast buffet. The hotel is located right next to the highway, but this didn't bother us at all. There is hardly anything to do around the hotel, but since you'll only stay here if you have a car, that isn't a problem. A very good hotel to use as base for trips to Point Reyes, the wine country and other northern bay area locations.

ハイウェイ脇のホテルと知らずに予約をいれてしまいました。ジュニアスイートに宿泊したにですが、ハイウェイを通る車の騒音で寝れませんでした。ウォーターフロントの部屋で、お庭は綺麗なのですし、部屋も他のファシリティーもモダンで素敵なのですが、もう二度と泊まらないと思います。

I highly recommended it to anyone.
