Only one smile from one employee through out stay. Understand under new management. Very disapointing. Frankly distance between parking, checkin, room just too much for handicaped husband. Instead of continueing vacation in Nevada needed to return home. Negitive to BoomTown. What ever happened to the place our parents raved about in the seventys.

Some paint might be a good idea for this place. It's nice, but showing its age. Some members of the staff could use some re-training in customer service because there were some bad attitudes -- it took an e-mail to the CEO of the corporate owner to finally get me in touch with the general manager to right some serious wrongs. Hotel could have done more to enforce the non-smoking rule on floors designated as non-smoking. It was easy to get in and out to I-80, but parking for south tower is difficult. Probably won't stay there again only because I wasn't impressed with Reno at all.

The beds and pillows were very comfortable.

No remote Bathroom dirty. Air conditioner very noisy

This was my first trip to Reno and probably my last. But this hotel is nicer and cleaner then others in the Reno area. I like how there was a 24/7 food area and a Bistro. The only negative thing is they double charged me and when I showed it, they were apologized and said they would reverse it. I am giving it a few days and then calling if the charges aren't reversed. But other than that the hotel is nice for Reno, if we had to go back we would much rather stay there then dowbtown Reno.

No mention of facilities available (gym), no map of hotel and most eating facilities within the hotel closed except for weekend. No restaurants in the surrounding area within walking distance.

very nice- last minute stay for me-super rate - will stay again when in Reno

Boomtown south tower. This place is run down and it shows. The outside looks nice, but the inside is old and dusty. Look at the hallways its bad. The room was really small. I went to get into my bed just find what looked like blood and black hairs on the sheets. It look like someone remade the bed. The other bed we think had dust mites and we got bit all night. The room was very dusty and bathroom was really small. Problem cant shut the bathroom door. Shower there was more water coming out the bottom then the top. I had to use a ice bucket to wash the soap off me. No real channels on TV. The Tv remote had Duck tape holding the battery’s in. There is no clock in the room. They safety lock the window so you can just open it about four inches to let a little air in that old sticky room. The room has old acoustic ceilings. AC/heater unit was so loud your not going to hear anything outside. Good luck sleeping if your cold. No microwave. There is a little refrigerator on the ground. Over all I can not recommend any live person stay at this hotel. I would recommend going ten miles up the road to Reno and stay at one of the larger hotels. The price is what you get. Will never come back here. Management didn’t give a rat about the problem. I stay overnight and spend 700 to 800 for a night of fun.. ZERO stars form me. No microwave, No Clock, Nothing good.

We stayed on a Monday night. Our room at the South tower, was clean, comfortable, though smaller than Silver Legacy’s , where we stayed last time. It has a refrigerator but we didn’t use it. The beds are fine but pillow soft. The sink/coffee machine is in the bathroom, not very convenient. Although built next to the freeway, the car traffic is muted and don’t bother us. Our room has a great view of the snowcapped mountain. Being right off the freeway, getting in and out is quick. It is 24 miles from Truckee, about 8 miles and 15 minutes closer than Reno hotels. Staying in Reno downtown hotels requires going down Virginia Street and negotiates up to a 10 stories parking structure. The distance estimate given by hotels.com is off, may be because Truckee is a big town in terms of area On the night we stayed, the Boomtown casino and slots had barely any action, the poker room was empty Dining and entertainment options are limited. Our family of 4 went skiing at Boreal and we need a clean room. The costs us less than Silver Legacy, and much less than Larkspur Hotel. Larkspur Hotel is right in Truckee. It is very nice and includes great hot breakfast. In sum, for skiing and just want a clean room to rest at a reasonable price, Boomtown is perfect! If you want casino action and entertainment, Reno hotels would be better. If you don’t want the driving and don’t mind paying more, Truckee and NorthStar area hotels are ideal.

The room was spacious for the price and the stay was perfect if you want to gamble at night and ski in the day. It's also not far from the other casinos. My only real problem was the water didn't drain very well in the shower or the sink, and the coffee maker really shouldn't be in the bathroom, but there is a Pete's Coffee that open's at 7am down stairs.

Boomtown provided an efficient and economical place to stay while traveling to the Reno area. The hotel has quick and easy access from I-80, is close enough to Reno for business or pleasure, and has a basic level of services for a hotel/casino. The room was clean, efficiently laid out, and of a decent size. The bed was reasonably comfortable, although the pillows were of poor quality and insufficient. Although the room was non-smoking, the casino allowed the use of tobacco products, so smoke was noticeable up on the hotel floors. Although the facility had several restaurants, only the cafe, small pizza shop, and a Pete's Coffee outlet were open. Signage was poor, and access to elevators was limited. There was construction going on in the casino area, which caused a great deal of noise. Air conditioning for the room was ineffective. Front desk staff were disinterested and lacking any emphasis on customer service. Overall, the hotel and casino were dated and lacked amenities anticipated for a hotel/casino complex. The room rate was very economical, but you definitely get what you pay for.

South Tower is kinda funky and not well maintained.

Desk person took a long time to take care of us. Key was not working very well.had to push door.only one key worked.

The bed was comfortable, but the bathroom was so small that you had to either keep the door open to be in it or stand close to the sink to close it. It was very small. The security latch to the door would not work either. We thought that we would try this hotel out because it looked nice on the outside. But we have stayed in hotels for about the same price with much bigger bathrooms than this one. The bathroom door even hit on the shower rod over the tub. The food at the one restaurant we ate at was very good though, and the waiter was very courteous.

It had been quite a while since we were at Boomtown. The casino area renovation was very nice, however; it did not appear they have done any work on the hotel rooms. Room was okay. A lot of stains on the carpeting, torn wallpaper, carpeting coming loose from wall, drapes had holes in them, refrigerator didn't work. The rooms are in need of repair. There isn't a "Do Not Disturb" sign to hang on door, as both sides of the sign ask for housekeeping services. At 8am housekeeper knocked on door and was in the process of opening the door at the same time. Did not give us time to respond to her knock. This was a little annoying. Next time we will stay somewhere else.

The room (and the hotel in general) were rather dirty. Obvious stains on the carpet, two bloodstains on the topsheet on one of the 2 beds in our room, a view of some broken pipes on the roof, smears on the walls, paint chipping off. We went to "Cassidy's" for dinner; after the 20-minute wait to be seated, we waited for 50 minutes for our food. All we received during our wait was water - no bread basket, nothing. We eventually left; interestingly enough, we weren't the only ones, two couples before us had done the same. We used to make it a point to stay at Boomtown whenever we came through town, but not anymore. I am not sure what happened to the place, but it has definitely deteriorated.

We will not return nor will we recommend it to our friends.

We skied a lot of the major resorts from the Boomtown and had a great time. The distance was not very far. The rooms were very cozy and had all the necessary items. The maid service was very good. The high cost of fuel made this place a great find for us.

Room was nice, had a little patio which would be nice if we ever go up in the summer.

I asked for a non smoking room and got a smoking room. Smelled awful, couldn't sleep because of the smell. Every place to eat was an hour wait. Horrible customer service.

the south tower needs to be taken out of service and remodeled

Our room was supposed to be non-smoking but clearly somebody above, below, or beside us had a smoking room or didn't care, because the smoke smell would waft into our room every few hours and we had to open up the windows to air out the room.

Rooms in the North tower are renovated. South tower rooms where I was are old and shabby. Overall, I would not recomend.

It was a very nice place and the price was right. I will stay here again. Very pleased.

1. room is small. 2. too much NOISE from air-condition. even some noise coming from up-stair room when we turned off our own's. sleep not well. 3. smoking smell is in the game hall.

The purpose of this stay was to go skiing with my son. Bad mistake. The hotel was old. I didn't want to go into the tub without my shoes. Which was a good idea...the water was standing while I showered. YUCK! Fun center where the kids hang out was outdated.

Hotel is old...pictures on internet are NOT representative of reality. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was subject to a lot of deferred maintenance. Small casino, whole building smelled of cigarettes. Peet's Coffee in the lobby was awesome, food in cafe was good, price is fantastic! Right off the freeway with Cabela's next door. Great location, easy freeway access and price make this a good place to stay.

when i told front desk about blankets they did bring fresh clean ones. The different feeling of the clean vs. the dirty was unbelivably disgusting.I then showered and the showerhead was like a drizzle. The tub then was plugged up. I think I will be staying at The Grand Sierra,The sumitt rooms(through hotels.com) . You get a fridge and microwave for that....no other place in Reno that I have found has them. Great way to save $$

I was very disappointed with this hotel. I rely on the hotel rating that Hotels.com posts and was very let down to discover that this hotel was more like a two-star versus the three stars that Hotels.com had it rated as. It was filthy - mold in the bathroom, stains on the bedding and walls and the carpets throughout the hotel were filthy. Not to mention the entire hotel had a musty smell. I will never stay at this hotel again nor recommend it to anyone.

Decent room at a low price. Great deal. You can't ask for more.

At check in we were told our one kings size bed room was unavailable so got a 2 queen bed room. the staff was polite and friendly. when we arrived at the room there were small holes in the wall (i think at one time there were pictures or a mirror there) they need to spackle the holes , there was a candy wrapper (not mine)up on the shelf in the closet. and our window looked on to the closed and dimmly lit pool area (its enclosed). needless to say we never opened the drapes. the bathroom was clean and stocked with soap, shampoo and plenty of towels. and as we checked out , I was hit with a 6 dollar resort fee ? not sure why , didnt ask . but it seemed everything was closed for the winter . I'm not sure if I will go back . we didn't eat there .

Upset after your website stated total amount due is x, then in fine print add almost 15% for resort fee. Total amount due should include everything.

Very good value. Room was fine, and the food was good and reasonably priced.

Very nice room, very clean, modern, updated, and everything was new. Very quite room. I can't say enough about the complimentary restaurant style breakfast! It was awesome! I would definitely stay here again.

Good value. Wind whistles through the windows. Nice restaurant. Pleasant staff.

The room was out of date, smelly and the carpets were stained. Horrible

I was very impressed with the service and amenities at the hotel. I really liked the charm of the place. It gives the sense of an old gold-rush hotel, with dark woods and leather. I found it to be quite classy. Well done. My only disappointment was that I could not use the free wifi with my iPhone. Their login page was not supported on my browser.

Good service, good food, nice hotel, good place to gamble.

The hotel was just fine. Well lit rooms and comfortable beds. Could use some updating as the TV was old and had snowy reception. Cafe served an excellent breakfast with good service. My only complaint was the valet service which was completely understaffed considering the one guy had to bring down luggage from the rooms AND get people their cars. The valet told me the other guys were out sick. Hotel Management should have sent down someone to give people their keys, even if we had to go get our own cars. Instead departing guests were left not knowing what was going on and the robotic sounding hotel operator was not helpful nor did not bother to inform us why there was a delay other than saying, "He is helping other guests".
