Grenada Grand Beach Resort - جرانادا

My boyfriend and I had a fantastic stay here over Easter weekend. Our first impression was wonderful, as the lobby and view are beautiful.. And from there on, our experience just got better and better. The grounds were beautiful despite it being the peak of dry season in Grenada, and there were always plenty of pool towels, chairs, and hammocks available even though the hotel was nearly full. The room was basic but still had all the creature comforts we needed: comfortable bed, good shower water temp/pressure, and AC that worked quickly and quietly! The hotel was very clean, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They recommended great restaurants and arranged reservations and cabs for us. We enjoyed drinks and food at the pool bar, which were very reasonably priced - comparable to other spots in Grenada. Breakfast was delicious with lots of local options as well as an omelette bar and fresh fruit. Ten-minute walk down the beach from Umbrella's (a fun beach bar) and Dive Grenada, a local scuba/snorkel company. Beach House and Aquarium are both fabulous restaurants that are a 10 minute cab ride away. The only complaint we had was that on the Monday we flew out, the breakfast restaurant wasn't open early enough (it opened at 7 am) for us to eat before needing to be at the airport. Very minor hiccup! We will most DEFINITELY be back. Thank you, Grenada Grand!!

We only stayed 1 night before flying home after a cruise. We chose this hotel because of its location (on the beach and close to the airport)and because it had free WiFi in our room, very important to us as we had to make new flight reservations and needed online access. Although only one floor up, there was no lift, no problem for us, but anyone with mobility problems may wish to request a ground floor room. Our room/bathroom was very clean and had been renovated to a good standard. Breakfast was a buffet in an open sided restaurant...the presentation and quality of the food was average, but our main concern was the local birds flying around the open restaurant trying to take food, we had to take it in turns to visit the buffet, the other person keeping the birds off the table! We didn't eat any other meal apart from breakfast, so can't comment on other meals. The pool and surrounding area was clean and attractive (there was a separate children's pool) so the main pool was quiet and relaxing. It appeared to be a quiet hotel, good location and overall we had a good stay there. The staff we met were friendly and courteous. The beach is very nice and great for a long walk. We would stay there again, if passing through Grenada.

Great location. Scuba diving right there. Lots of sites to walk to. Hotel was very good at setting us up with drivers for tours and activities. Grenada a very friendly place.

well worth the stay, pictures don't do this place justice, its very huge has a couple bars, great location on the beach, one of the best places to stay in grenada

Lovely place, great staff (very friendly) and a quality experience all round. I would definitely recommend it to others.

this is a very good hotel. There have been some comments about breaking on the internet, but I thought the hotel went to great lengths to give a comfort level with safety and security. But the biggest plus is it has a fabulous location on a gorgeous beach. The service is island time, but we were in no rush. The waterfall swimming pool was beautifully landscaped. The chaises on the beach shaded by trees was my favorite spot. Lots of grounds. Nice spot.

Waited in lobby for 8 hours before room was ready. No drinks offered. Arrived in room with inoperable ceiling fan and air conditioning unit literally falling out of the wall. The AC ran so loud we had to turn it off to sleep, which is sort of warm in Grenada. No shampoo or soap in the room after cleaning on Day 1. No towels in the room after cleaning on Day 2. Room phone inoperable on Day 3. Room service not answering on Day 4. We prepaid for an Executive Beachfront room, so we expected things to be right. If I'd not prepaid the whole week, I'd have walked away before getting to the room.

There should be coffee perculators in each room that is replenished everyday. This is standard in most hotels world wide. There should be adaptors for the current. If diving classes are to take place in the pool this should be done early in the morning between 8.00 and 9.00 a.m. while most people are having breakfast. Certainly not at 11.00 a.m. and 12.00 when other customers want to use the pool. The same with the cleaning of the pool. This should be done early in the morning not 10.00 a.m. and 11.00 a.m.

The hotel is a 3 or 4 star in my opinion, but with mixed reasons. The lobby, front desk staff, beach and location are all fantastic. The rest of the building happens to be a little on the older side - older style with outdoor corridor with rows of doors. No ambiance here. Room OK. Clean with a comfortable bed, bathroom nicely updated but bathroom door did not shut and room safe did not work (I didnt complain as I was there just one night). Went first week of Feb and hotel seemed very quiet, some bars not open. Nice average size pool. Beach chairs/towels plentiful, shade under trees. Very close to the airport, the other hotels and the craft market.

I have stayed in many 5 star hotels in the carribean..the grounds and gardens at Grenada Grand are breathtaking. My husband and I never had to get up early to reserve a chair...and you have the option of 3 pools or on the beach. The rooms are dated but we never spent any time in the room. The staff was cheerful..my only complaint would be that food service tends to be a little slow. Food was only a little above average but you can walk to many local restaurants and bars. Finally, beachfront rooms are very close to water....we could hear the waves even with patio doors closed. Walked the beach and checked out the more expensive resorts nearby...no comparison to the foliage, flowers and mature trees in The Grande...we will be back next year!

Renovated garden room with new split quiet air conditioning, new bathroom. safe and refrigerator. Beautiful grounds, several restaurants and bars, very nice common areas with new furniture and splendid swimming pool. The service was slow but the service people were very nice. Would definitely stay there again.

We were very disappointed with the quality of service. The hotel was renovating during our stay. We didn't have water for two days. It was super noisy. They could have move us to another room. They did not do anything.

The hotelcomplex is big, but almost no guest - even in the touristseason. They try to look as a luxerius hotel, but it is not. The maintenance through years have to been very bad. The staff is unprofessional. You really do not get what you are paying for - not close to either.

Beautiful grounds and beach, but service needs improvement. Many of the wait staff are curt and unwelcoming. You get the distinct feeling that customer service is not on their top 5.

We had a wonderful stay in Grenada at the Grand Beach Resort. The amenities are not unltra modern, but they are very comfortable, clean and well maintained. The restaurants and pools are very upscale. And the beach is absolutely perfect (and safe). Diving excursions run from the on site dive shop and you can visit the underwater dive park nearby (a must see). It's a short drive (close enough to walk if you're up for it) to St George for history and shopping). All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Loved the hotel - great service - great beach - food a little over priced - but everything else was great!

We stayed at another hotel close by for two nights pre-sailing. Then we stayed at the Grenada Grand for two nights post-sailing. Our reception was very good, checked in promptly and bags taken to the room with a smile. The Grenada Grand has a beautiful facility with multiple pools, restaurants and bars. The room was very comfortable and clean, luxurious feeling. Unfortunately, none of the restaurants/bars had menus that appealed and when we had a hamburger at the bar, it was pretty tasteless-better food off grounds IMO. Surprisingly, service was churlish and unfriendly at the bar, unlike everyone else we came across in Grenada. Maybe he was having a bad day. I would stay there again, if I get a really good deal but plan on eating elsewhere.

How can you not love this? Its in the best Carribean Island, on the best beach, its comfortable, got easy access to the beach, bar open all the time, great amenities:tennis, gym, pool table. Just dont eat there! Food is only OK and shockingly expensive...

It was a nice hotel and I had a good stay-I was most impressed by the food whic I didnt expect to be as good as it was.

Our recent stay at the Grenada Grand Beach was very nice. The staff was friendly, especially our server Linda. The rooms were clean and recently updated. Food selections in the restaurant were limited, due to the off season. However, the quality of the food was excellent. Overall, I was very pleased with our choice of this hotel.

Stayed 2 nights, had to pack and change room 2 times due to shower that flooded the whole room, then the next room had a toilet that was malfunctioning and no room safe, after 2 hours of the 1 full day we were at the resort they put us in a 3rd room that was older with a view of water trench and plywood at rear of hotel near a wing that was was being rennovated with jack hammer noise. Front desk was not friendly or particularly helpful. I would not return, very dissapointing after staying there previously 10 years ago, only plus was that it has a great pool.

spent 2 nights on the hotel. One on the way up and 1 on the way down. Room the first time was much nicer than the 2nd time.

The staff were kind and nice !! I had a great time in this hotel and I totally disagree with the low ratings. Food was a little bit expensive and the taste was not the best but there is a shopping mall with a supermarket across the street.

A great hotel--very appealing when you enter lobby and grounds and a beautiful garden setting with two pools. Right on a wonderful beach. Good breakfast in restuarant but slow service. Rooms are basic, but beds are very comfortable. We were very happy with it and the price and quality was excellent. The only thing I think they should have done was put us (two rooms) on the ground floor as the hotel is large but no one was there--very empty. We should have asked when we were checking in but didnt realize until later how few people there were there.I would go back there though.

The location on the Grand Anse beach was by far the best. We had an ocean view complete with a hammock. The view could not have been any better. The grounds were immaculate. We could walk to two good restaurants on the beach as well.

Very good beach front hotel but there is a very "sharp"annoying outdoor air conditioner noise came from the back of the nearby garden-view room running all night long.

No Fridge, No Microwave, Not even a Jug for water. For a Hotel of this standard, these little things make a big difference. It did have a 110 V outlet for North American Appliances. Great Location. Great Staff. Well Landscaped, and a perfect beach.

Very nice hotel good service but the food at the restaurant was very bad and way too expensive . The staff was ok though

Beautiful setting and great beach. Service was slow and sometimes non-exsistent. Food very expensive and not very tasty. Beach towels hard to come by and staff was very pleasant but clueless.

We stayed room only for a week, did not try the breakfast (had a fridge in our room and managed with that and the local bagel shop..lovely) but the lunch and evening meals were really not worth the money. There are a number of really nice restaurants in the vacinity so definitely try them. Umbrellas is a short walk down the beach and is fantastic for american ribs/fries/corn/burgers/hot dogs etc and a great atmosphere lunch or evening. For a great evening meal out go the The Beach House, very short cab ride (many of the restaurants will pick you up if you book early) which has fantastic food. The location of the hotel though if perfect, right on the beach with two great pools. Staff are brilliant and the rooms very comfortable. We upgraded to a sea view room which would definitely recommend if you like to sleep with the sound of the sea! St George's not such a nice town but worthy of a quick daytime visit. Car hire easy from just outside the hotel and worth it to get out and about a bit. Do go to La Sagesse if you can..nowhere more romantic ! Bring plenty of insect repellent with you..got bitten more here than anywhere else travelled in the Caribbean.

Beautiful resort on a beautiful beach. Only two complaints:bad coffee and disappointing food.

It was overall excellent, maid service was good, depending on who was on duty.

Room ac unit was very noisy could not sleep. Hotel was clean beach excellent. Service poor seemed under staff.

Overall was extremely disappointed with this hotel. The executive beachfront was no more than a simple hotel room. Requested a refrigerator but was told the room didn't have one so we requested a room with one in it but we were told there were none available and we would be put on a waiting list...never did receive one. Had a coffee maker but was given instant coffee for the first night. Drink prices were very expensive in the resort but if you walked directly out onto the beach there was a beach bar where you could get the same for a quarter of the price. The beach was great but then there a other places to stay that are also directly on the same beach. The grounds were beautiful but needed alitlle extra cleaning, the pools were great and were only used by afew of the guests. Restaurant tables were left with dirty dishes still on them so if you dined later on it made the dining experience something to be desired. We requested an early check in but had to wait for one and a half hours after arriving. Would not stay there again.

The hotel is located in front of a magnificent Caribbean beach. The facilities are good and the price is fair. Staff is very friendly, however, the service is extremely slow! Once I sat with my family to eat sandwiches at the pool bar and it took more than one hour (!!!!) to get something to eat. My younger son (7) even slept while waiting for the food. On another occasion, I ordered a bottle of water from room service. After an hour I decided to call back and the lady there told me that she would try to find somebody to deliver my order. All in all, it´s a fair hotel located at an awsome place, with friendly staff but very poor service.

My husband and I stayed at the GGBR for one night recently. The grounds themselves, are beautiful and well kept. The pools, and the hotel itself, was very clean. The few issues we had may not be important so some, but to us, they were very important. There are no refrigerators in the rooms. When we went to get the ice in the marked areas for the ice machines, there were no machines. The front desk told us they would call us back to tell us where we could get ice. They never called. We were trying to have a cocktail at sunset. There are coffee/tea making services in the rooms, however there are no coffee filters. The Coffeemate supplied was so old, it looked like a stick of gum. There were no robes supplied, like stated. The views from our room were beautiful and the beach is very clean. Overall, depending on what type of services you are looking for, this is a nice hotel. Just beware, the rooms are very basic. I would not stay there for a long term visit, but a short term visit would be fine.

The hotel was recently upgraded, it looks very nice, pools are amazing, rooms are big and nice, with all the equipment you may need, but, everything is go bad when you need to eat. Menu: very limited, and expensive Service: Main restaurant, very nice people Service: Pool bars and stations, personnel dont care at all about you, they just ignore you, keep talking with their colleagues like if they were on a school break and it takes a lot of time to get your food order. Service: the staff is not well trained, and they can not assist you with any guidance on what to do, how to do things or where to go, it is just useless to try get useful information. I ll go back because of the beach and pools, but, all the beaches in Grenada are like theirs, so if you dont mind moving to other area, you wont miss much.

Rooms on the beach, good food, close to the airport, several other plusses.

Had a second story room on the beach with an ocean view - great. Visit to town requires a taxi or a car that must be driven on the left hand side of the road.

A very pleasant not fancy 5 star resort but nice! The ocean view rooms are upgraded. Staff was very friendly and helpful! I enjoyed my few days there !

The hotel grounds are lovely. The staff extremely attentive and helpful. The hotel rooms could be upgraded a bit and the plugs should be more accessible for use. The food was excellent especially at the Bar... i had the best seafood cobb salad ever!

The grounds and pools are beautiful. Rooms a bit more dated, but we weren't in them except to sleep!! Very nice for the price!
