The Peninsula Manila - ماكاتي

I've been staying at The Peninsula for years and it has always been one of my favourite hotels in the world. Standards have slipped recently. ---->> Almost impossible to place a room service order as the telephone operator barely spoke English. I had to repeat my order 4 times to explain what I wanted (a continental breakfast). --> Very slow and poor service in The Lobby Restaurant. The service here used to be spot on. ---> My entire party (3 of us) became deathly ill after eating dinner in The Lobby Restaurant.

Typically what you would expect from the Peninsula, I do business in Manila and this is the best hotel for service I have stayed in. Close to the Greenbelt areas with fantastic bars and restaurants within walking distance. Shopping malls such as Glorietta is a must for good quality and priced goods. This is the first time I have stayed at the Peninsula as I generally stay at the Manila hotel. Although the service and standard at the Manila hotel is similar the Peninula wins because of its close location to restaurants, bars, shopping etc. Highly recommended.

Got in early morning, my room was not ready yet. Got upgraded to a suit =) for a small amount. Stayed for 2 nights, was so comfortable in my room that I never got down to the pool area :) Really friendly staff, felt like they really enjoyed working there! Excellent bakery in the cellar, can recommend their ownmade sandwiches and homemade fruit/nut bar! Would recommend this to anyone, worth every penny!

The Manila Peninsula is hard to fault. It is an edifying combination of style and class well up to the very best international standards. Although not cheap by Manila standards it's still excellent value. Thoroughly recommended.

Hotel lobby is nice enough -- albeit slightly cramped as either sides were sectioned off for cafes. Once you get to the rooms, it screams UPDATING NEEDED. Older-style, fairly plain, and certainly have seen some good years of usage. It would have been quite nice in the late nineties or even early 2000's, but we are in 2012. No, I would NOT stay there again for the price I paid. Plus points -- near greenbelt and shopping centers, CBD, in a very upmarket district that is probably the best in the entire country, free wifi, free replenished fruits, free drinking water, nice landscaped pool.

For the higher end hotels in Makati, we were very happy to try The Peninsula. We had previously stayed at the Shangri-La. I must say this place was just as good, if not better. The staff was kind and attentive, the interiors were beautiful, and the grounds were pristine. The gym and pool were gorgeous. The best part?- it cost about a third of the rates at Shangri-La. I would definitely stay here again, a real treat! The breakfast buffet is good, worth getting up in the morning for.

Lovely 5-star hotel close to the malls of Makati. Nice little pool area, good breakfast, helpful staff and wonderful lobby.

Stayed here for X-mas with my kids (12 & 7) grand entrance with decorations just like walking in a fairy tale, while in the lobby you are serenaded with X-mas carols and friendly staff, great breakfast, location, safety, walking distance to all the shopping & rest. great pool for laps- go early!! Concierge is a 5 star- very happy to see them provide a excellent service compare to international hotels they will find things for you to do with kids & other unexpected request. Xms buffet was about $$$-- worth the price- I was looking for a filipino dessert-there was none!!! Happy to come back with my family!!! we will be back soon??

We extended our 2 night reservation twice to make a full week at this fabulous Hotel. Great shopping, dining and easy to get around. 5* service in every way. Fabulous dining in all restaurants. Magnificent Lobby! Will return on our way home.

This is my first stay in a Peninsula. I have been to Peninsula HK for lunch and Manila falls short of the reputation of HK. Breakfast was included in my package but I had expected more selection and quality of food. Overall, it was above average hotel.

Hotel reception looks great. I got locked out the locker because the battery was weak. The Toilet shower has a leak. I have stayed in many 5 star hotel, I feel the are not doing enough maintenance to their room.

From outside the hotel doesn't show what you can see inside. The two wings look a bit dirty from the street. But inside there is an amazing lobby and well maintaned rooms with all you need. Very friendly staff. Location is perfect in Makati. To the airport 30min if no traffic. With traffic it can be much more though. We had breakfast included which was actually a buffet. Good for the whole day and great quality. Althout the hotel doesn't belong to the cheap ones, if you can catch a special offer it is worth some additional money in comparison with other hotels in the area.

Top quality hotel..one of my favourites

We had a pleasant week here and it was a good bae if you have business in Manilla. The only gripe was the hard-sell on upgrading to the business lounge which we did and were so disappointed (poor snacks and ambience) that we down-graded mid-week

I've stayed in many hotels & the Peninsula is a nice place. The ;Grand' lobby is impressive & gives an impression of class. The location is wonderful, close to the Greenbelt area which is a wonderful shopping & dining area-theres no where like it anywhere. I would definately stay at the Peninsula again & recommend it to anyone seeking an upmarket experience in a great location. Rooms were clean & well appointed.

I just stayed for three nights at the Manila Pen on my fourth visit to Manila and my first time at this hotel. As a frequent business traveler, my primary reason for choosing the hotel was that it included wifi access (which is now a minimum condition i now have for choosing a hotel) it was a great place to stay......quick walking access to Greenbelt, easy road access for taxis, a grweat breakfast buffet and excellent service. I had a deluxe room which was very good space wise and the bathroom was large and clean. As with most people in the Philippines, the friendliness of the staff was excellent. Everything worked well and i will have no problem deciding where to stay again on my next visit to Manila, and recommending the hotel to others.

i really loved to spend my days in the peninsula... its a great location... i will be back soon

worth the mmoney but be prepared to spend 1500pesos (35 usd) for buffet or at least $20 oer person for ala carte past that, it is tops

Absolutely fabulous property in the heart of Makati. Close to the malls and a very safe area in which to walk. The hotel is luxurious and the staff very friendly. Handled transportation and tours well.

I typically stay at the Shangri-la... but Pennisula's service and overall appearance was even better... probably because it equals or exceeds the Shang but is much smaller... less people. LOVED IT! Will stay there from now every time.

One of the finest hotels in Manila, centrally located in Makati. Not so easy to move to/from the hotel, but it is a great experience. The most valuable is the courtesy and politness of the service, who will try their best to accomodate the requests.

This hotel is located near the malls in Makati (walking distance) which was great for shopping and dining experiences. We received an offer for a special price discount to upgrade for a bigger room-which we did. Everything was great. The only thing was the Room Service: We ordered pasta - which wasn't delicious and also the philippine food...for the price you have to pay it wasn't worth it.
