Howard Johnson Inn - San Diego - سان دييجو

The cleanliness of room/hotel surrounding are not to my standard, there were beer can & soda syrup on the drive. Quality of service I had requested a next door room for my sister whom had just have a heart transplate with my mother in law is 85 yrs old, I had a bum knees, but my mother & sister in law room was #119 & my room is 103. Requested for extra pillows cause the pillows in my room are worned & very thin, just got 2 just as worn as those in the rooms. Amenities, continental breakfast, the coffee is cold, the juice (orange) is warm & the cenemons & bagul are are hot like couple of days old. Would not recommend this place to any one I know or associates.

If u want a room that smells bad light don't work properly, shower doesent work properly and mold in all the corners this is the room for you

The walls are paper thin, we could hear our "neighbors" having relations. The room was not clean, found socks under the bed. It had a musty smell to the room. The only good part was the shower was super hot. Guess it has to be to kill any infection. Stay at the Howard Johnson on Hotel Circle, not this one!

Dirty, Dirty, Dirty, ring around bathtub, luggy on shower curtain, cob-webs in corners, floor stained and spotted carpet. Comforter had huge red stain, bed hard and noisey. Towles dingy and stinky, toilet had "something" on toilet seat. Was afraid to give my credit card info to hotel desk at check in. Kids and I were afraid to go to sleep, checked out at first light...

Reserved a king bed, but at check in was told they only had a pair of queens. The desk attendant acted like he was doing us a big favor to NOT charge the higher rate for the 2 queens! Inside, the tub/shower had a recoat (probably many years ago) that was now peeling off, exposing 50% of the old tub surface. The tub spout had a small jet of water shooting out of the crack at the tile. I am sure it must have been filling the wall with water too. I was initially swayed by the proximity to SDSU where we were visiting our daughter on Homecoming weekend. Other local hotels had jacked up their prices for Homecoming weekend but Howard Johnson looked normal. I should have realized that it was cheaper for a reason. Will not be staying there again.

I was satisfied with the price.

it's 4 am and we have seen numerous cockroaches, and the bed is so uncomfortable that I am already looking for a better room somewhere else, And the smell wasn't bad but so strong that we had to air out the room before we turned in for the night!

WORST place ever. Paint was peeling off walls, smelled horrible, bath tub surfacing was coming off, "continental breakfast" was stale. We cancelled second night and went next door to Best Western, which was 1000% better.

The hotel had ROACHES!

...spotty service and cleanliness. The room and furniture are frayed at the edges, but basically clean. Maintenance is at a minimum. Phone and wireless internet cut out frequently and randomly. The carpeting is overdue for a deep clean. The fridge made awful noises when the compressor came on. Front desk service was harried, with a knack for referring guests in need to somebody else. Poorly supervised children camped in next room caused nightly disturbances, persistent knocking on the shared door; requests for room change were denied, though there were many other families coming and going over my multi-day stay. Seems like a nice, value-conscious choice for families visiting for fun, as is convenient to airport, Old Town, Mission Beach, and--yes--Seaworld park.

First of all, the rooms were not very clean, especially the floor. I had my one year old in the hotel with me and I couldn't allow her to crawl on the floor for fear that she might pick up crumbs, dirt, etc. off the floor. The A/C unit did not work either and it took the hotel staff 4 days to move me to a different room. The worst part was that the hotel staff disclosed my personal information to the San Diego Police Department. I would not stay at the Howard Johnson ever again, nor recommend anyone to stay there.

a fine bargain and close to freeways. simple, clean and comfortable. only complaint - no chaise lounges at the pool!

Its doesn't look like much on the outside very outdated room. They say cable Tv I don't call 25 channels cable. The place was clean. For what I paid I think I could have done better some were else.

DO NOT recommend. It's the worst hotel I every stayed. The room is dirty and stinky. Everything is broken in the room.

When I first checked in they gave me a key to a room that had someone in it already. Once i got into my room it smelled horrible. The window was broken and the carpet was stained. The towels that they had in the room were stained, and the bathroom itself was a mess. Very disgusting place to stay. I would definitely find somewhere else to go, it isn't worth saving a few dollars.

The staff at this hotel is exceptionally nice, but this property, in a somewhat economically challenged area of San Diego, needs some maintenance. If cheap is what you're after, this is the hotel for you. I will make one small recommendation for the Mexican restaurant next store -- I think it's called Casa Machado. The margaritas were great and the food was excellent and fairly priced. Eat there, but you might want to stay somewhere else.

bath tub was broken, we asked to give us different room, we were told that all rooms are booked. The young boy at the front desk was only person available to talk to, he said that he could not leave his place and go to the room to check it, his manger would come in the morning to look at it. He refused to give us refund and told to contact hotels.com. we had to walk out. no refund given to us.

Det var et helt greit opphold. Vi måtte bytte rom, pga lekkasje under vasken. Om du vil oppdage byen, er det litt for langt unna, og vanskelig å komme seg ned til stranden. I forhold til SDSU er det en 15-20 minutters gange så er du der. Helt grei service, de hjalp deg godt når du trengte det. Helt generelt så får du det du betaler for.
