A central location with great service and very omfy beds

Sensational breakfast buffet. Would come back for it.

Convenient and clean. A little bit of a rabbit's warren to get to our room. Decor starting to age, but still clean and comfortable. Great breakfast.

Good place to stay convenient to most attractions and great restaurants. Expensive parking but extremely good! Well looked after and front desk very polite and welcoming. Novotel restaurant extremely over priced much better restaurants around within 5 min walk.

Pretty average, not worth 4.5 stars, more like 3 stars

Overall well run hotel, marred by over-selling the breakfast buffets (prepay) resulting in queues forming before 7:45 am. We got to restaurant at 7:50 am on Easter Sunday and had to wait till 8:45 am before being able to enter the restaurant. If we hadn't pre-paid for the breakfast for the three of 3 (including 5 year old), we would'nt have waited. Hotel should not oversell their breakfasts, or at least offer other options, eg refund, or staggered entries or convert to room service to avoid disgruntled holiday makers (and there were MANY).

We were most impressed wih the friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast menu was most impressive and all food was top quality.

Great reception..cheerful helpful clean easy parking not expensive centrally located grand daughter 10 year year a gymnastist enjoyed the gym enjoyed watching fireworks from gym on the Saturday night best view considering it was raining outside a memorable stay

very happy with location, service. food was excellent swimming pool area was kept very clean and a pleasure to swim in close to room.thank you for a great stay.short walk to major shopping centre.

The location is great, just 2 blocks from the hotel is the shopping centre. Room is very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is really nice. I am happy staying in this hotel and would like to recommend people to stay here if they are travelling to Canberra.

Excellent service from friendly and helpful staff. Bed was extremely comfortable - didn't want to get out of it! Will stay there again.

Great Location. Car park is small. frustrating when parking medium size car. Pillows need changing. They were like half filled sacks of sand. I looked for second pillows in wardrobe and only found one not two. Again this was another sack. Check your room location when you first arrive. We were put in room 401 which is next to a services corridor. This was very noisy due to housekeeping dropping things in this corridor. Objects were banging against our walls. I rang front desk and they swiftly moved us to a better room. Staff were generally friendly. Check the mini-bar as we had items missing and had to alert front desk on arrival

As far as the hotel itself - it was quite adequate and very close to everything. Unfortunately the beds were very hard and not at all conducive to a comfortable good night sleep. On arrival I enquired about parking and was told that yes there was undercover parking. Not once was I told there was a daily charge for this parking and only found this out overhearing another customer - not happy about that. I would have been more than happy with the parking cost if I had been told about them.

Wonderful stay at a Novotel as per usual. The front counter staff were very warm and accomodating. Thank you.

Staff were very professional. Maintenance: lights in the bathroom had blown - this was reported to front desk staff. On arrival I always check the fridge and check the tally is correct. There where a couple of items not replaced when the room was cleaned. I ensured this too was reported. Overall the staff were very accomdating. The rooms were clean and tidy and location was central and suited my needs.

The best stay we have had for a while. could not ask for more. So close to everything and we never have to take the car out. I would prefer the Car parking charges (which I am happy to pay given that the Hotel is located at the city) included at the time of booking. excellent Hotel.

Conveniently located for access to bus travel, restaurants and general information. Staff routinely helpful. Breakfast good. Relatively quiet in room location.

The bed was soft and comfortable, however in addition to the two thin pillows on the bed, (and one spare in the wardrobe), there were two cushions on the bed whose covers had obviously not been changed in a long time as they smelled very strongly and unpleasantly of perspiration. When I reported it to one of the front desk staff he thanked me for letting him know as he thought that hotel staff could no longer differentiate between pleasant and unpleasant smells after working in the hotel business for a certain length of time! This may well be so but it might be quite nice to change cushion covers on beds regularly, just on the off-chance that they may need it - no sniffing required. The cushions were removed by a hotel employee, never to be seen again. The cleanliness of the box bathroom, which contained a toilet and shower, would have been acceptable in a public washroom but did not meet hotel standards as there was visible grime on the appliances. The washbasin, inconveniently located outside the bathroom appeared clean enough. The car parking charge has gone up 20% to $18 and there were three parking charges on our bill for a 2-night stay. This mistake was rectified when I pointed it out but I don't think it should have happened at all. We ordered room service on the second night, the food was well-cooked and served and was delivered swiftly. Overall, it was a reasonable stay but I think for the price we paid they could have run to two clean, fluffy pillows each!

Excellent staff & location Hotel room was a tad tired, toilet was broken & shower was half arsed. To be fair bed & everything else was good. Parking is odd, you park and they keep your key and shuffle cars to suit - but seems to work. Breakfast was excellent.

I traveled as a young adult on my own and i found the staff treated me with respect, they were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the wait staff at the restaurant were very professional, the view was beautiful too. Unfortunately i didnt get to try the breakfast because i slept in. haha..

Excellent: clean, quiet, great breakfast buffet included, price was good because we booked early. Parking expensive but is free overnight in the street behind the hotel.

The staff was very friendly and helpful and it was a nice hotel in a good location to the Civic part of the city. They also have a nice breakfast that at least with my hotels.com package was included. The pool, gym, and spa were also nice and all indoors. My one complaint was that from the description when I booked I thought I had free parking and free wireless internet in my room. However when we arrived, we discovered both of these had significant daily fees, enough we found both parking and internet elsewhere. I had purposely booked this hotel over others because of the "free" parking and internet. There is internet for 20 minutes at computers near the lobby, but the connection is so slow that webpages kept timing out and I couldn't compose a single email in the time allotted. As an overseas traveler trying to communicate with people back home, this was extremely frustrating.

Terrific value. Good food. Friendly staff.

I booked through a third party yet during the quick checkout I was charged again. This doesn't give me confidence in quick checkout or the Novotel itself. Check the credit card statements when you return.

Located right in the centre of the city - close to restaurants, shops and in walking distance to the lake. Excellent facilities, great buffet breakfast and outstanding personal service. Definitely be coming back.

Well located hotel, excellent value for money. We were there in school holidays, and though the breakfast service was stretched, staff and organisation were very professional. Dinner service was a tad slow, and the food a little overpriced for the quality. There is member's food discount I believe, so perhaps that is a factor in the pricing structure. The usual rubbish collection at 4am, but thats not unusual. We stayed on a recommendation by friends, and will recommend it to others

Novotel Canberra is well situated, clean & well presented. Only prob was greasy breakfast - stay away from the bacon! I would stay here again.

th ebed wasn't made for 3 days. the staff drove my car without asking me. i had to pay 15 dollars a night to park. not worth it. spa and pool were great.

Service Excellent , great location and facilities. Will stay again when next in Canberra

I only have one thing that I found that was aproblem to me and that was one of the beds was far too soft and a little more room to get past the desk and bed, but everything was just fine.

Very good hotel if rather expensive

Ok hotel in a city that hasn't much to offer in the accommodation department. Nothing special to mention - but then again nothing really bad either. But this hotel is definitely not a 5* or even 4,5* hotel. There is a pool but I didn't try it 'cause it was packed with kids everytime I went there. The hotel advertises serving organic banana bread at the breakfast, but we had to ask it separately from the kitchen staff 'cause it wasn't out on the serving. And the next morning they were out of it completely. Hotel is just next to the city centre where all the restaurants and shopping centres are situated.

Hotel is conveniently located close to good food restaurants and a cinema complex. Web access facilities are good, the room large and clean except for the rather dated and somewhat mouldy shower area. Staff friendly and helpful. Room seemed a bit overpriced for what was provided but this seems to be Canberra accomodation in general. Car parking a bit tight and charged for per night.

Excellent location, within one block of all amenities - shops, restaurants, theatres, etc. Staff were courteous at all time.
