Hotel was quite decent and acceptable for a little less then a hundred a night. King size bed was comfy and had feather pillows. Wifi reception was good. Offered free drinks for happy hour with cheesecake. Water pressure was a little lacking, but everything else was great.

I was very pleasantly surprised at how nice the Country Inn Suites in Ames was. The bed was comfortable and the complimentary breakfast was hot and delicious. I would definitely stay here again and will look for Country Inn Suites in the future.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definately stay there again.

We had a very positive impression of this hotel from the moment we walked into the lobby. It smelled wonderful and was nicely decorated for Christmas with cookies and beverages readily available. Inside and out, the hotel was immaculate and in good repair. Every employee we encountered was friendly and helpful. The kids enjoyed the pool area the most which was always very clean and stocked with plenty of towels. The breakfast was very good with a large selection of hot and cold items, including a great fresh fruit salad. The room itself was your usual hotel room with comfy beds and mini fridge and microwave. The only very minor complaint was the noise of the fan on the heater, otherwise it was a quiet room. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Our stay was OK. The hotel is beginning to show its age. Our bed was OK. The breakfast OK. The evening cocktails was an added surprise.

Very nice for overnight stay. Room had a stale smell but overall cleanliness was great. Staff was very welcoming.

We found the hotel clean, convenient and quite comfortable! The rooms were larger than we expected and the option of complimentary breakfast was very nice. Also....enjoyed the chairs out front for an evening glass of wine on a perfect fall day!

The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. Breakfast was decent. There was no TV reception or internet the night I was there and the curtains did not block out the sunlight in the morning.

The staff at Comfort Inn was friendly upon check in. The lobby and grounds of the hotel looked well maintained. Once we got into our room and utilized the pool, everything changed. We were in a King suite, and it didn't meet my expectations. A fire sprinkler was hanging out of the wall, the furniture was mildly stained, the ventilation was not good and the room wasn't cleaned completely from the last use. For being a King suite, the decor was bland - lots of blank white walls. Visually, the room quality didn't reflect the price - very dated look. We utilized the pool on this visit with mixed feelings about it. The pool temp was nice, but the whirlpool had cold water jetting out and was not relaxing. There were only a few of us using the pool, but there were zero towels on the shelf. The ventilation in the pool area was not good as well. I feel that the air temp in the pool area was hotter than the whirlpool. The food for breakfast was of good quality. There was cold air blasting out of vents making the hot breakfast quickly a cold breakfast. The breakfast area was by no means hot either. We couldn't find a table where there wasn't cold air blasting on us. Overall, for the money, I don't feel that I got what I paid for. On the surface, everything looks good, but underneath it all there's a lot that is keeping this hotel from being top-notch.

Service was professional. Room was quiet and clean. Continental breakfast was above average. Perfect for a quick stay over.

There are so many things good to say about our stay there. We were there 2 nights. The coffee, cookies and friendly reception staff is the first plus. The pool area was wonderful and so was our room. I cant say enough about the great breakfast and the woman attending it was super nice. We enjoyed happy hour 1 evening too and what another nice perk for travelers. We would stay there again and recommend the motel to anyone staying near Ames. Gret job.

Staff was friendly, room was clean, breakfast was good - several options. We were going to Iowa State University and this was about a 10 minute drive. Would stay again!

We stayed at the Country Inn Suites last weekend. The location was great - just a few minutes from the Hilton Coliseum and close to lots of restaurants. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The only two little things were the heater in the room seemed to either go on robo-power or we had to turn it off. The "low" didn't work, but we never said anything about it either. The plumbing in our room was having issues, but the staff was very prompt in addressing our concerns. Staff was nice, breakfast was great (the waffles were wonderful), All in all a great place to stay. Would go back again,

But the drain in both the sink and the tub needed attention

Very clean hotel room and hotel in general. Room was exactly what we needed and was clean and comfortable. Would definately stay again. Breakfast was good and hotel staff was very friendly. Thanks for a great stay

This hotel is exactly as advertised. Very safe, clean and I would recommend for a nice place to stay.

Even though this beautiful hotel is located near many colleges and businesses, it was delightfully quiet while close to freeways. The pool was warm and inviting. Breakfast was a feast. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Very affordable also. Try it out & you'll never stay at any other Ames, Iowa hotel.

This is a nice place but our AC wouldn't work and it was 90+ out so we changed rooms 2 more times to find a room that the AC worked.

close to main highways

I'm used to booking stays at hotels and having the double queen. This was the first time in a long time that I was treated to a king sized bed and it was fabulous! The linens were very comfortable and the pillowtop made the experience downright luxurious. They have "beverage service" for a few hours each evening which is a nice touch, but they serve Franzia for wine (you know, the stuff in the box). Other than that no real complaints.

The room was very comfortable with a heat pump type A/C unit. The beds were made up with excellent pillows and soft comforters you could weather any type of weather in. Baths were well-supplied with towels, soaps and just about anything you could want in hair products. Breakfasts usually consist of u-make 'em waffles, usually eggs and meat as well as rolls, fruits, juices, excellent coffee, and cereals--just about anything most folks prefer. There is usually a "Happy hour" every afternoon from 5:30-7:30pm featuring free adult beverages. There were some minor maintenance items that could stand some attention but overall the hotel is a great bargain. We will definitely stay there again.

The hotel was clean and the pool was nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. It was right off the interstate and not too far from gas station and food.

Hotel was easy to access, clean, and staff was very pleasant. Our destination was ISU, and hotel was easy to get to from University.

The hotel was not in a convenient location and the fact that we were not able to check in on time made it more inconvenient.

I stayed at the Country Inn and Suites because I was using their meeting room for a training. I found that a needed some extra copies and the front desk staff provided them very quickly. Both the room I stayed in and the meeting room were very nice.
