Reception was welcoming.....Room very musty if not 'smokey' in spite of my SPECIFIC request for a non smoking room.....clean but OLD....good location but not worth the $$$ in my opinion....maybe the 'newer part of the hotel would be better

The hotel is good. Book in advance for a good deal. We had a club room. The choice of drinks served at the club lounge was good. The breakfast has more variety at the restaurant then the lounge.

I had a bad experience on my first day of checked-in. I had my room changed 3 Times! First, they checked me into the executive club floor with no window in the room! 2nd they checked me into another room in the executive floor with the phone lines dead although now there is a window! the 3rd room was more pleasant than the previous two. However the deco in the room is not enticing, the wall is plain with the wall paint peeling off, and scratches of wall marks! I mean you know, its an Executive Club Floor!

We stayed in March with our family of 6 and were quite pleased. The staff was very friendly. We liked how it was just a short walk to Chinatown and taxis to anywhere are not expensive. From the airport we hired a bus just for our family of 6. It was $50 U.S. for anywhere you wanted to go. We went to the botanical gardens and it was about $6 U.S. but we needed 2 taxis. The only 2 issues we had were first, the rooms had too much air freshener or fragrance. One was particularly bad and we asked the desk if there was a way to air out the room. The windows did not open for safety reasons so they asked us to leave the room while they brought in an ionic air purifier. I am not sure why we had to leave but the air filter got rid of the chemical fragrance smell. The second issue was breakfast and the high prices of the restaurant. The breakfast buffet was $25 and we were not very hungry. A bowl of oatmeal was $7 which was what most of us ended up having. We asked if there was somewhere else nearby to go for breakfast and no one could give us a suggestion. It would have been nice if the hotel had more reasonable prices as food in the area is not that expensive. The room was comfortable but the beds were hard as in most of Asia. We loved the view, the area was safe and the rooms were large. We definitely recommend this hotel but you may want to ask them ahead of time not to use air freshener or fragranced cleaning supplies in your room.

We went back to celebrate our 1st get together at the same hotel, as the room we stayed for both occasions are quite spacious, comes with bathtub, other amenities and with reasonable price. Although it was a bit out of way but it was definitely worth it.

As a business traveler, it is important for me to have a hotel that offers internet either free or at least with affordable weekly packages. Furama advertizes "lowest internet rate" on their website which is not even close to true. Their daily rate compared to what I paid for 3 days in another hotel, not mentioning that you can find hotels with free internet in Singapore. Their reasoning was that I logged in and logged out many times so they used their per-minute pricing. When I complained to the concierge desk about the rate of internet, she said, it's mainly because the vacancy rate is high and so they have to compromise their internet rate. I had a coffee in their beautiful tropical lounge and had to pay the price of a buffet breakfast in an average hotel for just 1 cup of coffee. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the bill. No coffee is worth that much and it was just an average cup. I don't appreciate when hotels rip off their customers because they have a high overhead. I understand if a hotel charges a high price for a good service or a restaurant charges three times for a bottle of vintage wine but a simple cup of coffee?? I cannot mention any specific rate in this review due to policies of the site, but the price of an evian bottle of water in the room compared to a cab ride from the hotel to the Quay. Their breakfast buffet was absolutely outstanding and one of the few things that I greatly enjoyed about the hotel.

I needed a hotel for my mobility-impaired wife and I when we attended a re-union. I had stayed at this hotel a few years ago and liked it and it was reasonably priced for Singapore.Reception was excellent, doormen and porters genuinely solicitous and helpful, and although I had asked for wheelchair friendly, I was pleasantly surprised to have a room equipped for disabled, including a shower chair. Very nice room, smallish but well equipped. When my wife got into the wrong tower by mistake, security knew her name and room number and guided her back. Reception and doormen also knew our names and were exceptionally helpful, even protective of my wife. Excellent Indonesian food at their restaurant. My only gripe was internet connection, which was incredibly slow on cable connection in room but fine on wifi in lounge and seriously overpriced at SGD 25 for 24 hours. Overall, very impressed and content.

Very friendly, polite staff. Useful shuttle bus but need to book and would be useful if more frequent, however taxi's reasonably priced. Furama City Centre in more central location near Chinatown but not as good in my view. Upgraded to deluxe room free of charge. Fantastic varied breakfast and free when booked with hotels.com. Would book again if in Singapore.

Good value for money! There was an initial confusion as the online purchase included breakfast but upon checkin the staff said no. Although it took a day to get sorted out, they were professional in handling it.

I travel quite a lot and stay in a lot of hotels. I am always pleased when I find a very reasonably priced hotel that has just about everything a much more expensive hotel has. The staff was pleasant, room clean, restaurant just fine, nice lounge to have a drink. I didn't check out the gym, though. Even little touches like there was a plug converter in the socket already. Internet was free - something that drives me crazy when it isn't. Location was fine. Singapore is pretty small. I will definitely stay there again.

Regular 4-stars hotel with no luxury. Very nice surrounding location (close to the quays area) but a little bit far from downtown or subway stations.

If you look through the internet, you will think that it may be a recently remodeled hotel. As soon as you check in, you will find out that the decoration of the room is out of date. And you got to pay the extra for the upgrade. It's not a reasonable sales tactic!!

I had orginally planned to stay at another hotel while visiting my financee in Singapore. Changing hotels was one of my better decisions! The Furama Riverfront was absolutely great! I have stayed in hotels from New Orleans' Monteleone to the Presidential Suite of one Dubai's great getaways, but I have received no better customer service than what we received at Furama Riverfront - Singapore.

The best thing is the breakfast - buffet, with so many options - ideal for those who like filling up before a day of sightseeing or a day of traveling. Rooms simple, pool clean (no spa though), and good location for a 20 minute walk to the riverfront attractions (e.g. Clarke Quay).

Recently I had the need to visit Singapore on a brief business trip that I needed to extend beyond my original two nights. having not been satisfied with my first hotel, I checked the net for a replacement. Having stayed at another Furama property before, I was confident that the Furama Riverfront would meet my needs and expectations. That it did. Great value for money, very convenient location with a $10 cab ride getting me to most attractions and venues. when my business was concluded, I then stayed there another two nights to enjoy Chinese New Year celebrations. i will go back to this hotel, and soon.

The hotel is nice. Gym is great and the breakfast is awesome. Location is lacking. It's quick by taxi but it's not as close to some downtown areas that I was expecting. WiFi strength was also very poor in my room, and was very overpriced.

The customer service of the hotel reception is extremely poor. It's a thorough disappointment and I had expected to be greeted with a smile but I wasnt and it took the particular staff ages to pull up my reservation record. On top of that, I wasn't allowed a later check out time and I was given an old room. On the checkout day, I was treated with a ruder staff who demanded that I had used the Internet even though I had contacted the reception that I had experienced intermittent failure. Giving me 20% off just didn't satisfy me or diffuse my anger. Overall, the experience was horrendous.

Excellent hotel, fabulous rooms, good staff. A bit out of the way - you are reliant on taxis unless you are prepared to walk a fair distance to the main centres of attraction. It is all in walking distance though. Would definately book here again.

Bad and incompetent reception

Nice hotel, Great Indonesian buffet as well as breakfast buffet. Disappointed by the $25 a day for WiFi!!! And can only be used on 1 computer... Location is not great. About 15-20mins walk to nearest MRT, 10mins walk to nearest mall. However 5 mins walk away, great local food places of every kind. Great affordable seafood.

Good hotel. Nice environment. Good spacious and clean rooms. Bathrooms may be improved

Overall we had a good night there. Everything was fine but just that the bathroom has some foul smell.....

It was wonderful. What an excellent stay. I recommend getting an executive room. The staff is lovely and very friendly.

Bed is clean, view is good, but takes at least 15mins to the nearest MRT, and room is running down. With similar price, there might be better choice

On receiving a free upgrade from superior to deluxe room on arrival I was expecting more from the room. It 's only advantage was that it was a good size. The fitout I think was more like a 3 star. The pokey little window right in the corner of the room looked at nothing but thick greenery and was difficult to see through as it looked like it had not been cleaned ever. But on the good side, the room was very clean, the hotel staff were excellent, the hotel buffet food was very varied and of excellent quality. So on the whole, not a bad experience.

Room was clean, had a nice view, was well maintained and serviced. Staff was eager to please. We booked an 'Exectuive Club' room that gave us complimentary breakfast in either the Club room or the hotel restaurant and drinks and heavy hors d'oeuvres each evening. Food prices, like all the hotels we stayed in, were over the top by U.S. standards but in line with the surrounding areas. All up, we'll return.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Emails to Conceage were answered quickly before our arrival. Check in easy. Room was a little tired and the coridor smelled musty, although room we were in was good. Found Hairdryer in a draw but not connected to a plug only a wire. Advised Hotel that plug in sink didn't plug the water! The scales in the room were very kind giving us 10 kilos off our weight! Maybe best if the hotel didn't put them in if they are not correct. Hotet sent person up to look at plug & scales but even after 24hrs they hadn't done anything. Breakfast was great, lots of selection. Would reccommend as an average hotel. Could pay more attention to the detail.

Its a very good hotel, big busy and usually full. I was fortunate to be upgraded to an executive room and had a bed of gigantic proportions to sleep in. The room had all the required amenities and for a change it is refreshing to find a hotel that does not charge extraordinary prices for internet, which was wired into the room rather than wireless..Other reviewers have mentioned that the hotel is far from restaurants and shops. The Orchard Rd shopping district is a $5.00 cab ride. If one exits the hotel, turns left and walks up about 150 metres one will find a pedestrian overpass. Use it to cross the road and walk a few more metres in the same direction until you see a canal. Next to this canal are lots of restaurants and sidewalk cafes with a huge variety of cuisine styles. This is only a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel is well priced on this website and offered me good value for money compared to similar hotels in Singapore, charging double for much the same offering. If I get the same rate, I will definitely stay here every time I am in Singapore!

very clean, quiet and large room and bathroom with comfortable bed and bedding. very friendly and helpful staff

The Furama is fine for a short stay but not that conveniently located. The club lounge is the highlight of a stay and I would definitely recommend the small extra cost.
