Very small rooms but clean. No place to site other than on bed and desk type chair. Most people went down to the lobby to sit if they were going to eat or visit with people.

It's a "no frills" hotel, but in a good way. The room was on sale, so about half the price of the neighboring hotels. In return for paying less, I got all of what I needed - a nice bed, decent bathroom (with tub) and a bowl of cereal in the morning. I also liked being able to open the window for fresh air, and not listen to the heating or cooling cycling on and off all night. (Of course highway noises aren't a great trade off...) Frills I might care about on a longer stay would be a fridge or microwave, a bigger room, and a more elaborate breakfast. But then again, I'd be paying more....

Delighted with the room. Everything was clean and the hotel staff was very attentive. The price was reasonable.

terrible service! Slow internet

I've stayed here many times in the past few years and have always been pleased with the cleanliness, the room size, the comfort of the beds, etc. The breakfast is nothing to shout about, but it's adequate. The value for the price cannot be beat. The in room amenities are exceptional for a hotel in this range. My only wish is that they had in-room coffee makers, but every room has a microwave, so my instant works just fine.

I have stayed at this hotel on at least two trips. I like it when travelling with my dogs. They put you in a first floor room and there are lots of grassy areas outside for potty breaks. It's a very comfortable hotel with friendly staff and unlimited coffee!

Room was clean & average for the price. Staff were friendly. Main complaint was the noise. It's right off the interstate and the noise level from traffic was terrible. Sounded like my window was open. Couldn't sleep all night.

Loved it.

I brought my dog and they were welcoming about that. Nice check-in help. Did not stay for breakfast although they have one. Easy to get to. It was generally pretty clean. Bathroom was great.nice big fluffy towels.the cleaners should use a crevice tool when vacuuming the corners and edges of the carpet but that was my only complaint otherwise the carpet was clean.

Enjoyed by stay here but the north winter wind was blowing through the heater/air conditioner wall unit, making it cold & the heater was running off & on every few minutes. They did give me a blanket, which helped.

The desk attendant was friendly but needed to have her cell phone on silent while helping customers. The rooms were nice with good lighting. But the bathroom was a little small....I felt klostrophobic when I shut the door. The room, bathroom & over all hotel was clean! I always worry about that when staying in a hotel. The location was fairly easy to find. I wish there were maps available for the surrounding area.

Needed a simple room for a business trip and this room exceeded my expectations. Friendly staff, clean room & a good night's sleep.

It was just what I expected. Clean hotel, good service, ok breakfast. The bed wasn't the most comfortable but worked out well.

Visiting Iowa state. Quickly in and out. I would stay again.

Difficult to control the heat in the room. Fan shut off frequently even though the room had not reached desired temperature. Cold air coming in under the heating unit. Bed was very small for a queen and mattress was thin.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The room was small so if you are going to be there for awhile you might keep that in mind, but it was perfect for what we needed.

It was a moderate hotel around that area. Not too far from restaurants and stores. Pretty convenient and nice. Good value.

A no-frills hotel (no pool). Seems that lots of out of town sports teams and/or music ensembles choose this hotel due to location and low rates.

Best Value for Hotel in Ames Period. Staff Awesome, Price is right, felt like home. Our new home in Ames.

needed a place to sleep one night, and it served that purpose very well. had a tv, bathroom, and a comfortable bed and room enough to not feel too confining.

Very functional for my needs as business traveler. Nicer than I might have guessed, given the low rate

If not for the fact that we were only staying overnight due to traveling for our final destination, I might of ran away. A room with someone else's dirty laundry on the floor is what we got. Beds were ok, and we slept fine just to continue on to our next stop. Overall just a cheap place to crash.

Two issues: No coffee maker in room; the room had only a straight back chair Coffee was available in the lobby but when you are not on the 1st floor, it is a hassle to get it. One straight back chair not comfortable for reading and doesn't provide enough seating when you have guests like my brother and his wife visiting me in the hotel. Otherwise, it was a great hotel at a very good rate.

overall great experiences. 2nd stay this summer. 1st time room was very clean. The second time one of the beds was dirty and the floor wasn't clean. Bathroom was very clean with plenty of towels.

This is a great place for a night or two. The bathroom is extremely small but the room is spacious. There is really nothing around the hotel but everything is within a few miles.

On our family trip this was the least comfortable of the places we stayed. The walls were thin as we could hear the conversations of the people in the room next door clearly. The bed was supposed to be a queen but was only a double. It was clean but a very small room and nothing really stood out about the place.

Room felt damp even with ac on.

We were disappointed by our stay. When we got into the room--late in the evening-there was a slight smell. By the second day I realized that it was a combination of dog and mold. We had planned for a three night stay, but finished our business early and left after two. Sign me sad.

Room was small but had everything we needed to feel comfortable. Hotel was very clean and had a good breakfast. Service was great. Our toilet was clogged and somebody was there to fix it within minutes of calling down to the front desk. Excellent value! Will stay again if I am in Ames!
