DoubleTree by Hilton Berkeley Marina - بيركيل

Interesting ...... Marina view and if go towards and look you can see SF about 15 miles away... I am a developer builder and I can tell you 100% that my building 3 has a foundation problem... The room slopes to the east about a 2% grade..... Very odd very weird..... Doors do not latch...otherwise very good quiet stay...

Cleanliness of room By the Marina Indoor pool and sauna

I stayed here before. The first time it was real nice and I got a good deal. The last time I stayed there I got a small room in bad condition the receptionist was not very good. I don't I will be staying there again. I thought I found a nice hotel close to home to just get away sometimes, but I guess this is not the place. The hotel room I got looked like the room they would give a street walker, if you know what I mean!!!! Disappointed in the Hilton!!!!

We stayed here two nights and would not hestiate to stay again in the future. The staff was wonderful, thanks Jared for being so personable and caring. Our room was beautifully decorated and the bed was super comfy and the pillows amazing!! We had a king room with a marina view which we would recommend. Lots of free parking and close to the city of Berkeley but not within walking distance. We did not eat at the restaurant but it looked like a good place. Thanks for the memories!

Enjoyed our stay ... great walking location with the marina and surrounding open space. Woke up to the birds singing ... No neighborhood in walking distance so spent some time in the hotel restaurant when we were not into getting in the car again. Only major complaint was the extra charge for wifi in the room. Seems so unnecessary -- but then we did end up in the lounge more, checking emails .. and enjoying a drink.

Comfy and well-priced. The shuttle took us where we needed to go in Berkely and picked us up when we were done.

Overall our stay was excellent. We did have an issue when we first arrived. They gave us a room that was not clean. However i called the front desk and explained the situation and they immediately resolvedthe issued. They came to our room and walked us to a new room and gave us complimentary breakfast. My girlfriend and I were both very surprised. They defintely know how to solve a problem. We're defintely going back.

Close to sf, great location, beautiful pool, nice room, and good service. Best cookies ever.

The front counter and support staff are always fast and helpful. The rooms are clean... but sometimes the towels are not. (do a quick check at the start of your stay) The wireless network service is good. The Bar can be a good place to end the night, but eat dinner out. The evening dinning is elegant bistro priced, and chain restaurant quality. The kitchen makes up for the dinner, with a great breakfast buffet and omelet bar. I have gone here twice in the last 3 years, and everything was exactly the same...

Amazing bed, very comfortable overall, its in the marina only 10 min drive to downtown berkeley

The Double Tree has a wonderful Berkeley Marina location. The marina has been upgraded with new nature paths and is a fabulous area. It also has great access to the freeway and Berkeley. The hotel has been updated so everything except the elevators looks new. The only problem I had was someone smoking in the adjacent room (we had a door to the other room) which made our entire room smell of smoke. I complained and instead of changing our room (I'm assuming because there was a convention there was no other space) they supposedly sent a security guard to the room next door. Even after being out for dinner, drinks and a night on the town it still smelled like smoke unfortunately but thankfully not as strongly as before. I also had to wait for creamer for my coffee. Long enough my coffee was only luke warm. I'd just suggest more creamers be left in the room. Easy fix. Other than that our stay was wonderful.

Our stay was fabulous as always. The only compliant is the room we were in did not have a full Length mirror. Whenever we stay here it's usually for a special event. A full mirror would have been nice

We enjoyed our stay so much. From check-in with Denny to all the smiling helpful staff including the waitresses in the restaurant to the maids to Ryan in the bar to your new manager. We all had a wonderful stay. It was convinent to get around using Bart we did not have to drive in San Francisco.

Nice hotel, Great Location, and freshly remodeled

I loved the hotel and the location was beautiful with a lot of views and areas to walk around. I would highly recommend this, very close to restaurants, shopping etc. but feels like you are on an island.

The state of the first room we had was atrocious ! There was mold on the ceiling and it smelt of old fecal matter. The second room was much nicer comparatively . But, there are much nicer hotels in the area ecspecialy for the price , we should have stayed elsewhere.

Hotel on the east bay, Berkeley - not the finest Double-Tree hotel, but the location is wonderful - by the marina, by the big park, by the water. The room decor was comfy, bed and linens of good quality, quiet and clean. Disappointed to pay $10/day for internet and would prefer a coffee maker with a pot rather than the one-cup variety, but overall a nice stay - with easy parking at no charge.

Hotel staff was very friendly. Housekeeping could have been better in the hallways. Food was not so good, expected better for this hotel.

Only one criticism, impossible to sleep past 8 when the maids start cleaning. The chatter and screaming down the hall was disconcerting.

Good location, ate at Skates around the corner, very nice! Clean Hotel, empty on the weekend.

Nice room, great views, friendly staff. Would've preferred a BART shuttle that ran more often than once per hour, but otherwise, would definitely stay again. Free parking is a great perk!

Very nice hotel and great grounds. Only complaint is they do not have queens bed, only two doubles and they were just too small for two people.

The site was an excellent one to access San Francisco when all hotels near the Convention Center were booked. The room and service were above average but could be improved. Overall we were pleased.

If you like water views and beautiful walking trails this is a great place! Room was clean and comfortable. Car needed to Berkeley or San Francisco. Staff attentive and accommodating. Would definitely return again!

Disclaimer: I am a hotel snob. I like modern spaces, so the Doubletree is not my idea of a most desirable hotel. And they put us in a wing that was farthest from the lobby, down where the hotel was under construction, which did not help with my impression. That said, this hotel was great for my daughter's birthday sleepover. The room was recently redecorated in what I would call the "1990's Starbucks" style. The indoor pools were lovely, especially in winter. The bed was comfortable, the place was not noisy, and we enjoyed the courtyard and bayside grounds. The only issue we had was that the rooms were not ready when we arrived; we waited 20 minutes for one and more than 2 hours for the second room to be ready. However, the great guy at the front desk (Jared) offered us some compensation in the form of breakfast at the restaurant; we were very happy with this solution. Thank you, Jared!! The people at the Doubletree work hard to make the stay wonderful. It is not a luxury class hotel, and building 4 is undergoing renovation and is a tad ugly outside, but is a great place for a quick overnight in Berkeley--especially for the price. I truly appreciated their concern for guests.
