UMI Hotel Brighton - برايتون

Nice hotel but needed double glazing across building as the noise was awful could not sleep the first night and have a young 4year old daughter and was running marathon next day. Had to get the hotel to move our room ' they took 10% off the bill.

UMI is a perfectly fine hotel. It was one of the cheapest in the areas and you get what you pay for. We had the option to "upgrade" to a seaview room at a cost of 20 quid a night -- which seemed more like an extra cash grab than an upgrade. Also, you had the option to "upgrade" for a late-check out at 10 quid an hour. But despite the push for more of my cash, the hotel was fine. The room was perfectly suitable. They weren't huge but hey -- I'm not in Brighton to spend my days in a hotel room. You're right across the street from the beach, minutes from great shops, restaurants. IF you do stay here -- be sure to make friends with Iain and Stuart. They're the best!

Good location. Very small single room, but I knew that when booking. Had TV problems; someone came to fix it within 5 minutes - at 10pm in the evening.

I very much enjoyed our stay at umi- room was a nice size and the bed was nice and big too. The reception staff were very polite and they also gave us a free upgrade to a 'sea view' room...however, when we got to our room all you could see was scaffolding and builders peering in the window! A bit of a mood killer for a romantic getaway- wish we had been informed of the maintenance before we booked as it was a surprise for my partners birthday. Despite the maintenance though it was a very nice hotel. The restaurant was very nicely decorated and they also had a bar and a coffee republic in the building. It was right on the seafront and close to the shops so was an ideal location. They have a deal with NCP car park on Russell Road for about 50% discount- probably one of the cheapest parking deals you can get with the seafront hotels. Overall a very nice hotel, shame about the builders!

I stayed here for one night on a work trip. It wasn't the most fantastic room but it was clean, comfortable and very cheap! Breakfast for £5 was also good value.

I was upgraded on my arrival from a single room to a twin room, really nicely appointed. The only problem was that the main lift on my floor, No 5, was broken in the morning, and I had to get my suitcase carried down to the floor where the laundry lift was being used for residents. Otherwise, I was really pleased with the hotel and I would use it again.

We stayed at the Umi hotel for 2 nights in February 2012. The hotel is right on the Brighton seafront, very close to the city centre. The rooms are very nice, but the paint work in the corridors could do with be freshen up. We had a lovely breakfast included in the price. My only real complaint is that we paid £20 to upgrade to a seaview room upon checking in, only to find a massive scaffolding outside our window!

lovely little hotel near all shops and resturants, clean tidy good breakfast and so glad they donate to charity only draw back no parking outside the hotel as its on a main street. but overall l will return and reccommend it.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, its overpriced and doesn't look like the photo's online its more like a hostel. They tried to book as out to their sister hotel as soon as we arrived and we didn't accept this as we were doing the Brighton half marathon and wanted to be near the start of the race. The room was so noisy we didn't get a wink of sleep it was a nightmare. Also I think the bed had bed bugs as I was itchy all night!

Right in the sea front and between the piers so not too far to walk. Late check in was not a problem. For the cost, you cannot complain. The rating I gave is reflective that I rated this hotel higher than other similar hotels I have stayed at that were not ad good. Only negative is that I wish the hotel offered some sort of guidance /discount for overnight parking. I think Brighton had lost the plot in this regard. After 6pm you should be able to park on the streets, yet Here you are forced to find an NCP at excessive cost.

I was a little apprehensive before checking in, having read mixed reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. I had booked a single room at very little cost but was allocated a double room with sea view. The room itself was bright, clean and comfortable. No problems apart from the shower didn't work properly - but there was a bath so used that instead. I had both breakfast and dinner in the quirky opera themed hotel restaurant and both were very nice.

The hotel is in the vicinity of Brighton's main nightclubs so fine if that's the reason for your visit - but don't expect to sleep if you're staying in Brighton for any other reason!

I have stayed at Umi Brighton hotel twice when needing a room at a low price. For a budget hotel Umi is very good value for money taking into accoun the location. The rooms are basic but very clean. The staff are friendly. Breakfast was average but again for the price I can't complain.

The hotel is located in the best position fronting the famous Brighton seashore. Brigton Pier is just a minute walk from hotel and a cinema across the street. It's also close to the Brighton Rail Station as well as the National Express Coach Station at Pool Valley. Although the conditions of the hotel is OK, I would give it a 5-stars at its price.

Love the hotel with its fantastic sea views. This was our 2nd stay and things were very good. However, the guy on reception has an abrupt, put-upon manner that was unnecessary and unwelcoming. he may well have determined that our custom may well go elsewhere on our next visit.

When you book online you are never sure what you will find once you get to your Hotel. This Hotel did everything it offered. Clean, comforable rooms right in the heart of things, and overlooking the sea. The staff were really helpful and pleasant. We had a really good stay at this hotel, and would definitely go again and recommend it to others.

We arrived at UMI Hotel after travelling approx 28 hours from Australia. On our first night at the Hotel we retired to bed at 7.30pm as absolutely exhausted, however due to the location of our room which overlooked a laneway which was used by people attending night clubs nearby, so with the noise of the people screaming and yelling and music from the nightclub no sleep was had until 5am when the clubs shut then at 7am we were woken up by someone pounding on a door beneath our window. I requested a room change however due to the Hotel being fully booked we had to endure another night of no sleep, so we were now heading into over 72 hours with little sleep. We were moved to another room on day 3, this room was more than comfortable and very quiet. The purpose of our visit to Brighton was to see our son who has been working in Brighton for 12 months, so we did not want to spend our days sleeping so we made ourselves get out and about during the day. I think that the room we were given should come with a warning before any money is paid so the customer can decide to go ahead with the booking or book elsewhere. Given the option I certainly would not have booked this Hotel. Breakfast was great, no complaints at all with that.

Comfortable hotel, very clean. Staff were super friendly.

good location friendly staff room clean but claustraphobic no view from window no atmosphere in bar dirty plates and glasses piled in corner of bar area for three nights we were there ????

Great location, on the beachfront and five minutes from shops. However, rooms rather small. Also the airconditioning was set at over 20 degrees and could see no way to turn it down on the remote. Also tv kept stopping, but have to say that reception were up immediately and got it working but unfortunately it cut out again and every few minutes after. The breakfast room was lovely and hot food really good. However, no sign of any fruit which was a bit disappointing. All in all a good hotel - nice decor and nice helpful staff.

Cannot say enough nice things about the staff at this hotel. My mother had a fall our first day & had to be hospitalized. Upon our return to the hotel, the staff went out of their way to look after us-offering us a ground floor room for easier access, arranging food to be delivered to our room from a local restaurant, offering all possible assistance to us. In particular, Liam on the front desk was so very caring, attentive and helpful. He couldn't do enough for us and even turned down a tip (how many people would do that these days?) Our visit to Brighton was ruined by my mother's accident, but from the moment we arrived in Brighton to the moment we left we met nothing but wonderful, caring people who restored our faith in human nature. From the attentive hotel staff, to the wonderful hospital staff, to the taxi drivers, we haven't a bad word to say. Our trip certainly didn't turn out as planned and had to be cut short due to my mother's accident, but the treatment we received was second to none. All this inspite of the fact we are staying at the hotel on a special low-cost rate. Mother and I were both very impressed and, assuming she is well enough to travel again, we are looking forward to staying at the Umi Hotel again next year. Honestly, cannot say enough nice things about the way we were treated, the location, the food and the experience in general. Thank you Umi and thank you Liam! x

I stayed in room 123 single room at back of hotel which is a lovely clean modern room only comment needs doble glazing as at back of hotel are pubs/club with loud music onto late in morning.wifi was not very good in room apart from that Had great stay.

This is a brilliantly located hotel right on the seafront, it backs onto a few nightclubs that run until 3 in the morning. It is cheaper than many but go knowing that if you face the back you will not sleep!

Stayed in room 414 The onlly problem there is a club/pub at back of hotel which plays music til very late in morning very clean room.modern, tried to get drink at 20.40 pm on first night stay very rude night porter Sunday 2/10/11,

Hotel was very near the central area and beach front. Rooms are clean and got wifi. Happy to stay and do recommend for others.

Basic room which is correct for price. Clean and everything in place. Very poor internet access, kept on dropping out. Only 3 poor quality tv channels working. Air-conditioning not working

Pleasant staff and a great location were not enough to offset the neglected state of the room. Filthy windows, rubbish stuffed in the radiator, panel fallen off radiator, peeling paint and wallpaper, loose hand rails and toilet roll holder and taps not attached to sink. Annoying radio and weird decor in the dining room. Must try harder.

DO NOT GET A SINGLE ROOM IN THIS HOTEL. I booked a single room because I was on my own and they looked like a decent size from the pics online and they were a little bit cheaper than a double room. How wrong I was. My room was tiny, bearly big enough to fit a single bed, the Manager told me it used to be an office. I was shocked at the size, by far the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in. I showed the manager the picture of the room on the internet but got no responce. And then I had to put up with a noisy HVAC units outside my window. The ensuite was nice and the room was clean. But they seem to have converted any office/ cupboard/ janitor closet into a single room which shows no class or quality what so ever. The breakfast was average. Stay clear of this hotel. This was the most disappointing hotel I stayed in during my UK trip.

Wasn't impressed that had booked breakfast and this wasn't included. This was made worse when we checked into our room only to find out it was for 2 adults instead of the booked 3.

if you want to go to sleep before 4am then dont sleep here.three nightclubs in surrounding area, one next door.bang, bang, bang. My daughter could'nt sleep and we WOULD NOT COME BACK.They should have told us about the noise, especially when we bring children.

Nice hotel, clean big comfortable rooms. The location is perfect - close to train station, shopping and restaurants. The staff was both friendly and rude but we didn't bother. Breakfast was simple, but ok, just toasts and cereals.

A very nice hotel in a great location, excellent staff and modern clean rooms. My only gripe is the noise from the local night clubs at night, makes sleep alittle more difficult.

The cheapest rooms here are tiny, with barely enough room for more than one suitcase, but they're clean, comfortable and affordable. Good for a stopover, with relatively close access to Brighton coach station for transfer to Heathrow/Gatwick. The neighbourhood is in the middle of Brighton's party scene so it can get very noisy til late, but this is only a concern if you aren't into the nightlife.

It was my birthday and i decided to go to Brighton for it. I picked this hotel for two main reasons, the location and 24 hour reception. UMI provided me with both of these things. The location was amazing, it was right outside the sea front, OCEANA and the cinema, which is what i had come for. So only a short walk across the road. I also went to sea world and the hotel was able to sell me tickets the day before. They say the hotel room was very clean and me and my friend enjoyed the complimentry tea and biscuits. We were quite surprised to see they had more channels than the basic 1-5. In the morning we went and had breakfast where you recieve a full breakfast and 2 drinks, the waiter we had was very kind and allowed us to have another drink. The only problem we had was the shower curtain window thing was kind of broken so water went everywhere, and the hairdryer broke.

My friend and I stayed at this hotel on our first visit to Brighton. We were very happy with it's location as it was walking distance to the water and many shops and restaurants. the room was basic but clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly. The only issue was the parking - they do not have 'on site' parking so after driving around for a while we called and were directed to a parking garage 5-7 minutes walk away that was comparatively affordable - I'd recommend that visitors ask or be told about this parking garage ahead of time.

my wife and i found this hotel to be great value for money , the staff were very friendly, food was good,room was clean and tidy,hotel is in a good location. had a great stay and will be returning to this hotel next year

Not up to scratch at all. Run down looking. Rooms are poor quaility. Very noisy area. Hallways are very noisey at night. Would suit a stag or hen party as it is right beside all the pubs and clubs. Not suited fir relaxing at any stage or if you have a family. Staff were friendly though and it was in close proximity to why I was in Brighton. Would be picking a different hotel the next time I visit Brighton unless i' m there just to go mad for a few nights

Whilst our room in the UMI was not exactly top notch, i think the location more than makes up for this. We even had a sea view. It does, however, mean that it can be quite nosy late at night as it's right by all the local nightlife. Our room was very big but the beds were quite squishy. The hairdryer in the bathroom was pathetic, so bring your own.

Super beliggenhed lige over for stranden. Hjælpsomt personale. Godt blandet udvalg af morgenmad. Pænt og rent værelse, dog lidt småt. Stort badeværelse med kar.
