Overall very satisfied. Staff members are friendly and attentive. Room is comfortable, although the bathroom is a bit dated.

If you like airplanes flying over all day while you try to relax at the pool or private island, stay here! If you like staying in a hotel that literally makes you feel like you are stuck in the 70's and is very worn inside (and I checked multiple rooms) and you want to spend an outrageous nightly rate compared to better places on the island--stay here! Honestly, this hotel is very old and not located near any relaxing areas in Aruba or even on a nice clear beach. Planes constantly fly over. The rooms are aweful--old tubs, dingy carpet, low ceilings and ceiling tiles in bathrooms. And at the rates demanded for at this hotel, you can stay at the Divi Phoenix or other Marriott properties for much less! DO NOT STAY HERE.

Great location! Great staff! Always super friendly and eager to please in any way possible! The bathrooms in the room are due for an upgrade, but are clean and not at all unsanitary! I would stay here again!

First and foremost, we love Aruba and can not wait to return. The Renaissance is a beautiful resort. The location was great with everything right there and it has a very low key atmosphere. Things were usually quiet by 10:00 at night. So that was the time to go next door. The casino is fun and drinks are on the house. Nice touch. Being right downtown you could walk to all the shops. The Renaissance has its own mall, however it is all designer retail stores so not everyone can shop there. One thing I did notice is that many of the people who worked in the market next door seemed tired and uninterested in the people or their job. If I could give the hotel any advice, I would say to bump up the brunch at the outdoor restaurant. If I could give you any advice it would be to make SURE you know where your room is. It is very big with two hotels across the street from each other. We requested an ocean view and they put us in the hotel across the street with only a pool, no balcony, and no view of anything. We did upgrade to the other side but for an additional cost and had a lovely room with a great view.

I arrived into Aruba at 24:04, just afternight and the airport was closed!!!!!!. So Tiara airlines took us over Curacao Island, the local airlines never respect timing, it was delayed for 2 and half hours. They send us to a hotel one hour away from the airport, and obviously, needing to use the aircraft to start the new day, they pick us up at 6:30, after 3 hours sleep!!!!!!! After waiting 2 hours in the following morning, I decided to buy a ticket with another airline to get to Aruba and attend my business meeting. The Renaissance Hotel respected my reservation and I enjoyed the Hotel very much, it is excellent. But, Tiara Airlines and the airport personal coud not care less for the tourists; I wish someone from the government could read these lines and change things around, in their benefit!!!!!!!

We loved this hotel. It had everything there that you needed and was right in downtown. The best part is the private island which you can't get anywhere else in Aruba. The staff is amazing and the service excellent. Would definitely go there again.

Stay was good overall, the only thing i do not like is the condition of the bathroom. They seem to have renovated the hotel rooms to bring them a more modern appeal but the bathrooms were left behind. Mold in the showers is unacceptable in my opinion.

Pros: Private island, friendly/helpful staff, quieter than the busy Palm Beach area, GREAT restaurants close by, close to the airport, lots of great shopping at and around the hotel, nice view/seating around the pool. Cons: Private island is RIGHT beside airport and thus VERY noisy when planes are taking off, is not situated right on the beach, interior looks a little dingy because of the colored skylight at the roof of the hotel - makes everything look a sick green color, rooms are a bit dark and dreary, sink faucet didn't ever put out cold water (only warm), shower faucet water temperature was moody (sometimes was warm, would go cold, get warm again), room was a bit smelly (like stale beach). Overall this hotel was nice and well-kept, the employees were nice, and the private island was neat. I really liked the surrounding area. But I'd probably try a different hotel next time since this one was kind of 'take it or leave it' for me.

We enjoyed our stay - we were in the marina hotel. The pool is kind of like a vegas vibe with music. they're trying a bit too hard there but people seemed to be in to it. The bathroom was a bit junky but the rest of the room was nice. staff was friendly / nice. Overall nice stay

The hotel is in a perfect location with a wonderful pool area overlooking the marina, the cruise dock, and the blue waters of the Caribbean. It is in central Oranjestad in the shopping district and casinos available for those who enjoy that (not me). The hotel has its own private island which is absolutely beautiful and has a family area and adult area. It also has hotel staff working a gift/activity center and a restaurant. On one side of the island, you can sit and enjoy the strong breeze and watch the planes come in and go out of the airport. To get to the island, It is a 10 to 15 minute small boat ride and only hotel guests can visit. Part of the ride is rather choppy on the way but coming back--since you're riding with the waves--it is okay. I am not a boater. But I survived, and even after trying to find a way back other than on the boat the first time, I went back the next day. The room that I was in was okay but the bathroom is too small. And I found two hairs on the sheets on both sides of the bed. Not sure if from the housekeeper or previous guest. I chose to believe the housekeeper since I didn't see any stains or any other disconcerting signs. I still sprayed with lysol before taking my rest. I wasn't sure why the housekeeping did not put the trash liners in the trash cans but that is something they should not expect the guest to do.

Nice and to the point.

The pictures are a bit deceiving. There are 2 different hotels. One which sits on the water (with bigger rooms) is the family hotel while the adult hotel is not on the water with a very small and crowded pool. You are able to go between both hotels and use the facilities at each (there is even a shuttle to usher you back and forth between the hotels.) The private island is pure heaven and quiet. The staff was nice except for the issues that we had to recheck in everyday because of how our reservations were done on hotels.com but they were very nice about the entire situation. The rooms were nice but the bathroom was very small and you could hear what was going on in the bathroom.

Rooms were a little dated, particularly the bathroom and tub, but ok. I had a lot of trouble with the safe and had to call maintenance. The private island was absolutely lovely and the highlight of the stay. Buffet was good.

Overall good. But they really need to spike there drinks. There is hardly any alcohol in cocktails.

this hotel is in a great spot, you can walk to restaurants, bars, shopping. The bus stop is right there and for $2.30 round trip you can go shopping or to eat in the high rise section. Great pool and private island is nice too.

We have stayed at the Marina Renaissance Hotel for 2 consecutive years and enjoy it very much. They have a nice, daily happy hour and a daily boat ride to their private island which is the best! The private island has plenty of beach chairs and 2 separate beaches; 1 for families and 1 for adults. Both are lovely beaches and protected for swimming and snorkeling. In addition, there are many great restaurants within walking distance to the hotel if you do not do the food plan at this hotel.

Hotel is definitely in the best location on the island. Only one other hotel near by and no where near the quality level. Close to airport, shopping, dinning. Price is a bit high compared to other resort style hotels on island. If convenience is high on you priority list then this hotel is ideal. For budget hunters stay up North and rent a car.

The location is very convenient, the private island a quick boat ride from the hotel lobby from 7am-7pm. Rooms are nice and comfortable. Only negative remark is that our shower floor was not clean. Looked like a good abrasive cleaner and some elbow grease were needed. We did not indulge in the all inclusive feature as there are numerous restaurants a very short walking distance. Everything surrounding the hotel is closed on Sunday however (unless a cruise ship is scheduled to arrive that day) Free parking plentiful across street from hotel. Much more pleasant experience than a similar recent stay at the Occidental Resort.

Very nice hotel with awesome pool area off the lobby. Situated downtown and away from the other resorts so the downfall was that you had to take a cab to some of the area restaurants. No complaints about the quality or cleanliness. No problem catching a cab to other areas.

This hotel is right in the center of downtown, you are within walking distance of shops, restaurants, bars. There is a beautiful roof top pool.... but when you just want to sleep on the beach, they have their own private island with 2 beautiful beaches. Great place to stay.

old but nice hotel in downtown. Good location for families with kids. Private island was great! We had all-inclusive package, which i would recommend. Food and drinks are very expensive. Food was excellent. We will come back to this hotel

Excellent hotel and staff...only problem was with the Red Sail Sports on the private island...to charge for non-motorized items (snorkel equipment, etc) was advertised as free, yet there were charges upon arrival. Great food and drinks on the island - prices were good and nominal...

We stayed at the Ocean Suites which is the family side, but because we were there the first week in Sept. there were very few children. The Suites were very nice--large bathroom with double sinks. Granite counter in both bathroom and kitchen area. The linens were extraordinary and the toiletries were Aveda. The food was wonderful--freshly prepared and plentiful. Not lots of cheap, easy to prepare foods that we have found in other all inclusive resorts. Regarding food and drinks--each time you want to close your bill you get a receipt with a service charge on it. That "tip" is split amongst the entire staff so the servers (or bartenders) are only getting 3%. An additional small tip is truly appreciated, although not one of the employees made you feel it was necessary. Also, by having the receipts, we were able to see how much the food and drinks really cost and how much we saved by doing the all-inclusive. Food is very expensive as everything is imported. One of the fun things about the Renaissance is that a harbor is there and you get to see all the private boats and cruise ships. Also, because the water is deep close to the hotel, we were able to watch a naval ship that was so close that we could actually see the sailors do some kind of gun salute that lasted several minutes. The formality of this was awesome. The swimming pools are nice and towels easy to get. The private island was incredible. Food, drinks, nice calm water where a raft can actually be very useful--no fear of floating out into the ocean. Each time we needed something extra, like help with the internet or extra linens, help appeared almost immediately. I read some negative reviews--you would have to be pretty jaded to begin with if you couldn't appreciate this place. We did a lot of shopping as everything is close by and within walking distance. We rented a car one day (about $55 with insurance) and travelled around the island. So glad we did that and got to see where the "regular" people live

Dit hotel is centraal gelegen boven een super mooi shopping centrum. Met een korte taxirit ben je in Palm Beach, Eagle Beach, luchthaven. Met een privé bootje vaar je vanuit het hotel naar twee prachtige privé eilandjes. De mooiste merkwinkels zijn hier ! Droomvakantie voor volwassenen die houden van prachtige stranden en luxe merkartikelen. We komen zeker terug !

hotel muito muito bom excelente,eu recomendo para quem quer realmente curti praias lindas e bom serviço,boa comida e bom preço,as bebidas para nós brasileiros são um pouco salgada,brasileiro que pensar em comprar lá tem que tá com muito ou com boi na sombra que o lugar é lindo mais para comprar não,agora hotel é um luxo muito bonito excelente atendimento,comida boa e um bom preço,agora cuidado com alguns taxi não todos,antes de embarca pergunta ao rapaz do hotel quanto custa,pois os taxis costumam cobrar mais pois o hotel além de ser excelente e bonito eles pensão que todos lá são barão,não alugue carro principalmente no hotel que é muito caro e os lugar lá não são muito longe geralmente as corridas custam 10,11,18 dolares,os passeios eu não fiz,pois a ilha praia do hotel e um espetaculo,mais aconselho irem em palm beach é muito bom,eu com certeza se der eu volto em aruba muito legal e muito bom..........

The only hotel in the city. Very nice hotel with a lot of different services. Boutiques, spa, restaurants, bar, etc etc. The hotel has its own island. DO GO THERE! It's very nice, with free wifi as well. There is not much to do regarding nightlife in this part of Aruba, but for a few nights, or a quiet time with family, Oranjestadt is good. About 15 min with taxi.

La estancia fue agradable, especialmente la vista al mar.

Hotellilla erittäin kiva allasalue, mahtava yksityssaari ja loistava aamiainen.

Hotellet ligger dejligt med udsigt over havnen og lieben på hovedgaden. Et stort plus er det at der der er adgang til en private island. Der sejles fra fra hotellets lounge og tager ca 12 minutter. Indkøbsmukigheder er der mange af i nærheden.

Et hotell som absolutt er å anbefale!

I was traveling in business and had a late flight departured and of that reason requested hotel personel for late check out. Late check out was confirmed by hotel staff and I could stay on the room until 14.45. When I returend to hotel 12.10 for a shower and rest I had been kicked out of the room without any information. When asking in reseption it was only a lot of hablahabla........... I was going to be picked up 15.30 by my driver and had to spent 3 hours waiting in the heat. My flight home, swet and smelling was not a pleasure. SO NO MORE RENAISSANCE HOTEL

Geweldig; mooie lokatie, vriendelijke mensen, mooi weer, lekkere restaurants, ontspannen sfeer, redelijk betaalbaar. kortom dik tevreden!!
