The room is very charming and could be great but they need to take care of MINOR maintenance issues. For example the door handle to the room kept falling off, the shower handle and most of the drawer handles were loose so they would come off. The shower leaked just needs a bit of caulk. All of these are minor but annoying! They take care of them and it would be a nice place to stay.

Not at all what was advertised- hardly qualifies for 2 star hotel much less 4 star

Room not as described in pictures and definitively not up to the 4 star qualification . Seemed like a health hazard, with moisture damages on walls and roof. After some discussion, I was kindly offered a replacement room from a nearby hotel owned by the same company. Service in this matter was excellent, but even the replacement room was poor in condition and cleanliness. To my understanding part of the rooms are of better condition, but sold at a higher price. Make sure you get one of the good rooms, if those exist.

This was my first stay at the Tophams Hotel and I was pleasantly surprised as it was very reasonably priced, well maintained and really close to the Victoria station which made getting around super easy. Staff were friendly and compared with similarly priced hotels in the same area the room was very well maintained. Definitely money well spent!

We had a twin room for just under £100, which included a full English breakfast. Great value for money and excellent location to Victoria station (2 minute walk). Definatley stay again if I can get for the same price

The problem with this hotel is lack of management and poor customer service. I had a problem with the reservation and made 2 phone calls to the hotel and was told I had to be helped by the manager during the day. Once I got to the hotel I again told them about the reservation problem and they stated they could not help me but a manager would address the issue in 72 hours. We were there 4 days and never saw a manager. Finally I had great difficultly printing my boarding passes due to the fact the printer was broken in the lobby area. It took 3 hours and multiple trips to the front desk, which seems out of place in a “4 star” hotel catering to international business travelers, to get the boarding passes printed. If you do not expect any services from the front desk the rooms were clean and hotel within easy walking distance of Victoria Coach Station.

Tophams is always a pleasure to stay. The reception staff are incredibly helpful and full of suggestions whilst the place has been gradually transformed from qyite a homely hotel to really quite a Grand Townhouse Boutique stay without losing the friendly cosiness of before. I would strongly recomend it.

The location is great: near Victoria but in a quiet neighborhood. Very tidy, with a good breakfast.

I was only spending one day/night in London, on my dime, was looking for someplace centrally located, and only planned on needing a bed. If this meets your requirements, I would suggest staying here. If you are looking for a luxurious place with places to eat and drink, I would suggest you look elsewhere. My room was the size of an American half bathroom and consisted of a bed (a very comfy bed), a small nightstand and a TV (with no remote). I shared a bathroom downthe hall with the room across from me. The best part, aside from tue comfy bed, was it's location. I was a very short walk away from Victoria station and only a few blocks fr Buckingham Palace. I was easily able to take the tube to Victoria Station, with only one transfer, walk to the hotel, chck in early, and take in the sights. It was also located on a quiet street and there were no outside noises that could be heard, although the paperthin walls allowed me to hear the action down the hall. Overall, it was 'fine' but nothing great.

Great neighborhood for walking or jogging & a two minute walk to Victoria Station & tube. Hotel is nicely decorated but rooms & common areas are tiny. Breakfast is NOT WORTH THE PRICE. There is a restaurant on the corner with better food for a fraction of the price.

Stay here it is a great location and service be sure to book breakfast in advance. They even held our bags for a late flight.

I have been back to Tophams Hotel several times because it is perfect for Victoria Station and my meetings in the area. The rooms are very comfortable and the prices reasonable.

An unpleasant experience! Though the hotel has a very good location for those of us who arrive late at Victoria station, the stay was far from pleasant. I was placed in a worn down room were the tiles in the very tiny bathroom were loose and the moisture was gathering below them. Had too change my socks after being stupid enough to go inside the bathroom without removing them first. The room was old, worn down, gloomy but quiet. I´ll spend some more money next time and get me a decent room that does not spoil my stay.

Very nice, watch out for loud door closers with the neighboring guests...at least on the 4th floor. Very convenient to Victoria station...pub nearby, coffee shop near by.

A nice hotel with very good location and in avery quiet street.

Hotel has charm, character but also maintained an up to date look. Staff was very helpful and kind. Enjoyed my stay. Only concerns was a little behind on maintenance. While the stairs were carpeted and clean, one of the steps was definitely in need of repair. Also, Room appeared clean, new and nicely decorated ... but there was an area on one wall that showed water damage and peeling paint. Fix these two issues and it was really nice place to stay.

Lovely hotel within 5 minutes walk of Victoria station. Excellent value for money for Belgraviia at the price I paid. Quiet street, which can be a problem if you are on the main roads around Victoria, I didn't try the restaurant. Would use again next time I am in London.

The receptionist insisted on putting me in their "sister" hotel next door. I followed a bell hop to the next building and went down a flight of stairs to my room, except the bell hop couldn't open the door because the hallway light wasn't working and she couldn't see where to insert the key. I had to turn on my cell phone to give her enough light to open the bloody thing! The toilet and shower were in separate spaces in the room barely a door length apart. There was no soap in the toilet room. The room was freezing and the portable heater beside the bed made my lower back warm while my feet froze. It's by Victoria Station and Buckingham Palace, which is convenient. But there's no way I would stay in this dump again.

Excellent location in quiet street, 5 minutes walk from Victoria station. My room was pleasantly decorated in modern style and as I was travelling alone I was delighted to get a decent sized double room. Staff were very charming and helpful. Hope the tap on the wash basin will be sorted out (it's loose) but apart from that this place has everything to commend it. Much better than I expected for the price in London. I'd definitely stay again. Many thanks

The hotel is situated within 3 minutes walk of Victoria Station so is ideal for anyone arriving by train from Gatwick airport. In addition, it is thus superbly located for anyone wishing to take advantage of the attractions of west and central London. Easy access to the Underground network at Victoria as well. The only criticism is that the room we were allotted was a little small, with an "en-suite" bathroom down a set of stairs ,which might have been awkward for some guests. But our experience overall was good and we shall certainly be recommending friends and family to stay.

The hotel was cute, decor was modern. Mattress was definitely worn down and breakfast is way overpriced. But considering what you pay for the place it's worth it. 2 blocks from Victoria station so it was super easy to get around town. I'd stay here again.

I booked a room in this boutique hotel under a special offer at over 33% off, but it was still a relatively pricey room for a Thursday night in London. When I arrived, I was shown to a room, not in Tophams, but in another hotel 5 doors down the street. I objected to this but needed to be in a meeting so had to resort to calling them by phone to register my complaint. On the second call, I was told that my luggage would be moved to another room in the main hotel. I duly returned to the hotel at midnight after the theatre to be told that the room in the hotel wasn't en suite (and you couldn't actually walk around the bed as the room was so small) so they hadn't moved me. At midnight, there wasn't a lot to be done, so I stayed in the room. The following morning, I got up to find no running water in the bathroom and a non-working telephone. I complained bitterly at Reception but there was nobody there able to respond. I have since emailed 4 times and tried to speak to the manager 4 times to demand a full refund for such an abominable level of customer service. I have also complained to this website and haven't heard back either. I shall not be using either service again.

Upon checking in to Topham's hotel, I was taken to a room in another building which was undergoing renovations. I was shown to a tiny room, which wasn't a problem for me. The main light did not work, and the toilet did not flush. I asked to be moved to another room. They did offer to send me to a sister hotel, however I had booked the hotel due to the location and further travel plans, so it wasn't my first choice. The second room seemed allright. There was no kettle, no rack to hang clothing on, and no remote for the television. In the morning, I also found out the shower did not work. There was a pipe hooked up to the sink, but no way to turn it from sink to shower. The cold water made it out of the showerhead, but the hot water came out of the wall. Not into the shower, not into the sink, even! I went to reception to find a place to shower and they reluctantly let me use a room in the main hotel. This room was very nice (although still didn't have a kettle!) Overall, the room was not good, the service was not good. Oh and someone was locked in their room in the morning and needed assistance to get out. The price I paid was more than what I paid at a hotel in London for New Year's Eve. I should have stayed there!

The Topham hotel is located near the bus stop where all the tour buses stop (which I did) and several great restaurants. You can walk to several of the sights from here too such as Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey. The hotel service was so-so. I had to bring my own luggage up to the room since they had no one to help me. The room was set on 2 floors - the bed on one, stairs downstairs to the bathroom with a very tiny closet in between. I prefer if the bathroom was on the same floor as the bed and I kept my suitcase upstairs as the area where the closet was located was too narrow. It was reasonably clean with a comfortable bed and a nice flat screen tv with several channels available. Free wi-fi that worked well. Nice place to stay for a few nights.

The location of Topham's can't be beat - you can walk to the train station, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, etc. Check-in was efficient. Rooms were on the "basement" level. Decor was up-to-date, beds were very, very soft but fine for the one night we stayed; I found a large bug (dead) on my pillow. Bathroom was multi-level but updated and very large. I would probably return to Topham's for an overnight stopover in London; if I were staying longer than one night I would not.

we booked to stay in the hotel which looked lovely on the web site and when we booked in , the reception was all that was expected. However we were put in the dingiest room imaginable six doors down the road in another house! It was totally unacceptable. a complaint has been e mailed to the manager but as of yet,, 3 weeks later, we have not had a reply!!!!!!

On arrival the staff wete unhelpful and made ou feel uncomfortsble. The shower water temp was uncontrolled, the roof was falling to bits, plaster was missing from the wall, there was no soap, only one coffee cup and worst of all the bed was sunken, you could feel the springs and gave us back ache. And we paid extra for the delux room!

Only negative aspect were the fire alarms going off whenever someone in another room smoked a cigarette. Otherwise, the hotel was perfect.

A very pleasant experience

Very convenient location for the West End

Only stay in this hotel if your room is in the main hotel - I was given a room in a buliding down the street - it was small, dirty, smelt (very badly) and the shower did not work - this hotel is not worthy of its 4 stars - I will never stay again and would not recomend to others.

very good location, quite quiet at night , no noise probably because my room was facing the back road. The decoration in the room & lounge are very nice & comfort. Definitely will go back again for my next stay in London.

You can't fault the location- 3 minutes from Victoria, and theatres. Lobby is immaculate. My single room, however, was a bit shabby: carpet stained, big chips out of the bureau and vanity. and a HUGE stain on the wall. Other than that- bed was super comfy, people were nice. I'd stay again.

I ordered a twin room, but got 2 single room. Both room was a death trap. I can say this as we both are electicians. In my room the only lamp working was a small one on the night stand. The bed bottoms in both rooms was completely broken. I had to complain two times to get new rooms, but they only had one to offer. The new room was in a dark cellar and the room was painted in dark brown color. Most of the electric system was broken an hazardious here to. Horrible stay, and I will for sure never return. By the way. Our rooms was not in the main hotel. The part we lived in reminded me most of all of a bordel.

The location of the hotel is really great. Rooms are small, but clean. The staff is delightful. The only thing which disappointed me was breakfast.

Top hams Hotel was very well located for visiting all the usual tourist sights. The room was clean and nice contemporary decor. Breakfast overly expensive;eat elsewhere. Staff were not very friendly and we felt like we were imposing on them when we asked questions. They were cold and formal. Even so, the location,decor, cleanliness and price makes it a good choice.

Great little hotel with the surrounding area providing a feel of the 'luxurious life". Efficient and friendly, well decorated with a sense of fun, clean and near excellent places to eat.

I believe the only positive to this hotel is that it is near Victoria station.We stayed 15-17/10/11 x 2 nights Condescending attitude from ladies on check in as they openly checked out my attire should have been a warning sign! I had to ring down for a second mug and hangers for clothing and was offered 2 hangers(party of two) The hotel bar as advertised is wrong -is nota bar as it only serves non alcoholic drinks.Sat night the lift was out of order.The bathroom was not checked by staff pre our arrival..Sun morning , shower head was on a tray and cracks noticed in shower tray! We gota room change -after moving on our 2 nd day, it materialised a pair of shoes had gone missing. On check out,we asked the staff to check our previous room..and to ask housekeeping..No sign anywhere..My partner went with two pairs of shoes and came home with one.. DO NOT STAY HERE

If it seems to be good to be true, it normally is. This was certainly the case for Tophams. I needed a bed for the night in London while down for work. Didn't want to pay too much. Did a search and found Tophams at a very reasonable price. The address says 24-32. I was therefore shocked to find I was in number 50, some 50 yards down the street. My room was small (as expected). The wardrobe was a flatpack that had not been put together well and the bathroom was an integrated plastic all in one untit that had been fitted in the room. Whilst it could have been called functional, at 6ft 2ins, it was impossible to shave have a comfortable shower without being bent double. I was not impressed by the hotel nor the response I got from staf when explaining this. I should have seen it coming with the great price I suppose. Next time, I wil pay more and hopefully get a decent room and service.

The hotel decor was lovely and our room very nice. After a night out, we came back to the hotel bar to have a drink,all there was on offer , was a cheap wine and a beer .. The curtain in our room did not close properly so a pool of light was coming in, we found a sticky tape on the curtain, obviously the previous guest had tried also .. The chandelier on the ceiling made noise each time the person above moved and so when that person got up at 630, all we could hear was the chandelier and the person steps!! Not a great start on a sunday morning! I also thought that cleaning the rooms could start a little later on a sunday morning, not at 8. Breakfast time. We were not booked in to have breakfast although we did ask for it when we checked in so there was confusion and that happened with 2 other couples, I had continental which was fine but my partner had English; the sausages were as hard as concrete, mushrooms were cold, there was no bacon. At £14.95 my partner was not having it. He took his plate and went to reception to complain. It is a shame as the location is fantastic and the hotel looks lovely but I was completely exhausted and disapointed. I'd rather go to Travelodge where the hotel has no character whatsoever but last time I was there, I slept like a log! So it is noway to Tophams hotel.
