After reading some unfavorable reviews on the Martha's Vineyard Resort, we were pleasantly surprised to find a small, well run B&B. Our room was large, clean and the bath had soft, cuddly towels. Though situated on the main road into Oak Bluffs, it was very quiet. The garden is well maintained. Claudette, the owner/manager was a jewel and provided answers to all of our questions. The Continental Breakfast served in the Main Gathering Room was just what we needed to get us started on our busy days exploring the island. What a great weekend!!

I thought the stay was wonderful Claudett was wonderful. Very warm and helpful.

We stayed in one of the none-attached cottages and found the room to be below three star quality. From the small vanity shelves, to the rust around the shower curtain holder, and the entrance door handle falling off, the room was a bit worn. The staff was nice and the room clean, just not up to the quality of a three star resort.

I had read some of the reviews from past guests and found many quite off. Ms. Claudette is an extremely kindhearted individual with a charming B&B - close to many MV locations. I was given plenty of suggestions for transportation, dining options and shopping considerations. I will be returning to Ms. Claudette's B&B soon and she is a large reason why I have chosen her location. The breakfast was fine offering the same variety one might find at a Courtyard and the room was comfortable too. The pool table and chess board - and oh yes, the tennis court... a bonus! MV is a older bedroom community that allows people to slow down from their crazy ways of living. Those looking for the Ritz Carlton... go to a larger city!

Not really a B&B. Just a basic hotel. Clean but spartan. Furniture tired and old. About a 15 minute walk to downtown Oak Bluffs. Claudette was very nice and friendly.

This resort is well hidden. We drove by it several times before we noticed a 2 inch by 5 inch sign posted in the shade giving the name of the resort. For newcomers to the island, we were dismayed. Also, the walkway into the resort itself is not well lit. And there are a couple of slight step-ups that could cause difficulty if you were not aware of them. I know that this would not pass the handicap laws.

Lovely place to stay, wonderful breakfast, but a little far to walk into Oak Bluffs. The bus comes right outside the door making it nice if you don't have a car. We enjoyed the gardens.

This is a lovely place to get away to. Our accommodations were comfortable and heart warming. This was my impression of a lovely "bed and breakfast" setting. Looking forward to staying at this resort again.

So me and my bf go to MV every yr for my bday and this was the first time we stayed in this resort and we had the worst experience ever with Claudette, the owner and the only one we ever saw there. She was very rude and just wanted to argue with us over nothing. She was soooo mean and i would never want to stay there again just because of her. She gave my bf attitude about asking if the ferrys were not running the day after the hurricane than could we just stay tues-thurs instead of mon- wed and she stated well its not my problem! it was very rude and unprofessional. We will NEVER stay with her again. Luckily the ferrys were running so we got to go on our scheduled day.

I would definitely stay here again. Claudette the host is the the best!!!

We loved this place--more of a Bed & Breakfast than a resort, with an on-site owner who was very friendly and helpful. We were a 20-minute walk from the shops in Oak Bluffs, or you could hop on the bus right outside the door. It was quiet, restful, clean, and private.

We had a wonderful stay at the Marthas Vineyard Resort over the 4th of July holiday. The inn keeper, Claudette (a most interesting person), has clearly put her heart and soul into the place and it shows. Everything inside and out-- the grounds and gardens are as charming as the hotel itself--is well maintained. We stayed in the smallest of the resort's several rooms (which is small indeed, but quite lovely and immaculately clean, with a very comfortable bed and a great shower) and found it quite suitable to our needs. A very good continental breakfast is served gratis in an attractive room below the main lobby. You can take your coffee up to the back porch facing the tennis courts, or to the wrap around front/side porch facing the gardens. There are also charming indoor and outdoor places to sit on the second floor where the rooms are (you need to be able to climb stairs). We didn't bring our car, but there is convenient free parking if you don't, while the frequent bus service is very cheap and easy to use, and you can catch it (the #13) in front of the hotel to go to Vineyard Haven, or across the street to go to Oaks Bluff central or, continuing, to Edgartown. It is also just a 12-15 minute stroll into Oaks Bluff if you're in the walking mood. This hotel (not quite a full-fledged resort, but, as noted, there are clay tennis courts) is also a great deal for the island. There aren't any shops or restaurants in the immediate neighborhood, but you'll find some very pleasant wooded streets to explore behind the hotel including the historic Highlands neighborhood. All in all, I would very highly recommend this hotel.

The room was very nice and very clean. Huge, comfortable bed and sufficient bathroom - shower was a bit small. The place did not have too much atmosphere (although we were there out of season). The main level was very sparse. The continental breakfast was sufficient - yogurt, cereal, muffins, fruit, etc. The owner was very nice, lives in a house on the same property so was not always around. I guess one could go and knock on her door any time. It was a bit difficult to find as the name out front says Racquet Club (which apparently it once was). The location is very central to everything.

Room extremely small. Not even a chair in the room. Right off the street so traffic noise. Continental breakfast was bare bones and no one around to ask for anything such as hot water for tea that was out. Communication from innkeeper was non existent.

Voor Martha's Vineyard redelijk nette prijzen. Prima ontbijt. Nette kamer. Verwacht niet te veel luxe of een erg mooi aangekleed hotel, maar het geheel is wel netjes en het personeel vriendelijk. Al met al een prima uitgangsbasis voor een verkenning van ' the Vineyard'
