The management is very professional and welcoming. The rooms supply all your needs, fridge, aircon, microwave, plasma t.v. Updated bathroom. Could use better lighting in bathroom for mirror. Pool kept nice and clean. My room was on the ground floor near the office and the maintenance closet so it was a little noisy but overall it is quiet. Is a short walk to the boardwalk. We never used our car. This was the second time we were there. It's like a Hyundai. You can't beat the price for what you get.

Unfortunately, the inexpensive rooms draw a very trashy clientele... clean room, comfortable, definitely not luxurious, great service team... fairly close to boardwalk (5 minute walk), surrounding neighborhood is middle class and other motel. I felt very safe walking at night. The only fear I had was from the other occupants.... loud, drunk, trashy, partying in the parking lot, obviously did not know how to act in social situations or interact with others on a civil basis, stomping around upstairs (multiple clientele), talking loudly in parking lot late at night and early in morning right outside my window. Management kicked one crew out overhead when I complained, but the next bunch was just as bad. Hey, it's a cheap motel... I knew that when I rented, but I was staying a week so the $big bucks motel was out of budget. So, I recommend, but use earplugs and earphones and patience... towels are thin, needed two per shower. Tiny soap but no shampoo or conditioner. Plastic drinking cups. Good ice... Good microwave but poor mini-fridge (my ice cream melted). No view worth beans. Tiny parking lot...

3 block walk to the boardwalk... Nice hotel for the price. Would stay there again!

Even though it seems like a half hotel half apartment it was cool....the boardwalk is right there...parking is a mess....my towel had a hole in it.....

The bathrooms were nicely updated with large new shower and tile floors. Very convenient to the Beach and Boardwalk. It was less than a 10 minute walk. Fresh muffins for breakfast and hot beverages. We all enjoyed it and will choose this one again.

I give it good marks -- for the price. This is a low-cost option very close to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk (in the sometimes warm California sun). It worked just fine for my one-night stay before running the SC Half Marathon this year. The place and its furnishings are pretty old and nothing special. But everything was clean enough, and the WiFi was very good. The bed was pretty comfortable, and the shower was nice and strong. Also, the guy working the desk was really cool and nice. Some complaints: small TV, early check-out time of 11am and short continental breakfast window of 8-10am. The nearby Comfort Inn has nicer rooms if you want a step up.

Room was nice. Loved the fact that the showerhead was high enough that I could stand underneath it without bending. Walking distance to the boardwalk. Hotel was accomadating to the fact that I was part of the event that was taking place that weekend and it was nice to see

Needed a place to stay for a night while on a trip to Santa Cruz from SF see a show at the Catalyst. Having stayed at the paradise by the sea or whatever that other motel by the boardwalk is called on a previous trip, this place was a dream. Spacious room with no cigarette burns in the sheets, clean, with a microwave and fridge (this is key for a cheap trip). Will definitely come stay here again for another time, for the money and accommodations it's a winner.

great hotel, the management team is very helpful. the location was perfect for the price and the room was very comfortable. we will go there again ! ( acually I think we're going there in june !)

we stayed here the night before our wedding to get ready in and it had enough space was very clean, very nice shower...looks nothing like the picture though, th ae pictures are old i think, its much nicer than what it shows.

Ok, so it was SUPER cheap, but a space heater in that has to be left on all the time? It took 36 hours of constantly having this space heater on for me to be able to take my jacket off. No Coffee Pot in room. Coffee in lobby out of order. Would've taken a bubble bath but didn't trust the cleanliness of tub.

The manager was very helpful for our late check in, and helping us find parking in the somewhat tight lot. The hotel is an older building, but very well maintained, and our room was large and spotless. Plenty of water pressure and hot water, very quiet room, a great value for the price. No hair dryers or shampoo, so plan accordingly.

Great owners from an Indian background- wow, i felt at home. They even offered me chai!!! As for the room, I was surprised by the size and cleanliness, big TV with cable. Great power shower. What else can you ask for.

Great bargain for price. I will stay here again.

I like this motel because I can park the car and walk around the boardwalk with no worries about parking tickets. The rooms are comfy, the people are nice and the location is just right.

This motel had everything we needed quick check in fridge microwave clean and confortable and most of all honest I left a valuable pice of jewelery and it was there in the office when I returned. I will stay there again

This is a reasonably priced hotel that is comfortable and convenient. Front desk staff was friendly and we had no problems with parking or anything else. I have already recommended this hotel to friends.

Very nice staff, helpful with explaining the area. They didn't mention that at this time of year (late November) the boardwalk is pretty much closed, especially after dark. But the Wharf is a short walk away. No amenities in room like shampoo, coffee maker, hair dryer but did have a safe, microwave and refrigerator.

I do not recommend this motel to anyone. I did not have the same experience that other reviewers left. That is the only reason I stayed here was based on good reviews. This was a very very noisy motel. Construction at the motel and workers staying in adjoining rooms with their rotweiler dogs on rope/leashes outside your door. Walls are very very thin and you can hear all activity in adjoining rooms Management on duty was very rude. The room itself was clean and location to boardwalk was convenient. I would not return to this motel.

I am not a picky person, but I don't like to stay in dives either and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the Knights Inn after reading the reviews. The pictures don't do it justice as far as I'm concerned. Here's my take on it. 1. Location was great! About 2 blocks from the Boardwalk. 2. Room-we had a room with two double beds. We got room 111 which just had been freshly painted. There was actually two separate bedroom which was very nice. There was a microwave, fridge and safe. Just wish they had a coffee maker in the room-we brought our own. 3. Breakfast-Mainly cut up Costco muffins, two kinds of cereal, milk, orange juice, coffee. 4. Cleanliness-room was very clean. No problems. 5. Staff-Very helpful and even let us park in the parking lot for free even though we couldn't check in yet. I would definitely stay here again.

I like old large rooms. I like to walk around when I travel. Worked for me. Needs new flat screens though. WIFI signal is super strong. I will return.

Great place to stay if you're going to the Boardwalk. Nothing fancy, just the basics.

Our stay at the Knights Inn was much better than we expected. The management was very cordial and the accomodations were worth the price we paid. Best of all was we were really within a block and one half from the Boardwalk. For the price it couldn't hardly have been better,unless they served coffee at 6:00 am instead of 8:00 am.

The owners are extremely nice..it's not the most comfortable bed but the location is good..right by SantaCruz Boardwalk

There was a distinct lack of parking, and the towel were more akin to sandpaper than towels (in both size and texture). Basically, it was a bed and a shower, and not even great at that.

Staff was friendly. Rooms are older but parts are updated. Great location for walking to the boardwalk. Price is good for Sun-Thur, but way too high for Fri and Sat. Kids enjoyed the pool. It served the purpose for our stay and I would stay there again, dont expect much for breakfast

Very friendly and helpful staff. Our kids loved the pool and the location was just minutes from the boardwalk. We will visit again

Spent one night in Santa Cruz. The hotel was located in walking distance to the board walk. The staff was professional. Beds were not too comfortable, but for the price and location it was perfect for a short, cheap stay.

The owners of this "inn" try and rip you off! There is no parking either and if you came in two cars you have to pay an extra $25 to park the second car..

It is right near the board walk.within walking distance.was very pleased

Great location only about 2 blocks from the boardwalk. The rooms are clean and the employees are very friendly. I would give this place a 1 except there needs to be some work done in the bathroom. It's exceptionally clean but a tile is missing and there is a small area where the paint is peeling.

Don't believe the terrible reviews. This place is just fine for the price. If you just need a place to crash for a few nights, it's more than adequate. If you're expecting the Ritz, expect to pay more elsewhere.

This was our second stay and we were looking forward to it... Shocked to say the least: Conditions The bed was all springs with a blanket worth of padding. Really the worst hotel/motel bed ever. The Bathroom, large, stunk up the entire room with a mold smell so we had to keep it closed for most of the stay. The shower was upstairs and usually pressure would be kinda low, but somehow, they managed to have the pressure of a fire hose, which cannot be lowered so is very painful. Each stream of water out of the shower head had an extremely high pressure like a water jet cutting tool. The gas heater in the room was broken, they had another portable heater in the room, and that fell apart in my hands. Oh.. the paint was peeling all through the bathroom, and had large mold stains. The tile floors in the bathrooms also needed a steam cleaning- tacky and darkened with grime, probably adding to the smell. Money Stuff To check in, they force a "tax" of $2/day that they had to charge on sight, and apparently wasn't included in the taxes and price paid from hotels.com. Aren't we here (using hotels.com) to have it all pre-paid? (minus incidentals & room-service) Overall A big disappointment from our last stay there a few years ago. I'd be hard pressed to stay here again. Overpriced, Uncomfortable, Moldy
