I loved the hotel! The place is just very nice and relaxing. The staff is very nice and friendly. It is a great place to get away and just relax. The lake and scenery are amazing. And the price is very good.

This hotel is located in the middle of Lake Gatun, take a tour and see the howler monkees, the sloth and the capuchinos monkees. The hotel is a little bit abandonated. But its very cheap and I think its a good option of you want to visit the free zone of Colon (the hotel has its own transportation) and if you wish to enjoy the nature of Panama. At night a band performs live music, very nice.

I was driven to the hotel from Panama City and there are no road sighs on the Highway to indicate where the Hotel was ! Yet when returning from a trip to Portobello I noticed road signs advertising the Hotel and Casino. The Hotel Building is a wonderful structure, but it needs massive amounts of maintenance. 1. when you walk into the foyer there is a musky odor. 2. there is no wi-fi 3. some air conditioning vents were dripping condensation on to the carpet 4. Lights were not working, either by blown bulbs or faulty wiring. 5. The dining area fills with smoke and it is difficult to breath and not conducive to good dining. 6. In my room the hand rail in the bath was loose and needs repairing. 7. stairwells are smelly and poorly lit. 8. I was charged at full day rate . The staff I dealt with were mostly very helpful, but there were a few who were just filling in time. The hotels and grounds look magnificent on the photos.

This beautiful hotel (former School of the Americas) is located in front of Lake Gatun in the middle of the jungle, it used to be the best hotel in Colon, regrettably it is a mess now. I found it very unkempt. However it is still a good option if you are visiting zona libre, they take you there for free. The food is OK and the live music played at nights is also fine. Tours to Portobelo and Isla Grande are also available.

The hotel itself is fantastic. over all service is good, but a bit slow at pool side. The grounds and the view of the lake are incredible. It is a great place to relax and leave the world behind. A bit off the beaten track. Somewhat difficult to fnd, signs are small or non existant. great place to stay if you are going to San Lorenzo and the Gatun Locks. Over all very nice.

The wife and I decided to stay in the Melia for a quick close-to-home holiday. These are the good things you can expect: Food - Great (buffet breakfast, dinner, and good waitstaff) Pool and Grounds - Excellent for relaxation (read a book, take a swim, enjoy a beverage, sleep ... whatever it's all good) Beds - King size (always good) These are the bad things: Front desk service - Needs improvement (evening crew really need to be trained on proper customer service) Air-conditioning - Room is too warm (pre-programmed, you can't change it. If you are uncomfortable ... too bad!) Pillows - They weren't pillows! (these things were so thin, I had to check if they were even there) Towels - There were no towels, we had to ask the cleaning staff for some. As you can see all of these things are fixable. When they are fixed I will recommend this hotel to my friends. As for right now, this place is really good for a days-outing (come for breakfast, swim in the pool, relax on the beach chairs, have lunch and/or dinner and head home or another hotel). Management needs to pay attention to what people write on these things. Word-of-mouth and the internet is too powerful to ignore!!

As usual this hotel is terrific, well situated on the lake Gatun, tour boat available, and not that expensive...I'll say this hotel is the best situated in Colon, the only thing missing in this hotel is ... customers, guest.....

I have stayed at this hotel quite a few times over the last few years, and except for the last stay in July 2010, when the air-conditioning did not work all evening and all night, my stay has been very pleasant. The hotel location is very isolated from the city of Colon and set in very quiet, picturesque and beautiful surroundings. The bar and restaurant are very pleasant and usually have nice live music which helps you to relax whilst enjoying a drink or a sumptuous dinner buffet. The breakfast buffet is also very good and starts early (6:00 AM). A large swimming pool and outdoor seating area offer a good spot for relaxing. All in all, the hotel provides a good comfortable and pleasant stay for a reasonable price.

This was my second stay at this hotel. The hotel is very nice and the staff are helpful and friendly.

This Hotel does not meet its rating.The hotel appears to be deteriorating and not being maintained. There is a constant smell of pesticide all over the hotel and especially in the rooms that makes it difficult to breathe

la pase bien con mi esposa.aunque tiene ciertos detalles que componer 1 no hay discoteca 2 los pisos deben pulirlos por que estan manchados 3 deben hacer ciertas remodelaciones como ,cambios de baldosas partidas o desgastadas 4 hay humedad en el restaurant.5 deberian tener alguien para animar en la piccina, bailes......juegos............ .por que la gente sale a disfrutar.y no a meterse en la piccina y a la habitacion.. todo el dia y la noche..pero en general .la atencion de los empleados es buena y la comida es aceptable.y se duerme sin ruidos.

Bueno con respecto al hotel es muy bueno lo unico que deberrian controlar los servicios como por ejemplo no dejan papel en los baños , se solicit a tuallas y no las llevan en lo demas es muy bueno

EL HOTEL ES MUY COSTOSO, Y LA ATENCION NO ES COHERENTE A LOS PRECIOS. LA COMIDA ES DEMACIADO CARA ASI COMO EL TRANSPORTE

Magnifico hotel para relajarse y disfrutar de los hermosos paisajes naturales, estrategicamente ubicado al lado de las esclusas de Gatun. Los servicios son en general de muy buena calidad especialmente el variado desayuno, excepto que despues de las 23 hrs, no hay comida o bebida disponible, las habitaciones carecen de frigobar y la coneccion de Internet es intermitente y en algunas habitaciones directamente no existe. El personal se esfuerza mucho pero considero que es una propiedad que requiere mucho mantenimiento y deberia tener mas empleados. De cualquier manera, es un hotel muy recomendable particularmente en una zona donde no hay mucha variedad de propiedades que reune estas caracteristicas especiales.

Lo recomendaria, haciendole saber los pro y los contra del mismo, por ejemplo, lejos de todo centro comercial, el personal de recepción cumple órdenes y no se mueve de ellas ( oscuridad en los pasillos, NO dejan ingresar a la habitación antes de las 15 hs. A PESAR DE TENER LA HABITACIÓN DISPONIBLE, PERO ACLARO, CONMIGO HICIERON UNA EXCEPCIÓN SEGUN ME DIJEROS Y ME LA ENTEGARON ANTES), le falta mantenimiento en general, el edificio es hermoso y digno de ver.- Si se desea pasar vacaciones relajantes sin moverse del mismo es ideal.

O Hotel Melia de Colon, no Panama, naõ é bem gerenciado. É uma pena ter-se uma instalação magnifica e bem localizada num ambiente lindo, ter serviços de má quilidade. O preço é baixo o que copnvida a hospedagem lá mas fica claro a má qualidade da gerencia do hotel

El prob es que esta muy mal cuidado,sucio con olor a cloaca,muy sucio,muy caro y malo su restaurant- Ni lejos un cinco estrellas, tal es asi que mepague x 3dias y me retire un dia antes

Sehr schöne lage direkt am Gatunsee, os dass sogar Kreuzfahrschiffe ihre Gäste für einige Stunden hierherbringen. Das Hotel selbst war mal top, aber die Wartung ist miserabel, wie auch das Management. Pool und Ausssenanlagen, Liegen werden Stiefmütterlich behandelt, Casino war mal... Inkompetentes Management, Frühstück nach Auskunft Reception ab 7 Uhr, laut Aushang 6Uhr 30, tatsächlich schon vor 6 Uhr. Gepäck deponieren über einige Tage geht mit Empfangsbestätigung, jedoch weiß nur einer von 5 Receptionisten Bescheid. Anfahrt durch trostlose Überreste der US Siedlungen, die seit deren Abzug 2000 zerfallen. Trotzdem insgesamt das Schönste in der Gegend um Colón!

Sim a arquitetura é muito bonita, foje totalmente do padrão Meliá, entretanto os serviços são ruins, recepcionistas que só falam lingua nativa (espanhol) não arriscam sequer um portanhol, pouca limpeza, nos wcs juntas de azulejos encardidos e sem locais onde se possa pendurar toalhas e papel higienico, cortinas sujas, detalhes da decoração e portas empoeiradas, serviço de bar limitadíssimo e sem cardápio simplesmente não existe serviços nas piscinas. Fui em alta temporada mas o hotel aparentemente está tranquilo. Oferece um bom café da manha, já o cardápio para almoço e jantar não são convidativos no que se refere as opções e valores. Próximo não há comercios o que os deixa sem concorrencia. O povo local é muito tranquilo e não percebemos nenhuma situação de risco a segurança.

De verdad quedamos muy aburridos con nuestra estadia en este hotel, el servicio es PESIMO, super sucias las instalaciones , un malisimo momento vivimos en nuestra estadia .

Excelente el servicio de comedor y comida excelente y de calidad. Me gustò mucho el serviico de transporte a la zona libre.

Отель в колониальном стиле расположен в очень живописном месте, в дельте Панамского канала в 5-ти км от центра Колона, прекрасная охраняемая территория. Созданы все усовия для отдыха в самом отеле, бесплатная доставка в свободную торговую зону и назад. Хорошая кухня (полный завтрак -швецкий стол входит в стоимоть проживания), обед -швецкий стол 25 дол.

La verdad en la habitación fue muy cómoda. La pero el àrea de la piiscina le falta realmente mantenimiento las sillas estaban con moho y no habian toallas. La promociòn de late checkout es excelente.

Este hotel tiene una excelente ubicación. Me impactó el lago que tiene a su alrededor. El servicio de alimentación es envidiable, excelente. La atención de su personal es excelente. La limpieza de las habitación demasiado buena. Las instalaciones son muy buenas. En fin, recomiendo este hotel en toda la extensión del concepto.

em colon sem dúvida a melhor opção. muito bom este hotel, com translados gratis a zona franca. e por falar em zona franca é a melhoir opção de compras no panama perfumes que em panama cyti custam 60 aqui custam 40 dolares. jair.

Hotel oscuro con muy poco movimiento de pasajeros, lo que hace al hupespe no sentirse muy comodo, Habitacion comoda, pero que no se condice para nada con lo que se encuentra al abrir las camas: sabanas con hoyos, arrugadas que hacian dudar si efectivamente no fueron planchadas o fueron usadas anteriormente. En una de las camas encontrè un bicho muerto, y debi esperar cerca de una hora para que se tomaran las medidas para cambiarme de habitaciòn y no recibi ninguna explicaciòn por parte del hotel, aun habiendo solicitado hablar con el gerente, quien no fue capaz de atenderme. Desayuno bueno

El Hotel es ESPECTACULAR, clavado en una reserva natural impresionante, construido por profesionales que realmente poseen conocimientos. Se encuentra en un buen estado, pero su conduccion gerencial no ve la necesidad de mantener y linpiar el hotel, como ese imponente coloso se lo merece.

un desastre los cuartos tienen olor a humedad ,en cuanto a distracciones nada que ver con años atras era otra administracion y le daban mejor mantenimientos a las infraestructuras

El lugar y las instalaciones son formidables, pero el dueño no quiere invertirle y tiene poco personal que nos atienda, en la alberca no hay servicio, ni de toallas ni de bar, el aire funcionaba mal y tuvieron que instalarnos uno portatil, que no me informaron que hacer cuando se llenaba el depósito. El restaurante era muy monótono los bufettes
