Galt House Hotel - لويسفيل

The hotel is located right by the KFC center and all kinds of other entertainment spots. There are a lot of great restaurants within walking distance and I didn't feel at all unsafe walking around, though it was pretty quiet (it was a Tuesday). My room was on a really high floor, which was nice, but I didn't realize when I parked that I'd be in a separate tower, so it required an elevator ride from the parking garage, check in, then an elevator to the third floor to go across to the other tower, then an elevator to the floor my room was on. It's not a huge deal but would be a pain if you had kids or a lot of bags. The room itself was pretty depressing. It was really big but lacking furniture. The linens and beds seemed fairly old and cheap. The bathroom was big and had the extra sink outside of it, but the shower was small and old. But the TV had a lot of channels, which is always nice. Overall I'd say it's not bad for the price but if I stay in downtown Louisville again I'm going to try the Hyatt down the street. This place just seemed too big, out of date, empty and depressing.

The hotel was well decorated for the Christmas holiday. The room was fairly spacious and clean. Excellent location for viewing the sights of the downtown area and within walking distance of many restaurants.

Was not happy with the hotel. Room OK but dated. Shower was a disappointment...just drips of water. Charged for parking...couldn't believe no free parking. We will not stay there again. Love Louisville but not the Galt House!

Hotel is nice. 12 for overnight parkinging isn't bad. It is kind of a long walk through a couple of bad looking blocks. But cab is only 5 bucks to 4th st live

Hotel was nice and had a 4 block pedway to walk through the area. I only miss not having a refridge in the room!

Room was very comfortable, although our particular room had iffy wi-fi capability. (We were at the west end of 9th floor.) All in all, we were happy with the accomodations and although Thelma's Cafe at The Conservatory were unable to provide the breakfast items we ordered, they provided a perfectly good alternative at no charge, so who can argue with that level of customer service?

Great service, suite rooms are spacious, staff is courteous...the Galt House is my favorite place to stay in Kentucky.

We love the Galt House. Friendly staff, lovely rooms, great location in a beautiful city with so much to do. Christmas time is especially nice. We have our entire family meet us there to enjoy the beautiful decorations, Kalightascope and downtown. The only thing that us not so great is their Magnolia Restaurant. Many great places to eat within walking distance.

The location of this hotel is great which is a short walk from the lobby to KFC Yum center. The breakfast was delicious, but the chef was kinda rude. Louisville Sluggers is close by and the view was good. I highly recommend the Galt House Hotel.

This hotel is absolutely off the hook - decorated to the max for the Christmas season with a delightful dinner show....and the Kaleidoscope of lights was incredible. We met our Daughter, Son in Law and Grandbaby there to share some holiday spirit and we all left feeling more joy then you can imagine. The hotel staff is top of the line. The only downside was the pricey buffet breakfast did not provide quality food and I really felt like they were taking advantage of the guests with inferior food. If you have a need to visit Louisville I hope you will stay at the Galt House Hotel and experience all of the beauty for yourself!

The hotel is beautiful, and historic. The shops were fun, and there were plenty of services available. My only complaint is that the housekeeper knocked on our door before 8 am to see if we had checked out already, and if they would be able to clean our room.

My husband and I went down to see a concert at The Palace. Great location, great service and we cannot wait to go back again!

Nice place but charge to park...really? Nice room but not worth the cost. Nothing really outstanding. Bed was comfortable and internet included.

We had a wonderful stay at the Galt House. It was decorated beautifully for the holidays, and the service was outstanding. The only thing I could see was that the ceiling in the shower room was chipping and needed repair, but everything else was great. We will definitely go back again. Close to downtown Lousiville and within walking distance to many places.

The Galt House is a very good hotel the size of the rooms really caught my attention. The onle down side was the queen size beds in the roon with 720 square feet it's only right that a king sized bed be in these rooms because the rooms are king sized. Location is very good in the heart of Louisville walking distance to the Yum Center. I really enjoyed my stay at the Galt House.

this is several blocks from the Slugger Museum, the Science Center, and other tourist attractions, and about 3-4 miles from the trendier Bardstown Road area. there is quite a bit of nightlife at Fourth Street Live, just a few blocks up, and the hotel is right on the river. we had a suite that was large and comfortable.

The hotel was fine, rooms are nice, views of river are nice. The only complaint I have is that prior to showering, I had to run the water for 10 - 15 minutes before it got hot.

Next to the San Clemente Palace located in Venice, Italy, comes the Galt Hotel. It was a winter wonderland this time of year. One structural concern: The clearance of the parking garage beneath the East Tower (especially, when attempting to exit) is much too low. For, the antenna of our Jeep scraped the concrete above each time we attempted to exit.

This is a great hotel to see the city. It is close to free trolley service and great little downtown shops.

The hotel was in a great location centrally located downtown. Unfortunately you have to pay for parking.

We did not even have to ask and we were upgraded to a huge suite overlooking the Ohio River. After a long drive from Chicago it was great to have all the extra room to spread out. It was clean and HUGE. Breakfast was yummy in the Magnolia room and the Christmas decorations were fun. We will be back.

Overall I found it very nice but would like to note that I expected the bed to be more comfortable and the refrigerator was just barely cooler than room temperature. Not very good for cooling down beer.

We enjoyed the hotel very much. It was close to the places we wanted to see and we had an enjoyable time there and in the city.

The hotel has been around for a while but it was clean and updated stylish. The people were friendly and there were a host of places to eat onsite witha variety of pricing. It is close to the YUM center and 4th street live and best of all it was a buy one night get one free stay. Well worth the cost.

Beautiful, relaxing hotel. Our room had a great view of the Ohio River. Christmas decorations were incredible!

The hotel has been updated. We had a suite & the extra room was enjoyable. The 2 restaurants we ate at in the hotel were very good. There were plenty of other restaurants & entertainment within walking distance.

WOW. I was very impressed with this hotel and Thanksgiving dinner at the hotel's restaurant, sure PERFECTION!

Loved our stay at Galt House! We were even upgraded to a suite, when we arrived. Everybody and everything was awesome!!

Nice hotel with good people in a good location for a nice price. I will return and I will recommend.

The Galt House is a great property with a wonderful location and a top notch staff. My wife and 3-children 11 and under had lots of room in a large suite at a very low price. If you visit Louisville I can't tell you the local way to pronouce the City but I can tell you that The Galt House is wonderful.

Great place to stay if you enjoy seeing the sights and sounds of the city. We were pleasently surprise by the cost and size of our room. We were very comfortable during our stay and the hotel was very quiet. The view of the river was nice as well as the beautiful Christmas Decor throughout the hotel. There are many museums just walking distance, including the arts in craft museum which is free! I would defiantly stay here again.

Only issue I had but isn't a major issue is that I made my reservation for a one bed queen size and I was given a room with two beds. Feel I should be notified if there are modifications to my reservation.

The Galt House is a very upscale hotel in the middle of downtown Louisville, KY. It is conveniently located near many downtown attractions including the new Yum Center, Actors Theater, Louisville Slugger Museum and many more.

Surprisingly nice venue for quick overnighter trips to LVL. I had not been there since before the massive renovation and was pleasently surprised by the accomodations. I plan on using it again for YUM Center events, ball games and trips to Churchill Downs.

This hotel is central and easy to locate in Louisville. I stayed here while attending a conference in the hotel, so it was ideal during free time to go back to my room. I had a suite on the 'Suite Tower' and it was very spacious. The decor is not modern but is tasteful. The room was very clean and housekeeping came in each day to tidy up. The staff were friendly and happy to assist with anything. I ate in Magnolia a few times and it was fine - more like family dining with a simple menu. I also picked up some food / coffee at the 24/7 cafe within the hotel which was convenient when in a rush. I would recommend eating in one of the many restaurants located outside of the hotel though. The conference rooms and ballroom were well equipped and great for our purpose. They did have air conditioning on which was very cold for October but staff happily turned it off when requested by attendees. Overall, I was happy with the Galt House Hotel!

Very nice. Easy to check in. Up graded our room to a suite. NICE view.

From the moment I called Reservations to book, I received bad service. I asked if my dates were available and the woman irritably said yes, I told her I'd call right back. When I called back a guy answered and before I could barely give my dates he says they are sold out. I said well the the girl I just spoke with said you had a few rooms available 2 minutes ago. He gets snappy and says "Well I checked and now there are no rooms" I said okay and hung up and decided to check online for other properties through Hotels.com instead. While I'm on Hotels.com I see availability at The Galt house. So I decided to go on the Galt house website and there were rooms available there as well then I called the hotel to double check and a girl answered and said they still have a couple of different room categories available. I decided to just book it on Hotels.com because of the service I had previously received, I don't know why the other agent would say they were completely booked when they weren't and be completely rude with me. So I arrive at the Hotel on the day of my stay and a Front Desk girl named "Tomika" was very sweet. I asked for a King bed but she explained she only had 2 queens and that she could check me into a King bed the next day if I extended my reservation which I had planned. I was going to just keep the queens but it was right next to the ice machine and vending machine. My door shook every time someone got a soda. I could hear loud talking etc from my suite so the next morning I called down really early and asked to extend my reservation for another night and to move to a quieter, preferably king room. A front desk person named Mary answered. She was beyond rude. I asked her 2 questions. "Can I extend my reservation another night and also Can I move to a King room" ...The response was everything but an answer to my questions. She told me to book it online like I did before because she doesn't know what rate I was booked at, Kings didnt have good views, Housek

For the cost, I imagined much more. Was very disappointed. Bigger rooms does not make up for the lack of elegance and updates. Wish is had saved some dollars and stayed somewhere else.
