My title sums it up largely. The room was clean, nice tube and Hyde/Kensington park/palace, lots of places to eat nearby, the bathroom was nice and the desk had the depth of a laptop and it not workable. Also, wi-fi is free only in the lobby. I paid for the wi-fi in-room, but this only works for one device poor room. (so i couldn't use my laptop with it once i register it by logging on with my iphone in the first instance). really convenient location though, just a couple of hundred yards from Bayswater tube station.

Reception staff we not exactly welcoming.

Enjoyed our stay at this hotel - great location close to two Tube stops and good surrounding area for resturants and some shopping. Rooms were small, bathrooms very small - could have used a little more cleaning, but for the price it was terrific

Nice rooms, good beds with fluffy duvets, perfect bathroom in quiet neighbourhood. Shops, Costa and restaurants around the corner.

Great hotel for the price. Would stay again.

Unfriendly staff, not very clean and a mattress which you wouldn't offer your dog for a nap...

Overall good. Had the family room in the basement and the walls were quite thin. Also noise level from the street can be quite high. Other than that, friendly staff, clean nice rooms and good location. Would definitely stay there again.

Thanks for a perfect stay! I asked for, and got, help with roses and champagne - from most helpful staff. Everything was just perfect - a clean, nice and quiet hotel in nice area. (We did not try the hotel breakfast.) We will definitly return!

This is possibly the smallest hotel room I have ever seen. Even the bed was a smaller size than the standard US twin. This is fine if you are a tea-cup sized person or a child, but everyone else should know that if you book a single room, you might not be able to move in the bed and/or stand up all the way (ceiling height was also a concern). Having requested a quiet room, I was surprised to be placed by the elevator and even more disturbed to hear the opening and closing of the elevator doors all night long. Everytime the elevator was used on any floor, I heard a sound similar to a chair dragging across a wood floor overhead. After listening to it for an hour, I realized it was the elevator. I was very dissappointed in the front desk's lack of concern when I told them about the noise the next day. Simply for the value and the location, I might actually choose this hotel again if there weren't better options, but I would pay more for a double room. Better yet, I would look for a pricier but more comfortable option elsewhere. It's worth the $ for a well-rested opportunity to enjoy London without aches, pains, and grogginess from attempting to sleep in a mini-bed in a mini-room. Other than that, I found it to be an excellent location very close to the Bayswater Underground Station, easy to get there from Paddington Station and near lots of restaurants. The afternoon desk staff were helpful with area directions. There is free wireless, but ONLY in the lobby, and although the lobby carpet is looking pretty mangy, the room was in decent shape and very clean.

1. Should change the mattress. I got awful back pains and was forced to sleep on the flor rather on bad. The sink in the bathroom is so little that you can't even wash your fingers. No pressure of water. Can't take a shower 2. The hotel is ran by amatures. Yung girls look like students . The reception take care about reservatins , guest information, maintenance problems like sudden night lack of electricity, and all is mixed up with all. 3/ Charge for wifi in the loby 2 pound for an hour even for one short connection

Good location, close to many restaurants, Kensington Gardens, 20 minute tube ride to central. Room was small but that's what we were looking for. Only complaint was late check in time was not accommodating to an early flight arrival. Overall good experience!

Very nice typical small European-style hotel. Clean, quiet, good location, easy to and from nearby Bayside Tube station. Half a block away from a renovated four-story shopping mall/arcade with Cinema. Near reasonably-priced restaurants. Within an easy walk to original Ottolenghi. Wish Wi-Fi was free, but that's a luxury you don't always find in Europe

This is a great little hotel, in an excellent area close to Bayswater tube stop and Paddington rail station. All new interiors. Decor is plain and functional, but some surprising extras like down comforters, feather pillows, in-room safe, refrigerator, free luggage storage, Gilchrist Soames toiletries and an elevator that actually works. All staff very pleasant. Our room was unbelievable quiet with minimal traffic noise during day and none at night. Our room faced out from the back. Lighting from window good and we opened window at night for breezes. Tiny room but had everything we needed. Plenty of inexpensive places to eat within about a block. I'd recommend it to anyone.

The hotel is located very good location , 5 min walk to bay water underground station, and 6-7 pounds taxi fare to paddington station, everything are acceptable in consideration of price, except the room size is too small, will choose again to stay, subject to the price.

The shower didn't work and when we called maintenance, they asked if we really needed to use it. The staff had very little knowledge of London and spoke broken English. They told us to come back the next day and ask different staff members for assistance. If you pay for extras with your credit card, they charge a service charge.

I just stayed at the London House this past week and I was overall satisfied with my stay. This is a no-frills hotel, clean, in a good area, near lots of restaurants and 3 tube stations (Queensway, Bayswater, Notting Hill). My only complaint is that the staff was pretty unfriendly and that the rooms are small. If you don't care about rude workers at the front desk who will ignore you if you stand there, then this is the place for you. It didn't matter to me that the room wasn't huge. (You're in London. How much time are you really spending in the room?) I felt that I got a really good deal on this hotel and would stay here again.

Nice hotel in a quiet location off the main roads, 5 minute walk from Bayswater station, 8 mins from Queensway. Rooms are of mixed sizes, we stayed in a small split-level room, very short of floor space, but adequate storage. Fine if you don't plan spending much time in the room. Staff were helpful and friendly, hotel seemed well-maintained.

Close to Baywater station, which means couple of minutes with the tube from all interesting places in central London. It's clean and the room is OK but floors are a bit noisy, or maybe I was just unlucky; neighborhood has a good variety of restaurants open late.

Very pleasent and friendly staff. Wish that You had a better madrass in The bed, then You would score really high! Breakfeast were one of The Best in London, tasty, clean and fresh, yes You are good at London Guest House!

I had a twin room that had just enough room for 2 twin beds a closet with a safe and a bathroom. The hotel was clean, quiet and close to transportation, shops and restaurants. It was convient, clean and nice but not a show stopper.

the worst hotel i ever stayed, the bed is to small for grown person to sleep in with comfort. the bed is kids bed, bathroom towels not changed daily, poor service.

Found this Hotel to be a good value. Clean. Comfortable. Good location and easy to get to from airport by train. Lots of places to eat close by. Very helpful staff.

Nice, clean room, reasonable size even though we took the "small double room". The bathroom was freezing and the window poorly isolated (common problem in the U.K?) but we still liked the room very much. There was a radiator that we could turn up. The biggest downside was the staff who hardly said hello when we arrived and were not very helpful with our questions, except for one guy in the end.

In London for a 1-day conference, I decided to stay at the London House Hotel due to its proximity to the conference venue and the overall value. It was only 4miles away and very easily accessible by tube, with two stations (Bayswater & Queensway) within a couple of blocks from the hotel. Very near to the hotel is Queensway which is packed with souvenir shops, restaurants of all kinds and even a mall just around the corner from the hotel. The staff was excellent and very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean. Traveling to London and other european cities, I've grown used to small hotel rooms but first-timers beware if you're expecting an "American size room". The cons would be the paper thin walls, limited TV channels selection, no toiletries available (toothbrush or paste) and the WIFI which is only free at the lounge area but a £1 per hr charge applies in-room. Overall, I would stay there again as the location is easily accessible from the airport and within the city, great middle eastern restaurant called Halal (try the curry chicken), friendly staff, several tube stations within 2-4 blocks and safe neighborhood.

My wife and I found the hotel to be in a great location around 3 minutes walk from Bayswater tube station on the Piccadilly line or a 5 minute walk from Queensway tube station on the Central line with a variety of bars and restaurants nearby. We found the room to be clean and tidy and would happily chose the hotel again. The staff were also very pleasant and helpful and provided us with any travel or nightlife information we required, as well as providing guests with a luggage storage room after checking out, free of charge. All in all a very pleasant stay overall and we both look forward to returning to the London House Hotel on our next London excursion.

Location is ok convenient, the room is clean and nice

Nicely appointed hotel, in good location. Clean and comfortable. Room perhaps a bit small if you are staying a few days, but for one night absolutely fine. Perhaps I showered at a peak time, so the water flow was rather limited. I'd certainly stay their again. Close to a choice of restaurants and to Central shopping areas in London.

I was looking to stay mid-week at a reasonably priced hotel in the Bayswater / Paddington area and was struggling to find anything with a decent rating until I came across the London House Hotel. When I booked, it had achieved a good rating of over 4.1 on Hotels.com. This rating is unusual in the lower price bracket as most are much lower. At around £75 per night for a mid-week stay, I would say the hotel's rating is justified and that overall, it provides good value for money. OK, my room was perhaps a little on the small side but certainly not tiny or cramped and it was perfectly adequate for a one night business stay. My room was clean and comfortable with nice bed linen and it looked to me as if it had been recently decorated. Everything worked properly - lights, radiator etc. The bathroom was also very clean and looked quite new. My only negatives were: (i) my shower was not very powerful - but it was adequate and (ii) the positioning of a shelf above the sink means that it's quite tricky to wash your face! However, none of these minor gripes would put me off staying at the hotel again and I would certainly recommend it to others. The hotel is very conveniently located close to both Bayswater and Queensway stations and there are plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance. For those not wanting to spend £6 on the hotel's breakfast - which is continental style - there is a McDonalds on Queensway. There is parking outside on the street which at the time I stayed was £2.40 per hour between 8.30am - 6.00pm. Make sure you pay for a ticket though as there are loads of traffic wardens patrolling the streets throughout the day and the fines can be hefty if you haven't paid to park. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful on check in and did their best to answer any questions. The only thing they didn't seem to be sure about was whether the hotel is in the London Congestion Zone or not - by the way, it isn't. For anyone looking for a hotel in this so

Small hotels in Europe have small rooms, and the London House Hotel is no exception. These are not for you if you intend to work in your room, for instance, but if you just intend to sleep there and spend the rest of the day in the city, they are fine, impeccably clean, quiet, with a comfortable bed (not always the case in many small hotels), and all what you need: a hair dryer, nice plush big towels, and basic toiletries. To charge for in-room Wi Fi in this day and age seems a little greedy, however, especially when it has to be renewed every day. The continental breakfast buffet is fine for the price. For more food, one can just go one block away, on Queensway, where there is an impressive collection of affordable restaurants, from traditional pubs to French, Italian, Chinese, Lebanese, Moroccan and other eateries, and for the discriminating gourmet, even McDonald's, Burger King and KFC! there is also a Boots (the excellent British pharmacy chain), and even a mall. There are two tube stations a few blocks away, the proximity of Kensington Gardens (just cross the park, and you are at the Victoria and Albert), and the tube takes you to Paddington Station just one stop away. This makes it a perfect location. The modern amenities give the hotel a spartan Danish look, but everything is clean, well maintained, the lift is large enough to accommodate two or three persons with their suitcases, and the personnel is pleasant and competent. I would recommend it.

The staff were very nice, but when asked if they could order us a black cab to take us to Dominion Theatre saturday night, they said they couldn´t, so they ordered us some other cab. We almost missed the show because he couldn´t find the theatre, we had to leave the cab to take us there ourselves. The trip was more expensive than the trip back with black cab, and he would not. For me, this is very bad service on behalf of the staff, and we are never taking anuthing but black cab again.
