The floor (8th) smelled terrible and lots of blanketts were laid on the carpet. It looks more like a construction site rather than hotel. The furnishing in the room is rather "old" but it was clean and acceptable. Front desk personal were not so friendly. In another word, they were rather rude when we checked in. Location wise, I have nothing to complain about. It's on walking distance to the Wangfujing shopping street and to the forbidden city and Tiananmen square (if you don't mind to walk a bit).

The hotel was being refrubished while we were staying so that some of the public areas and facility were not available - this did not detract from our stay however - the staff were more than helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

This hotel is located on THE shopping street in Beijing and within comfortable walking distance to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. We upgraded for access to the business lounge and free breakfast. The lounge offered great window views of the Forbidden City and surrounding area and was a great place to relax and have some tea after a long day of sightseeing.

As with all 4* hotels, there are certain expectations and this hotel certainly fulfilled them. Our room was an executive room which meant that breakfast was included. This was a good spread with both western and Chinese food. The room was nice and very comfortable although since there were two adults and one child we were constantly having to ask for additional toiletries since the cleaning staff never left sufficient quantities for three people. Also the bathroom needed a bit of an upgrade since paint was chipping and it was quite dim in there too. The A/C in the room was very effective and much needed in the 30+ degree temperatures. Overall the staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly but sometimes struggled with English which was frustrating since with a 4* you expect at least this much. Also the biggest disappointment came in the restaurant on the second floor of the hotel. This Chinese restaurant seemed like a 'safer' option for dinner than looking elsewhere since we expected the staff to speak English. However, this was not the case. None of the staff spoke English and it was extremely difficult communicating with them. This has to be the biggest disappointment. For a reputed hotel such as this you would expect staff to be able to speak at least basic English. In fact the doorman (who was extremely helpful, polite and friendly) spoke more English than the restaurant staff!! In terms of location the hotel is well located on Wangfujing Street which is bustling and has many shops and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. One thing to note is that the nearest subway station is a good 20 minute walk away... it is more convenient to get a taxi! So in all I would recommend this hotel since overall the service was good and we had a comfortable stay there.

Location: It is a north of the Wangfujing shopping street. It is not really close to any subway stations (but we used a taxi everytime since taxis are very cheap and easy). Yes there are prostitutes at night in front of the hotel but they left families alone and you cannot tell their trade by the way they dress only by their action. I found the area not as clean as the more western areas but it was safe There is a small market right next to the front door were we bought water, some candy, and you can get chinese liquor for <1 dollar. Forbidden city walking distance Summer palace/old summer palace 70-80 RMB Airport 80-120 RMB depending on traffic Temple of heaven 25 RMB actually most places 25 RMB Hotel: kinda of worn and run down but clean, staff were friendly, they understood just a little english, if you travel alot and know how to speak slowly and use only key words they understood. Free breakfast was very good but they only allow 2 per room so we had to pay for our child. The swimming pool was cool (temp) and the water a little murky. We only went once. You need a swim cap to be allowed to use the pool. The computer in the room was buggy and slow. Bring your own laptop. Free wifi is only available in the executive guest lounge/breakfast buffet area so we used it there. Money can be changed in the lobby and the exchange rate is reasonable Central airconditioner worked and worked well

Close to Forbidden City and hutongs. Staff was helfpul and supported guest by writing in Chinese the name and addressses of tourist sites so taxi drivers could easily guide guest to sites and back to hotel without diffieculty.

This hotel was ok for the price point it offered for an average room. However, the thermostat and fans in our room did not seem to work, when I brought it to an employees attention she just opened the window. Mind you it was bearable because when I was there it was 30 degrees and the room did not get too warm. As for the amenities, the air surrounding the pool made me nauseous. The gym only had what you needed for a quick toning workout. The best thing I found was that I had breakfast included with my room price. It was a very good spread and worth adding. The other restaurant in the hotel was too expensive for the quality of service and food that you received.

The staffs are not very friendly.

We chose this hotel because of its central location.It is only about 15 minutes walk from the Forbidden City and it is only a short walk to the main shopping and restaurant areas. We only had one evening meal in the hotel and were not particularly impressed and on the other evenings we ate out.The hotel is very clean and our room was of a good size. Some of the furniture in our room was a bit worn but the room was comfortable.We booked 2 sightseeing trips through the hotel and they were well organised. We visited the forbidden city independently as the trips only allow 2 hours there and that is not enough. Overall the hotel provides a convenient and comfortable base if you want to go out and explore the city on your own.

El hotel se encuentra en una muy buena ubicacion, sobre la calle peatonal de beijing, en cuanto al personal del hotel son muy amables y serviciales, las habitaciones son comodas y de buen tamaño. Lo unico que tendria para objetar es el olor a cigarrilo que hay en los pasillos de los pisos, es mi tercera estadia en este hotel y no le he encontrado otra contra, el desayuno es bastante bueno. Volveria a este hotel

Hotellet är inte av den standard som Hotells Com uppger det kanske kan bero att det inte gjorts någon ny uppdatering. Hotellet är slitet i boende våningar även om man bor i såkallat hög standard, badrummet lite kunde inte stänga dörren när hotellets matta låg på golvet, sängarna hårda men det är en smaksak, internet fungera dåligt med dåliga sladdar och slitna kontakter. Men personalen som alltid när man är i Kina vänlig, artiga och hjälsamma.

It's nice hotel, and very good location, near by shopping street, and only 3 min walking to metro. I can recommend this to all, good value for money,

I stayed in WGH for a week and was very satisfied. Very clean, pretty much European 4 star standard. The location is great and a taxi distance of <20min to all major attractions for sightseeing, shopping and nightlife. Make sure you don't go to the 2nd floor (business floor) for Internet as it's included in the better rooms. Just ask for the Internet cable if you don't find it in the room, to use with your laptop. All in all 4.5/5.

There is absolutely no doubt that this hotel is the best class. I have absolutely nothing to complain about. It is very helpful staff who spoke perfect English. Taxis from the airport costs about 200 RMB (the hotel staff made sure the taxi driver did not overcharge) The hotel I will return to when I will be visiting China

Rigtigt godt hotel med perfekt belliggenhed. De havde tilbud om gratis ture, som var rigtig gode. Stort værelse og god morgenmad.
