Not much to look at from outside. But the inside the rooms are updated. Bed, TV, Bathroom all very nice. Would stay here all the time. Close to beach, shopping, restaurants.

We weren't in the room much, but when we were it was a weird layout with the tv up on the side wall, and there was no table, so eating was a challenge but everything else was fine

Sea Breeze Inn and Cottages is just a short walk to downtown Pacific Grove. There are plenty of places to eat and a movie theater right on the same road. Being on the point, the beach is a short walk or drive in either direction. Our room was very comfortable, so much so my wife commented she could easily spend a week or two, even though on this trip we only had 3 days. Highly recommended!

This was my second time here. Very comfortable, good condition, walking distance to the shore, and to downtown. Great place to stay with or without dogs.

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. The first time I really enjoyed the cute cottages and the upgraded linens. It felt like a more expensive room on a budget price. I booked both times on Hotels.com so thought my second stay would be in the cottages. But unfortunately I got stuck in one of their rooms right across from the check in area. The room had too many windows that faced either the parking lot or faced a dirty looking back yard area. So I had to keep the blinds closed the entire time or literally feel like you were exposing yourself to the world. Also the walls are really thin so I heard my neighbor all night long. Also the small fridge did not get very cold so my yogurt spoiled and the heater did not work. Overall I was very disappointed! I am glad I reduced my stay to one night since I would have been unhappy staying in that room again. My advice is to call ahead and request a cottage. Way more privacy and they nicer amenities.

This hotel was very clean and very pleasant to stay at. We loved that it was away from populated areas, but yet still a small distance from the ocean and shopping centers. The hotel staff were very nice, and extremely helpful in getting around the area.

The room was fine although the beds were hard and the television was cheap with a poor picture. The walls are thin although our neighbor was quiet. They had a dog they kept pretty quiet and I did not know before booking that the hotel allowed pets. That might have made a difference in my booking. The free breakfast consisted of muffins and coffee and didn't start until 8:00--pretty late for those wanted to get an early start. On a scale of 1 - 10 I'd give the Sea Breeze a 6.

We were there over the New Year holidays. Nice, clean, well maintained, cottage style room with parking, wifi, nice brekkie - and two minutes from the best coastal views we had all trip! Saw seals, whales, sea otters, crashing surf, beautiful beaches, fantastic birdlife. And all a 5 minute drive from Monterey town centre. Can't commend this location highly enough. Good price too. We saw lots of accomm over our road trip. This was by far the best quality/value for money. We stayed in posher, and paid a fortune! We stayed in lesser quality, and paid a fortune! Nice front of desk folk too - very helpful with restaurants etc. Would go back any time.

Great hotel....great staff...however, the walls are so thin that you can hear every word of the other guests (staying on either side of your room) conversation... every word. We didn't get much (if any) sleep at all because of this.

This is a great little motel!! Very quiet. Nice room, comfortable bed. Rated as a queen bed but it was much smaller than our queen, more like a full. Bathroom could have used a bit more of a remodel but you can't beat the quiet. Walking distance to the butterflies and the lighthouse. We will return. Next time it'll be a romantic getaway.

This was our second stay here. The first time we stayed in cottage on the side that says Inns and Cottages. This time we stayed in the Lodge side and our room was very clean and comfortable. However, the entire room had a powerful moldy smell and it almost ruined our experience. When we left, even our coats and luggage had picked up the smell. We told the front desk and he told us that the area is wet and damp and moldy smells are common. Well, that may be the case, but I would like to know if the smell is not an indicator of serious mold issues that can be very unhealthy over prolonged periods and very serious for people who have mold allergies. Check the room first and ask for another. We did not have that option and as I said earlier, our first stay had a cottage with no moldy smell.

Very short stay here, but liked it and knew what to expect as I have stayed here before. Cozy and cute and comfortable and clean.

EVerything without the breakfest

The things I did not like was the non-working phone whereby I could not contact the front desk. Also half the plugs did not work, and the walls were not very sound proof. There was no one on duty from 10 PM until 8 PM so I had to leave without paying bill or getting a receipt. The check -in at 3 PM is unfair whereas the check-out is at 11PM. The amentities were plentiful, and the coffee and muffin hours very nice. Desk personnel could not be nicer. One could walk almost anywhere in Pacific Grove from this hotel.

Parking is not good. Needs to be marked off and room numbers. Very tight quarters in the parking lot.

I visited so I could attend the Monterey jazz festival and this hotel worked out perfectly. Short distance from downtown Pacific Grove.

Room was comfortable; what I expected for this low rate; beds were unusually high, making it difficult for my elderly mother, who is short, to get into bed. I would stay here again.

It was a very quite & peaceful area... It's located about five minutes from the beaches, shops, great restaurants and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The Hotel reminded me of great childhood trips. The staff were nice and accommodating. Pool closes at 10pm and depending on where your lodging it might be across the street. Still... I give it a over all 5.

Pleasantly surprised - will stay again. Not particularly close to downtown, but the Pacific Grove/Monterey area isn't all that big anyway. Very short drive/bike ride to the coast. Only gripe was that at most places things like razors, shower caps, etc. are available at the front desk if they've been forgotten by guests. Not so at the Sea Breeze. A minor quibble.

Room was neat, modern, and had microwave/mini-fridge too. Perfect location if you want to visit the Monterey/Carmel area. It is in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to the shoreline and the fancier houses near the shore. Will stay there again.

We stayed 3 nights and on the 2nd and 3rd days the room wasn't made up until after 4 pm and several calls. The place is understaffed. Location is great but, other then that, we won't be returning.

Walls are too thin, heard the folks on both sides. Room was just ok

Over all OK, but needs to be upgraded.

Fine. Bed was comfortable. Confusing decor. No closet. Wheelchair-accessible shower that invariably resulted in flooded bathroom, a problem compounded by the fact that the bathroom lacked shelves for toiletries. All in all, expensive for an utterly no-frills experience.

The room was very clean and recently updated. However, during check-in, I overheard the hotel clerk telling another guest that the maintenance technician was not responding to their request. Therefore, I didn't bother calling the front desk when I discovered the clock radio was completely useless. In addition, the bathroom sink was incredibly tiny, and very difficult for a woman to get ready with the usual gear. I suggest they get creative and add a few shelves.

We enjoyed it. The shower drain was plugged up and it was fixed on our return to the room. The firepit was also very nice and we enjoyed talking to the other guests. You guys need to have something for us gluetin free folks. We enjoyed the coffee but could not eat the muffins.

This hotel was very wonderful the only downfall was our room wasn't ready when we got there we had to wait 30 mins.Which we found was easy to do because the hotel is near a lot of little shops and places to eat. We have two younger children and i was so surprised how clean and very new looking the room was . The beds were amazingly comfortable and the organic soap smelled SO good. We really enjoyed our stay next time we will bring marshmallow's so we can make smores by the fire pit. We enjoyed our stay, the price and had amazing family vacation.

Comfortable, lovely place to stay.

An early wake-up call from the room next door (3 am) baby crying non-stop prompted us to go in search at 6 am for good coffee. Upon our return and an effort at getting some zzzz's, the occupants were still very loud and disruptive. Management was extremely gracious about relocating us to a detached cottage upon hearing our concerns and bent over backwards to make our stay a peaceful and quiet one.

Room coffee m/c delivered luke warm coffee. No breakfast as such, lobby to small to sit for coffee and muffin. Room and area good.

We enjoyed our stay here...very clean, updated room. we have recommended it to others, and will be staying here on any/all future trips to the Monterey peninsula.

Very friendly, helpful front desk clerk, excellent and tasty muffins. Only stayed l night but relaxing and quiet, yet right on the trolley line. We would go back again next time and use the trolley to all the local activities (Monterey Aquarium, Asilomar state beach, Monterey boardwalk). They took an average drive thru motel entrance and re-designed it with outdoor firepit, sitting areas and garden areas. The only drawback was the pool/hot tub was across the street at the Sea Breeze Lodge - their other property. Residents at the Lodge have to go across the street to the Inn for their continental breakfast.

Reasonably priced, close to attractions, with a very comfortable bed.
