The Hotel is under construction. The room we stayed in looked brand new, which was awesome. They currently have a temporary check in area that is in from of the parking lot. Most things are taped off by caution tape. Besides the construction, it was nice and the location is great. Right on State street.

We had a comfortable stay for two nights. We were there for a wedding and were close to the venue. Too expensive for what it is, but I guess it has to do with the town and location. In any other city, it would be $80-90, but we paid $170 per night. Smallish room, but decent.

Fair choice for its price, taking into consideration the lack of cheap hotels in Santa Barbara. Close to most places of interest. Free parking. When we stayed in this hotel, some renovation works took place, and check-in was directly on the street :) Simple, but complimentary breakfast is also nice.

Great location. Room was fine. On the down side, it smelled of too much lysol or some kind of air freshner. Desk was really high and chair was really low. Not a huge deal. Room and bathroom were clean and spacious, and the location is excellent, just a short walk on State Street to restaurants and shops.

This review will only be accurate for a short while. I stayed here at the end of May 2013. The place was under construction at the time. Noise in the morning and having to dodge the crew. The renovation is needed as my room was well past its prime. Seemed to be an independent motel in the process of being converted into a Day's Inn. Hopefully it will be nicer post-construction. But it was inexpensive and the staff very friendly. Decent location at the north end of all the State Street shops and restaurants I'd consider it again once the dust clears.

The hotel was under construction... there was no lobby except for a tent in the parking lot. The room was small but decent. The bathroom was small but in decent condition. I am not sure what they had upgraded already or not in the rooom but hopefully it was going to get some attention. The wall mount AC did a less than adequate job to cool the room. The fridge was nice addition for our comfort.

Awful conditions, terrible breakfast I do not recommend.

Good stay in nice and Quito room. The concierge speaks swedish fluently which allo is nice

Hotel must have been recently bought by Days Inn as it still has the old El Prado Inn sign in the building. I was unsure if it was my hotel. Construction being done everywhere, Luckily I was there on the weekend so there was no noise. Room was clean but dated. I forgot there was a time without flat screens. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO HAVE BEEN INFORMED OF THE RENOVATIONS.

Noise, noise, noise! No front desk, couldn't even store my bags. Should be stated that there are renovations going on. This was NOT stated in the hotels.com website.

Perhaps once the renovation is complete, this hotel will be better, but for now it is horrible. There is no soundproofing at all, so not only can you hear every car that drives by on the busy State Street, but the post-bar crew that rolls into the hotel after 2am until 3am or so will wake you up. The style is from the 90s, complete with a CRT television. Just old and loud.

Remodeling did not affect stay, everything was ok, except the late check-in.

The hotel was undergoing renovations at the time. Room was just OK, on the noisy street, breakfast was limited. This could all be because of the renos, not sure, the locations was fine, close to the downtown shopping.

The location is pretty good- there is a nice market across the street that carries a wide variety of foods. Hotel is in walking distance to several parks and to downtown Santa Barbara. The lobby of the hotel was under construction when we were there. I was not told about this when I called previously to request early check in and a crib. They could not guarantee the crib nor give us early check in. I asked if there would be somewhere we could store some items when we got into town until the room was ready and I was told this was a possibility. When we arrived we were told there was no such storage place as the lobby was closed for remodel. When we finally checked in we were told that the elevator would be out of use starting at 9 the following morning. We planned ahead and started taking things to our car early but on the last trip to the car at 8:30, we found the elevator was already taped up. Needless to say we had to carry the rest of our belongings down the stairs. The room was very basic but quite large. The biggest problem I had with it was that the floor was damp as if it was shampooed and not given enough time to dry completely. This made sleeping a bit uncomfortable as the room got kind of humid from the floor being damp. I'm sure things will get better there when their remodel is complete.

Perfect location on main road for shops and restaurants and the rokm was huge faving the pool. Very clean and well arranged this was perfect for what we needed. Breakfast was good selection and all staff very helpful.

The staff is very friendly and accomodating. The only negative thing that I can say about our stay was that we stayed in a room that faced the boulevard and was very noisy. We've stayed at this hotel before and it really is a great hotel. Totally recommend it!

If you are on a budget and hotel is just for sleeping then this is your choice. But if you are looking for something that looks nice and its comfy then looks elsewhere. Overall I loved my stay here

We arrived a couple hours prior to check in but the staff accommodated us and we got a room within minutes of our arrival. Good location! We were 3 girls and still felt safe walking to and from state street. There are several homeless people like any beach/city area, just fyi, so we did take a cab at night. We were just blocks from all the shops/restaurants so during the day we didn't have to hassle with driving and parking. The beach is probably a 25 minute walk. Breakfast the next day was great!

It was a great place to stay. Our suite was just right. Very clean. I didn't like that the TV reception was bad at times and that bedroom had no overhead lighting and the nightstand lamps weren't bright but other than that everything else was great. The staff was very friendly and the location is perfect. Close to all the hotspots on State St. and pier. There's a market right across the street that has a deli & grill so perfect if you want a burger, salad or anything, wide selection. Would definately stay again.

They let us use the business center even after we checked out and the service was great

This is our third visit to this hotel in Santa Barbara, Ca. only one criticism was the main bathroom sink was sluggish in draining. We still would definitely come back.

We needed to get out of Camarillo for the night and didn't want to pay too much and wanted to be close to downtown. Found Days Inn. You can miss it because the sign says Prado Inn- on State St you see Days Inn. Old building and rooms just as out dated. However, it smelled very clean- the linens were clean, pillows were nice. It had everything we needed- blow dryer, coffee maker with coffee, a fridge and a table and chairs; for a stop over it was great. It was walking distance from downtown- be ready to walk to get to the heart of downtown on State St. though. On a warm summer night this would be awesome- but in the 50's it was a bit chilly! When we returned for the night I believe younger kids (20's) found this hotel to be in their budget as well. They were extremly loud- yelling from the hall and stairway, walls are thin- heard bumps from upstairs and beside us all night. You can hear the traffic from State St. But that didn't bother me. You basically pay for what you get- for us it worked but will look for something else next time.

Standard fare. The room was clean and comfortable. The sign on the building says "El Prado Inn", though.

The room was small, clean, & comfortable. Older hotel, close to shopping, restaurants, & bars. Staff was nice but no early check in unfortunately. Breakfast was coffee, fruit, bagels enough to get you going! Lots of sightseeing near by...the SB Mission, museums, Stearns Warf, Downtown. I would stay here again.

I parked my car once and walked everywhere. The pool is openned all year round.

Stayed here while visiting relatives for Thanksgiving. Perfect place for a night, friendly staff, nice room.

You can't beat the convenience of this location just off State Street. The hotel staff is always very pleasant and helpful and the morning bakeries are good. There is a pool but no jacuzzi (bummer). The rooms are not so great, old furnishings, old TV, kind of dumpy ... yet clean. I keep going back due to the convenience of the location and affordability.

Clean and comfortable for a very reasonable rate.

The carpet was filthy. The screens on the windows have not been cleaned in years. The WIFI connection dropped several times an hour. Overall the price is ok for the location, but the place can use some maintenance. The location is great - close to the shopping/restaurant district you can easily walk. Room was comfortable. Probable would stay again, but I recommend you bring some sandals to walk around in the room

Staff was very helpful. Room was a bit small but worked for what we needed, a couple of nights of a clean, convenient place to stay. Would definitely stay here again. Only thing I wish they had was a hot tub.

The Best Days Inn I've ever stayed at. The employees were very helpful, courteous and eager to please. Service with a smile at every occasion. Clean room, free parking and internet service, with a great deli/market accross the street. The bedding was old and should be replaced - the only suggestion I would make to management. Will stay again and recommend, especilally with the very high room cost in Santa Barbara!

Couldn't sleep at all between the a/c turning on every 30 min so LOUD it constantly woke me up; or the constant cars & people walking and talking outside of our window/door--it was like sleeping in a parking lot. Even the great location of this hotel being near downtown Santa Barbara was not worth the discomfort. Will NOT stay again.

location is the only good thing about this hotel. walking distance to the good spots on state st. the room itself was disgusting. had a prison shower with rags for towels, i wouldnt even wash my car with these things. the carpet was sticky so bad that i wore sandels throught the room and even in the shower. there is not tub only standup shower. the sheets were put on our bed were still damp so when we went to sleep that night the bed felt moist and wet. god knows the last time they washed that comfortor so that was immedietly thrown on the floor. if you are looking for cheap and convienient this is your place...

We came for a Black Key's concert and were looking for a hotel to stay in close to the concert. It seems alot of reviews are based on old ownership before Days Inn took over. Here's the thing...you don't spend much time in your room and the small but NOT too small rooms were perfect for my wife and I. Little fridge, small table and chairs, tv, etc...it was like it was designed for people like us who just need to put our stuff up and then head off to our destination. We would definitely stay here again if we are going to concert. For the price? Perfect. Cheap compared to other hotels. The neighborhood is fine. There is a market across the street. It's on State Street so you have to walk a few blocks till you get to the busy part of State...but's that all other hotels too...unless you want to spend $350up at Canary or somewhere. Pft! You are hardly in the room! Very clean too. Front desk was nice. Has a GREAT pool. Give it a shot!

Will not stay here again!

We picked this property because of its location. Right after arriving we wished we had picked another one. The room smelled musty. The bathroom sink had a foul odor eminating from it. The bed was comfortable, but the sheet corners kept coming undone. New linens would help. The room and property were in need of updating. It's location is all it has going for it at the moment, but it's over-priced for the quality of the room.
