The 2 1/2 star rating is underrated, but maybe that is good because it filters out the nondiscerning and allows for those who actually research and read the reviews, which I did. La Quinta Inn & Suites Vancouver delivered beyond the reviews and rivaled 4 star properties I've stayed at with cleanliness, comfort, staff hospitality, parking, breakfast, amenities, location, decor & ambiance, wireless, available coffee & beverages, microwave & mini fridge, It's the best kept secret in the Vancouver/Portland area, but not for long. I am telling everyone and will be returning!

We were very pleased with everything. The breakfast was good as well.

Decided to stop for a nights rest enroute to Seattle. Very clean and accessible off freeway. Nice lobby. Very slow elevator to second floor but minor detail. I do believe they serve a free continental breakfast which I never take part in.

This hotel was just not what we have come to expect from La Quinta. The breakfast, cleanliness, rooms, etc...were just lower quality.

Because I had my small Jack Russell we were limited to a smaller amount of choices for hotels. After staying in a smoking/dog friendly room and a handicap/dog friendly room we went to La Quinta. The second we drove up and the doors opened up for us we knew this was going to be a wonderful stay. After passing the fresh plate of cookies, coffee bar and the beautiful rock fireplace we made our way to the check in counter where right there was 2 glass containers- one was doggie treats & the other doggie pick up bags. Our room was clean and comfortable, even enough room for our dog to play. Had an area outside for her to potty that looked like a nice trail. Can't say enough good things about this hotel. One thing, get to breakfast a little early, not as many food choices towards the end. Best choice for dog owners and a nice place for a very reasonable price.

The convenient location was great near I-5 and I-205. Close to shops, Starbucks and restaurants. The outside of this hotel has a nice water feature and the inside, a floor-to-ceiling rock fireplace. The décor was homey and the employees friendly. We had a room right next to the elevator and thought we would hear noise at night but our sleep was peaceful with no noise. The extra large room would be comfortable for most but I like the room a little cooler when I sleep. Due to the large size of the room, it didn't get really cool at night but would work for most people. The beds were really comfortable and the rooms were clean. We smelled breakfast in the morning and headed down. Was disappointed to see the only eggs on the menu were hard-boiled and no oatmeal. They did however, offer biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit and waffles. Aside from the breakfast, I would stay there again.

I was extremely pleased with allaspects of my stay at La Quinta.

Very clean, good service. Nice hotel and comfortable beds. Quiet area but essentials within walking distance including coffee and several restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

Very friendly ladies at front desk. our room was clean and comfortable.

The touted breakfast was so bad my party opted to go out each day, even though we'd chosen this hotel specifically because we wanted breakfast. Not a fancy breakfast - a bowl of oatmeal or fresh fruit. The fruit was awful, they ran out of juice after an hour. If you want donuts for breakfast, this is your place. Most of the front desk staff was great, but the one we really needed.... one of our party left her phone charger in the room. We were only a couple of miles down the road when she noticed, so we called and said we were on our way back. They said not to bother - that housekeeping takes all those kinds of things, and has to log them into a lost and found binder and they wouldn't know until tomorrow if it had been found.. um... what? It was probably still plugged in, IN the room! Nope - we won't go look.

my stay was very pleasant If I have to stay in the area again I would stay in this motel as it is pet friendly

I like this motel very much. It's clean, staff are attentive and a great room and amenities for the price. I always stay there when I'm in Vancouver.

It was a nice, comfortable and clean room. Had free wifi, parking, cable and even a free continental breakfast. For a place to shower and sleep, what more would you want?

Breakfast was good, especially since it was complimentary. You make your own waffles, wish they had sausage or bacon though. The cookies at night are a great treat. Love that they offer 3 types of creamer for their free coffee in lobby including French Vanilla and Hazelnut. Yum!! The beds are a little firm for my taste-my back was a little sore the next day. The pool is small and I think it's only 5 feet deep so no diving. No Hot Tub. :( Hotel carpet in halls need to be stretched as the carpet is bunched up in them. Must walk carefully expecially if you are elderly. Nice Hotel though.

The hotel staff was really helpful and friendly！

There were three groups of us here this night. (in town for a funeral the next morning) We picked this Hotel for one simple reason - you have an indoor pool and the little ones were able to swim that night for a bit before having to go to bed. The pool area and pool were very clean a bit too much chlorine but they were happy. Everyone had a blast. Thank you so much

The hotel was very clean. The parking lot is very small we arrived around 11:30pm not one parking space and the overnight reception clerk gave us her space.

it was ok no seating in room but on the bed.

it was great. The staff was friendly. I loved the cleanliness of the building, landscape and rooms.

So I had received news my grandmother was terminally ill so I made the decision to come see her as soon as I could. We made the long drive (my fiancé and 8 yr old son) from Sacramento, CA. To Vancouver, WA. the following week. I had been using the Hotels.com mobile app on mne for its awesome convenience to kinda sce out prices before hand. So for just a few days notice I found the La Quinta for 4 nights just under $300.00, which you couldn't beat with a stick. So I booked it! I also (previously worked in the hospitality business) called and arranged a late check-in since we were driving from Sacramento which took about 11 hours. My overall stay was fantastic! The service was good and the staff were very friendly. A couple key things to point out: 1) free breakfast which they had a waffle maker which was delicious, and biscuits and sausage gravy. 2) housekeeping was impeccable! Always had bed made and fresh towels. 3) if you're a dog owner they have treats at the front desk and they had a bunch of cute little dogs (with owner on leash of course.) Which I thought was nice since I love dogs and I couldn't imagine being away from my own pets for that long. Well I hope this helped you, who ever you are and I hope your stay will be as enjoyable as mine was. *one small down fall after this whole thing was the hotel only has one elevator which moves like a snail! Other than that a fantastic place for an even more fantastic price!

We were very satisfied with our room. The continental breakfast was okay. My biscuits were cold inside and the sausage gravy was real bland. Other than that I would definately recommend this hotel to others. The lobby and dining room were very clean and nicely decorated. You feel comfortable to moment you walk in. We have no complaints about our room.

I stayed there and complained about my room not being cleaned properly. I complained to the front desk several times only to have them keep putting it off on someone else. check out day they finally gave me a discount of $16 after staying for two nights in a dirty room. Very disappointed!!!

This was the first time we stayed at this hotel, and I will definitely stay there again when visiting the area. It was the most beautiful La Quinta I've ever seen. It was easy to get to with close freeway access. The people were super nice and the room was very nice and clean. I felt like I paid a lot more for it than I did. Highly recommended!

Have stayed here numerous times when down to Portland and surrounding areas for a shopping trip. This time the breakfast is going downhill compared to various nearby locations for around the same price but offering a much better breakfast.

I will stay here everytime I visit my family that live 10 minutes from hotel. If you are a business person traveling through, the hotel is equally welcoming and competitively priced. In other words it is business and family friendly. Quiet rooms and staff accommodates room requests. The hotel staff is friendly. Hotel clean; housekeeping staff thorough. Lobby w/fireplace - ambience inviting. Great complimentary bkfst. Quiet place. Just around the corner from strip mall w/Fred Mayer, pizza, ice cream on one side of the freeway, and on the other more shops/fast food and restaurant. Hotel right off I-5 and 205 but very quiet! Just 25 minutes from Portland. Pet friendly, and saw several guests w/dogs, but my room didn't seem like there had been pets in it (you know those kind of places that are disgustingly obvious). I will stay here again when I visit my family whether I am alone or am travelling w/my teen boys. The pool is inside, year round at abt 80 degrees. The exercise room is good for cardio with one seated bike, a treadmill and a cross-trainer. There is a business center that I think has 2 pc's (didn't need so didn't go in room). The wifi access worked well.

Stayed with three dogs for no extra charge. Good value for money. Ideal for exploring Portland without the hassle of staying in the city.

We were very impressed that at 3:00 AM the hotel had bagels, yogurt & juice for us since we had to leave very early to catch a flight!

I had the kids out for the night and picked La Quinta since it had what looked like a nice indoor pool from the pictures on the Hotels.com website. What the website didn't show was that the pool heater was broken. My kids that are used to swimming in the cold ocean water only lasted 3 minutes and the rest of our evening was full of unhappy kids. The manager's apologies while appreciated didn't help the situation. The breakfast was ok. Other than cold boiled eggs, no other protein available. Hotel looks really nice but finer details need improvement. The trim around our door was significantly detached by 3 or 4 inches.

The stay was typical,friendly staff,decent room and breakfast. However,on several occasions my wife and I were accosted by dogs,including in the dining area. The animal actually tried to jump on me while I was eating. the other incident occured in the elevator,2 on a leash also jumping on people.None of the pets were service animals,but what got me was the staff would not do anything to resolve the issue(I metioned the dining room incident at the desk). I don't think I will use this hotel in the future.
