My wife and I spent a lovely first time long weekend in Barcelona at this hotel. It is in a superb location, central and safe, near to La Rambla. Friendly service, clean and comfortable room on the 5th floor overlooking the rear enclosed courtyard - nice and quiet.

Outstanding location in the old city. Close to Cathedral, museums, open-air market, restaurants, city-wide transportation, and the port. ATMs and small convenience store across the street a plus. Quiet and restful. Although our room was small, it was tastefully done, well lit, and the bath was completely modern and clean.

Located in the Gothic Quarter. It is a couple blocks away from Las Ramblas. The hotel is a little secluded from other hotels but I near a pretty good tapas bar and shops. We had read alot of hotel reviews before going with this place and I have to say that if we return to Barcelona we will be staying at that hotel. The front desk was always helpful and had great suggestions for tapas in town.

well located . 5 mins walk from liceu metro. inside a lane . took an upgrade and got a small balcony , tea / coffee machine and a bathrob. we are vegetarians and there was a veg indian restraunt very close to the hotel. otherwise the upgrade wasnt probably worth as they dont even offer free wifi beyond half an hour. b/f didnt seem to be worth the price. it wasnt included inspite of upgrade. but all in all was a reasonably satisfying stay. guess had i not taken an upgrade, would have got a much cramped room.

Great staff, very clean hotel . The only real drawback would be the ability to find the hotel when you arrive in Barcelona. Once there , its a very central area of the city

Very convenient, but their room was really small. No any water heating machine was provided.

We go to Barcelona frequently and this time wanted a budget break. We normally stay up Passeig Gracia as we are happy to walk up and down. But we had less time and were arriving at about 7pm. Chose the hotel based on reviews and were very happy. Tthe location is less than 5 minutes easy walk from the Airport bus in Catalunya Sq. Walk down Angel and take 2 nd on right then first left and the hotel is on the RHS immediately. We were offered a deal on breakfast but did tn take up (still 12E plus each) and we like to eat lunch. The hotel was comfortable, the beds were really good and the room was quiet . Did nt get a balcony but outdoor patio , did get the requested high floor. only the soap was stingy it totally disintegrates and sorry but I don t like getting washed with a satsuma! Minor niggle as I always take soap. Woud visit again and being central you can eaily call in with any purchases rather than wearing yourself out!

GREAT LOCATION AND A CLEAN HOTEL

Good breakfast buffet. Close to the Airport Shuttle Bus, La Rambla, Marina, Shopping. No free internett in the room.

This is a small comfortable hotel in a wonderful location in the center of town a short walk to Las Ramblas and Metro. Room small but had balcony, safe, fridge and a modern bathroom. We were very happy with everything.

We enjoyed our stay here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. Location is great. Close to La Rambla, bus tours and restaurants.

Great Hotel, very clean and confortable. Only problem is signage on street signs to find the block.

This hotel is right in the middle of everything, but still tucked away on a quiet block off of Las Ramblas. Everything was clean and staff was friendly. As an English-speaker, there were no issues in communication as they were fluent in many languages. I would recommend this to hotel to family and friends looking to see all the sights, particularly when you have a short time to do everything in.

Air conditioning was not effective in cooling the room

Prime location in the Gothic Neighborhood- close to tourist sites- great for cruise ship passengers- easy subway from airport to hotel.

Towels are a little too thin

Only thing was that the internet service is only in the lobby - no big deal; but a little more inconvenient. Great location; great front desk; nice room.

Yes, this is a good location BUT the beds are uncomfortable and the air conditioner sounds like a 747 in your room. Front desk staff very friendly, in spite of the fact that they were working in FULL uniform with no air conditioning....ugh!

Very clean, quiet, close to La Rambla and metro stations. A little difficult to find as it is on a quiet street, but overall, a good hotel at a great value.

The Hotel is located right in the centre close to Las Rambas in a very quite street. Hotel staff very friendly. The room are simple but with a modern decoration. We found it a bit small for a double and a single bad. The toilet very modern and clean Breakfast included with a very good selection of products. Parking space is available near by for a 25 euros per day however the hotel street is only allowed for taxis. if you drive with a car, you would have to park and walk with your bags on. In overall a very good hotel for the ones interested to visit Barcelona.

This Hotel is in an excellent location, minutes from the Ramblas and Plaza Cataluya. Shopping everywhere, and stores all arround. Easy to public transportation and one block away you find a local supermarket where you can buy all your needs at an affordable price. Would stay here again. the only draw is that breakfast is very expensive.

Perfectly situated on a quiet street directly off Las Ramblas, couldn't find a better location, very friendly staff. The hotel itself was very clean and comfortable, we would definitely recommend this hotel as it is in walking distance from everything, even the beach!!

Friendly front desk staff, great location, great shopping in area, close to metro.

The street name is not correct and it was hatd to find but once we found it was wonderful and very confortable after traveling for a full day. Calle Duc is the name on the street sign, right next to the square they found roman artfacts.

I stayed at the Victoria on August 4th, 2011 for a pre cruise night . Wonderful location just a few blocks from La Rambas. They got us checked in when we arrived on Thursday morning at around 10:30 AM. It was wonderful after a long flight from the states. Great location. Didn't eat there so I can't comment on the food. Loved having a coffee maker right in my large, king size room. I also had a small balcony overlooking the back of the building.

Central location just off the Ramblas yet very quiet. Helpful staff. Clean ,modern rooms with silent,efficient Air Con. American visitors may find the rooms smaller than they expect.

Close to all the main atractions Ramblas, Gothic Quarter. Old city, Placa Catlunya metro to other sights. Nice room and very well furnished. Front desk staff very helpful and knowledgable.

We were very pleased with this hotel. Family stayed at Hotel Colon and we decided to stay at a less expensive but nice place. They ended up with problems and we had a fantastic stay. Well worth the money. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly and very helpful. Hotel reasonable close to metro/bus and sight seeing tour buses as well as the cathedral and la rambla. We would definitely stay here again without hesitation. Only thing was we did have to walk a couple blocks when dropped off by the taxi because he said he couldn't drive us in front of the hotel. However it wasn't a bad or far walk. When we left we walked to the hotel colon to catch our taxi. Again we highly recommend this hotel to others.

The hotel was perfect for what we wanted - it was right by Las Ramblas and literally a 5 minute walk to Catalunya. The room was fine - small but for all the time we spent in the room it wasn't an issue. We didn't have a kettle (but we knew this would be the case) so we asked for one and a hospitality try was brought up straight away. All in all I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone wanting a very reasonable hotel right in the centre but in a quiet area, away from noise.

Excellent location to see Gothic area of Barcelona. We took a cab because we weren't sure of the trains and other transit available. Be prepared to walk in about three blocks because the area is pedestrian traffic only. Signage is very discreet, so check the walls! The breakfast was excellent if you wish to stay in the hotel to eat, but you can eat for less from local shops. Don't expect a N. American breakfast, but they will cook eggs to order if you wish. We found the staff helpful and friendly and would certainly stay again because of the location and ease of access to public transit. We only stayed for two nights because we were leaving for a cruise. We would have gladly stayed longer.

Stayed over the night at this hotel in Barca, it is quite a distance from the airport so will cost you a bit if travelling by taxi, although the bus stop is about a 5min walk. Bit difficult to find the hotel is not familiar with spain as it is hidden between the many shops and there is no real road names. Other than that the hotel is in a great loacation surrounded by hundreds of great shops and right next to la ramblas which is bustling with activity.

We stayed 6 nights here and everything was just great! Location was perfect, staff friendly and helpful and the room clean and confortable. I would stay here again...thanks NH Duc de la Victoria!! Karen and Lara from Boston, MA

I absolutely loved this hotel! The room was not large by American standards but compared to the hotel room we are staying in currently in Paris for approximately the same price, it was large. The bathroom at the NC Duc de la Victoria was large and modern. The hotel is in a great location near La Rambla but on a quiet side street. What I liked best about the hotel though was the front desk staff. Everyone was so friendly, helpful and cheerful. They were the best! I would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is very conveniently located. It's only minutes from the Cathedral, Los Ramblas, Placa Catalunya, and many other sites. It was clean and quiet with a good breakfast. The only complaint was the air conditioning which kept the room cool but so humid (when it wasn't outside) that the sheets felt actually wet.

Perfect for what we wanted. It was reasonably priced , central and clean. It also had a great power shower. Room was a little small.

This hotel was very good in a central location. 5 mins walk from Place Catalunya and just off Las Ramblas in a very quiet pedestrian area but difficult to find. Some taxi drivers don't know they can drive to the hotel and we were dropped on Las Ramblas. As the name of the street was not on our Booking Confirmation and no prominent sign outside we had great difficulty finding it. Even the police had difficulty. The hotel does have a very good map if you can obtain this beforehand. Very clean and staff friendly but beds a bit too hard. I would definitely go back.

This hotel is located just off La Rambla, about a 2 minute walk, but it's tucked off on a smaller street so that it's quiet at night. It's located about 3 minutes walk from Placa de Catalunya where you can access a metro station with several lines and where the Aeroport bus drop-off. From the metro stop here or at La Rambla you can easily get to all of the sights in about 15 minutes. The front desk staff was very helpful and spoke fluent English. We didn't eat the breakfast at the hotel but the front desk was able to suggest good places. The room was comfortable, the beds a bit hard, but fine. We were able to look out onto a quite street. It was a good size by European standards. The king bed is two twins pushed together but this was fine as I was traveling with a friend. The bathroom is well updated, a bit small to have two people at the same time, but fine. We didn't hear noise from any of the other rooms. Overall, I would say that this hotel is in a perfect location and very convenient to restaurants, the metro/bus lines and the sights of Barcelona. It's also very easy to access from the airport. The staff was very friendly and helpful and I would definitely stay there again and recommend to other travelers.

Great location - close to Las Ramblas but a bit away from the craziness. On a side, pedestrian street, beautiful neighborhood. Hotel is clean, comfortable, no frills. Good value!!!

This hotel is in a prime location just a couple of blocks from the Placa de Catalunya and right in the center of the old town. Staff is friendly, helpful and they speak very good English. Rooms are small, but more than adequate with beautiful wood floors and updated bathrooms. This is my second stay and I would definitely book there again.

we went to barcelona for a long weekend - the location of the hotel was extremely convenient. off las ramblas and very quiet, i would recommend it. the rooms are on the small side, but still comfortable.
