When we arrived to the hotel all i could say is wow what a grand entrance. When i booked the hotel i didn't realise i booked without breakfast, it was quite expensive compared to other places we stayed at in Vietnam so we chose not eat here. If u wanted to use wifi (on mobile) this was also an extra cost, it was free in the lobby area. I was quite disappointed with this as it was free in all the other hotels we stayed at further north. Location of hotel isn't great as there isn't much around. Best district to say in is 3, shopping lots of places to eat at. Also the mini bar is very over priced so we when to a supermarket to buy our water & snack as it was about 1/6 of the priced. The hotel does have a very nice pool area though

A bit noisy, breakfast was lacking. Friendly staff. Location was good.

Reached the hotel around 11am n was allowed to check in earlier before 2pm. Very happy about the service from the staffs from front desk, concierge and waitress from the coffee house . There were helpful, polite and very warm. Keep it up

The Hotel comes with excellent staff of wonderful service attitude. The lobby is grand, breakfast was excellent. Room is clean, although the decor is somewhat dated and not too spacious. It's situated in a not so desirable neighbourhood, but the hotel provides free shuttle service to city centre every two hours. Very convenient and pleasant ride. I would come back to stay again. The price of the room is excellent bargain.

Excellent Hotel but just a bit far from city centre. This would not be a problem except it was TET when we were there which meant shuttle bus not running in the evening. It took 1 hour to walk from centre to hotel but taxi would cost $3 Pool excellent , food pricy. $4 forpacket of crisps in the room

It's a standard hotel with no surprise at all. Just one thing to note that is free wifi at lobby won't allow access to Facebook.

I have travelled extensively throughout the Far East on business and pleasure over twenty five years. This was my first visit to Vietnam. I stayed on the executive floor of the Equatorial with my wife and two adult children from 14.1.12 to 17.1.12 during the first part of our holiday. We were very happy with our rooms, the facilities and the service from the friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is centrally located and is an oasis from the wonderful chaos of the city. It is worth paying extra for the executive floor since the price includes an excellent breakfast and drinks in the evening as well as very tasty local and western snacks. The Tour section was also first class and arranged for an excellent driver and car to take us on a 5 hour journey to our destination on the coast at a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Taking into account that this hotel is a 5-star hotel, it did not meet the expectations. We stayed in two other 4-star hotel (REX and Northfolk) and they both were better than Equatorial. Service was not as good and the room did not include WiFi or breakfast. Also the location is not so convenient compared to District1 hotels althougt there are some nice local restaurants nearby. Also the pool was very nice. By all means this is not a bad hotel, just not as good as the price and stars would suggest.

This is a very nice hotel, a tranquil oasis in the hell of Saigon, great service and pool, any request was done immediately with a smile, I will stay here again

This is my 3rd time staying in this Hotel with a small group of people who are all satisfied with the comfort and convenience. It is value for money and surely we will be back again. Lastly, the poolside new year countdown (2011) was a fantastic experience which the whole family enjoyed so much!

Firstly lets get the Wifi issue out of the way - it cost $16 for 24hrs and $6 for an hour. In a hotel of this standard I think Wifi should be standard with the room whch would bring it in lone with hotels that we stayed in around the rest of Vietnam. The wifi speed was good enough for clear Skype calls. Location was a little out of the main town, but it was cheap and easy to get a taxi into town (approx $2 to $3) depending on where you went. There is a also a complimentary hotel minibus which leaves to go into town every couple of hours so this can save you some money. It will also pick you up from certain locations at particular times but we didn't make use of that. The room was very clean and the housekeeping very attentive. They made sure our tea bags were kept topped up. We had a room on a non-smoking floor and it was facing (and looking down onto) the pool. This was nice for watching the sunset and also checking how many people were using the pool. The fridge in the room wasn't very cold which was a bit annoying. The shower was nice and hot and powerful. Bathrobes were nice and thick too. We didn't get breakfast in the room and opted instead to take the taxi into town for breakfast or some days we bought some pastries from Tous Les Jours the day before and put them in the fridge for the morning.

It can be rated atmost a 3 star hotel. Except the lobby is renovated, other facilities or rooms look very outdated. Free wifi only available at lobby, but the worst thing is you can't access Facebook! The sound prrof at room is bad as you can tell whenever there are people walking at corridor. It's even worst when people are talking! The day when we checked out, they have renovation work started at 9am but without any notice. It's so noisy that thank God we left by that time!

I booked 3 nights in this hotel for my first trip to explore this historical city...Generally hotel service and room conditions are on par as a 5 star hotel, clean and comfortable. However the location is really not very convienient if you are on F&E, unless you don't mind to take a cab everyday to downtown, there's not even one stall selling a breakfast nearby! Another issue is the room's sound insulation is not good, actually i should say is poor, cos i can hear what my next door couple is talking every night, lucky there's no much other noise.....

Hotel Equatorial is a nice and clean Hotel in the quiet area of district 5 in Ho Chi Minh

Hotel Equitorial is a little piece if heaven in the hustle and bustle of HCMC. The rooms are spatious, clean, and up to date. The staff was always willing to assist and spoke good English. We were impressed with pool and gym, both are top notch! We enjoyed being a short distance, $3 cab fare, from the tourist central. I would definitely stay at this palacial hotel again.

Hotel was good and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was ok, though the variety could be improved daily. Only downside is the location.....not many food choices within walking distance. Great staff otherwise, allowed us to check-out late with no hassle.

We found that some of the reception staff did not speak English very well and were very hard to understand. We thought that as a 5 star hotel internet access should be free.

The hotel staff is extremely accommodating, especially Urara Yamaguchi (Japanese Guest Service Manager), Pham Nguyen Mih Tri (Front Office Manager), and Sunish Sadasivan (Rooms Division Manager). The complimentary shuttle service is outstanding. I would like to see a later shuttle run after 8 pm.

Hotel Equatorial proved to be an excellent choice during our recent visit to Ho Chi Minh City. We chose to stay in a executive club suite on the 10th floor. The benefits of this choice were well worth the extra few dollars when one considered all of the additional features of these rooms including access to club lounge, free coffee all day and free drinks and snacks of a night. The pool was a great way to cool off after a steamy day in the city. The hotel is not that far from District 1, $3 taxi fare or the hotel provides a free shuttle service. The staff were always extremely helpful, especially on the executive floors where they spoke particularly good English. I thought drinks and food in the restaurants was quite expensive but as we had an excellent breakfast provided and our evening drinks were free we didnt need anything else. All in all I thoroughly recommend this property

Lights didnt work in room. Had to get an engineer up in there. AC was cool not cold. Hotel was very nice. Pool was nice. Stay away from the pool bar way too expensive. Didnt eat at the restaraunt cause again to expensive and you would be a fool not to eat at the street cart vendors in vietnam or the hole in the wall places. Room was clean and the staff was pretty helpful. The tours at the hotel are to expensive so stay away. Also the hotel charged me a 100 dollar deposit when I got to the hotel. not sure why but they took it off when I left.

The Hotel Equatorial's club leve is quite nice and the service is very good. Wi-Fi is included, breakfast, cocktails, desserts, snacks--all in. Plus, two laundry items are also included per day and that helps to make folded shirts look crisp again. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I recommend it highly.

Had a lovely time at Hotel Equatoria - the hotel staff were helpful and friendly providing useful information about distance to tourist locations and things to go. There are shuttles every two hours taking guests to all the major attractions like Notre Dam, Ben Thanh market, Opera House, Reunification Palace which is really convenient. The shuttle also will pick you up and bring you back The single downside that the hotel is 7-15 minutes (fare is the price of two cans of coke) by cab to city centre (Ben Thanh, Notre Dam..etc) but we always took the free hotel shuttle :-) Room service and food overall was pretty good and value for money. The hotel is very clean and well maintained and I was very happy with the large room and its aminities. Would happily recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel lobby is rather dim rather than warm. The best part of the hotel lies in its room interior, however. Colors are elegant and soothing and the furnishing is excellent. There are, however, no bathroom accessories such as the razor, body lotion, and bath robe -which is also the case in many hotels nowadays. Sleeping comfort is excellent due to good quality sheets and the mattress. Food served in the restaurants are of very high quality and its presentation is always meticulous and pleasing. Although the hotel is popular, one hardly meets many guests at the same time- which is good. The swimming pool is also big enough for swimming and the water is safe. The area in which the hotel is located is quiet, and the hotel porters/guards ensure that guests who board their taxis record the numbers of the taxis. Laundry is reasonably priced and so are the spa treatments at the hotel. Its free shuttle bus does not only stop at a few stops; it takes guests to several popular stops such as District 1, the Diamond Plaza and another business area.

The only thing i appreciate of the hotel is the room, very nice, clean and spacial. The price of the food and beverage outlets, the location of the hotel and not offering free wifi in room or at least in the lobby are the main disadvantages of this hotel. This is Vietnam but not New York! How could the price of the food and the drinks are so expensive? Also the location of the hotel is far away from the city center. by walk to the main attraction areas it takes around 1 or 1.5 hrs, by taxi it takes about 5-10 mins. (but it is very common to stuck in a traffic jam in ho chi minh).

This hotel is really fancy, has nice rooms and large gym. Pool is nice with pool side bar. Well shielded from the street noice. Large firm bed. I got discounted price for 3 nights booking and took up the offer. Very happy over all. Hotel doesn't have free internet. Just walk around to Tran Phu street on the other side for an internet station. Hotel food was so expensive ($100/person buffet) that most of the time i just took taxi to town center or taxi to Nguyen Trai street where they have many great restaurants such as Tan Hai Van (chineses), Din Ky (not at all dinky), and other breakfast cafe Rita on Nguyen Van Cu, SOHO on Nguyen Thi Minh Khai. Taxi to town is cheap.

My partner and I stayed three nights at the Equatorial Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City in November 2009. It was almost exactly what we expected, based on the photos and descriptions online. I chose it mainly for its beautiful swimming pool , open daily from 6AM to 10PM, which really does look just like the photos. Oddly, it doesn’t seem to get much use. The front desk, pool, restaurant, and door staff all speak English fluently. The concierge was helpful and knowledgeable, except regarding the city bus. The location is actually not bad: It takes about 20 minutes to walk from there to the Reunification Palace. Food vendors in a small park two blocks along the road provide an inexpensive option for breakfast, although the USD 15 buffet in the hotel restaurant is quite impressive. Other than the relatively high price, the only major drawback is the lack of complimentary internet access. Most hotels offer free WiFi in the room, or at least, in the lobby, but this one charges USD 6 per hour or 16 per day, which is outrageous. Also, there is a dearth of internet cafes, convenience stores, and other traveler-related services in the immediate area. And finally, while the air-conditioning worked very well, the room had a faint odour of mildew. This hotel was a very nice place to crash after a long flight from the US, since its international standards allowed us to put off dealing with culture shock until the next morning. It is an okay place to stay if you can get it at a discount (or if someone else is paying for it) and you don’t care about internet access; otherwise, you might do better staying somewhere else.

Der var ikke mange gæster, men virkelig god mad - en af de bedste restauranter i HCMC, med levende fisk og skaldyr. Hotellet er fint og billigt pga dårlig beliggenhed, 15 min med taxa fra de gode kvarterer.

Vi var svært fornøyde med hotellrom og bassengområde. Hotellet ligger et stykke fra sentrum og i et område der det ferdes svært få turister. Rett i nærheten var en middels bra restaurant. Ellers spiste vi sammen med lokalbefolkningen på fortauskafeer og fikk prøvd mye forskjellig mat. Vi satte pris på at hotellet hadde buss til og fra sentrum. Den billigste drosja vi tok, var med taxameter. Dette var det eneste hotellet vi bodde på som tok betalt for internettjenester.

Et meget flott hotell med god beliggenhet. Flott svømmeområde med jaccuzi, steambadstu og vanlig badstu i tillegg til treningsstudio. Flott internasjonal frokost. Meget vennlige og effektive ansatte. I nærområdet er det mange lokale restauranter som brukes av innbyggerne. Billig og god mat, Et hotell jeg gjerne abefaler.

Das Hotel liegt nicht direkt im (historischen) Stadtzentrum. Dieses ist aber mit dem (kostenlosen) Hotelbus oder mit Taxis leicht zu erreichen. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist ausgezeichnet. Zudem ist der Swimmingpool auf dem 4. Stockwerk für ein Stadthotel von beachtlicher Grösse, wo man sich auch von der Stadtbesichtigung / Einkäufen perfekt erholen kann.

시설이나 편안함은 뒤지지 않았으나, 조식이 조금은 메뉴구성에서 부족하였고, 위치상으로 시내와 조금떨어진 지역이라 불편한 점이 조금있슴.

妻、息子、義母とクラブフロア（１１階）の部屋に宿泊。リノベーションしたばかりの同フロアは清潔で、フロアでの朝食も毎日メニューが変わり充実していました。バーや子供用プールも付属する屋外のプールは十分に大きく、スパのマッサージ等もお手頃価格です。市の中心部ではありませんが、中心部のドンコイ通りまででもタクシーで４万VND（１６０円くらい）程度なので余り気にはなりませんでした。何より、スタッフのサービスの質が高かったのが好印象です。

市街中心部から数キロ離れた場所に立地するエクアトリアル。 夜の繁華街を徘徊したい方にはお勧めできないが、落ち着いたホテルライフを愉しみたい方にはうってつけだ。 市街に比べて落ち着いているし、プールやジムそれにスパなどの設備が整っているし、部屋は快適だし、近所にそれなりのレストランはあるし。 繁華街から離れているとはいえ、タクシーで高々300円程度の距離だ。立地に関しては全く不自由を感じなかった。また、宿泊料金もリーズナブルだ。 唯一、周辺にコンビニが少ないことだけが、冷えたビールを安く飲みたい小生としては、難儀だった。

４月１日に帰国前日の１泊のみ利用。空港への時間が中心部より懸からない・・を信じたのですが中心部より実際は時間金額も多めでした。ホテルシャトルバスは１台しかなく利用者が多いとタクシーを使うはめになります。 レストランも高くホテル周辺の気のきいた飲食店もありませんしここ見止まるメリットは特にないように思いました。 良い点を挙げるのであれば、こちらの日本人スタッフの女性が気持ちの良い応対でした。問題処理能力もあり 何かと親切でした。語学力がなく一人旅の方にはおすすめです。

Bon hotel mais loin de du centre(malgré les navettes gratuites proposées par l'hotel). Internet est a accès payant...quand dans tout les autres hotels, internet est gratuit !!! Petit déjeuner tres cher et rien autour de l'hotel !
