Other than the water shower pressure is weak in my room (210), the overall stay is superb!

Super location, steps to cable cars and a short walk to Chinatown. Our room was spacious and clean. Because it was at the rear, the view was to an adjacent roof, but was quiet at night likely for that reason. Staff are friendly and helpful. Our one knock was the hotel restaraunt where the service was very slow. It has only limited hours and was vertially emply even then. Not a real issue as there are plenty of great eating places nearby. We would stay there again gladly.

The hotel is located close to Union Square and just steps from the Powell Street cable car lines. The room was large, clean and well furnished. The staff were friendly and helpful. There are several restaurants in the area.

The staff at the Orchard Hotel was fantastic, the room was very clean.The hotel is centrally located. If we ever go back to San Francisco we would stay there. Union square needs to clean up the beggars, that was the only issue we had on our vacation

My husband was in town on business for a week and I accompanied him. We loved the hotel. Our only complaint was the internet service. The speed of connection was pretty awful (slow) most of the time despite the fact that the hotel staff said it had just upgraded its service.

The Orchard is a value packed hotel. The staff was very helpful and attentive. The room was very clean and quiet. The close proximity to Union Square makes this hotel ideal. The comlimentary WiFi was most welcomed. A wide selection of channels on TV, but the TV was an old CRT type - not a big deal. Overall this hotel is a gem.

Everything was as promised in the hotel description. The hotel was conveniently located a few blocks from everything we needed (Chinatown, Powell Street) and hotel staff were friendly and helpful in getting a few "out-of-towners" to the hotspots.

I had a good stay at this hotel. Staff was helpful. Room was nice. I'll go back.

Had a great stay except for, we were on the 10th floor and the hot water took about 8 minutes to reach our room. My son was on the 5th floor and he had no problems with the hot water. And the windows didn't open.

Centrally located along Powel St. at a cable car stop that can take you down to Mission or up to Fisherman's warf. Large room and bathroom, unlike most older hotels.

We really liked the Orchard Hotel-- the staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful, the location was convenient to Union Square and to the theaters, and the hotel works hard to be 'green' as well. The one "off note" was that it could use a bit of detail work-- fixing the bathroom grout would be nice, for example. But overall, a nice experience, and we'd go there again.

We have always had an excellent stay. Great staff. The doorman in particular both day and evening. However it is time to upgrade your TV's. The font desk staff was accommodating when I requested an upgrade.

hotel is well located to public transportation, quiet and clean. Hotel staff was helpful and courteous.

Decided to party on New years Eve and wanted to stay in a central location where we could walk to our destination. We lucked up on a room at the Orchard Hotel jus a few blocks from our party. The Hotel room was spacious, clean and had a great "San Francisco" feel to it, with it's furnishings. Also had great customer service. I usually prefer large scale resorts but would definitely come again for an overnight fun filled evening.

My wife & I just spent three days at the Orchard Hotel and we were extremely pleased with with the room, the hotel and the location. Our room was lovely and clean. The location is amazing. Just blocks from Union Square and China Town and the corner is a cable car stop. The staff is friendly & helpful. Really not much more to say except, try it, you will love it.

Great location for Union Square area. Lots of places to eat/drink. View from our room was disappointing. The bed was super comfy. The hotel was very quiet and we heard no outside traffic. Staff were very sweet.

Tlhe location of this hotel is perfect for anyone who wants to explore the SF area. Chinatown and Union Square are an easy walk. Within six blocks, you can catch the Bart, cable car, trolley and/or bus to most any scenic location. The only negative I have about the hotel is possible street noise, depending upon the location on one's room. For the money, though, you cannot beat this hotel.

Excellent location with the cable car right on the doorstep (it's literally just around the corner). It's within walking distance of union square (i recommend taking the cable car back to the hotel, it's a steep climb uphill!). Beds are comfy and room nice,clean and spacious!

Could not fault anything about this hotel we would always stay here when visiting San Fran

It was so nice to have such large rooms and especially in the bathroom! The location was fabulous -walking distance from Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf, downtown shopping, etc. The staff was very friendly and we enjoyed very comfortable and quiet nights there. I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again!

Excellent hotel in good location close to shopping and transport

This hotel has everything going for it except for ownership. During our last day in San Francisco, the hotel began remodeling work in the dining room. unfortunately, the work continued well past 10:00 pm and only slowed down because of the numerous complaints from guest trying to sleep - the only real reason for a hotel room. Other guests and i were basically told we were unwelcome at the hotel by a woman later described to me as one of the owners of the hotel. Work did continue as i heard it until at least 3:00 am - although much toned down from the hammering that had gone on before. for someone in the hospitality business to not even apologize for the noise is totally unacceptable. although our room was on the second floor, others were disturbed who were on the seventh floor.

I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again the next time I'm in San Francisco. The room was lovely and spacious. It had a very comfortable bed with high thread-count sheets and a down comforter. The bathroom was sparkling clean and large with great towels. The location couldn't have been more convenient - close to everything you'd want to see as a tourist. The staff was pleasant and very helpful.

The hotel was very nice. The room was large and the bathroom was big compared to most hotels. Cornell was very nice and gave great directions to everything we needed.

1st time visiting San Francisco... This hotel was the great place to stay in... Early check in and great location . Very helpful staff... Will be back in SF next year and already booked my hotel at Orchard Hotel!

I booked this hotel for a little get away I had planned for my wife and I. The hotel was beautiful and the rooms were very comfortable. We had a great time walking around the surrounding area and there were some great places to eat! I would definetly recommend this place to anyone and we will be going back.

This smaller hotel was perfect for our weekend in San Francisco. The room was larger than most hotel rooms in the city. The staff was very friendly and gave good suggestions on food and gettIng around. We would stay at the Orchard again in a heartbeat.

Great value to stay in San Francisco. We booked months in advance through Hotels.com and got a great rate. When I was at the front desk using their internet service I heard the clerk turning people away at twice what we paid. (no vacancy) You don't come to SF to sit in your room. The rooms are nice and the hotel is centrally located.

We had been staying at hotels in the same price range and enjoyed so much less. At the Orchard the rooms are exceptionally large, spotlessly clean, and staffed by gracious individuals who go out of their way to be helpful. And the price was exceptionally reasonable. The four of us who booked two rooms will definitely return to this hotel in all our future trips to San Francisco.

2 blocks from trolly stop, very close to china town. Front desk was very helpful. Good hotel...I was a little dissapointed there was not pool/hot tub but other than that a good place to stay. Hotel restaurant was very good.

Had a nice 3 night stay at The Orchard... Nohthing totally upscale here but a great great place to stay in San Francisco.. Clean rooms and good location are the key and they have them both..
