Convenient for a one night stay after a concert in a walking distance venue. I wouldn't stay here again. Shower had mold in it. The hotel had a musty odor. Outdated and stale environment.

..... you're paying top-shelf solely for convenience!...being next to bowling center is the only PLUS we found!...lousy food,average rooms!...friendly staff tried their best!

We stayed there during a recent Mardi GRas Parade. Great places to stand outside, then my family watched the remaining from their room window. Convenient & clean

There were only a coupld of issues I need to complain about and one is the bathroom sink and tub were clogged. Also, there were some kind of food crumbs on the foot stool. Otherwise it was a great view and location for my visit.

To say the least I was disappointed in my stay at The Belle of Baton Rogue. Based on the hotel website and information provided I thought I was getting a very nice upscale hotel and room. Instead it was a very dated room with old outdated furniture, the carpet and bed linens were dated and the bathroom was so small, to close the door you had to work your way around the toilet. It also only had 1 sink in the bathroom and they gave you plastic cups to use for your enjoyment. That was very classy. Beware of the 'free" breakfast. What you receive are 4 coupons only for breakfast, no matter the length of your stay, no matter how many people are in your room. So if there are 4 people in your room and you are there for 2 nights, well... you only get breakfast free 1 morning.... tough luck the other morning. I will say the food was good southern grub through. The only other positive note was the hotel was very close to the LSU campus, and that is why I reserved it.

Hotel was very clean and rooms were adequate. Was dissappointed in the restraunts and the casino. But never having been to Lousianna to gamble before, maybe I was expecting more of a Vegas atmosphere. Overall we had a good stay and would recommend the hotel to anyone who wants to visit Baton Rouge.

Hotel was a great location. However the restaurant has limited menu. The beds were the worst I have seen in long time. The water was always cold and would have to run for twenty minutes before able to take a warm shower.

We had previously stated here when it was a Sheraton. It's gone down hill since then. I would rate it a 3 star. The upkeep had gone down. The common areas were not as clean. The service was average. Had to wait 5 minutes at front desk before someone showed up for check in. No car valet service.

The staff there were very friendly and attentive. The room was fine. . . Reasonably clean. The only issue was low water pressure in the shower. Otherwise, would stay there again!

I booked my room here when the hotel with our "block" of convention rate rooms nearby was gone. The Belle appears to be on the upswing in terms of being renovated, but my bed was really worn to the point of sleeping in the middle and being careful about rolling to either side for fear of being bucked out of the bed. While it's convenient to be able to turn off/on the shower, sink or open/close the door, and almost reach the light switch all from thinking chair position on the toilet (I'm a little under 6ft tall, not like 7'-4")... that was the most cramped restroom I've been in for quite some time. Nice water pressure though in the shower head! The room key gated parking lot was SWEET. There's a LOT to do and see in this neighborhood, so it was really a crash pad for me. AWESOME Lounging Chair in the room. I'd probably recommend the Belle, but more like a 3rd choice than a 1st in this neighborhood. I've averaged nicer rooms for 30% less within a 10 minute drive of this area.

Even though they originally gave us a room with no beds (seriously), they upgraded us. The rooms were fine, bed comfy, and it's walking distance from downtown. And attached to the casino! And contrary to some of the reviews, it's not that far! Holy people it's like a 5 minute walk, INDOORS to get to the casino!

I like the property better was it was run by the Sheraton...

Don't let the reviews about the hotel's surroundings scare you off. I was a little apprehensive but once we got there it was great. My only negative is the casino was under remodel so only one level was open which made very crowded. Other than that, it was outstanding. Will defenitely stay again. BTW: the food at Shucks on the Levee is incredible and very reasonable.

The entire staff was friendly and courteous. They were very responsive to our requests. The room was comfortable and clean. The shower was great. The beds were only fairly comfortable - my sheets kept coming off the bed - but that would not keep me from going back. Breakfast was great and a cozy little bar with great bartenders was always there waiting. Best of all the price was RIGHT!

The bed was super hard and the pillows were terrible! Too flat! Not the greatest casino hotel we stayed at. Casino was dead and on a weekend even. The complimentary buffet breakfast in the downstair restaurant was very good. The dinner menu there although was very limited.

Staying at this hotel was a horrible experience. First, I stayed only because it has been previously a Sheraton. I am familiar with the quality of Sheraton hotels. This was far from a Sheraton. Upon arrival to the room, the carpet was dirty, had a number of spots, had not been vacuumed--I contacted the Housekeeping supervisior who said that the carpet would be shampooed the next day--and it was not done and when I tried to contact her the Saturday night, she did not accept my call; the curtain at the window was hanging; the door mirrow was off track; the security lock on the door was broken; the light switch on the wall near the bed had to be turned off by unscrewing the light bulb---switch was broken; after taking a bath, the water would not drain---had to call for maintenance to come and unplug the drain; the iron did not wok---got another iron from Housekeeping and it had burned-on residue on it that was transferred to the white shirt I was ironing, and no parking when I returned to the hotel the first evening.

Overall the hotel was fine. However, my expectations were a tad higher based on the rate we paid, but still it was okay. As for recommendations, my friends and relatives are very picky and would find something negative to say about it because it isn't a "Brand" hotel or in best location. That being said-we, personally, enjoyed our stay. Service was very good and the people were extremely kind and personable. We would not hesitate to stay in your hotel again--especially if the rate were slightly lower, as I chose this location over another "Brand" hotel--which offered the same rate and I think I would have received a larger room and probably a better free breakfast. (But still, the breakfast at the Belle was okay--no fruit offered though.) Again, as a cost comparison, I think my overall expectations were higher, so my lower ratings is based on the $$ I paid for the room.

Stayed Friday and Saturday for LSU game. Paid way too much for these 2 nights. Upstairs hallway smelled liked mold and mildew. Tiny room and very tiny bathroom. On Saturday we got NO maid service! Beds not made, no clean towels. I complained at check out and got "I'm sorry." I intend to contact the manger about that. We had free breakfast coupons but the food and service in the restaurant were terrible. The best thing about this hotel was the valet service. Those young men were great. Will NOT stay here again.

This Hotel doubled charge me after paying with Expedia. I was charged twice the price. I even called on Monday morning to resolve the problem from accounting and I did not receive a call.

The Belle of Baton is ok for one night or two if you are planning to gamble. However, it is a long walk from the hotel to the casino. It is clean. The room and bathroom are very clean and agreable.

I was not happy with this hotel, it was very small for the price. We did not receive the FREE breakfast for all of my guest that stayed in room. I was only given two coupons for the free breakfast after I had to go back up the counter to get them, while eating breakfast. I had 3 adults and one child in my party in which I put on the reservation. Over all I would most likely not stay there every again.

This hotel provides a great room at a great price. The lady from room service even brought me bandaids for my blister! Great service A+

I like this hotel. I say that simply because I can't think of a single thing they could have done to better my stay. I give four stars instead of five because I can't think of anything they did really good either. Just goes to show-sometimes its okay to be good enough. Also, like the proximity to night life around 4th street.

Room was clean and comfortable. Great view of tiger stadium and mississippi river. only negative is size of bathroom very small.

Few bugs in the stay like brand new coffee pot malfunction, door key malfunction but if you want to stay downtown The Belle has a good rate and friendly staff. Average place overall.

I was disappointed. The air conditioner was not working that great. The bathroom was tiny and the hotel overall was old and kinda run down. The breakfast buffet was just OK. The staff in the restaurant was lazy and not very helpful. Valet was fast, I will give them that. Overall it was not a great experience. I can certainly understand now why it is the cheapest hotel in the area.
