Loved the hotel. Plan on staying again in a year when we celebrate our first anniversary.

Terrific place and staff!

The hotel is very close to many things to do and see. The staff couldn't be nicer.Loved the city !

Such friendly people and a beautiful hotel. The only thing that was missing were restaurants/bars close by.

This hotel is really nice, I would highly recomend it if you are staying in the twin cities.

the hotel had everything you need and it is in a very convenient location. more than i expected for the money.

Wonderful hotel. Fun and funky with a terrific water park IN the hotels lower level, right by the river with the bike path etc. Clean and comfortable, and quite reasonable. A gem. Highly recommend and will use it again when back to Minneapolis!

Seemed to be close to everything I was looking for. The staff was friendly and helpful from valet to bartenders. I'd stay here again. The only not so good thing is they do not have free internet in the rooms- it's $9.95 and overnight valet parking is $28. So keep that in mind.

We go to Minneapolis often, as this is our second child at the University of Minnesota. Although this location is not as convenient for U activities, we will definately stay here again. It is a great value for the money and is a unique building.

My one complaint is that the room my husband and i stayed in was only equipped for one. They gave us only one set of towels and one package of caffeinated coffee.

The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed.. we did not want to pay 9.99 xtra for the internet connection.. We did not like the hotel dining room. service was slow and the food did not come out hot.. Waitress needs more training..

Since the hotel is connected to the Water Park, there are tons of family that stay at the hotel. Be prepared for families of all ages roaming the halls at all hours of the day. Hotel management was gracious enough to change our room to a quieter floor, but we still would not stay here in the future because we don't have kids.

The Depot Renaissance is a great hotel right in downtown Minneapolis. It's a moderately short walk from the Govt. Plaza train stop(about 4-5 blocks) and a bit of a longer walk to the nightlife of Hennepin and 1st Ave., and taxi rides are 7-10 dollars to get around the downtown area. The hotel itself is in good shape, as are the retro rooms. Parking is on site and is reasonably priced (per day), and there are restaurants across from the lobby. I recommend the breakfast buffets at one of the restaurants. There is a family oriented waterpark at the hotel, but there is a charge for hotel guests. Concierge lounge is closed on weekends, which is a big disappointment as I am a frequent traveler...There is no ice machine on the first floor (where I was staying) so you'll have to ask for ice at the restaurants.I also saw lots of familes at the hotel, which equals lots of children and a considerable amount of noise at certain times of the day. There are a couple other hotels that are a little better and closer to the nighlife, but if you get a good rate this isn't a bad choice.

The atmosphere is a bit hectic with the different events going on in the conference rooms. We unfortunately had a room on the first floor which I would not recommend unless you have young children who will be using the pool/waterpark. Even though our room was right next to the pool entrance, though, it was very quiet once inside. There is no real lobby to speak of - just a seating area attached to the bar. The hotel location is very nice - close to the light rail, downtown, the library, and the river.

I prefer staying in unique hotels that are not carbon copies of hotels in other locations. This is a great, old, solid building with a great history. Nicely re-done with tasteful railroad references throughout. Very friendly staff - great room and very comfortable bed. Would definitely stay here again.

We found the Depot Renaissance Hotel quite by chance, and we're glad we did. One, it's a beautiful property, filled with reminders of the days when this location housed an actual passenger train depot. Secondly, it's a great location in downtown Minneapolis, close to everything. We felt we got excellent value for our money, too. We will definitly stay here again in the near future.

great location, very convenient, relatively cheap parking, clean, very helpful staff. only negative was the the room was a little small.

Very nice staff and accomodations all the way around.

I booked the room as a mini stay-cation to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. We ate at Charley's grill- My boyfriend enjoyed the walleye. I ordered a $2610oz prime rib...of which only 2 oz was actual meat. The rest was fat and gristle. And for $26 I had hoped for more than three tiny baby red potatos. I just was not impressed with the meal. Our room was beautiful, huge comfy bed! It was however, freeeeeezing! I had to bump the temp to 80 just to feel comfortable. I was a little dissappointed in the fact that their were NO curtains in the room! Just wood slat blinds. So as soon as the sun came up I was wide awake. The waterpark being directly above our room did not help that either...it ws a bummer. I would stay again...but not eat at Charley's...at least not the prime rib; and make sure that my room is no where near that waterpark.

Choose this hotel because it was the host hotel for the Minneapolis Marathon in June 2010. Did not have the opportunity to shop or dine out. We checked in on Saturday, ran the Marathon on Sunday, and checked out Monday morning. The riverwalk/bike trail is just a couple of blocks away and is very pretty. Did spend Sunday evening in the Stone Arch Bar. The bartender was OUTSTANDING in his attention to customers. He greeted several guests (they were frequent business travelers) by their name. The only disappointment was that the hot tub is in the water park, which closes at 3pm on Sundays. Very nice rooms and bathrooms, the beds are great, nice room darkening pull-down shade, and extremely courteous staff. There is a daily parking fee added to bill at check-out.

Not used to paying parking at a hotel, it $15.00/night with in/out privleges. The Breakfast Buffet $15.00 with made to order omlette. I'd expect to pay that or more in Chicago or New York, but not Minneapolis. But maybe that's just me. All in All the facility is top notch.

The bathroom could use a little update--but everything else was great. Very comfy bed, and very clean room, and quite even though there were 3 young children in the next room, you could not hear a sound.

The service was exemplary....courteous, helpful, friendly. From the valets, to the bellhop, servers, desk staff, etc. Beautiful hotel...wonderful ambiance. A wonderful night, for a wonderful price. We would definitely stay there again.

The bed was very comfortable and the room was nice. The service was good other than a slight mistake with my bill upon check out, which was promptly fixed.

We enjoyed al the Milwaukee Railroad memoribilia...my father-in-law worked for the Milwaukee Road for 50 years in the Chicago area..The service, cleanliness, and the modern rooms were first-rate.

I have to say my experience at The Depot is the best one I've had so far with any place that I have stayed. Every employee there made you feel welcomed and they were all in good spirits, and that meant a lot especially since that was a day everyone was converging on the cities due to the Viking/Packer football game that night and they were very busy. I plan on staying at The Depot again in the future and will recommend it to everyone.

The hotel itself was gorgeous when first walking in. However, once we got into our room (after having to walk to the front desk a second time to get a key that actually worked), we walked into a room that had not been clean; it looked as though someone had been in one of the beds, there was garbage in the garbage cans, used soap, and some personal belongings from the previous guests that had not been cleaned up. They did apologize and gave us a new room, but for the price we paid, we shouldn't have had to do that. When we went to eat in the hotel restaurant, we waited 20 minutes for a water because our waitress was too busy flirting with the guys at the bar.

Clean comfortable hotel with interesting history. Nice climate control in room. Comfortable bed. Excellent service.

The Depot was centrally located and well maintained. It offered a variety of activities and was very comfortable.

Beautiful room in an up and coming area. Very comfortable. Only downside, no mini-fridge.

The hotel is fine and the staff very service oriented. It was a great stay. The location isn't great, depending upon where you need to go downtown. It's a 10-15 minute walk to the IDS Bldg and the Warehouse district. Or, about the same over the bridge (over the Mississippi) to the St. Anthony's area. But the area withing 2-3 blocks of the hotel is not very nice.

Found this Hotel to be very well maintained and in a great location for our needs. Room service was fast and dining at the hotel was very good. The price was well worth it. We've found a new home in MPLS. Keep up the great work.

We stayed here for a wedding which took place in the hotel as well. I have no complaints except that it seems that "Non Smoking" means "no one actively smoking in the room while you're there", because the smoke smell hit me in the face when I walked in the room. Otherwise, the room was nice, the staff was courteous, and the bed was incredibly comfy.

I loved the comfort of the bed and the condition of the room. I also was really impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, which was great because I am not familiar with the area. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

This hotel only had one flaw and that was you need to pay $15 to park for a day. I think that parking should be free. Other than that the stay was great.

Leider hat das Hotel nicht gehalten, was die Bilder versprachen. Das Hotel ist von Außen sehr schön und die Damen am Empfang auch sehr nett. Das Zimmer ist mit in die Jahre gekommenen Möbeln ausgestatten die einen staubigen Geruch verbreiten. Sowohl Teppich als auch Couch laden nicht zum Entspannen ein.
