The hotel is beautiful - materialistic decor which contrasts the surrounding Old City neighborhood. The room was clean, spacious and welcoming. Turn down service nightly included delicious chocolates and a weather report for the next day. The only negative about the room was the layout which was a little awkward. The table/desk was smack in the center of the room and the tv was tucked low into a corner so that you couldn't watch tv unless sitting straight up in bed. But you're not in Montreal to watch TV anyway and this hotel was a great location to explore the city. Keep in mind that the hotel borders the downtown neighborhood by Victoria Square that seemed pretty dead after the workers bees went home for the weekend --- we couldn't even find an open coffee shop easily on a Sunday. Overall, great hotel, nice location!

It is in "vieux Montreal" but has a mix of old and new buildings. It is close to the Science Museum and to both the Metro system and a short walk to Downtown. The breakfast was adequate. The staff was helpful and cordial.

This was an excellent hotel, in a convenent location for the old town, shopping, Bell Center etc. There are some really nice restaurants very close by. A couple of minor points: some of the staff were not very friendly, the drinks we had from room service were not nice and one of the light switcheds was covered in something sticky and horrible. Having said that we enjoyed our stay in this hotl and would recommend it.

We've tried the St-Paul hotel for our 3 years anniversary, it is well situated and my girlfriend had seen it on a TV show. We came in early (3 pm) and the bathroom really didn't smelled good. When left later and when we came back, we had some small box of chocolate on our bed and the bathroom smelled better. It's good that they fixed that problem without us having to tell the reception about it, but it's a bit weird that they came in while we were gone. I would generally have hoped for something better for this hotel, the rooms are small and the bed was hard. Would try somewhere else next time and wouldn't recommend it to my friends.

The hotel is not easy to locate as thecsign is very small. The valet service was non existent upon check in and there wasn't anywhere in the front of the hotel to park. We parked down the street and brought our suitcases in. There was a line up and still no valet. Once we checked in we inquired about valet service and the front desk agent called the valet to come assist us. Parking is outside in a secure parking lot. We got to our room which was a little on the small size but sufficient for our needs. I noticed the floor hadn't been vacuumed and then I noticed the smell in the bathroom...sewer! I called the front desk and they would have switched our room but we had already unpacked and had dinner reservations to get to so they said they would comeup and put water down the drain. That seemed to do the trick. The room was not cleaned properly the following 2 days andon the 3rd day I called to complain. They sent a very angry cleaning lady up and she glared at me when asking what needed to be done. I asked if the tub could be cleaned because I wanted to have a bath and that was all I asked to be done at that time since we needed to rest before dinner. I didn't bother to mention the robe that had dried up stains from who knows what on it hanging there apparently ready for our use. Thanks, but no thanks. I would not stay there again since there are so many other options. It isn't a bad spot, just not what I expected to have to deal with for the class and cost of the room. The style and location where fabulous. It was just dirty.

Great location conveniently located within the Old Montreal area. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Only complaint was a less than desirable breakfast service. Would stay again.

I recently spent my 20th wedding anniversary at the St. Paul in Montreal and enjoyed every minute. The hotel's location is ideal, as it is in the old section on St. Paul St which is lined with excellent restaurants. The hotel's decor is very Euro-modern and contrasts nicely with the old architecture on the exterior. The room (standard king) was very clean, roomy, and supplied with conveniences like a safe, mini-bar and coffee. The bed rates as one of the most comfortable I've experienced, with down pillows and comforter. We hardly heard another guest the entire long weekend. If you are looking for a special hotel in the old port area, I recommend St. Paul.

Our second time at this hotel and again the experience was wonderful. Excellent staff and room, bar was superb, getting around the area either by foot or by driving was quite easy. The area is geared more for the business minded, but plenty to walk around and see or easy enough to get out and drive around Montreal. Stay here if you can.

We had a fine stay (only 2 days) but then we got our car back. The front fender had been damaged and stuff was missing out of our car. We paid to have it put in a safe ($25 a day!) and it wasn't. As a result of this we got lame apologies and promises from the staff that they would review the security tapes to see what happened. We waited patiently (a week) for them to get back to us about what they found on the tapes but have heard nothing at all in two weeks after repeated e-mails. I'm incredibly displeased with this. I can't express how violated we feel about this whole thing and while Montreal itself was beautiful, this has left us with a distaste for the entire area.

Great location, close to Old Montreal. No complaints about the room, it was fine and suited our needs though we did look on to an air-shaft. However, for a pricy hotel, the service was invisible: Hardly any help with our luggage and nobody on the door when we came and went, which at times made it difficult as we had luggage plus two dogs in tow.

Such a cool hotel, great location, superb accommodations, gracious incredibly helpful staff, lovely comfy rooms, even my 14 yr olds loved it especially the yummy breakfasts!

The hotel was clean and located near the old part of Montreal which was very convenient.

The decor is pleasantly modern, but I found the dark hallways with their seedy red lights to be off-putting. Perhaps nice for a swinger couple, but not for someone who wants a welcoming environ after a long flight. The bathroom and bedroom were filthy. I first noticed grime on the bathroom door nob, then noticed that the bathroom walls were splattered with something - can't tell what. The headboard for the bed had a thick layer of dust on top. The television didn't work (though the fixit guys were quick).

This hotel was in a great location for exploring the Old Port area, and also just 2 blocks from a Metro (subway) station.

Location is great, old Montreal is now the spot for great dining and best clubs. The Club and dinning in the Hotel is also great. Thursday are very busy with great DJ'S and a crowd over 25 of age. Being at the hotel you dont do the big line up to get in the club, the palce is popular so there is one. Its a very hot spot in Montreal. Rooms are very clean and bathroom is real cool. But the room I got was small for the price compared to lots of other hotels in Old Montreal. They do have mini bar and flat screen. Its a great hotel if you are out on the town to go out and have fun, if your staying a full week, room was a bit to small for my taste. Its like New York, but no reason too, were in Montreal, theres plenty of Hotels with lots of room. By the way, even if the club is rocking downstairs, you dont here a sound in your room.

modern, clean, great continental breakfast (free, ignore what your print out says)

Wonderful stay. Great location, comfortable, quiet, well appointed room. Free breakfast and friendly staff. Love the clean modern decor in a beautiful building with Old Montreal architecture. Proximity, walking distance to restaurants, shops and sites as well as Jazz Fest venues was most enjoyable.

The room was not supposed to have a view as Hotels.com had a preferential rate but there was an excellent view of the old port of Montreal. A complimentary breakfast was an unexpected plus. The dramatic modern lines of the room contracted with the rooftops of old Montreal. Overall a very enjoyable stay

We had to valet park for $20/day. Delicious continental breakfast was included, and internet access in the room as well. There is a fax machine and coffee pot in the room - even provide umbrella which is hanging in the closet along with hangers, iron & board. The bathroom features a shower & tub (hair dryer) We arrived during the time of the Jazz Festival (awesome). The hotel was close enough to walk to the downtown area. The hotel also features a night club (a bit loud when you walk into the front desk area)I would definitely stay there again.

Hôtel absolument splendide, décoration très étudiée, de grande qualité, travail sur les ambiances (lumière) remarquable, très bon accueil. Et de la musique douce dans la chambre à notre arrivée. Bien placé dans Montréal. Un très beau souvenir!
