Nice place for the price. Right off the freeway, easy to get to. Room as expected for the price, clean and with all amenities as promised. Breakfast is included and except for weak coffee was a good start for our day - simple but enough. No ice machine, just have to ask at the front desk and they fill up your bucket.

The toilet did not work. I was charged twice for the safe and the housekeeping was banging on the door even though I had a do not disturb sign. The front desk had personal visitors standing around while I was doing business. Not a great hotel

The hotel is located near the trolly line which runs into downtown San Diego, which is great for those who do not have a car, but the train whistle can be noisy at times, luckily though I did not hear it too much at night. However, any time another person who was staying at the hotel closed their door, the walls shook and it sounded like someone was trying to enter our room, so it was not very relaxing to be there.

Nice room, looked recently renovated. The room, and other areas of the hotel, were kept clean. Included breakfast was good. Located very close to fwy on ramp. Good value for money.

For the price I paid, the service and quality was above par. The housekeeping staff was always spot-on!

Don't stay here if you want good service, clean sheets and forced to pay for an in room safe that free in ever other hotel. I will never stay at this super 8 hotel again and probably will never stay at any super 8 hotel again.

Overall, I was impressed with this hotel: The room came with wi-fi internet, fridge, microwave and cable tv. The shower had great pressure and the water was HOT. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Not in the best neighborhood but no issues with security; site conveniently located in downtown National City and near I-5 ramp. For the price, you will definitely get a great deal for this hotel.

The front desk was friendly and helpful. The rooms were so so 2 of the lighting fixtures didn't work and had to get the bulbs replaced. The pillows were flat and the beds hard. The fridge/freezer combo was nice.

Overall, hotel was not in the best condition. Bedding was very old and the parking lot was extremly noisy (loud music, car alarms going off, people talking outside your door). The breakfast was also much to be desired. The location was great and very close to the Naval Base.

My boyfriend and I were very happy staying here. We had stayed at the Quality Inn just up the road (a little closer to the base), and it was okay, but it cost more and the cleaning crew never refilled our tissues or cups. At Super 8 we always had a freshly cleaned room and everything restocked. We were also able to extend our stay several times with no problem. Very friendly and professional service. :)

Beware, they will ask for a deposit when you check in plus an additional fee for the safe. It's pretty close to the naval base down there, so the neighborhood isn't as bad as the rest of the city. It's on the same street as the on ramp for the I-5 north, which makes the Gas Lamp District a quick 10 minute drive. Also, there are not any close by grocery stores, just liquor stores, fast food, and car dealerships. Pretty reasonably priced gas station on the same street as well. The rooms are also very small, but the beds are pretty big. Not much room to walk around and such, so it is a great place to stay if you don't plan on being in your room that much.

We stayed one night in this motel. I was quite happy when I found the room is clean. However, we can hear the street noise (car passing) all the time. And in my parent's room, there wasn't cups. The size of rooms and room rate are agreeable, so I still can recommend this motel.
