Your staff from bell hop to front desk -waiters -golf shop -consier-could not be any more friendly or helpful. Top shelf resort will see you again.

This is one terrific resort. The people were so friendly and helpful. Everybody there made a point to greet you. I would recommend this resort AND will be back to stay next time we go to Austin.

Our two-night stay at the Barton Creek Spa/Resort was fantastic overall. The only real issue was reserving through Hotels.com supposedly the bed size selected is merely a "preference" and completing your reservation does not entitle you to that size bed. (We ended up with 2 Queens instead of one King....but pushed them together!) Other than that, the service was superb, the massages were fantastic, the breakfast buffet was unbelievable.....We LOVED our stay!

My husband and I went here for a "night away" while he was home on leave from Afghanistan. This place was perfect. The staff was incredibly friendly. I can't wait to stay here again.

We had requested a king bed and got 2 queens. They did offer a suite at a discount but it was not enough of a discount. It wouldn't have cost them any money to upgrade us.

If you are looking for a respite from the urban chaos, this is the place to go. Tucked away in the rolling hills of Austin, this peaceful paradise awaits you. The grounds are beautiful and full of outdoor activities; hiking, tennis, golfing and swimming. The rooms are just as spacious as the great wide skys of Austin. The spa is surprisingly lacking for a hotel of this caliber. The staff borders on being unprofessional and the locker areas are not very conducive to relaxing. However, the rest of the hotel staff and food services make up for this unexpected oversight.

The hotel is located at very pretty location and the facility is good. But the people with the hotel are not very friendly. When I was in and out couple times, I felt I and my children were aliens to them. Because no one even greeted us or responded to our greetings. Their self parking lot was small and taken by their own valet parking too. I spent half an hour to find the spot for self parking in the night. And when I booked the senic room I didn't get the golf course view. I complained to the hotel and they only said sorry but doing nothing.

Nestled in the Austin hillsides, Barton Creek Resort is a great relaxing place to get away from it all. One of the cleanest hotels with friendly staff and plenty of amenities. I took advantage of an early morning stroll through the hotel property and was amazed to find such a country atmosphere right in the middle of Austin. Only minutes from downtown, this resort offers it all.

We stayed at this resort over Christmas. It's in a very upscale neighborhood surrounded by private golf courses. If you play golf, it's great. If you don't, it's likely to be quite boring, since it's quite a distance from downtown and Austin's other cool areas. The spa/health club is pretty nice. There are a couple very overpriced restaurants on the facility, but nothing else within a 15 min drive. Over Christmas, they did have a ice skating rink open, which was pretty fun. In sum, for golf for a country club atmosphere, it's great; otherwise, you might want to pick something more convenient.

Hospitable, warm and well-decorated for the holidays. Food and service were excellent. The golf courses are exceptional, but winter weather precluded play. A small, covered ice rink in the rear added to the wintry festivity of the season.

They had miniature golf. Which was enjoyable Getting close parking was a issue.

I only have a couple of complaints. They charge you for internet service, and the toilet paper is of the cheapest quality imaginable.

Its the best hotel I've stayed at in Austin. A modern, Victorian like casino hotel feel.

Very nice hotel overall with large comfortable rooms. Nice lounge just off the hotel lobby. Food and room service was good. Beautiful setting in West Austin. Pool and hot tub were not well maintained (at least when I was there). Leaf blowers were going outside my room at 8am.

You will need a car if you want to go places like downtown or shopping malls or other than resort restaurants. Great place to stay, peaceful and nice.

Very nice, but not real close to the city.I thought we would be closer to Barton Springs, but needed a car. A golf resort, and spa, would have liked to stay a few more days. We were suposed to get a room with a murphy bed, but got a beautiful room, with two beautiful, fluffy beds.Loved the room. Good value, nice resort.

The resort was everything you would hope for a luxury hotel to be. The only thing was the 1st room we had without a view had a high wall basically right outside the glass doors to the balcony. Fortunately the next night we were able to change to a room with a view for a minimal fee. Th whole atmosphere of the resort was very romantic.After we changed rooms we were in heaven. I have already raved about it to many people. I can't wait to go back again.

All was great, except for the shock I received when I arrived in the room with a balcony as I walked out to the balcony and found a very tall wall right smack in front of me. That was very disappointing especially because the rate of the room was quite high and getting a huge wall in front of me at the balcony was terrible. That I feel was unfair for what I paid. Guests should be aware of such things before they accept the reservation. It was disappointing. That is something I would share with anyone that plans to visit this place.

Barton Creek Resort was a complete suprise to us! The location in relation to Downtown Austin was fantastic, only a 15 minute drive! The service at the hotel was wonderful and the staff couldn't be nicer. Oh, did I mention their 4 fabulous golf courses...but golfers beware...these courses are not the easiest - but they are beautiful! We will for sure be going back!!!

The hotel is nice, but obviously aging. While the room was comfortable and had a nice view, I think it is terribly overpriced. Bottled water was $8.50 so needless to say we did not even eat there. It lacked amenities that I would have expected from a resort, like a small coffee maker and there no bathroom toiletries like shampoo, toothpaste, etc. For what we got, I would have been happier to save the money and stay at a Best Western.

If it makes sense, my wife and I had a terrible experience at a great hotel/resort. The hotel itself was quite nice. Good surroundings, food, atmosphere, and amedities. However, our trip started off with a 3-hour delayed check-in with no compensation offered. When we first arrived we were told the wait would be just 30 minutes to an hour so we sat and waited. 3 hours later, we finally got our room. When we asked to speak to a supervisor/manager, we were told one was not available. Later on that night, we noticed that there was a big stain on the sheets in the middle of the bed. These are not experiences I expect at a 4-star hotel! When the first day's fiasco was over we had a pretty good time but the 3-hour delay pretty much wasted an entire day for us. I'm sorry to say we will not be returning to this hotel/resort and would not recommend this place to anyone.

Hotel/resort beginning to show its age. Staff very nice, but issues, e.g., had to replace door cards 3x (& walk all the way back to front desk) before someone sent maintenance to reprogram door. No consideration or accommodation offered for my inconvenience (nor did I ask - just wanted to see if staff thought of it on there own). More directly, beds were dated - mine had a dip in the middle (i.e., from use over time). My "balcony / hills view" room had a 6-7' wall as the balcony wall. If one stood on a chair, one could see over the wall to see the view. All that said, would recommend, BUT only if at a "great" nightly rate - not worth rack rate - many better options in Austin, if higher prices.

Recent stay at Barton Creek was great. Upon arrival was granted a room upgrade at no additional cost. Friendly staff who were willing and able to help with all my needs including baggage service and local directions. Found room to be comfortable overall. Only issue in room was the comforter on the bed being a bit too heavy for the hot Texas summerlike weather. Also found the bar to be a bit pricey for afternnoon cocktails. Will stay at Barton Creek during my next Austin stay. Highly recommend this hotel.

I was truly impressed with this hotel. We felt like royalty. The staff went out of their way to help us. The room was so comfortable and so spacious. We were so happy we stayed an extra day. I can wait to get Back to Austin and stay here again.

The only way to describe this oasis in the middle of Texas is spectacular! This was my first stay at the Barton Creek Spa & Resort. I have stayed in Austin many times at other high end hotels but Barton Creek offered what these other hotels could not offer which is the experience to be treated like Royalty. This was my first stay at the Resort and I have to say I enjoyed immensely. When I arrived I was greeted by the valet by name, a very professional touch. The valet asked if he could help with my bags I respectfully declined, I actually only had one bag and felt it was a bit elitist of me to say "why yes you may" but I really enjoyed it. I stepped into the lobby at the entrance there were couches and a refreshing huge decanter of water with lemon in it, I was glad because I was parched. I walk up to the concierge to ask about checking in they pointed me in the right direction. The people were very friendly and asked if I had any special request for my stay, again professional courtesy, I was started to feel like maybe I should be moving in I could really get use to this treatment. I finally made it to my room after walking through this beautiful building. The room was very comfortable the room temperature was just right. The bathroom counter tops made of granite and the shower walled with stone material it was very nice and elegant. The beds were very comfortable and soft. There was a desk needed to do my writing and a mini-bar for my convenience. I really did enjoy the selection they offered in the mini-bar. There is also a flat panel TV in every room a great selection of channels. In the morning we went on to enjoy our breakfast at Hill Country which was very nice freshly squeezed orange juice, the aroma of rich bold coffee filled the room and was truly a delight of heaven. Our flights were delayed so we ended up arriving at the resort around 1:00am and they'd already assigned our "non-smoking view king" room to someone else - so they upgraded us to a suite at no extra cost :-D

Amazing views of the hill country. We didn't have to leave the resort because there are two great restaraunts and plenty of entertainment (free putt putt, two pools, spa, pool table, shuffle board, lounge, nature walk, etc.). Very family oriented. Even the standard room was high quality. The perfect getaway!

Very friendly staff and comfortable room. The hotel, golf course and grounds are beautiful and our son loved the miniture golf course! Would definitely stay there again.

We had a wonderful, relaxing weekend at Barton Creek. The only downside of our visit was the level of service we received at 8212 Wine Bar and Restaurant inside the hotel. Our service started off well and then as the restaurant filled up it became very obvious how understaffed they were. We sat with empty glasses and finished plates for 20 minutes at a time and practically had to beg for our check after being there for two hours. Also, when we first sat down the floor was filthy! It obviously hadn't been vacuumed at our table or the others nearby from the evening before. Not what I expected for a $150 dinner.

The setting in the hills is beautiful (but not the right place if you want to be very close to downtown or you want to walk places). The rooms are very comfortable and the service is very good. The golf courses are very nice and very challenging, and others said the spa was good. It is a family-friendly resort and there tend to be a lot of children at the pool. If they added an adult-only pool (and there is room for one), it would be perfect.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel over Meml Day Weekend, and had a nice stay. We booked a balcony with view room (which costs more than the standard rooms) but at check in, they had us in a standard room with no balcony. After we discovered this, they corrected it, but this is one of several room-type errors that we have experienced through hotels.com in the last year. The most surprising aspect of the hotel is how kid friendly it is- from check in to check out (and especially at the pool) kids were running, screaming, etc. If we were traveling with kids, this would be welcome, but as a couple seeking a getaway, it was slightly aggravating. The restaurants are fantastic.

Awesome resort! golf courses were beautiful. enjoyed roating smores with the kids after a round of golf. food was good but a little pricey but of course convenient. kids club is a must if you bring your kids. fabulous fitness center and spa. should have stayed longer. very relaxing and enjoyable with or without kids. beautfiul scenery as well. Beds were so comfortable. only complaint was the band that played at 1am after an onsite wedding the hotel apologized and extended our check-out time.
