Excellent Hotel for the price you pay, awesome pool with an amazing view of tourquoise water in Cancun! I totally recommended.

Rooms were just ok and a bit outdated. Food and drinks were very expensive. Hotel staff was nice though.

When we checked in, there were a breakfast tray left in front of our hotel and it was still there on the floor after we checked out. I also found a TICK on the white mesh curtain! I was scared to sleep in the bed after seeing a TICK!

Absolutely wonderful boutique hotel in a great location in Cancun's hotel zone. Large, clean, well appointed rooms and bathroom with huge shower. Service was excellent and staff was very friendly and accommodating. Great infinity pool overlooking the beach with pool bar offering food service for lunch. Beach is fabulous with white sand and that famous turquoise water. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Family oriented.

When we got there we had requested ajoining rooms and they wouldn't honor that request. and the check in staff was not the friendliest.

Great location; parking available; LARGE room; helpful and courteous staff; nice restaurants for dinner and breakfast buffet. Only draw back--lots of steps into lobby!

Staff and service was great! Very friendly- from lobby staff, to pool bar, to room service, all hotel staff were amazing and all interested in making sure that your stay was pleasant! Room was great value at hotels.com rate. Room service meals were reasonably priced. I would definitely stay here again based on service and value alone. Only turn off was the "members only" bar in the lobby where we weren't even able to buy a drink while we waited for the shuttle, but I guess if you're a "member" it's probably a nice benefit.

Carlos works at the tour booking counter at Avalon Grand and was so friendly,helpful and sincere. He not only got me on a great tour to Chichen Itza but he also helped me with info on the public busing to help me get to Akumal from Cancun.

The place was very friendly and clean and would definitely stay there again

People with heart condition might not like it ,as first you have to go up a ramp and then 22 stairs.For healthy people its great.

The rooms are really big, with view to the ocean. The beach and the pool are great. Doesn't seem like 3 stars hotel, but more.

The hotel is convenient to downtown Cancun, not as plush as some others, and understaffed, which must be poor management. Ate there in evening and it seemed only two working in dining room, rushing to fulfill service. Earlier, atio barman had to go upstairs to order and return with food requests. A house phone might have helped. Not enough guys to carry up luggage on arrival, etc. This seems strange as there are manadatory fees for luggage handling upon booking. Wondering if they receive the tips? But good and economical for many people wanting a cheaper Cancun stay.

I was pleasantly surprised with this resort. My room was not huge, but had a small balcony overlooking the pool and the beach. (I did have to request a room with a sea view at check in and they moved me.) The beach is great. They have towel service and beds on the beach made up with a sheet. They will bring you a beach umbrella and plant it for you. They were not pushy at all about tips and acted very grateful for them and were not upset when I didn't have cash to give. The beach area is clean and well maintained. The pool near the beach is nice and there is another pool that is more shaded and has a hot tub. I did not try that one, but it looked clean and nice. I ate most of my meals from the hotel restaurant and was happy with every dish. I especially liked the grilled chicken with steamed vegetables. Room service was reasonable and prompt and hot. The food quality was the same as in the restaurant. There is a breakfast buffet each morning that is pretty nice for about 7 bucks. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed meeting many of them and a few remembered my name and provided very good service. The hotel itself is in good shape and I actually was glad to be in this one rather than the modern, sort of corny (in my opinion) looking mega-resorts. It has a nice traditional look and the interiors are updated and have nice features. I recommend this resort and would gladly return and may very well go back next year.

I can't believe this place! RIGHT on the beach with two pools, plenty of beach chairs, a MC at the pool for entertainment and music and the people were incredibly nice. If you want to be near - but not "at" the convention center and the disco's and shops, this place is a great deal! Note that most ocean view rooms are in a building that does not have an elevator . . . but a huge, ocean front room with micro, fridge, BLENDER!!!, iron and board and a terrace overlooking the gorgeous blue Caribbean . . . !!!! DEAL!!! I'll definitely go back! Good work HOTELS.COM!!!

Fortunately we got a room in the building they had an elevator, apparently not all of their "towers" do. The room was very clean, the front desk people were knowledgeable. No free wi-fi, but you can get free wi-fi at the food places across the street. It is right on the beach, like all the other hotels in the vicinity. It has a shopping mall across the street, which is quite convenient. Since the bus service is pretty reliable, fast, frequent, cheap and safe, staying far from the hotel area's downtown was not too bad.

Cons: A.C. was not functional when we checked in. Had to wait for maintenance to come, multiple times, before it was fixed. Food wasn't very good. Pros: Staff was nice and courteous. Beach was nice, and relatively uncrowded.

Beautiful hotel overlooking the beach- we paid a low price and never imagined a place as nice as this. Our room overlooked the ocean, staff was friendly, hot tub, 2 pools. So great and can't believe the price (I know this sounds like an ad, but we actually really loved it there! :)

I chose this hotel because it was relatively inexpensive and looked nice. The hotel is not as glamorous as other high end resorts, but it did a very good job for the cost. Front desk upgraded me for free and my room was great. Everyone is very accommodating and I had no problems. I would return to this resort.

the people at this hotel are rude rude rude! i would not stay here again

The first person we talked to at the check-in counter was quite rude. We asked for a room with 2 beds, which was a room with 1 bed and a pullout sofa bed that they never came to make up despite asking several times. Good thing the supplies were already in the room for us to do it by ourselves. We could never manage to get any towels because there was never anyone at the towel stand. They take down the umbrellas on the beach when the sun is still out and there was a serious lack of beach/lounge chairs. Although we could use the hotels next door. The parking is inconvenient, and getting to the hotel was a pain r/t the driveway. If you were/are disabled, forget about going here unless you can manage all the stairs. I would not go here again.

The place is in a great location, nice big rooms, and good service... The only bad things was the internet (expensive and not very good) and no elevators so make sure you are on the 1st or secon floor... Aside from that I would recomend it for the price, location and very big rooms!

The hotel staff was great. We booked a regular room and somehow ended up in a 2 bedroom, 3 bath apartment type room. Definitely worth the price and conveniently located.

We were very satisfied with our stay at the Avalon Grand! The price was right, the room was beautiful and modern and the staff were very accomidating. Avalon is somewhat smaller than the Giant resorts surrounding it, but that was exactly what we were looking for! It had an authentic feel and the architecture was very elegant. One downfall to our room was no elevator, so if you are someone in need of elevator access, I would make that a request. There are elevators in some of the other towers. The pool and hot tub were both better than I expected and the beach front was great with lots of chairs and even a few beds to lay out on. If you are looking for a great hotel, but don't want to spend a lot of money I recommend Avalon. We will definetly return. The location in the hotel zone was also good, very close to lots of shops and great places to eat!

A small hotel, good location, exactly what you paid. My roon a little noise by air condition machine.

This hotel is much smaller than its giant neighbors along Km 11 5 Hotel Zone. Some will like this; others might prefer a larger property. Service was good from all quarters. Meals at the resturaunt were professionally prepared and graciously served. The rooms were clean and well maintained.The hotel has two buildings. One on the beach and the other behind the other with limited views of the beach. We were in the latter but this didn't bother us. There was limited areas open for swimming on the entire Cancun beach. But one of two pools was adjacent to the beach as they are at most hotels on the BLvd. Irritants: Wi-fi was expensive. Free morning coffee in the room was available but for one morning only. Good point: The hotel is within a 10 minute walk to a beautiful shopping and people watching mall. A bus stop is a convenient few minutes away.

Reservation was exactly what we asked for, room was ready and staff were very friendly and attentive. view from our room was amazing and we were very happy!!! Staff were always on hand offering activities, nights out, food, drinks, pool was lovely overlooking beach, and quality of food in their restaurant was very good! Recommended!!!!

Local bus stop is just opposite to the hotel,you can take bus instead of paying more for the taxis.Hotel room is clean and has an amazing beach views.No free Wifi.Restaurant prices are reasonable and food is good.

Great central location in the Zona Hoteleria, front desk staff were mediocre, breakfast buffet was great, small and charming. Stairs didn't bother us but did notice an elevator. Internet wi-fi rates were unreasonably high, so, we didn't use it. Unfortunate, that they didn't have an airport shuttle even if there was a cost. Pool and beach front were nice but nothing fancy.

Spent one night here after arriving to Cancun and before traveling to Playa del Carmen. Didn't really like Cancun. The hotel was ok by all means but is smaller than the surrounding ones and is really dwarfed by the one next doors. For one night it was good value for money but I wouldn't spend my entire vacation here.

Very Decent for its price. I highly recommed it.

Everything was great Except: 1. The hotel doesn't have much beach area and at this time of year (Nov), all the beach area is under wave and not accessible. 2. It takes 5-10 minutes to get hot water in the shower for a 5 minute shower 3. We had an electricity outage for about 3 hours on one of the days The good: 1. Clean rooms, elegant decoration 2. We didn't have any security issues 3. Personnel was very courteous

We upgraded to an ocean view, definitively worth it! The view is breathtaking. The rooms are spacious with modern decorations but the beds are uncomfortable, or at least too hard for my taste. The bathroom was ok; modern but not five stars. The vanity space was less than what I would’ve preferred and the shower had curtains instead of glass doors (no tub). The pool was nice with plenty of beds/chairs available (the hotel was not crowded). We did not eat at the hotel but ate at nearby restaurants…plenty of options. The service was good. Our only complaint is the noise from the hotel next door. Our room was so close and their activities so loud that we could watch their nightly shows (movies, dancers, etc.). We did not request to be moved to another room because my husband didn’t want to (we had unpacked already) so he just put pillows under the door. If you want peace and quiet before 11:30 pm do not stay in room 1402 or any other room that faces the pool of the next door hotel. Overall, we had a great time and the facilities were great for the money we paid.

We enjoyed our stay and the room was great!!!

Everything was really cool up until the point when me and my friend came in late along with other groups but me and my guess were the only ones stopped at the door to see if we were staying there. a larger group walked right pass as we were held up at the door.

Pero me encontré con un detalle de vital importancia, y es que la habitación que me fue asignada, tenia una puerta que comunicaba "fácilmente", así tal cual, la abrí y entre sin ningún impedimento a la habitación de al lado (por suerte digamos estaba desocupada); reclame de inmediato a la recepción, porque entiendo que es una facilidad para grupos de huéspedes que lo deseen, pero de no ser así, ese se convierte en un punto muy negativo ya que le resta muchísima "seguridad y privacidad lo que se traduce a la vez en menor comodidad" (porque ademas se escuchaba todo). Sin embargo me ofrecieron cambiarme de habitación, me mostraron otras pero también tenían esa puerta, por lo que en conclusión me indicaron "... es que todas las habitaciones del hotel tienen esa puerta de comunicación...". Así en conclusión, por ese detalle lamentablemente (porque por los demás es excelente) no lo vuelvo a considerar para hospedaje en Cancun .

Lo recomiendo en caso de un escaparate en pareja un fin de semana que no quieras gastar mucho, su precio me parece justo. Para negocios no lo recomiendo, dado que no tienen internet inalámbrico, la telefonía local tiene cargo adicional y no tienen late check out.

restaurante muito bom,com variados pratos,piscina grande para adultos e crianças,praia privativa,serviço de taxi muito rapido e eficiente,recomendo hotel.

Esta muy bonito el hotel, el servicio super agradable, muy serviciales todos, la comida buena.. Lo unico malo es que no hay ambiente, ni entrenimiento debería de haber minimo musica o algo asi, pero estan amplas las habitaciones con cocineta y todo. La verdad si lo recomiendo!

Le personnel est tres accueuillant, il t'ouvre toujour la porte, ma chambre a moi etais genial face a la mer sur 2 etages,,, pour moi cet hotel vaut 5 etoile, luxueuse, belle plage, bon service, bien situer.. beaucoup de restaurant dans le coin.. le restaurant vaut la peine pour 2 ou 3 souper ou dinner,, sauf la sale de gym est petite et mal equiper et pas climatiser.. a eviter.. Sinon bon rapport qualiter prix..!!! moi j'y retournerais..
